Anonymous: There's construction by Kensi's house, so she goes over to Deeks' place so she can sleep.

She only has to knock twice before he pulls the door open.

"Miss me already? I mean, it has been about-" Deeks looks down to an imaginary watch on his wrist. "-seven hours since we left work. Seems like a lifetime, Fern."

Kensi rolls her eyes back as far as they'll go and folds her arms. "I need a place to sleep, jackass."

"Your bed doesn't serve that purpose any longer?"

"No, there's-"

"So you were lonely?"

She narrows her eyes. "No."

"Then why else would you be here? It's one in the morning. You're wearing your pajamas. I'm wearing-" He looks down to his legs. "-boxers. So the inevitable conclusion is-"

"That the city is doing road construction right by my house and I can't sleep because of all the noise."

His smile falters and he slumps his shoulders slightly. "Oh."

"Yeah.

"That's disappointing."

He acts like he's kidding but she knows that he's not.

"Sorry to let you down, partner." There's a beat of silence. "Are you gonna let me in? It's kinda cold out here."

He shoves his hands into the pockets of his boxers because, well, she doesn't exactly know why, but for some god forsaken reason his boxers have pockets. So he's using them. As you do.

"It isn't cold. It's like…" Deeks sniffs the air. "Sixty degrees, give or take."

"Did you just sniff the air?"

"Yeah."

"That's not how that works."

"How what works?"

She opens her mouth and shuts it twice before finally- "You're really weird at night, did you know that?"

He grins. "I've been told that on more than one occasion."

Kensi considers hitting him, but seeing as she's standing on his front porch asking for a place to crash, she doesn't give in to the urge.

"Can I take your couch, please?"

"You want the bed?"

She shrugs. "Sure, if I'm the only one in it."

"No sharesies?"

Her eyes narrow and it makes the bags beneath them seem even more apparent. He feels a slight twinge of guilt.

"May I just sleep?"

Deeks smiles and steps aside.

"You take the bed, I'll take the couch."

She pauses in the doorway. He lifts his hands in innocence.

"I know. No sharesies."
