A/N: Heh, is this thing still on? Yes, after 6 years I am picking this story back up! Let's see what we can do with these boys! If you're still reading, thank you! Let me know you're out there. It would help to write this for an audience and not just myself! Also, I think it's high time for smut. So, without further ado…
Before We Meet
Chapter 12
A few weeks later, their carelessness of public dates caught up to them. They had been walking to the store to pick up a few ingredients for a fabulous rosemary chicken dinner Kurt had been dying to cook for Blaine when it happened. Blaine was walking side by side with Kurt and bumping into his shoulder playfully. He assumed his "disguise" of hat and sunglasses were enough to head to the store without much fuss. Maybe Blaine was momentarily blinded by the appeal of domesticity with Kurt to think about the consequences, as he did not even think twice before he grabbed Kurt's hand and swung it playfully between them. Blaine was just bringing Kurt's knuckles up to his lips when he heard it.
"Blaine Anderson?" a loud and impossibly high-pitched voice yelled out. Murmurs and soft squeals from the friend group bubbled up and soon the voices were louder and closer as they approached him.
Blaine immediately dropped Kurt's hand like it was on fire and backed away. His hands flew up to his eyes and secured his sunglasses a little tighter around his face. It took only a moment for Blaine to get his show face back. He smiled smoothly at the girls and laid the charm on so thick Kurt could have scraped it from the air. The girls, who had stirred up quite the audience, were swarming him. More people were noticing on the street and running to see what the commotion was.
One woman, who was walking with her teenaged daughter, gave a particularly rough shove to Kurt's ribcage to get closer to Blaine.
"Oh Blaine!" she called, waving her hand aggressively. "You need to meet my daughter Kelsey Henderson," she emphasized the name and looked at Blaine's face for any reaction. Seeing none, she continued. "She's not due to get her wrist mark for another couple of months, but she is absolutely certain it is you! She's absolutely crazy about you!"
Kurt's eyes grew large as he watched the woman shove her young daughter at Blaine like some kind of bargaining chip to vie for his attention. Feeling suddenly sick to his stomach, Kurt turned and left, walking in the general direction of his apartment, but not paying much mind to the streets as tears stung in his eyes.
Blaine forced himself to continue to smile at the growing group of fans, although he could feel himself getting overwhelmed. He quickly scanned the crowd for Kurt. Not seeing him, he knew he had to make this encounter quick. Not wanting to completely disappoint the fans, he offered a quick solution that hopefully wouldn't hurt too many feelings of his waiting fans.
"I'm really sorry everyone, but I am in a bit of a hurry today. I would love to stop and chat with each and every one of you, but I'm afraid I'm already running late for an important meeting!" He rushed out quickly, trying his hardest to keep his smile plastered on his face. Looking around at the fans, he saw the fierce attachment in their eyes and knew he wasn't going to get off so easily. He took out his cellphone and held it up.
"Let's take a quick group photo and I will tweet it out for you all to see!" He rushed, forcing his smile a little bit wider. He turned around, held his phone up high and snapped a quick picture of the crowd behind him attempting to get as close as possible. Not waiting to see if everyone was smiling or even if he looked okay in it, he shoved his phone back in his pocket and moved quickly out of the group and searched the streets for Kurt.
Blaine felt panic swirl up inside him as his search turned up empty. Knowing he couldn't stand on the street any longer, he ran down a couple of blocks and abruptly turned into the nearest storefront, not looking to see what it was.
His entrance was deafening to the quiet coffee shop he burst into. He rested his hands on his knees as he caught his breath in loud gasps. Feeling eyes watching him, he stood up slowly and looked at the shocked patrons, some with small coffee cups suspended in the air half way to their mouths. He timidly apologized and found a small table near the back.
Blaine's hands shook as he reached in his pocket to pull out his phone. With a few more deep gasps to even out his breathing, he quickly fingered in the one of the only two numbers he had memorized.
"Hello?" a deep voice answered. Blaine sighed, thankful for the reliability of his driver.
"William," he breathed out in a hoarse whisper. "I need you to come get me. I was walking with Kurt and some fans spotted me and things got out of control and I don't really know where I am but I can't find Kurt and I know I can't walk home because apparently my well thought out disguise of sunglasses was not enough and—"
"Blaine stop," William cut in, knowing he needed to stop Blaine's nonstop rambling. "Where are you?"
"Uhh..." Blaine looked around. "A coffee shop?"
"What coffee shop?
"I have no idea, I just ran for a while after I couldn't find Kurt and I knew I had to go somewhere because I couldn't just stay on the street after what had just happened, and I didn't look at the name of this place and—"
"Look around you. What do you see? Do you see any logos? Is the name anywhere on the table or on the cups?" William asked, cutting Blaine off again.
Blaine looked around, seeing only wide-eyed stares back at him from the patrons. He shook his head and looked more closely. Grabbing a leaflet off the table he quickly read the advertisement for a local band playing later in the week.
"Hey, this place is a music venue too! That's pretty cute," Blaine started.
"Blaine, I need you to focus please," William responded, keeping his voice even and commanding.
Scanning his eyes over the advertisement further, he saw the logo of what he assumed was the coffee shop at the bottom.
"It's called Screaming Bean, I think" He replied with a lack of his usual confidence.
"I'm on my way," is all Blaine heard before the line went dead.

Kurt managed to get through the door to his apartment before he sank down to the floor and let the sobs that had been bubbling up in his chest spill over. His hands cradled the sides of his head as he folded himself practically in half on the floor.
He was upset that rude fans took Blaine from him, he was hurting from the elbow to his ribs, he was taken back by the rapid pace this all took place, but more than any of that, he was ashamed with himself for how he ran. He had abandoned Blaine in the midst of crazed teenagers and even more crazed mothers without any protection. Without any support.
Just as his shaking hands pulled his phone from his pocket, it lit up with Blaine's name.
"Blaine?" Kurt asked, timidly, expecting Blaine to be as upset with him as he was with himself.
"Kurt, oh god. Oh honey, are you okay?" Blaine asked franticly, his words rushed and his pitch higher than usual.
"Oh Blaine," Kurt sobbed into the phone. "I am so sorry I left you there. I panicked! I got shoved and I didn't know what to do! I didn't want you to be seen holding hands with me, so I just left. I am so stupid. I am so, so sorry Blaine, you have to believe me."
"Honey, honey no," Blaine cut in. "I'm glad you are okay. I am so sorry that happened. I should have been more careful. I should have looked out for you more. Where are you now? Are you safe? Can I come see you? Are you mad at me? Because I will make it up to you, Kurt. I promise you, I will—"
"Come over," Kurt whispered, barely audible over Blaine's rant. "Please," he added softly.
"I'm on my way."
•••
A timid knock on the door jolted Kurt out of his position on the floor. His hands untangling from his hair that he had been pulling between his fingers as an unsuccessful attempt at calming the knots in his stomach. He didn't even think to smooth out the overwhelming fly-aways sprouting around his ears as he rushed to open the door.
"Kurt," is all he heard before Blaine was everywhere. His arms were around his chest and his fingers were lacing up his neck. His feet were slotted between Kurt's and his legs, his chest, his beating heart, were flushed up against Kurt's body. His cheek was pressed against Kurt's and his soft voice was loud in Kurt's ear as he stumbled through apologizes.
Kurt pulled back from the tangle of Blaine and stepped backwards so he could shut the door, understanding the importance of privacy much more than he ever thought he would.
He took one more step back and held Blaine's head in his hands, his thumbs brushing over his tear-stained cheeks.
"Blaine, you have nothing to be sorry for."
"Yes I do!" Blaine said as he hung his head down. "You deserve better than this life I can give you. You deserve a better boyfriend who can walk with you hand-in-hand down the street. You deserve someone who doesn't have to flirt with women so he doesn't lose his job. You deserve—"
"I deserve you," Kurt cut him off. "We're soul mates for a reason, Blaine. You are everything I have ever wanted." Kurt brought his hand to Blaine's chin to lift his eyes to meet his. "I am sorry I panicked. If anyone deserves better, it's you."
Blaine's eyes, filled with regret, met Kurt's watery blue eyes at that last line.
Blaine gnawed on his bottom lip thinking of how to salvage this. Thinking of no words, Blaine met Kurt's eyes one more time before he surged forward and captured his lips.
This kiss was more urgent than any other they had shared. The sweetness and timid exploration phase was out the window. Blaine grabbed at Kurt's sweater and pulled him closer, afraid he was going to slip out of his hands again.
"I'm sorry," Kurt said breathlessly in between kisses.
"I'm sorry, too," Blaine replied as he moved his mouth down to Kurt's neck.
Kurt groaned at the feeling of Blaine's lips and tongue and oh sweet baby was that his teeth scraping across his pulse point?
Kurt slid his fingers through Blaine's curls as soft pants escaped his lips.
"I don't want to lose you," Blaine mumbled against Kurt's skin.
"I'm not going anywhere," Kurt gasped out as Blaine's tongue circled around the shell of his ear.
The urgency between them grew stronger at those words, and with a soft growl, Blaine slid his hands up Kurt's sweater and scraped his nails along his sides. Kurt threw his head back and groaned, his fingers tightening in Blaine's hair.
"Bedroom," Kurt panted. "Please."
The desired privacy of Kurt's shut bedroom door was not lost on Blaine as he stepped back and let Kurt lead the way to his room. As soon as the door was shut, Kurt pushed Blaine back against the bed, the backs of his knees hitting the mattress as he was pushed down. Kurt straddled his hips as Blaine scrambled to scoot further on the bed.
"I am so glad you're mine," Blaine whispered before Kurt's mouth found his again.
Blaine wasted no time in sliding his tongue against Kurt's bottom lip, begging for entrance. Kurt opened up immediately and sucked on Blaine's tongue as soon as it was past his lips. Blaine groaned and his hips thrust up involuntarily.
Blaine tensed under Kurt, realizing for the first time that his erection was very much obvious in his sweat pants, and it was very much pressed up against Kurt's leg. His eyes grew large as he looked up at Kurt, hoping he wasn't scaring him off. They should talk about this, right? Blaine shouldn't get wrapped up in his sex drive after an emotional afternoon like they just shared…right?
All thoughts of conversation flew out of Blaine's mind as he heard Kurt whimper and felt his hips press back down against Blaine. He rolled his hips slightly and when he pressed down again, their erections slid against each other.
They both gasped, both met each other's eyes, and both rolled their hips again at the same time. A full moan escaped Kurt's lips this time. Blaine was certain he had never heard a sweeter sound, and all of a sudden it became his life mission to make Kurt let out more of that glorious sound.
Blaine reached up and wrapped his arms around Kurt's neck to pull him down against him. He crashed his lips against Kurt's mouth, which was parted with soft groans at the changed angle. Blaine slid his hands down Kurt's sides, around to his back, and rested on his ass, pulling Kurt down harder against him. Kurt tossed his head up at the added pressure and let out an even louder moan.
Blaine's erection throbbed at the sound. He sped up his hands pulling Kurt down and pressed up his hips with added ferocity. His lips attached themselves to Kurt's pulse point and nipped at it, soothing it with his tongue after.
"Fuck, Blaine," Kurt whimpered. "I'm close."
Blaine forced himself to pull back and look at Kurt's face. His eyes went glassy at the sight. Kurt was absolutely debauched. His hair was messy and his cheeks were rosy. His lips were parted and his eyes were shut. He was absolutely beautiful.
"Come for me, beautiful," Blaine whispered into his ear with a particularly rough thrust up.
Kurt's face grew even rosier and his mouth opened wide as a moan ripped through him. Blaine felt him shudder above him, and feeling the wet spot soaking through both Kurt and Blaine's pants was enough to push him over the edge. Blaine came with a soft murmur of Kurt's name.
Kurt gently rolled off of him, but snuggled into his side.
"So, I guess we're staying in for dinner then," Blaine smirked, his eyes crinkling at the edges as he took in how absolutely glowing Kurt was in his post-orgasmic haze.
"You're buying," Kurt mumbled as he snuggled in closer to Blaine's side.
"Absolutely," Blaine whispered, reaching his hand across to touch Kurt's cheek softly. "Are we okay?" He whispered even softer.
"We are perfect soul mates," Kurt answered, smiling.
They cuddled up to each other for a moment before a thought dawned on Kurt.
"Did that woman say her daughter didn't even have her wrist mark yet? Which means she wasn't even thirteen years old yet?" Kurt looked up at Blaine with wide eyes.
"Oh my god. Do not remind me." Blaine rolled his eyes and sighed. He felt Kurt shaking next to him and thought he had upset him again until soft squeaks of laughter made it out of Kurt's mouth. Blaine giggled at Kurt's giggling, which set Kurt off even more.
"People… are… crazy." Blaine managed to mumble out between giggle fits.
"You certainly attract the crazy in people, babe." Kurt said wiping his eyes with a toothy smile splitting his face. Blaine sighed and let his giggles soften as he snuggled back into Kurt's side.
•••
The next few weeks passed in a flurry of stolen kisses, hidden touches, and holing up in Blaine's apartment to hide from the public.
Although Blaine was adamant that he was not ashamed of Kurt and was willing to risk his record deal to be with him, Kurt knew that was a sacrifice he could not ask Blaine to make yet. It soon became a topic they both ignored, allowing themselves to bask in their current happiness and pressed past the uneasy feelings of the future with Blaine's upcoming tour.
A/N: If you're still here, thank you! I actually have the rest of the story outlined, including detailed outlines of each chapter. There will be 20 chapters and an epilogue. Even if no one reads this anymore, I am finishing this dang thing for myself!
