"Would you like another ice pack, ma'am?" JARVIS's voice asked over the speakers.
"I'm fine. And I'm not a ma'am right now, remember?"
"Oh right, sorry sir," JARVIS apologised awkwardly.
I sat on the couch beside Thor, my broken rib smarting terribly. Tony had gone in his room with Pepper while Clint came with me to let Natasha mend his wrist.
"It was really amazing though," Clint said as Bruce entered the room. "You shoulda seen the guy when Sarah punched him right in the face. She has an amazing right hook. Think she broke his nose, actually. Then when she and Tony nailed the guy in gut together. Priceless."
Thor clapped a hand on my shoulder.
"It wasn't that impressive," I smirked.
"Of course it was," Thor smiled. "By the way it sounds, you must have really given that man a taste of Asgardian justice!"
Bruce chuckled. "I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't," he said softly.
Loki walked into the room along with Steve, whispering words being thrown back and forth from each set of lips. "That's what I was trying to say, but he wouldn't listen," Loki's smooth words entered my ear as he sat down beside me. "Brother," he said nodding to Thor. "Sarah," he smiled planting a kiss on my forehead.
"There, all better," Natasha took a step back and admired her work on Clint's wrist.
"Thanks Nat, but are you sure this bone is supposed to bulge out like this?" Clint asked curiously.
Natasha lapsed into scarlet-faced silence and rushed back over to Clint to fix his wrist yet again.
"You know what," I said suddenly. "Maybe I should just go, maybe I don't really have to learn how to be a guy. I'll figure it out while I'm there anyway."
Loki looked at me, trying to comprehend what I had just said.
"What?" Clint said quietly.
"You heard what I said."
"Sarah, are you sure? This is really early, maybe one more day will do you good," Steve said approaching me.
"Yes, but what more do I need to know?" I asked.
"A bit more, just give it another day," Steve smiled softly. I sat down and pouted.
"Well what am I to do now?" I huffed.
"Your bored. Maybe I can help," Bruce spoke up.
I looked at him puzzled. "Bored. I'm not bored! I'm merely tired of sitting around," I said with a matter of fact tone.
"That's basically the definition of boredom," Clint said with a smirk.
I crossed my arms and laid my head on Loki's shoulder. "How could you help?" I asked Bruce, trying to ignore the sniggering Clint.
"Go get us a pizza, I'm starved," Clint interrupted.
I whipped my head around and stared Clint dead in the eyes. "I swear to the Nine a Realms, Barton. If you don't shut up I'll-"
"Clint's right, I am a bit hungry," Thor said quickly, trying to avoid the quarrel.
I growled quietly and stood up, making my way to the elevator. "Are you coming?" I asked, turning to look at Bruce.
"Coming right now," Bruce smiled, letting out a small grunt as he stood up and followed me.
We headed out onto the street as Bruce got on his motorcycle, I transforming into a falcon. The engine roared as Bruce started it up and sped out onto the streets, I flying right beside. "So, whatcha want on your pizza?" Bruce yelled over the rushing wind.
I thought for a moment. "Whatever is satisfactory," I said softly, using my telekinesis abilities.
Bruce smirked and drove on, rounding a sharp turn and stopping in front of the pizza parlour.
We entered the door as I turned back to my normal self, the savoury smell of the cheese and the sauce making its way to my nostrils.
"One meat lovers delight, please," Bruce said with a hushed voice while I made my way to look around the small restaurant.
I picked up a small unlit candle and turned it over in my hands before placing it back on the table and looking out of the window. A smile curled my lips as I noticed a large billboard that advertised the Avengers, each of our faces smiling down at the passing cars.
"Are you the famous scientist, Bruce Banner?" The cashier asked abruptly, his face awestruck. Bruce chuckled and nodded his head. "Amazing!" The cashier exclaimed before turning to face me. "Who's that with ya?" He motioned toward me with uncertainty. I turned toward the man and gave him a friendly smile.
"Oh, I'm uhhh," I looked at Bruce for help, remembering I couldn't call myself Sarah for now.
"Steven. He's Steven. A close friend," Bruce said, giving me a slight wink.
"Oh," the cashier replied, unamused. "Here's your pizza," the chef came walking out of the door holding a square box which he handed to Bruce, who in return gave the chef a ten dollar bill. "Pleasure doing business with you," the chef smiled and the cashier nodded as we left the parlour.
Bruce got back on his motorcycle while I took the box in my talons, hoovering over His head. Bruce started the motorcycle back up and sped off, I flying close behind. We got back to the tower and entered the door, taking the elevator up to the main floor.
"Pizza's here!" Bruce yelled as we stepped out of the elevator. I made my way to the bar and sat down while Bruce placed the box on the counter and opened it.
Clint sprang up from his seat dashed over to the table, grabbing a plate and picking two pieces. He slapped one onto the plate and stuffed the other in his mouth hungrily while the rest made their way over.
"Took ya long enough," Tony grumbled with a yawn. He made his way to the table and sat down, groggily blinking his eyes.
"Just woke up?" I muttered.
Tony sleepily nodded his head and slowly brought a pizza piece to his mouth.
I smirked at the others and walked toward the elevator when Loki blocked my path.
"What do you think your doing?" He chuckled.
"Going to my room."
"Why? You haven't eaten yet."
"I know," I sighed looking over my shoulder at the rest.
"Not hungry?" Loki asked, ruffling my hair.
I nodded sheepishly and entered the elevator, taking it upstairs to my room. The metal doors slided open with ease allowing me to enter my floor.
I walked to the centre of my room and summoned my staff while my clothes changed to a bear skin kilt and a rabbit fur cape. A silver chain rested around my neck while the beads tied to my rope belt softly clinked together. I closed my eyes as my grip tightened around my staff. My breath got caught in my throat as I felt my feet leave the ground. My cozy surroundings where replaced by glaciers and snow pillars as blistering gales of wind rushed past me.
I had arrived in Jotunheim.
