A/N:Hey folks! I. Am so sorry for this long hiatus. I've had a really crappy month or so, but it's gotten considerably better in the past two weeks. I'd like to thank all of you for your patience and your continued support. I am going to try better at updating soon, but finals are coming up, so I'ma try and sneak one in before all that kills me. Lol, so enjoy this chap. It's not too long, but you'll see why.
Disclaimer:Kingdom Hearts most definitely does NOT belong to me. I just like to write fanficiton about my OTP :)
Also, this chapter is really cheasy, so be prepared for that XD It also may not be that good, but I promise juicy chapters to come~
Axel's POV
As the phone call dragged on, Roxas seemed to get more and more irritated. He had been since he got up and started pacing. I didn't know who he was talking to, but it sounded like a really heated argument over that Xion person.
"Mr. Orfanos, don't you understand? Xion is just doing this to get attention! And not just anyone's attention, yours! She feels abandoned ever since you remarried…I'll look for her, but I'm telling you, she doesn't want me to find her. She wants her father." Roxas angrily ends the call.
"Everything okay love?"
He sighs and walks back over to me. "When is it ever?" I open my arms and pull him into my body. "I'm sorry. We can't go out today."
"That's okay. We couldn't decide on a place anyway."
"But I did-" he starts, but then stops, his eyes widening. "Come on. I know where we're going."
"Didn't you tell that person you were going to look for Xion?" I ask, standing as he pulls me up.
"I don't have to look for her. I already know where she is," he states. Pulling the strap of his bag over his head, he and I make our way through the forest to the student parking.
Once in the car I ask him where he wants me to drive to. After being told to head to Tram Common, I step on it. He didn't really tell me to rush, nor did he look like he was in one, but I could see the concern in his face.
"Alright, I need you to do me a favor Axel," he says after I pull over on the side of the street of Tram Common.
"What is it?"
"Can you go and buy a pack of sea-salt ice-cream pops?" he ask me. I stare at him blankly.
"Wh-"
"Don't ask, just do. Please?" His face is so serious I can't refuse him. "Bring them to the top of the clock tower when your finish."
Before I can even begin to question what he has planned, he leans over and kisses me on the cheek before leaving the vehicle. I sit there stunned for a few minutes before kicking my butt into gear. Heading down a few shops, I stop into the convenience store and buy a pack of sea-salt ice-cream.
It takes me awhile to get the clock tower, but once there I start to panic.
I don't remember how to get to the top.
It had been years since I'd gone up there. It's kind of sad how that used to be my hangout spot when I was a kid, and now I don't even remember the way.
Going in anyway, I try to let my body's memory lead the way. Somehow or another, I end up at the door that leads out to the balcony overlooking the clock (after taking a couple wrong turns). I push on the door with my shoulder to budge it open. The door had a little bit of a stick (since we obviously weren't supposed to be up here). As I open the door, I shield my eyes from the setting sun. It's as gorgeous as I once remembered.
I can hear voices coming from around the corner. Making my way out and around, I can hear my angel speaking.
"Xion. I know it's hard, but maybe if you gave it a chance, they would accept you. Maybe they've been waiting all along."
"I know," I hear her sigh. And sniffle. She's been crying? "I guess it's just hard for me to accept the change."
"I know," I hear Roxas say. I stopped before turning the corner, so now it would be awkward if I made my presence known. "Have you talked to your dad?"
"No." After a pause, she replies "Not yet, anyway. I haven't gotten any calls either."
"Maybe that's because you're a few hundred feet in the air. Or maybe because you're phone is such an old model you get shit service everywhere."
"Shut up," she chuckles.
"Hey, don't push me around here. I could fall you know?" Roxas snorts. My heart rate picks up. "A lot of people would be upset to hear of my untimely doom."
"Like your boyfriend?" she teases.
My heart starts beating even faster.
"Him especially. He's such a worrywart."
"You love him, don't you?"
And my heart has officially stopped.
"Yeah. I really do."
"I love you too Roxas," I whisper, my heart swelling at the words that he said.
"…Axel?" After a shuffling noise, I hear some footsteps before my boyfriend comes into view.
"Hey Roxy," I say, waving awkwardly.
"What are you doing? Why are you hiding?" he questions, grabbing my hand to help me up.
"Didn't want to interrupt anything," I say as I walk over with him. I see Xion, and it's like I'm seeing her for the first time. "I don't believe we've been formally introduced. I'm Axel. Got it memorized?" I say coolly.
She giggles and outstretches her hand. "Xion, and I most definitely do. Roxas talks about you constantly, so it's impossible for me to forget."
"Hey! I do not talk about him constantly!" he defends. I chuckle because he was just talking about me.
"It's okay Roxy, it just means you love me a lot, right?" I bring him into my arms so he can't escape. (Not that there's much to escape to, seeing as how we were on the edge.)
"Eavesdropper," he mumbles cutely. "Did you bring what I asked?"
"Got 'em right here." I hold up the bag.
"What's in there?" Xion asks.
"Something you probably haven't had in years," Roxas answers. I give him the bag and we all go to sit down on the ledge, Roxas in the middle.
"Wow," she sighs, after I reach over to give her one. "A sea-salt popsicle. You're right, I haven't had one since I was a kid."
"They only make them in this town so I'm not surprised," Roxas says around his, which he already has in his mouth. We sit in a comfortable silence, just eating our ice-cream. Everything feels very tranquil and peaceful.
"How does sex work between two guys?"
Both I and Roxas choke on our treat while trying to regain composure.
"Where the heck did that come from?" I ask.
"This is Xion. Overly shy. Overly blunt."
She blushes and covers her face with one hand. "I'm sorry, I was just really curious."
I lean back on my hands and try to explain. "Well, it's like regular sex, except instead of putting it in the-"
"AXEL!" Roxas jump-attacks me so we're laying on the strip of floor, my legs still dangling over the edge.
"Roxy, that's dangerous," I mumble into his hands covering my mouth.
"Shut up! Oh my god, I can't believe you were about to say that!" he screeches, blushing like a tomato.
"She was curious. Who am I not to answer her-"
"Just shut up, you dunce," he says, his eyes squeezed tight.
"Aw, you're just embara-"
"Shut up, shut up, shut up! Stop talking!" he repeats, shaking his head in emphasis. Gosh, he's too adorable.
"Geezy Roxy, if I knew you would get so embarrassed I wouldn't have asked," Xion says towards our collided heap. I sit up and Roxas falls into my lap.
"Only I get to call him Roxy, ex or not. Got it memorized?" To the ear, it sounded civil enough, but I was type-glaring at her while Roxy was still trying to sit up.
I see her shiver. "Got it," she says.
"Look, can we just eat our popsicles in actual peace?" Roxas pleads, crawling back to where he was sitting.
"Aw, where's the fun in that?" I joke. But we do stay silent for a while, occasional joking around. It must have been the most relaxed any of us have been in weeks.
…
"I look at all of you today, and see how you've grown over the past four years of your high school career. I no longer see children, but fine adults, ready to enter and indulge in society itself."
"Roxy, think we can sneak out for a quickie?" I whisper to Roxas.
"Are you out of your mind, no," he snarls back in a low voice.
"We're sitting on the edge. No one will notice."
"Ask me again Axel, and I'm not having sex with you for a month."
I shut my trap right quick.
It's not like I was a heathen. Obviously I didn't want to disrupt this graduation ceremony, especially when I'm supposed to be here supporting my friends. But sitting here for hours while the principal droned on in this tight ass suit, auditorium as hot as the devil's crotch, and Roxas looking mighty fine in his pinstripe vest and baby blue button-up, I thought I was going to die if I didn't get some type of release. This would be one of those times I would sneak out for a smoke break, but I threw away all of my cigs when I quit because I was afraid of relapsing.
"Look, it should be just another half hour, and then you're free," Roxas says.
"Thank god," I sigh.
"I think Leon's about to give his speech," Sora whispers from the other side of Roxas.
"Thank god."
Leon was valedictorian of the graduating year, and was standing up to give his speech. Roxas and Sora both took out cameras and started snapping away.
"Can you see Cloud?" Sora asked, peering over to where the graduates were seated.
"Can't tell which is him. I know he said he would be sitting in the third row from the back," Roxas answers. I chuckle at the display of him and Sora trying to get a good picture of Cloud from where he's seated, and taking about 25 pictures of Leon on stage. They were very excited about this graduation, more so than the graduates seemed to be themselves.
Once Leon finishes his speech fifteen minutes later, the graduates toss their mortar boards in the air and cheer.
"Cloud! Roxas! Get closer, get closer, I can't get the picture," Sora says while we're all standing outside after the ceremony. Cloud puts his arm around Roxas' shoulders while Sora snaps away five pictures a second.
"Keep that up and you're going to run out of memory," Leon says, making me laugh.
"Nice speech by the way Leon," I compliment him.
"Thanks. I tried to keep it as short as possible compared to the Principal's speech."
"Thank god for that. He was literally boring me to tears," we hear someone say behind us. Turning, Larxene is behind us in her cap and gown. Though she took off her mortarboard long before the ceremony even ended. "If I hear someone say congratulations graduates, one more time, I will shoot someone in the head."
"Start with yourself dear, I am so tired of hearing you complain," Marluxia says joining our group as well.
"Shut up pixie. Be glad I'm all graduated. And glad to be. I am so done with high school."
"Now FIT has a snarky, fun-loving bitch to look forward to," Marluxia says with a wink. She smirks and they hug. My friends are strange but I love them to pieces.
"I'm going to miss you weirdoes," I say wiping away fake tears.
"We're going to miss our fun adventures together," Demyx says entering with Zexion.
"Make sure to visit," Zexion says.
"Where have you two been? We saw you at the beginning of the ceremony, but then you disappeared half-way through. Where'd you go?"
Demyx chuckled and Zexion blushed giving away the fact that they snuck out to do what I wanted to sneak out and do to Roxas. I look over at him and he shakes his head, as if to say that he still wouldn't have even let me do anything.
"Do you want me to take over for a while Sora, so you can get in some of these?" I ask him. He gladly hands it over and skips to Cloud and Roxas to pose for pictures.
"Where are your parents Cloud?" I ask form behind the camera.
"Probably on their way," he says through a smile.
"That's my cue to scatter," Roxas sighs. He gives Cloud his final hug, and I can see him whisper something in his ear. Cloud's face lit up as Roxas walked away and over to me.
"What did you tell him?" I ask as he grabs my hand and pulls me away.
"Oh." He pauses for a moment, but then answers calmly "I told him I'd move in with him."
My eyes widen in shock. "Really? Your dad agreed?"
"Yeah. He told me before I left for Cloud's graduation. He thinks it'll be good for us if we're separated," he explains. I frown a little at that.
"So he's sending you away again because he can't deal?"
"It's not like that, Axel," Roxas says, but he and I both know that's how it is. "Anyway, I'm not fighting it this time. I want to move in with Cloud. At least for the time being."
I nod and eventually smile. "When are you moving in?"
"Next week. In which you will be unpaid help."
"Nice," I laugh. I would have volunteered myself anyway. "Looks like it's going to be an interesting summer."
"Most definitely." I pull him closer to me, and we walk out of the school gates, heading anywhere we want. Literally, there was no place I cared to go to, as long as my Roxas was here with me.
