Surprise!
Another chapter! YAY! I hope you all are as happy as I am because its another chapter for everyone. Well enjoy!
I made my way to the kitchen at Sesshomaru's house. I was in the middle of making breakfast for us when the doorbell rang. I turned to see Sesshomaru heading to the door and so I finished the meal and plated it and placed it on the table. "Well this is a pleasant surprise Agent. What can I do for you?" I heard Sesshomaru ask as he and the guest made their way to the kitchen. I turned around to see Miroku .
Miroku smiled and nodded at me. I smiled back and then got both him and Sesshomaru coffee. "Thank you Rin." Miroku said and Sesshomaru nodded to me. I smiled at them both and then went upstairs to give them privacy and to retrieve Sesshomaru's things. I came back down to find Sesshomaru and Miroku at the front door. I paused as Sesshomaru shook his hand and then he left.
Sesshomaru closed the door behind him and then just stood there. "Sesshomaru...what's wrong?" I asked him. Sesshomaru turned to face me and then looked me in the eyes. "He thinks they found my child." He said to me. I paused and then smiled. "That's great." I said to him. Sesshomaru nodded and then he just took a moment to himself. I walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Sesshomaru just placed his over mine and then looked at me again.
I took a hold of his hand and held it. Sesshomaru finally looked at me again and noticed I was smiling but I saw the worry in his eyes. "What's the matter?" I asked him. Sesshomaru shook his head and then tried to walk away from me. "Sesshomaru its ok to be scared. It's been six years and you have never even met them." I said to him. Sesshomaru just sighed and then grabbed the house phone. He called in to work saying that he had a family emergency.
Sesshomaru took his computer away and sent it down. He then grabbed my coat and helped me into it. He did the same for himself and then grabbed his keys and then we left. I wasn't sure what was going on and I wasn't about to ask where we were going either. Finally Sesshomaru came to a stop in front of a building. "CS?" I looked up at the building and then at Sesshomaru. "Apparently my child is here." He said to me and then he got our of his car and then opened the door for me. I smiled and got out.
We made our way in and Sesshomaru walked to the front desk and gave his name. The woman nodded and the paged someone. She then told us to take a seat and wait. Finally a man came in and and called Sesshomaru's name. He stood up and then before I knew it he had my arm in his hand. We then walked up to the man and he told us to follow him. We did so and he took us to his office and told us to take a seat. "First off may I ask who this young lady is?" The man asked. I was about to answer him when Sesshomaru spoke up. "Her name is Rin. She is the woman I have been seeing." I closed my mouth and just waited.
The man nodded and then he made a call and then a woman walked in. We turned to look at her and she smiled as she stepped a side and showed us a small little boy that looked just like his father. I smiled at him and then he smiled back. Sesshomaru just seemed lost in his own world looking at the boy. The boy seemed a little afraid of Sesshomaru and so I calmly got up and walked over to the little boy.
He smiled bigger and then looked at me. "Hi. My names Rin. What's yours?" I asked him. He looked down for a moment and looked at me again. "My name is Akira." He said with a big smile. I smiled back at him and then brushed his bangs out of his face. He giggled and then looked behind me. Sesshomaru had stood but didn't take a step closer. I smiled at him and then I took his hand into mine and then used my other to point to Sesshomaru. "Akira that man is your father. His name is Sesshomaru." I said to him.
Sesshomaru stopped breathing and Akira seemed a little scared and hid behind me. This action seemed to scare Sesshomaru and I took a moment and then I stood up smiling and then I took Sesshomaru's hand and softly spoke to him and then Sesshomaru tried to relax the best he could and then slowly approached the boy and got down. "Are you a nice Daddy? Or are you mean like the other men?" He asked Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru seemed at a loss for words and look to me for some help.
I smiled and came back and got eye level with Akira again and smiled. "Your Dad is a fair man and would never hurt you." I said to him. Akira smiled and then smiled at Sesshomaru. This got him to smile and I felt like he was getting somewhere. "What are the steps that we need to take?" Sesshomaru asked as he stood up. "Well we can let him go with you but you will have social worker do surprise visits." He said to me.
Sesshomaru nodded and then walked back to the desk and he and the man began paper work. I decided to talk to Akira and see what things he like and what he didn't like. Finally Sesshomaru was done and we were free to go. Cs was kind and offered a a car seat for Akira. We got him in the car and off we went. Sesshomaru decided to stop for lunch. Akira looked around in amazement and the grabbed my hand. "What is this place?" He asked us. "Its a restaurant." Sesshomaru answered him.
Akira just looked around and smiled. Sesshomaru was interested in the little boy. Akira sat down in the booth and Asked Sesshomaru to sit next to him. I smiled as I seen the two talking and couldn't help but feel so happy for Sesshomaru. He finally got the one thing that can keep him together. Akira smiled at me and then the waitress came and took our orders. Akira didn't know what he wanted to eat and so we asked him what he like and he didn't know. "How about I order cheeseburger and you can get chicken strips. You can take a bite of each and then you can pick which you want." Akira nodded and smiled.
After twenty minutes of waiting our food arrived. Akira was trying so hard not to bounce out of his seat. I smiled and tore off a little piece of my burger and Akira took a bite of it and then took a bite of a chicken strip. "I like both." He said with a sweet voice. I laughed a little and Sesshomaru chuckled. "How about we make a deal?" I asked Akira. The small boy looked at me and waited to hear what I had to say. "How about I give you have a of my burger and I get two of your chicken strips." I said to him.
Akira took a moment and then decided to nod and take the deal. I smiled at him and we switched food and went on with our lunch. Akira was telling us about this one time that he went to the park and played. He was a very happy boy, it made me wonder if he knew the real story of how he was born and what happened to his mother.
We finished lunch and made our way back to Sesshomaru's house. Akira looked around and smiled at everything. "WOW! I get to live here?" He asked Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru nodded and Akira grinned and ran up to him and hugged his leg. "Can I go explore the house?" Akira asked him. Sesshomaru nodded and he ran off. I smiled and then went to the kitchen Sesshomaru followed me and sat down at the counter. "What am I gonna do?" He asked me. I gave him a cup of tea and smiled.
"Do what all Dad's have to do. Be there for him give him hugs when he is upset. Buy him things that he needs." I said as I put a plate of goodies together. Sesshomaru looked at the arrangement and then back at me. "And you?" He asked me. I smiled. "I am the perfect housekeeper and apparently nanny is on my resume now." I said with a smile on my face. Sesshomaru sighed. "Rin I understand if you quit. You didn't..." I came around the counter and stood in front of Sesshomaru.
He looked at me and sighed. "Sesshomaru, no matter what I wont quit just because I have the joys of taking care of your son. The same son I spent months trying to help you find. So quitting is not gonna happen." I said as I stood closer to him. Sesshomaru sighed once again and wrapped his arms around me. "Thank you Rin." He said and then leaned in and kissed me. A simple kiss but it didn't get passed Akira. "Eww...Daddy, girls have yuckies!" He said and then made gagging sounds.
I laughed and Sesshomaru hid his face. I smiled and then pulled away. "Well I guess if I have yuckies then your Daddy and I will eat all the goodies." I said as I went to pick up a cookie. Akira looked at me and then frowned. He wasn't sure what to say or do and so he thought a moment. "I think maybe its girls my age that have yuckies." He said and then came to me and gave me a hug. I smiled and hugged him back and then picked him up and sat him in the bar stool.
Sesshomaru pulled the plate closer to Akira and he took a cookie to eat. "So Akira would you care if I watched you while your dad works during the day?" I asked him. Akira smiled and nodded. Sesshomaru seemed to have let a breath out and smiled at him. "Your house is so big. Do you have any other children?" He asked Sesshomaru. "No, I don't." Sesshomaru answer him. "Oh." Was all the little boy would say. Sesshomaru seemed at a loss of how to approach the subject about his life before coming here.
I smiled and got a glass of milk for Akira. "Akira tell me what is the funnest place you have ever been?" I asked him. He didn't take long to answer. "The park." He said to me. I smiled. "Why the park?" I asked him. He once again didn't take long to answer. "Cause nothing bad ever happens there." He said with a sad look on his face. "Where I was it was ok as long as she didn't get the nasty water. If she drank it then she was mean. But one day she came back and said that she had to take me back home. To my Daddy." He said and then took a drink of his milk.
Sesshomaru seemed well enough to take over and decided to ask one of his own questions. "Akira did she tell you how you came about living with her?" He asked the little boy. He nodded and then set his cup down. "Yeah she was in that mean mood and she had friends over. I was hiding from them and one of the mean men asked her why she had me around she told them everything she did." He said with a sad look on his face. "Was she nice?" He asked looking at Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru took a moment and then nodded. "In her own way, yes you mother was a nice woman. She had moments where she drove me crazy but she drove me insane when she told me about you. She was very excited about having you." He said to the boy. Akira smiled and then hugged his father. I smiled and then left to give them privacy. I was on my way up stairs to get a room ready for Akira when I passed the picture of Sesshomaru with Kagura while she was pregnant.
I smiled and went about my way. Sesshomaru came in the room I was getting ready with a very happy and giggling boy. "Do you live with my Daddy?" He asked me. I shook my head and smiled. "But you kissed him. Don't people that kiss live together." He asked us. Sesshomaru shook his head and explained one of the many things he would have to tell the young boy in the years to come.
Finally Akira fell asleep and Sesshomaru and I left the room. Sesshomaru pulled me to the couch and sat down. "How's it feel to be a father to a six year old?" I asked him. He just rubbed his eyes and sighed. "What am I gonna do?" He asked me once again. I smiled and then rested my head on his shoulder. "You will go to work and Akira and I will put a list together of all the things he needs and when you come home you two can go shopping and buy it all." I said and got up. "And why will you not be joining us?" He asked me.
I leaned down and kissed him on the lips. "Because this would be one of those male bonding moments that all little boys need with their fathers." I said to him. Sesshomaru nodded and then pulled me down to the couch. "Stay the night. Just in case he needs a woman's touch." He said to me. I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Ya know you could just say your scared to be a dad. Its normal." I said to him. Sesshomaru sighed and then glared at me.
We decided it was time for bed and headed that way. I seen Sesshomaru take one last look at Akira and then he walked up to me and we went to bed. About two-thirty in the morning I woke up to crying. I looked over and Sesshomaru wasn't in bed. I got up anyway and went to Akira's room. He was on Sesshomaru's lap crying his little gold eyes out. He stopped when he heard me come in and then took a deep breath. Sesshomaru seemed so confused he never had to deal with a crying child before.
I walked over to them and got to eye level with Akira. "Hey little man what's got you upset?" I asked him. He sniffled a couple time and then wiped his eyes. "I don't know." He said and then tried to calm down again. I smiled and asked him if he wanted some milk. This cheered him right up and we made our way to the kitchen. Sesshomaru still had to boy in his arms when I handed him a small cup of milk. "Thank you." He said and then started to drink it. I smiled at him and brushed his bangs out of his face.
Sesshomaru then carried the boy back to his room and laid down on the bed with him. I peeked inside and then went back to Sesshomaru's room. A little while later Sesshomaru returned and laid down on the bed with me. I turned to look at him and smiled. "See nothing to being a dad." I said and then kissed his cheek. Sesshomaru sighed and then pulled me into his arms and started to go back to sleep. I followed his example and did the same.
The next morning I woke up with Sesshomaru's alarm clock and got out of bed and went down stairs to start breakfast and coffee. I was half way down when I heard Akira giggle. I turned around and found him following me. "Well good morning." I said to him and then he reached out for me. Akira was small enough I could carry him and so I did. "What do you like for breakfast?" I asked him. "I can cook you anything." I waited for an answer and then he smiled.
I waited for him to say something and then frowned. "I don't know what there called. But I've heard about them. Its made out of bread and you put syrup on it." He said to me. I smiled and walked into the kitchen to a surprise. Izayoi was in the kitchen drinking coffee. "Oh Rin, good your..." She paused and then just smiled. "Sesshomaru's picture of him doesn't due him justice." She said as she looked at the little boy.
Akira was confused by her and hugged me tighter. I smiled and then set him down at the counter. I then started to work on breakfast. I got a loaf of bread out and started to make french toast. I couldn't help but smile because this was one of Sesshomaru's favorite thing to eat. Thought he never admit to it but when he doesn't like something he refuses seconds this he always wants fourths.
I was so thankful I asked Sesshomaru to invest in a giant grittle or else everyone would have a cold breakfast. InuToshio walked in with a very agitated Sesshomaru. I took a deep breath and just went on with breakfast. Sesshomaru came in and saw what I was making and got plates, forks, knives and the syrup. I smiled at him as he handed me a plate and I plates it with the first twelve.
As I continued on making the meal I started thinking to myself. I have wonderful people in my life and it seems it just got a lot more interesting. And with Christmas two weeks away it was gonna be as interesting as hell. I cooked up two more batches of french toast and then took a seat. "So this trip must have been planed for a while." Sesshomaru stated. Everyone but Akira paused at what he said. Then we went back to the conversation.
Sesshomaru and his father were in the middle of a conversation and Izayoi and I were talking about Akira and he just smiled every time he heard his name. Akira seemed to have enjoyed his breakfast because he asked for seconds. I watched his sugar in take knowing Sesshomaru would probably kill me if he got a sugar high. So Izayoi was asking me what all Akira would need and I explained to her that we were gonna sit down and talk to him about what he needed.
Finally Sesshomaru had to leave and and InuToshio decided to go with him. Leaving Izayoi with me and Akira. But Sesshomaru wasn't able to leave with out getting a hug from the little man. I smiled and said goodbye to the two men. Izayoi and I went with Akira to make a list for all the things he would need and probably want. This was gonna be a long day.
