So, everybody:

I've decided -as the new Petalwish, though I'm asking the old Petalwish for permission- to continue with Duskwater: After The Flood without Sweet Shadows. I feel that there is a lot of things unanswered, and although I adore the epilogue of the story I just feel that it should be conintued further without a sequel. Do you guys think I should?

On another note:

I'm going to try -for this chapter only, unless you guys love that type of writing style- to use second person. Please refrain from flaming this chapter because of that, as I have warned you beforehand.

This chapter may be quite short, due to the fact that I suck at writing in second person. But I have done second person before, and apparently that didn't suck as bad as I thought it had, so here I am again experimenting with it,

Without further ago, I present Chapter Thirteen!

Chapter Thirteen:

You watch through narrowed eyes as Cliffstar called the Clan together. It has been a little over a half moon since you and Acornpaw had first met in the forest that night. Neither cat had spoken to the other since that night, and you are anxious to speak with him. You twitch your tail, anxiety bubbling up in you, eating at your insides.

You have to talk to Acornpaw. There isn't any way around it.

"Whitepaw? Are you listening?"

Skystorm's sharp mew makes you snap out of your daze and come back to reality. You peer up at her mentor, who is looking at her through narrowed chestnut-brown eyes. "You must go..." the words are practically forced out of Skystorm, yet she tries to act cheerful.

"Why?" You ask, twitching your tail. Your insides twist and coil with fear. Please, don't tell me... Don't tell me...

"You are no longer my apprentice, Whitepaw." Skystorm replies briskly. "Go and stand before Duskbird. She is your new mentor." She looks down at her paws. "I'm sorry, Whitepaw..."

You stand there, rigid in your place beside the silver medicine cat. You -with a heavy heart- rise to your paws and take a step forward, only to run into something fluffy and muscular. Looking up, you see Duskbird standing before you with a wide smile on her face and her green eyes friendly.

"I'll teach you well," The jet-black she-cat promised as you both touch noses, accepting one another as mentor and apprentice.

"Whitepaw!" The Clan cheers, the she-cat's bursting with pride while the toms... well, the toms basically just normally say your name without any enthusiasm.

You step back from Duskbird, your eyes scanning the camp and the cats now surrounding you. The she-cat's all crowd around you, purring warmly and saying how wonderful of a warrior you'll be. The toms, however, just retreat back into their desired dens without any words to you.

You feel some cat's pelt press against your own, and turning your head you stare into a pair of warm amber eyes.

"So you're a warrior apprentice now," Acornpaw mews, blinking warmly at you.

"You bet I am!" You let out a purr at the excitement that's fizzing inside of you, ready to burst.

"That's wonderful." Acornpaw purrs and rubs his muzzle along yours. "Who's your mentor?"

"Duskbird." You reply, gesturing to where the black she-cat stands beside Brightdove and Creekblossom, chatting away.

Acornpaw nods and wraps his tail around yours, twining them so they're now one. "You ready to train?"

"Sure!" You answer, a smile growing on your muzzle. "I'll go get Duskbird, and you go get-"

"Whitepaw," Acornpaw's stern mew makes you halt in your sentence. He leans forward and whispers in your ear, "Just you and I today. Okay? I promise after that, it's our mentors and us."

You contemplate the offer for a moment before nodding, and Acornpaw flashes you a small smile before he leads you out of camp, away from the eyes of Skystorm and Cliffstar.

* ( ) *

You lay there, sore and tired from everything Acornpaw taught you. Groaning, you rise to your paws and look down at where Acornpaw lays beside you, his light orange fur clumped with dust and matted.

"Well," you say with a purr of amusement at Acornpaw. "That was… eventful."

"It really was," Acornpaw purrs as he rises to his paws beside you, now standing directly in front so you can't see the sun any longer. You can only see Acornpaw's light amber eyes, full of love and pride as he leans forward and asks you a question you never thought would come out of him:

"Will you mate with me?"

Ugh. That sucked, I've got to admit. It was rushed, boring… I'm disappointed in it… Plus it was a terrible ending, and not to mention the fact that both of them are still apprentices, so it would never work out… D:

Well, time to go and wait for your reviews on how bad this chapter was. Let me know if you think I should write in second person for the next chapter or not. And by the looks of it, I say no to my own statement. It was like an out-of-body experience for me, and it was really creepy.

See you guys! Review, and I may just start Chapter Fourteen sooner than planned!
