Hey everyone! The next chapter still has many kinks to be worked out, but God willing it'll be posted by the end of this month... however in the meantime, I've been thinking. Up until chapter 11, these were pretty much scattered oneshots that were barely related to each other if at all. And I wondered if it would make more sense to individually post those previous chapters and make this post-Narada arc its own story. If I went this route, my profile would list the chronological/prompt orders of the James T. Kirk Files verse. I feel like this would help the individual oneshots stand out more and allow the post-Narada arc to actually show up since it seems kinda buried after the scattered oneshots (according to one of my friends?) :p
Or, if you guys preferred, I could keep it as is, all grouped together in this one story. I am using a 100 Themes list for the chapter titles (yes I'm hoping to eventually have 100 chapters...well 101 now seeing as the last update was an 'interlude'), so this would probably keep things a lot simpler. And pretty convenient for most people.
It'd be nice to do both, but that'd be double-posting which is against 's Terms of Service, so that's a no-go. :/
Anyway, I couldn't decide, so what better way than to ask the readers' opinions? I've posted a poll on my profile for that very reason. If you think there's a more viable third option that I'm stupidly ignoring (exams are approaching...sorry xD) then please PM me and let me know!
Thank you everyone! I'll probably decide in a few weeks' time what I want to do with the story. For now, to avoid violating another part of the Terms of Service, please enjoy a wee bit of good ol' Bridge crew intervention (based on what I imagine their characters would actually say if confronted with this situation xD)!
Bones: (scoffs) It's a story, lady, not a documentary on the history of the Earth or even a ship's officer's log. Look, it ain't broken, so don't fix it! And besides, I'm a doctor, not an editor!
Uhura: I get it; I'm not the Chief Communications Officer for nothing. Whatever you choose, just make sure in the end that you're happy with your decision. It's your story and no one else's, remember.
Chekov: Euh, eet seems to skeep around a lot... nyet, nyet, not zat zat's a bad zing! Jist... eet can be confusing at times. Eef you separated eweryzing I do not zink you would haf zat problem.
Sulu: (grunts as he continues fencing with one of the Security officers) If I win, do whatever you want! Though I'd say break it up to make it more interesting... And if he wins... how likely is that? But I digress... I guess, if he wins, listen to the majority then?
Scotty: (scratches his head) Ach, I cannae say, lass. 'Tis your story. But... ach, why not. 'Tis a right deal simpler ter 'ave it all laid out 'ere in one big collection, if ye will. Direct and clear, like.
Spock: (clasping his hands behind his back) If endeavoring to come to a logical conclusion, one should first consider all views, then come to a conclusion dependent on the merits or lack thereof of each side. Of course, one must also take into account prior experience, as well as the logical premise that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one-
Jim: (hastily) Alright, Spock, I doubt she wants a lecture. (fixes Trecriture with an intense stare) Look, we could go on like this until we're blue in the face. You know what the pros and cons of each side are. You know what you'd like to do. But deep down, your gut, your intuition - part of what makes you human - is also telling you something. So listen to it. It's saved my life more times than I can count.
