Jayma's POV

I knock on the door. Happy that Matt is a bit more confident than he was originally.

"Jayma!" mom says coming out from the house.

"Mom, this is Matt." I say pushing him forward. Mom gives him a hand to shake.

"It's very nice to meet you Mrs. Mays." Matt says, politely, it was so unlike him and I tried hard to stifle a giggle. This was the first time I saw him this uptight.

I take his hand in mine as my mom leads us inside the house. She leads us to the living room. Their house here in LA was new. They wanted to move closer to me when I transferred here from Virginia.

I sit down next to him.

"I'll just get James." Mom says.

"We'll be here." I say waving to her.

"So how's meeting the parents going so far?"I ask Matt. His eyes were closed and his hands were linked together like he was thinking. He snaps out of it a few seconds after my question.

"Okay but I was so nervous Jayma. Did I do okay? Oh gosh, what if they don't like me-"

I start giggling.

"You were so adorable being so polite. I never saw you that way." I laugh harder this time. "It was so cute."

His jaw drops.

"It's very nice to meet you Mrs. Mays." I mock.

"Jayma, you're not helping me here." He says rubbing hi neck. I put my hand on top of the one he's using to rub his neck.

"You'll be great okay? Trust me, you already have one upside because I love you."

"You'll love me even after I make a fool of myself in front of your parents?" he asks looking into my eyes.

"I'll love you even after that. And you won't make a fool of yourself okay." I put my hand on his cheek. "They'll love you, just be yourself that's enough."

"You sure you don't want me to be uptight or be like Will Schuester?" he asks smiling.

"Nope, I think I like Matthew Morrison better than Will Schuester." I say leaning in to give him a soft kiss.

"Same goes for you and Emma Pillsbury." He says after we pull away.

"Jayma? Your dad is here." James Mays calls out, his arms wide open ready for me to hug him.

I run toward him and give him a huge hug.

"Dad, I missed you. Why didn't you come with mom the last time she visited?" I ask him hugging him tighter. And just a little after that I could see will with the corner of my eye coming nearer to us.

"Oh dad, this is Matt. Matt, this is my dad James."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Sir." Will says giving him a hand to shake. My dad takes it but he never takes his left arm away from my shoulder.

"I missed you bug." He says. It was a nickname I had earned from when I was just five years old and till now my dad keeps it.

"Matt!" I call out for him to follow as my dad was leading us to the dining table. He easily caught up and I take his hand in mine.

Dad finally lets go of me as he takes his seat and I sit down, making Matt sit right beside me.

"So Matt," it was the first time dad was the one who started the conversation with him. "How's life with Jayma? I hope she's not bothering you too much." He gives out a heart- warming laugh.

Matt laughs too and mom serves the food.

"She's not really a bother; in fact it's quite lonely when she's not around." Matts says resting his hand on my knee.

"Yeah, Jayma is really fun to be with." My mom says and I give her a warm smile.

We all start eating.

I was glad no one had brought up the divorce yet. But knowing mom, she would bring it up eventually, I think that's one of the reasons on why she asked me to come tonight.

We moved to the living room after dinner, coffee for the guys and me and mom had tea.

"So did you get your other things from the former house bug?" Dad asks.

"Yeah." I nod. Resting my hand on Matt's thigh. "We actually saw Adam there."

"Oh?" Mom asks and I nod. "How is he Jayma?" Mom asks concerned.

I see Matt trying to hide being sad.

"He's fine." I say. "He's moved on actually, he was with a girl named Kate. She seems pretty nice, and I'm really happy for them." I say looking at Matt trying to encourage him to speak up.

"Yeah Adam looks pretty happy with Kate." Matt says agreeing.

Mom and dad look at each other and I hold Matt's hand tighter on mine.

"So Jayma you stay in Matt's house now?" She asks me.

"Yeah, uhm- he was kind enough to let me stay in such a short notice." I smile.

"Are you two considering buying a new house? Like one for your own? Something both of you can build and have together."

I almost choked on my tea and Matt rubbed my back to lessen the coughing.

"We should shouldn't we?" Matt says looking at me. "Yeah I think we should, Jayma." I eye him and he gives me a why not look.

"But Matt, a house costs a lot." I say. He looks at me.

"I could handle a house." He smiles. "This-this could be my early birthday present to you Jay,"

"Matt, I don't want you to pay for the house we are going to occupy, of course I'll give-"

"No, no, now that would ruin the essence of it being a present Jayma." He says and I see my parents giggle from the corner of my eye.

"But-"

He silences me by putting his finger on my lips.

"No, all you have to do is pick." He says smiling.

"Mom, tell me, tell us, you paid for some part of the house we had in Virginia." I tell my mom, begging her to say yes.

"Well I tried to, but your father won't allow me to do so…" she says giggling.

I know she was lying. They were just taking Matt's side. I want them to love him but I thought they would still stick with me in situations like this.

"Mom you are lying!" I say dramatically. "I can't believe you guys are taking Matt's side instead of mine."

Will just laughs and my parents do as well.

They were ganging up on me. My jaw drops.

It was forty five minutes past the hour of twelve when we decided that we had to go home since we have to work tomorrow. We were sent out with cupcakes and lots and lots of chocolate chip cookies of which Matt was secretly very, very happy about. That isn't an exaggeration. His hand was grabbing the cookies one we got inside the car.

He grabs one and nibbles on it before he starts the car.

"Oh gosh, Jayma we have to come to your parents' house all the time. These cookies are so good." He continues to munch on it and I giggle.

He starts driving.

"And just a few hours ago you didn't want to meet my parents and now you want to come back and we aren't even fifty meters away from the house, I get it you had fun." I smile. This was so relieving.

"You really have a pair of amazing parents Jay." He says smiling while driving down the road which seemed so familiar to him. He is so good at directions.

"Of course Jayma Mays is their daughter-" I make this gesture that points to me "And Jayma's family is amazing." I say tracing an imaginary rainbow in the sky, like what I had done this morning.

"Well I got a thing on the Mays' family remember?" he asks me giggling.

I gasp. Exaggeration. "So that's why they were on your side when we were talking about the house. That is so unfair Matt!"

He gives me this 'I didn't do anything bad look' "I was just being true, I want to give this to you as a present Jayma."

"You really want a house? It's not because my mom wants us to have a new one?" I ask him. Who knows, mom might be making Matt do something he doesn't want to do.

"I think she's right Jayma, I want to have a house in which I look at every corner and remember a memory we share. Not that we don't have memories in my house now, but it's different. The house that we're staying in now is the house I dreamed of. I want a house in which we both dreamed of. Cause you're a part of my life now Jayma, there's no turning back, now. You can't get away anymore." He says, he is possessive and that's what I love so much about him. He loves me so much that he couldn't bear for me to be away from him, gosh I am so lucky to have someone like him to be called my boyfriend.

"You only get one true love of your life, and you're mine Jayma." Matt whispers before we both drift off to sleep.

I just really love that last line and I decided to put it here. Anyway please please please review! It would mean the world to me if you do!
