A/N: Hey there. I haven't got many comments in the prologue, just wondering if people don't actually like this story? I know it might not be really fab, but please give it a chance, thanks. Here's the first chapter edited into 3rd person pov. Oh I almost forgot to tell you guys, I will from now on be doing a weekly update every Wednesdays, so don't forget to follow this story if you like it.
Chapter 1- In which genders are confused, and enemies partnered.
SIX YEARS LATER.
Kings cross station was once again bustling with people, among them, was a red head girl, pushing a trolley with some rather odd looking objects on it. For one, she had a midnight black owl with some mahogany tips, followed by a medium sized cauldron and a perfectly polished, rich brown trunk that looked like it was about to explode any second.
She didn't seem to notice the strange looks she had been receiving from passersby, and if she did she didn't seem to mind. Well of course she wouldn't, you see the red headed beauty (A.K.A Lily Evans) wasn't normal, on the contrary actually, you see she happened to be a witch. No yours eyes aren't deceiving you, you read right, the young Ms Lily Evans was indeed a witch. Like any normal person you might scoff and say that I'm finally off my rockers ( you would be right, except I had been off my rockers for a few years now) but you'll see that I'm not lying, for Ms Lily had stopped directly in front of the 9 and 10 barrier at Kings Cross Station. She took a large breath and ran full speed, pushing her trolley in front of her towards the barrier. (A/N: don't try this at home) Now if you or I normal people had tried it, we would probably have a broken bone, and get a large embarrassing telling off from our parents. Now if you were paying close attention you would already know that Lily Evans was not normal, and this was proved by the fact that she didn't break her bone, or receive any injury what so ever, as a matter of fact she didn't even crash, nope she simply disappeared, yup POFF, just like that she wasn't standing in the world of you or I for the matter.
The nerves that had been building up since Lily Evans received the letter finally lifted off her shoulders as she took a step between barrier 9 and 10, a small smile gracing her delicate features as she was greeted by the beautiful sight of platform 9 3/4. A shrill sound emitting from the scarlet engine lazing around on the tracks.
She saw a figure running wildly in her peripheral vision before she was engulfed into a warm yet tight embrace.
"LILY OH MY GEWD LILY LILY LILy! I missed you sweetums!"
"Marley, C-cantttt breatthhe!"
She gasped, hoping the blonde around her neck would get the gist and loosen her death grip, but of course we are talking about the one and only Marlene McKinnon, best friend and blonde. To most others Marlene McKinnon came across as the sweet blonde with blue eyes, who wouldn't hurt a fly, someone also who clearly doesn't know her own strength? Just before Lily passed out from lack of oxygen, her knight in shining amour rode in on her dark stallion, galloping to her rescue, no, literally, she was serious, there really was a girl on a horse charging to her rescue.
A girl with midnight black hair gracefully dismounts a, well she wasn't really good at telling the difference between different horse breeds and all but she was pretty sure it was a large black Arabian. The willowy young woman's hazel eyes met hers, her eyes widening when she noticed Lily's dilemma. Lily wasn't sure if her oxygen deprived mind was playing tricks on her, but what happened next seemed to happen in slow motion. Ara charged towards Marlene catching her in a head lock, ripping Marlene's grip from Lily in the process.
"GASPPPP! O-oh my freakin MERLINNN! ARA THANKYOU YOU SAVED ME.. How.. T-tell me however can I ever repay you?"
She gasped holding on to Ara's hand like her life depended on it.
"Lily!"
Ara cried wrapping her slender arms around Lily and pulling her into another bone crushing hug, thankfully pulling away quickly.
"Merlin, you've grown GURL, and your hair got darker!"
She squealed scrutinizing every single inch of Lily she could lay her eyes on.
"Come on; let's go get a seat before we have to share with some second year brat or someone equally as annoying." She called grabbing both Marlene's and Lily's hand and practically dragging them in her haste.
After putting away their trunks they finally stepped aboard the scarlet engine and settled themselves in an empty compartment, soon joined by their fellow Gryffindor and friend Alice, easily falling into a comfortable pattern of throwing Betties every Flavor beans at each other trying to catch as many as they could in their mouths. When they say every flavour, they MEAN every flavour; Lily could have sworn she got a bogies flavor once.
While Marlene recounted her scandalous tales from Paris where she was on vacation for the summer, Alice giving her undivided attention, while Arabella decided to go on an hours long rant, reminding us (though we didn't need any) how much she truly DESPISED the one and only Sirius Black, after he had proceeded to embarrass her at the Parkinson's Summer Ball. While to their utter astonishment Lily informed them of her snobby sister's engagement, .yup snobby little Petunia Evans was indeed engaged... To a man twice the size of her, with little hairs he referred to as a moustache.
"Wow Lils, I'm surprised you haven't told us yet!" Marlene exclaimed rather crossly.
"Told you what"
She replied con-fuddled. The others just looked at each other and rolled their eyes exasperatedly.
"DID YOU GET HEAD GURL OR NOT!"
They all burst out each octave in synch with the other.
"Oh..uh...yea?"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WE KNEW YOU WOULD…"
"...atta girl..."
.
"Our li'l Lils is gunna be the Head GURL!"
They all sang, enveloping the newly appointed Head Girl in their friendly embraces.
"Well.. Who do you think the Head Boy is going to be?"
Lily asked curious as to who her partner, through sickness, health and all that, for the whole year would be.
"REMUS!"
Three voices said.
"I hope so, I mean Zabini might have a shoe in for head boy as well, but by Merlin, I hope it's Remus, I don't know how I'd survive the whole year with Zabini, especially when he's too busy tormenting muggle borns"
"Can we see it?" Ara inquired
"See what?"
"Your badge silly,"
" "
She replied reaching into her pocket to get the gold badge.
"Uh.. Lily, I'm not sure you noticed, but um... It says Head Boy, not Head Girl." Alice pointed out.
"Ha-ha yea I realized, they might have gotten the badges and letters mixed up, so I'm assuming the Head Boy has the Head Girl badge" I suggested.
"Well you've got about half an hour before you've got to go meet you future Prince Charming."
Marlene sang causing Lily to scoff in disdain.
"Hardly! We might have to have each other's backs, but that does NOT under any circumstances mean that we will fall in Love, and ride on a unicorn into the sunset, as you'd put it."
"You'd never know if you're going to, if you' re going to be so closed minded about it Lils!" Alice joined in.
"We'll see!" Lily laughed.
After spending the rest of the time talking about the future and what they all wanted to achieve this final year, the time had finally come for Lily to meet her 'Prince Charming' Marleen's words not hers.
The further away she got from her's and closer to the heads compartment she went, the more the butterflies in her stomach fluttered until they had transformed into a herd of stampeding elephants.
She gripped the door knob of the heads compartment, pausing to keep her nerves in check.
"I can do this, I can, I'm in Gryffindor for gods sakes, there's nothing I can't possibly handle."
She chastised herself, taking a deep breath before sliding the compartment door open. Peering inside she was met with the sight of a tall lanky boy with sandy brown hair with his back turned to her, but those vague features were all she needed to determine who exactly the Head Boy was.
"REMUS!" she squealed. Launching herself towards him.
He turned in time to catch her in his arms as she hugged the living daylights out of one of her good friends.
"Hey Lils," he smiled looking down at her, his blue eyes crinkling with amusement.
"Gosh Remus, you have no idea how relieved I am, I swear I don't know how I would survive the whole year beside a prejudice Slytherin or someone equally as horrible" she was so wrapped in her ecstasy, she didn't notice Remus shuffle uncomfortable, or the sparkle of mischief in his eyes, oh if only she had, she might have been prepared for the next chain of events, but then again no one was expecting what would happen next.
"Uhh Lily," he interrupted her triad, and with much trepidation contined "Umm.. I'm not Head Boy."
"WHAT! Wait, if you're not head boy than who is?"
"I am."
The compartment was suddenly dead silent, its occupants not daring to breathe. Everyones attention on the red head in the middle of the compartment.
"I Am"
"I Am"
His voice repeated inside her head, bouncing around it, her whole body stood frozen in horror. If there ever was a Sirius Black to her Arabella Figg, it would be him, the infamous, egoistical, stuck up jerk, to ever walk the grounds of Hogwarts, the one and only 'James Potter.'
She slowly spun around to face her arch nemesis for 6 years, her eyes pleading him to tell her he was playing another one of his cruel jokes. The corner of his mouth turning up into a self satisfied smirk, dashed away the last of her hopes.
"Prove it" she whisper croaked, sounding like a dying whale in the process. He held out a familiar yellow parchment, which she carefully took. she read it 5 times before her brain was finally able to process the words elegantly sprawled across the parchment.
'Congratulation Mr. Potter on becoming Head Boy.'
"I believe this belongs to you Evans."
He held out his arm. Sitting smack dab in the middle was a gold badge, inscribed in the middle in cursive writing was written 'Head Girl' Lily looked up at him in absolute horror, his honey colored hazel eyes expressing his amusement at her dilemma.
In the words of Katy Perry, oh what was it... Ah yes she recalled ..'Oh well, I'm screwed."
His egoistical face the last Lily saw before she let herself succumb into darkness.
A/N: So that was chapter one. What do you guys think? Again it's unedited so my apologies for the grammar mistake.
So what do you think of my attempt at a 3rd persons perspective. Is it good or boring or … just review your thoughts. Thankyou
