Nightwing POV

I landed in a crouch, scowling as Red X disappeared past the force field. After we had past the laser lights and I just started catching up to the little shit, Red X led me to here. He used one of the explosive that came with the belt, destroying the force field long enough for him to get through. The shield must have been regenerative, though, because it closed up seconds later. And with me on the wrong side.

Red X POV

I peered over the raft I was perched on, watching Nightwing look around the room confused.

After Nightwing had finally got past the force field, I led him to this room, then hid in the rafters. This was the third trap, the giant laser that was supposed to destroy whoever stepped onto the floor if they stepped in the wrong place.

Unlike with the other trap, I couldn't just use one of the bombs in my belt to blow it up. The laser for this was too big for that, at most, it would probably only make a dent in the giant laser. Which was why Nightwing would have to be the first person who walked out onto the floor. "Where are you, you little shit?" Nightwing yelled, just as he walked into the middle of the room.

Lights blinked onto the floor, right under Nightwing as the giant laser moved over the light. And Nightwing. "Shit!"

I dropped from the rafters as Nightwing cursed, waving at Dick as I slipped through the door towards the Xenothium, able to get through since the giant laser was set on Dick and not me. "See you, 'wing!" I said, smirking under my mask as Nightwing yelled angrily behind me.

I let out a breath as I walked into the room, wincing as I heard Nightwing shout from the other side of the door.

Even with everything that's happened, no matter how pissed I was, I didn't want to do this. Nightwing was my brother, and even though I knew that he could handle it, I was still worried about him being behind that wall.

But, this had to be done. I had to make Nightwing believe I didn't care about him at all, or else he would know I was Tim, and then everything the Team had worked hard for to prove ourselves would be over. Nightwing would just have to hang in a little bit longer.

I shook myself out of my thoughts, looking at the middle of the room. In the center of the room was another force field, this one smaller, and with a red Xenothium power rod in it with a panel in front of it.

I walked up to the panel, typing in the code I 'bribed' a guard into giving me. If you call promising to let the guard leave without being mentally scarred the rest of his life if he gave me details of how to break in a bribe.

A mechanical arm took the Xenothium core out of the force field, the metal arm disappearing from the inside of the field, and then raised up in front of me as I grinned. "This should last me a long time." I said, turning around and freezing.

Nightwing was standing in the door way, pieces of his suit missing as he breathed hard. "No, it won't." He said, running straight at me, and landing a strong hit at my chest.

I grunted, barely able to dodge the rest of the hits that he threw at me. "What are you planning on doing with the suit?" Nightwing asked, dodging the X shuriken I threw at him.

"Nothing. I'm not some villain who came here to terrorize your city, Wing. I'm only looking out for number one." I said, Nightwing narrowing his eyes at me.

"So your not psychotic, just selfish." He snapped, kicking me in the arm.

I winced at the hit rough hit, flipping backwards away from him. "You know, you make me sound like such a bad guy. I'm really not that bad once you get to know me." I said, grinning behind my mask at the irony.

If I took off the mask now, tell Nightwing that I was Tim, he would probably agree that I was a good person. But right now, with the angry and hate filled look he was giving me, I knew he would never think I was good as long as I wore this mask.

Nightwing opened his mouth to say something, but he froze. His eyes widened, confusion and shock replacing his hate.

Before I could ask what was wrong, something stabbed me in the back, electricity running into me for a second before I blacked out.

Roy (the original) POV

"I'm bored." Bart whined, looking at me from where he laid upside down on the couch.

"Are you always this annoying when Tim's not here?" Conner asked, his eyebrow twitching and his teeth gritting together loudly. "And where is Tim anyways?"

I flicked my eyes towards them for a second before looking back at my mechanical arm that I was trying to fix. "He's going to some place in Jump City to get some more Xenothium for his suit. And, yes, he's always this annoying when Tim's not here to entertain him." I said, hissing as I turned my arm where the metal met my flesh to fix the pain in my arm I've been feeling all day.

"Tim doesn't not entertain me, he's just more exciting than you guys." Bart said, his lower lip poking out in a pout.

I rolled my eyes, the pain in my arm settling enough that it was only a dull throb. Conner opened his mouth, but whatever he was about to say got interrupted by an alarm. "What's going on?" The other Roy asked, walking in while covering his ears. Bart ran out of the room, pulling up the holographic computer while the rest of us ran behind him.

On the screen, there was a camera showing us what was going on outside. The thing was, there was nothing going on.

Nobody was in the field, no psycho maniac in the field screaming his name and calling out for a hero to fight like Mister Twister was. If anything, it looked boring outside. "Does it look too windy to you guys?" The other Roy asked, pointing to the trees.

I narrowed my eyes, grunting when I saw that he was right. A cluster of tress were flailing around, some of the branches and leaves snapping off from the force of the wind. But the rest of the field, the grass and the trees and anything else planted in that field, was still. "Switch to thermal." I said.

Bart tapped a couple of keys, the screen changing to show the temperature instead, and a ship shaped hot spot appeared above the trees. "Is this exciting enough for you?" Conner growled, his hands clenching into fists at his side.

Red X POV

I groaned, pushing myself up. "Who were they?" I muttered groggily.

Bars raised up around me, caging me inside a cramped cell. An angry voice said, "Criminals, just like you."

I turned around, leaning against the bars while narrowing my eyes at Nightwing when he started walking up towards me. "You don't really think this cage is going to hold me, do you?" I asked.

Nightwing pressed a finger to the panel in front of my cage, the bars electrolyzing me till I jerked back from the bars. "You don't even care, do you?" Nightwing asked, his voice thick with anger. "A low life criminal just got his hands on enough Xenothium to vaporize an entire city. And it's your fault."

"Don't you mean it's our fault?" I asked.

Nightwing gritted his teeth together, glaring at me. "At least I'm doing something about it. And if you cared at all, you'd do the same thing." He said.

I shook my head, turning away from him. "Sorry 'wing, not everyone likes playing the hero." I said, even as every fiber in me screamed at me to tell him 'yes'.

He glared at me harsher than before, stepping away from the panel. "Than I'll be back to take you go jail." He growled, turning away from me.

I hung my head, already knowing I would regret the plan that was starting in my head. Why did I have to try to break in when my brother was patrolling?

Roy (the original) POV

"Why is the ship just floating there?" Bart asked, frowning.

"Whatever reason, it's probably not a good one. Or maybe... maybe they're already out of the ship." I said, narrowing my eyes.

"You're smarter than you look." A voice above us said, right before we were all sent flying across the room.

I groaned, staring at the figure above the holographic computer. It was a girl, who looked about 16-years-old. Only, she didn't look like a regular girl. Her skin was green, long red hair stopping at her shoulders, and freckles that stood out like bloody red dots against her skin dotted her cheeks. "Who the hell are you?" The other Roy asked as he pushed himself up.

"I'm Miss Martian." She said, her blue cloak floating around her as she flew towards the other Roy.

I aimed my mechanical arm at her, shooting off a laser at her. She turned, gasping as it grazed her arm when she tried to dodge. "So we went against the League, and now their sending you against us? What, do they not have the balls to come here themselves?" I asked, glaring at her.

"The League didn't send me. I came myself, to make sure you guys didn't hurt anyone." She snapped, right before her eyes glowed green, and things started flying around the room. This wasn't looking good, at all.

Red X POV

"So tell me good boy, who should I destroy first?" Professor Chang asked. "You? Or your pretty friend?"

I glared at the old man, before looking at the guards all around the room. They were all wearing the same yellow suits, and judging from the weapons they held, it looked like they were the guys that had shocked me during me fight with Nightwing.

All from what I've heard so far, it sounded like Nightwing went to Professor Chang to look for the Xenothium I was after, since I took the Xenothium radar from him as well as his Red X suit. Chang must have back stabbed Nightwing, and used our fight as a distraction to get to the Xenothium. And the purpose for the Xenothium, was to use it for a ultimate power source for his giant laser, so he could destroy Jump City and kill Nightwing and his friends.

I bit my lip, my teeth grinding behind my mask.

The Xenothium powered laser beam that was aimed at Nightwing- who was hanging off a broken ladder, and looked like he was ten seconds away from taking a 50 feet long swan dive- lowered down to the tubes in the back of the lab, where Starfire and the rest of Nightwing's friends were frozen.

"Why do always have to get into the worst trouble, Dick?" I muttered under my breath before throwing the X shuriken at the controls of the Xenothium ray, while shooting my grappling hook at the same time.

The controls to the ray short circuited, and I caught Nightwing just in time before he fell. "You really need to lay off the donuts." I grunted as I pushed Nightwing towards a platform over looking the lab, barely able to hold him up. Jeez, what did he do, eat all of Alfred's blood covered cinnamon rolls before he came here?

"I thought you didn't like playing the hero." Nightwing said, ignoring what I said as he smirked at me.

"Doesn't mean I don't know how." I said, climbing up on the platform next to him as a door opened behind us.

"Watch out!" He snapped, shocking me as he pushed me out of the way of a cattle prod.

I stared at him, blinking as he flipped over a group of men. Nightwing hated my guts right now, and I knew he always would as long as he didn't know who I was. So why did he push me out of the way like that?

I almost literally was shocked out of my head, the cattle prod sizzling past my ear as I knocked out the guy who tried to electrocute my head. "How many of these guys are there again?" I asked, annoyed at the unlimited number of people that kept on walking in when we beat another guy.

"Professor Chang has whole labs of people backing him up. I honestly have no clue how many people there are." Nightwing said next to me, round house kicking a guy I pushed at him.

"Great, a villain with an unlimited amount of minions." I mumbled, my voice coming out drier than I thought it would with my voice modifier as I punched a guy who was about to get Nightwing with a cattle prod.

"No, no, no!" Professor Chang yelled, beating on the controls when he saw that we were beating all of his minions.

Professor Chang must have done something when he pounded his fist against the controls, because after he did that, the Xenothium ray started going hay wire. The ray started jerking around, firing at everything until it looked like at least half of the observatory we were in was about to be destroyed. "I take that back, we have a moron of a villain with an unlimited amount of minions and a crazy Xenothium powered ray." I scowled, jumping off the ledge with Nightwing and landing next to his friends as the observatory was destroyed.

Roy (the original) POV

"We never hurt anyone!" Conner yelled past the wind, grabbing a chair just as it was about to hit his head.

"You ripped a robot to shreds and your hiding out in an old Justice League HQ. Why should I believe you?" She asked, everything flying faster around the room.

"Because we're not villains!" I yelled, just as a chair flew straight into my solar plexus, knocking the air out of my lungs.

"Yeah, right." She said, her eyes glowing a deeper green before a sharp pain started in my head.

I screamed, everyone screaming 'what's wrong?' in the background as I felt like something was trying to worm it's way into my head. Memories flashed before my eyes, us being lied to by the League, breaking into Cadmus, finding Conner and the other Roy, the fights I've been having with Ollie. And just as quick as it came, it stopped.

"You... aren't villains." She said, everything freezing in mid air before dropping to the ground.

Red X POV

The stupid thing about what Professor Chang did when he pounded on the controls, it destroyed his own Xenothium ray.

When the ray had been going going out of control, it had end up cutting out half the observatory. The half that was cut off fell on the Xenothium ray, that is, dropping the building on that side and the ray it's self into the ground below.

"Now to get what I came for." I said, grabbing a tube of the Xenothium core that had surrounded the ray, probably as more ammo for more cities to destroy.

"You didn't actually think we would let you get away, did you?" Nightwing asked, smirking at me with his friends behind him.

"Voluntarily? No, but if I did this..." I trailed off, bringing out a bomb detonators.

I pressed the button as their eyes widened, small amounts of C4 exploding around them as I jumped off the not-broken-half of the observatory, and escaped.

Roy (the original) POV

"Yeah, I know. What did you do to me?" I groaned, pushing a chair off of me.

"I looked at your memories. They...I ... you were just trying to prove yourself to the League." She said, looking down at the ground. "Just like I was."

Conner heard her though, looking at her shocked. "You... you were trying to prove yourself to the League? By bringing us in?" Conner asked.

All our eyes snapped to her, her green cheeks turning pink from the force of a blush. "Yes. I am M'gann, and Martian Manhunter is my uncle. I was told, when I came here with my uncle J'onn, that I would be able to help. But... they won't let me help people. They won't even let me out of the Watch Tower." She said, hanging her head as she floated towards the ground.

I looked at Bart, who was reflecting the same look I had in my eyes. We both knew what she felt like.

"You should stay here with us then." Conner said, shocking all of us.

"What?" M'gann asked, who looked more shocked than the rest of us.

"You should stay here. I mean, we could use you on the team." Conner said, his own cheeks turning red.

I looked over at the other Roy, sharing a smirk. Who knew the clone of Superman would fall for the niece of Martian Manhunter? "We would have to find a new uniform for you, something your uncle wouldn't recognize. But, it could happen." The other Roy said.

Conner sent the other Roy a grateful look, then looked back. "So?"

"I- I broke in. I destroyed your main room, why would you want me here?" She asked, stuttering.

"Dude, you saw Roy's memories, you know why. Plus, your ship is so crash!" Bart said, grinning at her.

She blushed, but smiled anyways, tears in her eyes. "Thank you." She said, then looked confused. "What does... crash mean?"

The door to the main room opened suddenly, Tim walking in with his mask off, looking around with shock. "So, what did I miss?" He asked after a while of staring.

Nightwing POV

"There's something off with Red X." I said, staring at the video of him in the lab where the Xenothium was before Professor Chang stole it.

"Yeah, no shit. The kid's an asshole." Cyborg said.

"No, it's not that, Cy. It's... he seemed familiar. And when we fought... it felt like something we've done before." I said, frowning.

Cyborg frowned, looking at the video. "Are you sure, man?"

I shook my head, turning away from the video. "I don't know Cy, I don't know."
