Robin: Tactician, Gentleman, and Match Maker
Chapter 16: Confessions part 2 by Lucina feat Robin & the Blood and Thunder
Robin was currently making his way over to Morgan's tent in hopes of finding his wife and apologizing for his intoxicated behavior. He didn't remember all of the details, but he did remember the violin part and that was more than enough to make him realize that he had royally messed up yesterday. He soon found himself outside of their tent and proceeded to knock on the loose tent flap which just produced a limp flapping sound. Still it should have been enough to get the attention of whoever was inside and after getting no answer he simply walked inside to find a scene that was either brutally adorable or just strange.
Maribelle had female Morgan curled up against her in the cot and she had both arms and legs wrapped around Morgan like a body pillow. Then there was the fact that Morgan had her face buried square between both of her breasts and she looked a little too happy to be there. The saddest part was male Morgan sleeping on the floor with no pillow or blanket and the most pathetic look on his face as he slept. Apparently Robins entry into the tent had stirred male Morgan into waking and Robin was quick in silencing any loud noises he might have made. If female Morgan was anything like Maribelle then waking her while she slumbered was parallel to waking any large mammal during hibernation. They made a quick exit out of the tent so that they could talk.
"Hey kiddo you doing alright."
Robin asked mainly because the look on Morgans face had him concerned.
"I don't think so dad. I just don't know what to say."
This had Robin very concerned since Maribelle had been very pissed off yesterday and although Robin hadn't considered divorce, maybe she was.
"It's alright son I'm here for you. You can tell me about whatever your mom said."
At this he just closed his eyes and his mouth twisted into the saddest looking...sad face he could muster.
"It wasn't what she said dad. Last night we were all sleeping in the cot together even though I insisted that I sleep on the floor. I was sandwiched between them and Morgan got all cuddly with me, but that wasn't the problem. Mom tosses a lot in her sleep and I think that she thought I was you and...and..."
Robin wasn't exactly sure where this was going, but Morgan was pretty messed up from it.
"...she grabbed my butt."
"...so let me see if I understand this correctly. You are emotionally distraught because Maribelle mistook you for me in her sleep and pinched your buttocks?"
"...uh-huh"
"It's okay son come here."
Then they embraced in a hug so that Morgan would have the emotional support he needed to get past being accidentally groped by his own mother. Also Robin needed his own face to be out of view as he was smiling and trying his damn best to not laugh his ass off.
"Morgan there is something I'd like to ask you. Would you be open to a name change? I feel that calling you male Morgan and your sister female Morgan to be a bit strange. Also in battle it may be a hindrance so I feel that one of you needs to-"
"Sure!"
Robin was expecting more resistance since his name and cloak were the only things he even came into this world with. That and it's one of the few things that he even remembers.
"Under one condition though."
Robin simply raised a brow to that.
"This condition being?"
"I get to pick it."
"Alright I'll agree as long as I get to approve before it's official. So what is your first pick?"
"Mark!"
Robin just smiled as he knew that with Morgans knowledge for tactics he must be naming himself after the great tactician of Elibe.
"Okay then, Mark it is. Now I'd suggest that you go off and tell everyone what your new name is so that if your mom tries to object she can't get you to change it back."
"Oh smart one dad. With so many people referring to me by my new name, mom can't simply get me to change it back! No wonder you're the best tactician ever!"
"Yeah I don't this kind of thing gets you into the text books, but whatever. Now you go get started Mark I've got some other business to tend to yeah?"
Now the newly appointed Mark was skipping off to proudly announce his name. Since it was early Robin could try and get back to Ricken and Miriel.

"Hey Tharja, how's that contraband coming along?"
"Sorry Robin, but the dark arts are for torture and killing. Not getting little boys to become little men. I don't know of anything to help with your problem."
"Okay how about that love potion you were going to use on Vaike? I could put that to good use."
"How could you possibly know about that?"
Whoops. Robin had forgotten that she only told him about Vaike's hair and not that it was going to be used for the potion.
"Uhhhh lucky guess?"
Her probing stare hurt his face and the whole bit where flames shot from her eyes was coming back to his mind.
"I'll need to know who it's for and I'll need a hair from one of them, but you're not new to that."
"It's for Ricken and Miriel."
"...the adolescent mage and the one obsessed with her research? I see what you needed the puberty potion for, but the love potion works when the one who doesn't drink it wants the one who does to love them back. I can't possibly imagine either of them having affections for the other."
"Yeah well they do or they will damn it! Just get the ingredients for that potion going and I'll get one of them to like the other."
"That's a lot of bat wings though..."
"Do it and I'll get Vaike to stop peeking at you while you bathe."
"I actually like it when he peeks at me from the shadows. It's exhilarating from the other side..."
Again this woman was a strange one, but Vaike was just as strange. Robin had an eye for this kind of thing as a marriage with any other man might have crapped out already.
"Please get the stuff together? Isn't all of this dark arts stuff what you live for?"
"Fine, but I want something in return. Maybe if you find a good dark magic tome send it my way and not to that silver haired idiot. Making us sorcerers look bad with his goofy laughing and smiles...
000000
As Robin made his way around camp to try and find Ricken when he was confronted by Lissa with her oversized grin.
"Robin I need you to come with me back to your tent. I've got a nice surprise for you!"
Robin had read many a romance novel and he could easily see where this was going.
"Lissa I understand that Maribelle and I are currently beset by problems, but that doesn't mean my heart will betray her. I must decline your offer to ravage me in the very place that my wife and I lay our heads to sleep. I suggest that you forget about this and your desire to defile the same man that your best friend will in time."
"Yeaaaah no that's not what was going to happen. Just come on alright."
Robin was dragged back to his tent to find Morgan and Maribelle waiting for him. He was a bit concerned since he hadn't finished the final draft of his apology monologue.
"Robin dear it has come to my attention that I may owe you an apology."
This was almost as weird as that time she wanted to be friends with him the day after he saw her naked at the springs, but hey that turned our just fine in the end so this couldn't be too bad. Or maybe she was finally putting her plan into motion from back then and was going to kill him...
"I acted rashly when we confronted Lucina and I said many harsh things to her, Sumia, and you as well. Although your being intoxicated wasn't the best decision on your part I have been told that it was wrong of me to verbally lash out at you in front of everyone and I'm sorry...Robin. For everything that I've done...Robin."
It was fairly apparent that Morgan and Lissa had pointed out to Maribelle that she had been wrong in what she'd done yesterday as it was a bit of an awkward ending to her speech. That and she looked at both women for reassurance occasionally while talking.
"Er I'm sorry as well. I shouldn't have gotten drunk like I did and done whatever it was I did when I was drunk. So you're sorry, I'm sorry, we're both sorry yeah? Now why don't we find Lucina so that you can issue an apology to her too?"
Maribelle still looked uneasy about apologizing to her with both Morgan and Lissa shaking their heads 'no' to him.
"Or maybe we find her and ask her politely to tell us why she lied."
"Yes I concur. We should set out to find her and get answers for why she has lied."
"...yes. And then you can apologize to her and Sumia."
Now all four of them were making their way through camp when Frederick came rushing toward them.
"Robin we've grave news from our spies! They believe one of the children has been spotted in the North East area of Regna Ferox! He tried to approach her and warn her that the slavers are based in that area, but she ran off before he could explain!"(Paralogue 15: A Shot from the Dark)
Robin was well aware of the slavers in the area and how Flavia had put the money Plegia had given as payment for the war to good use against them. She didn't enjoy the fact that they'd flourished in war time because her forces were focused on beating Plegia and after the war was over she beat, stabbed, crushed, and castrated any and all who ever walked under the slavers banner. She had freed many of the enslaved and Chrom himself had found many dukes and other Nobles in Ylisse who had supported this enterprise. In turn Chrom had sullied their names and again freed those people. Now those slavers were a shadow of what they were and were desperate just to get their merchandise. Robin had heard that they had tried to steal people from the Feroxi army because they had almost no other options and now the Shepherds were presented with a unique opportunity. They find this girl and chances are they also learn where the actual base of operations is for these scum in the process. Then they finish the job for Flavia and do the world a favor.
"How long do we have Frederick?"
"We'll need to take a detachment of Shepherds to quickly meet this woman and save her. The others will follow on foot while the forward group will take the horses."
"Maribelle dear, are you ready to go?"
Thankfully she had become very adept with tomes and Robin had no doubts that any man, be it slaver or peeping Tom, who got too close would be burnt to a nice crisp.
"Always my dear, I am in perfect form as I am every day."
"Alright Freddy grab Lissa and lets go show these filth that they would've been better off if Flavia had smashed their family jewels with a hammer."
000000
"I AM BLOOD AND THUNDER! I AM A RIGHTEOUS FURY!...I AM YOUR FUTURE DAUGHTER!"
What the hell. This was something straight out of a nightmare especially since it was Tharja's kid. She was like the opposite of Tharja scary since she was all quiet with her hexes while this woman yelled a lot. It didn't help that she seemed like such a sweet girl before she gripped that talisman tightly...and now Tharja was taking the talisman. They were both laughing hysterically despite the young woman having what Robin assumed was a cursed talisman that Tharja had crafted for her being taken. Yes both were just laughing and laughing...and laughing. Signature Tharja laugh...
"Hehehehehehe"
Aaaaand her daughter who was clearly just as crazy.
"BWAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA!"
In retrospect Robin was glad that his kids were air headed and not whatever...this was.
Anyways it all worked out because the Shepherds had utterly destroyed the slavers and their leader was quite literally a smear of blood on the stone floor he tried to fight them on.
"Sir Robin..."
Robin was met with Lucina who seemed very uneasy and of course for good reason after yesterdays events.
"Again just Robin, there's no need to be so formal with me. Also just so you know I calmed Maribelle down and she isn't too angry anymore plus I was never angry with you so you've no reason to be so nervous."
"I am most pleased to hear it especially from you since I think very highly of you. But that isn't what I wished to discuss, I have talked to father and Frederick and they have told me that there are no plans to head to Plegia again."
"That is correct, there's no need to go back especially since we believe they tried to kill us last time."
"I have come to inform you that there is one of the children is in that area. I had traced Severa there and I don't think she's left yet."
"Severa? Whose kid is that? She's not like Noire is she..."
"No she has a bit of an abrasive personality, but she definitely doesn't vent her anger like Noire. In fact no one vents their anger like Noire. She is daughter to Cordelia and Lon'qu."
"Good I don't think I could handle that kind of thing with more than just one person. Alright well I'll try to drop by sometime with Maribelle so that we can sort this thing out. Don't need my wife to be angry with my best friends family. Bye Lucina."
"Good day Robin."
000000
Thankfully Robin had found some free time in his schedule and was going to get the ball rolling with Miriel and Ricken when he spied Panne sniffing about. Now that he thought about it he hadn't spied on her or Kellam in awhile since last time she just muffed him up and then put some of that weird salve onto his incredibly deep wounds. Tomorrow they'd be on the road to Plegia and he decided that he'd just think of a plan on the road for Ricken and spy on them today. That and Robin could put his new stealth plan into action since Panne and her sense of smell have become somewhat of a nuisance. He had specifically put aside one set of clothes that he had worn and then rolled around in Panne's little bed of twigs with. He had then followed her while wearing it and the only reason she even became aware of his presence was because he farted. All of that aside he quickly dashed back to his tent to grab his stealth suit.
*sniff*
Robin assumed she was looking for Kellam since this was usually the time that they would spar. Thanks to Kellam, Panne had started to open up to the other Shepherds albeit with Kellam standing nearby to offer support of the moral nature. Or that's what Panne told Robin, he'd never actually seen Kellam anywhere nearby...
"There you are. Are you not going to spar today?"
"How do you keep finding me? No one else can."
"I track you by your scent. You stand out like a bull in a cake shop."
Bull in a cake shop? Maybe since his sense of smell wasn't too good he wouldn't understand what that even meant.
"Oh. ...Do I smell that bad?"
"It is nothing special-all you humans smell unpleasant to me."
She must have been exaggerating because Robin bathed twice a day and he was meticulous about cleaning himself. Hell sometimes he'd have to sneak out for that second bath, but he always did it. Surely he didn't smell that bad...
*sniff*
...Okay Robin conceded that he smelled like crap at the moment, but that was exactly why he bathed twice a day.
"You're so passionate and self assured! I get excited just watching you Panne."
Damn it Robin LOCK IT IN!
"I confess that I also enjoy our chats. You have a soothing way about you. It is like rubbing my back against an old, familiar tree."
"Gosh, that's just like me. I mean, when I'm with you. Um, so here. I have something for you. It's...it's a ring that I made."
Wow Kellam just crapped on all of the men since they'd gone out and had their rings made or bought it. Then he goes off and makes one. Kudos Kellam, kudos.
"Oh? I am aware of this tradition."
"You are?"
"Yes this is the one where the male gives the female a shiny bauble and secures his right to wed. We Taguel usually decide such things through mortal combat."
For some weird reason Robin had the burning desire to shout 'Finish Him!' but of course he choked down that feeling.
"Well, um, I don't want to fight you so I can marry you. I'm not so sure I'd survive..."
"Nor do I wish to fight you. You'd likely not survive the ordeal. Here then. Give it to me."
"W-wait. You accept?"
"Of course. I know you love me. I can smell it from miles away."
"Wow that's great!"
Yes yes great indeed. But smelling things from miles away means that her sense of smell is much stronger than he anticipated...
"Now then should we see what Robin has to say?"
"What do you mean Panne?"
"I can smell him right over-"
FWOOSH
Robin was definitely not about to get caught in the middle of spying since it involved a woman and he wanted Morgan and Brady to be born in this time line.
000000
Robin had just gotten back from helping Kjelle train with a horse since she was very adamant about getting Sully train her with one. Robin was all for it since Frederick was a fine example of how a Great Knight could turn the tide and if Kjelle was successful with her training then they would have a second. Then he saw Mark talking with Nah and decided to drop in on him.
"Hey Mark how does the new name feel? Is everyone alright with it?"
"Actually dad I only told a few people and then I saw Nah praying and stuff so I've been talking to her for most of the day."
"Well that's good, getting to know the other children is smart since they don't really know who you are. You don't remember them right?"
"Unfortunately not, but me and Nah have been getting to know each other a bit better today so all is good."
"Okay well you kids have fun. Mark, Nah good day to you."
Robin had been walking for a few minutes when he stopped mid step. He thought about the fact that there were many children coming from the future and these children were about his age as well. They fought together a lot in the future and that meant their bonds would've grown, more so since it was on the brink of destruction. The potential for love to blossom between them was high maybe higher than it was for the older Shepherds.
"Hahaha hehehe HAHAHAHAHA YESSSSSSS MY JOB DOESN'T END HERE. NO ONE IS SAFE FROM MY LOVE SPELL NOW!"
"BWAHAHAHAHA BLOOD AND THUNDER! DAMNATION TO THE ONE WHO YELLS LOUDER THAN THE BLOOD AND THUNDER! I'LL KILL THE FOOL WHO THINKS HE IS STONGER THAN I!"
"Oh crap"
Robins still wasn't sure how to handle Noire and her...disability? Until he had talked to her while she was normal he was just going to avoid her and her alter ego.
000000
Robin and Maribelle were now heading toward the strategy tent as they both agreed to meet Chrom, Sumia, and Lucina there in order to find out what Lucina knew and hopefully sweep this fight under the rug. Robin pulled aside the tent flap so that Maribelle could walk through and followed her inside. Inside it was a festival of awkward as only Chrom and Robin could make eye contact with each other.
"Maybe you should start Maribelle."
"...I apologize for the rude and inappropriate things I said to you Lucina. I also apologize to you Sumia as I disrespected you with my words and actions towards your daughter..."
Good now Robin could talk to Chrom and ask Lucina about the other kids. He needed to see and know all of them before he even considered getting them together...
"...However Lucina still owes Robin and myself an apol-"
"Maribelle."
"Fine, Fine. I am sorry for my rash behavior and I accept full responsibility for my actions."
Now Sumia had the same awkward look on her face since she now had to issue a scripted apology.
"Maribelle I apologize as well since I may have overreacted. I got a little angry and I may have yelled...a lot. More than I ever have. I think I might have busted a few blood vessels when I was yelling...er anyway I'm sorry too."
"..."
"..."
Now both women were sitting there waiting for someone else to speak up as both Robin and Chrom had dozed off since this entire fight was without point. That and it only involved them since their wives were the combatants.
"Father, Robin I believe that the women have squared away their differences so now we can get back to the question at hand."
"*Snrrk* Huh what's that sweetie?"
"*Snrrk* You say something Lucina?"
"I believe yesterday I was being questioned as to why I blatantly lied to Robin and in turn Lady Maribelle as well. In a word I was being selfish."
Now everyone in the tent was staring at Lucina as she had raised more questions than she'd answered with that statement.
"I have had a little time since yesterday to collect myself and now I must tell you the truth. I lied because in my time I am the one who sent Morgan on her mission to retrieve the Fire Emblem from what was believed to be Grima's base of operations. I knew it was a mission of high risk, but we needed the emblem and so I sent a team there to get it."
Again Robin was confused as to where this story was going.
"...because of my decision Morgan was sent on a mission that ultimately got her killed. I am the one responsible for your daughters death in the future and because I was so selfish I preferred to lie rather than tell you."
Apparently Robin and everyone else in the room were at a loss for words. He honestly thought that she was going to say she and Morgan had experimented with homosexuality in the future or something. This was definitely a jaw dropper. Still Robin couldn't find anything to say as he didn't know WHAT to say. He figured that Lucina wouldn't get Morgan killed on purpose and then she said that she respected Robin greatly so telling him about how Lucina thought she got Morgan killed was probably not something she wanted to do. But the shock of knowing his daughter was dead in their future was enough to keep him silent along with Maribelle apparently. He wasn't so sure about Chrom and Sumia not talking, but they looked pretty shocked too.
"I am the one who should have apologized not you Lady Maribelle. You and Robin have every right to be angry with me. I will take my leave now."
Lucina then left the tent and now all four adults were left staring at each other in hopes of finding an answer for what they should do in each others eyes. Robin already knew what he had to do since he'd seen that look on her face before. The same one he saw when he peered into a mirror after Emmeryn had walked over the edge...
"Lucina!"
She had been staring out toward the horizon when she was torn from her thoughts by Robin.
"...Robin? Was my apology insufficient for you?"
"No of course not. I just came here to talk."
"What is there to talk about? I failed Morgan as a leader. I failed you and Maribelle by letting one of your progeny die. I failed Brady by leaving him the last of his family."
"Here Lucina sit with me."
She looked very skeptical as it seemed like Robin wasn't even listening to a word she was saying.
"Don't you hear me? I am the one responsible for your daughters death and you wish to chat of this and that? Just because you and father are such good friends doesn't mean you owe it to him to coddle me-"
"Are you done?"
She was visibly shocked at his lack of a reaction so she warily sat down near Robin.
"I know what it's like to have the lives of others riding on my calls Lucina. I understand that it is a daunting responsibility that can cause the mightiest of people to succumb to its pressure. I understand, truly I do."
"But you are Ylisse's master tactician. Few have perished under your call and all of your enemies besides Grima, a giant dragon the size of a mountain, have perished against you. Everyday in the future many faced their death under my rallies. So many people would never return to their families because I told them to fight and die. We are not the same in this respect Robin."
"Is that what you were told? That I'm some immortal, all knowing deity of strategy and I've never looked failure in the eyes before?"
The look on her face confirmed his statement.
"Do you know how your aunt Emmeryn died?"
"In order to spare Chrom the decision of choosing the Fire Emblem or his sisters life, she committed suicide. That is the reason that you went to finish off Gangrel's dying army."
"So you were never told of how what was considered one of the most monumental failures in Ylisse's history was my fault?"
"Wha-What do you mean?"
"I was tactician in that battle so the responsibility for all that happened falls to me. Despite what Chrom or my wife say, I still feel a little guilty about what happened that day. They will fight tooth and nail to get me to believe that it wasn't my fault, but as the one in charge of everyone's lives I know that when someone passes from this life to the next...well you tend to blame yourself. See Lucina? We are the same in this respect. I blamed myself for her death and sometimes I still do. After I devise some strategies for a battle I'll recreate the battle in Plegia and think of what I could have done differently. It's not healthy and I don't tell Maribelle or Chrom, but sometimes I still feel the sting of guilt. But it's okay because I do believe what they told me afterward."
"What was that?"
"I did my best. That's what matters in that kind of situation. I performed to the best of my abilities and the battle could have been much worse than it turned out. I'm sure it was the same for you. Besides I am not faced with endless hordes of risen on a daily basis. My world isn't on the brink of destruction and I have far more people that stand behind me than you had in the future. As a tactician I'll tell you that it sounds like you've done superbly in the future to have lasted so long. I guess that's it. Oh I guess for the sake of irony I'll tell you what Chrom told me. Lucina stop this nonsense! No one blames you and you shouldn't either! You did your best and Morgan would have been more than proud of your efforts!"
"You haven't changed a bit."
Robin was confused. This was one of those emotional and sappy moments which wasn't something he did often. Maybe in the future he became more sensitive or something.
"What do you mean Lucina?"
"When I was a child I had many doubts about myself. I wasn't sure if I was meant to lead the halidom after mother eventually passed away. But then you were there to keep me going, always telling me of how my father would have been so proud of me. That is why I think so highly of you. You and my friends were what kept me going in the future, every time I wanted to give up I'd remember you and I'd fight on. That is also the reason I didn't want to tell you about Morgan. I was afraid that one of my greatest heroes would come to resent me for what had happened. Here you are once again reassuring me of my actions."
"Well you're a Shepherd and that means you're a friend Lucina. You aren't just the daughter of two good friends, you'll hopefully be a valued friend of mine after today as well."
"*sniff* Thank you Robin. I am thankful that I have you in my life. I am more than glad to call you a friend now too. Thank you..."
Robin left Lucina to sniffle and cry since Maribelle would definitely get the wrong idea if Robin stayed to comfort her. Thankfully Robin went back to his tent when he did because Maribelle decided that it was time that they consummate their marriage too. He was hoping it wasn't because she was trying to make sure Morgan was born in this time line, but who was he to complain.
000000
"Hyaah!"
Robin peered at the training grounds in Castle Ylisse as Lucina went about training. She was wielding Falchion just like Chrom did with the same signature moves and smashing the dummies just as he did.
"Lucina did you smash one of those wooden dummies again?!"
Some of the attendants and soldiers weren't fond of her smashing the dummies as supplies were limited. Plus they never liked it when Chrom did it anyway.
"I'm sorry..."
She looked pretty young to be sword fighting, maybe eight or nine? Anyways she looked pretty depressed since she had been scolded for smashing yet another dummy. Robin felt like maybe she needed someone to talk to since many of the kids were just playing and the adults were trying to avert the apocalypse.
"Lucina are you alright?"
"Oh hello Sir Robin."
"It's just Robin little lady. Scoot over and lets talk. You seem down today so why don't you tell me what's up?"
"It's nothing."
"You know lying isn't what a princess should do. Just kidding Lucina besides I can tell something is wrong. You aren't really that upset about smashing another dummy are you?"
"It's just that when I do it I get yelled at and I feel like daddy would have yelled too. I think that maybe I'm not meant to be queen after mommy. Maybe you should take over since you don't disappoint so many people."
"All of this from...smashing a dummy?"
"...I'm scared of risen, the dark, and big bugs. I'm not that good with a sword and I don't know a thing about leading anyone, I can't even get Cynthia to sleep in her own bed since she's scared of the dark too. Every time I try to act like a grown up and tell her what to do she just cries to mom."
Robin just chuckled at the revelations of a young girl. Truly the life of a young princess was a hard one indeed.
"You do realize that you're only what nine? You will have plenty of time before you take the throne and lead these people. Plus I know that Chrom wouldn't have yelled at you, he'd be jumping for joy if anything."
"You're just saying that to cheer me up."
"Is that right?"
"Yeah."
"Lucina do you want to know why I know Chrom would never be disappointed with you?"
"What do you mean? Why wouldn't he be since I smashed another dummy..."
"Do you know what Chrom said after he got back from the diplomatic trip he took and Sumia's pregnancy was revealed to everyone? He danced around the halls of the castle like a fool yelling 'I'm going to be a father! Oh happy day I'll have a child and they'll be the most wondrous child in all the world!' I remember half the castle thought that he'd gone mad."
Lucina didn't look like she was in much better spirits yet.
"Do you know what he said when you were born? After you'd been wrapped in blankets he took you from Sumia's arms and ran to the streets of Ylisstol showing you to anyone who would lend an ear. He'd yell 'Look I have a daughter! Look at her isn't she the most beautiful child you've ever seen? What a woman she'll grow up to be, what a queen she'll grow up to be!' Again he danced around the city like a fool and many people joined in since they were so happy the princess had been born. Then your mother yelled at him for stealing you off only moments after you were born, but he still had a big ol' grin on his face since he was so happy that he had a daughter."
"Did he really do all that stuff Robin?"
"He did. You know what he'd say if he were right here, right now?"
She just shook her head as she was still having a hard time believing that the hardened ruler of Ylisse had done all of that and had been so excited just for her to be born.
"After you smashed that dummy he would have picked you up and run around the castle AND Ylisstol shouting 'my daughter smashed a training dummy just like her father! She is only nine and she has done something her father does as a full grown man! What a woman she is growing up to be, what a queen she is growing up to be!' He'd dance and shout with you on his shoulders. He'd praise you for all you've done so far and he'd be more than proud of the person you are becoming. I know he would Lucina because I'm proud of you too."
"Do you really think so Robin? Am I someone to be proud of?"
"Most definitely Lucina."
Now she was smiling again and she rose with Falchion in hand.
"Then I'll smash every dummy for you and father! Don't worry Robin I'll continue to be someone that you'll be proud of!"
Now she was back at it, swinging and stabbing all of the training dummies. He simply watched the child of his best friend train just as Chrom trained. Fought just as he fought. Maybe she'll die just the way he died. Well thanks to Robin, now that wretched little girl will grow to be strong and hopefully she won't be dumb enough to die with a magical shard though her. Although her trust for Robin was becoming just as strong as Chrom's trust. Who cares, maybe it will just as satisfying to stab her when she isn't looking. Like father like daughter.
