Sorry for the wait. But I had to get finals out of the way. With that done, I can finally get to work again. I'll try to make some time to write more during the break. Without further ado, let's get this chapter started.

Chapter 14: Our New Home

Laxus POV

The next morning, I woke up and looked around the room. Judging by the fixed bed opposite of me, I figured Lucy had woken up before me and gotten ready. After stretching my muscles, I got out of bed to get ready. I went to the restroom and took a shower. After showering, I brushed my teeth and got dressed. I fixed the bed and finally decided to go and look for Lucy. I walked out of the room and went to look for Lucy. I heard noice coming from the kitchen, so I went there to see if Lucy was there. Had I known what I was going to walk into, I would have stayed in my room. As I was entering, I spoke, "Lucy, you in he-…" I couldn't help but stare in shock at the scene in front of me. Laying in the ground covered with batter was Lucy, with Yukino not too far away in a similar condition, though Lucy had the most batter out of the two. The batter caused their clothes to stick to their bodies. Because Lucy had the most batter, her clothes stuck far better than Yukino's, which caused her figure to stand out a lot more. I tried to get a word out but the only thing that came out of my mouth was a "Um…Good morning?"

Lucy POV

All I could do was stare at Laxus shocked and embarrased at the position he had found Yukino and me. "Laxus! I can explain this."

"Really? Then please do. This isn't something a guy walks into every day."

"Well…"

Flashback to an hour earlier

I had just woken up saw that Laxus was still asleep. I was thinking of going back to sleep but then I got an idea. I was going to prepare breakfast for both Yukino and Laxus. I got out of bed, and went to take a shower. After taking a shower and brushing my teeth, I changed and headed out to the kitchen to start on breakfast. I decided to make pancakes, so I started to get the batter ready. As I finished getting the batter ready, Yukino walked in.

"Good morning Yukino!"

She must have still been sleepy because she replied half asleep. "Good morning…" She looked at me and then said, "What are you doing?"

"I'm making some breakfast for you and Laxus. I got up early and decided to start on breakfast."

"But you're the guest. If anyone should be making breakfast, it should be me."

"But you already let us stay the night. I think it's time I did something for you."

"I refuse! It's not showing good hospitality!"

"But I want to do this!"

We started to get louder each time we spoke.

"I said no! It's my job to make breakfast for you two!"

"No it's not! Why can't you just accept this friendly jesture!"

"Because you're a guest!"

"That's it!" I don't know what possesed me, but at that point, I was so frustrated with Yukino that I grabbed two handfuls of batter and threw them at Yukino. One handful hit her face while the other handful hit her clothes.

"Oh it's on now!" Yukino grabbed two handfuls and threw them at me. One hit me in the face and the other in my chest.

"That was my favorite shirt!" I thew more batter at her clothes, staining the short he was wearing.

"Those shorts were expensive!" She grabbed the entire bowl of batter and threw it at my chest. The force of the batter caused me to fall back on to the ground and before I could get up, I heard the door to the kitchen open.

End of flashback

"And then you walked in…"

I heard Laxus sigh and then he said, "All that commosion in the morning over who gets to make breakfast…Why couldn't you two just do it together?"

I froze at that comment and then looked at Yukino, who looked at me with the same expression that I had, once that said How did we not think of that!

"I guess…it never occurred to us. We were so busy arguing that we didn't think of it." I turned to Yukino and said, "Sorry about the mess Yukino, and about your shorts."

"And I'm sorry about your hair and shirt."

"Friends?"

"Friends!"

We then hugged and began to clean ourselves up.

When we finished getting cleaned up, Laxus spoke up. "Well, not that you two are all friendly and clean again, how about this time, you two go and rest. I'll prepare breakfast." Before either of us could argue, Laxus sent us a glare that caused us to not argue. "S-Sure, come on Yukino."

A few minutes later, Laxus called us and told us that breakfast was ready. To be honest, I expected something simple like pancakes, but that was not what was in the table. In front of us were plates with two eggs, beans, three strips of bacon each, and a glass of orange juice. "This…You made this?!"

"Yeah…I don't usually cook for others, but I guess things are different now."

Yukino, Laxus, and I sat down to eat, and after fifteen minutes, we were all done eating. "Thanks for the food Laxus. This totally beats the pancakes I was thinking of making."

"Yeah Laxus. I never thought you would be such a great chef, with the whole badass attitude with you."

"Yeah, well…Don't get too used to it. It won't happen frequently, only when I feel nice."

We talked for a few more minutes when Laxus decided it was time to go look for a place to stay. "Well, as fun as this was, I think it's time for Lucy and I to go and look for a place to stay."

"Are you sure you two can't stay here? I wouldn't mind. Especially with Laxus's cooking skills."

"Sorry but Lucy and I need to find our own place. I don't like depending on others when I can take care of things myself."

Lucy looked at Yukino apologetically and said, "Yeah, sorry Yukino, but I agree with Laxus. We'll still visit though, and I can get Laxus to cook for us later again." I shot a glare at Laxus and said, "Right Laxus?"

Laxus flinched before saying, "S-sure."

Timeskip to a few hours later

Laxus POV

We spent a good part of the next several hours looking for a place to stay. We found some options that were nice but had something wrong with them. Either the house was too expensive, or the as Lucy put it, it wasn't the right house. It was starting to get late and I was about to tell Lucy that we should continue tomorrow and that we might need to stay another night with Yukino when she dragged me to another house.

As soon as we walked in, Lucy looked around the house and came back and said, "this is it." I smiled and we went to talk to the land lord. The house was 90,000 Jewels a month. It might have seemed expensive at first, but it was actually considerate, considering what the house looked like. It had a giant master bedroom that could fit two beds, two guest rooms with a bed in each one, a fairly large kitchen, a large living room, and three bathrooms. Overall, it was a house for a family, but considering how much space it had, Lucy and I decided to get it. We decided that we would split the rent half and half. We spent the rest of that day getting accustomed to the place we would call our new home.

It felt good having a place of our own again, and as soon as we finished getting everything set up, I layed down in my bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Lucy POV

I saw Laxus fall asleep and couldn't help but giggle at it. He deserved the rest though, he had been nothing but helpful ever since he came back into my life. It was then that I decided to give Laxus a kiss on the cheek, to which he smiled and turned over in bed. I giggled again before getting ready for bed myself. As I was laying down and thinking to what has been going on these last few days, I realized something. I'm in love with Laxus.
