Happy New Years everyone! It's time for a new chapter. I'm exited for New Years since it's also my birthday! Thanks for all the support and look forward to a new year. Enough of this though! It's time for the fight between Lucy and Minerva! Let's get started! I don't own Fairy Tail.

Chapter 16: Lucy vs Minerva

Lucy POV

It was almost time. The train ride back to Sabertooth was almost over. We just had half an hour left in the ride before we arrived. It was just past 9 in the morning, so my the time we got back, I would be able to get my fight against Minerva. I was so busy thinking of the fight that I didn't notice Laxus calling me.

"…ucy. Lucy!"

I jumped from the sudden shout and turned to Laxus. "What is it?! You scared me!"

He simply smirked before saying, "Yea, well you weren't answering me. What are you thinking about anyway?"

"I'm thinking about my fight with Minerva."

He leaned in and smirked again before saying, "What? Are you chickening out?"

"What?! No! I'm just excited to finally show that Minerva how strong I really am!"

"I don't know. I wouldn't underestimate her. We don't know how strong she really is…"

"Don't tell me you think I'm going to lost?!"

"Of course not. I think you'll win. I'm just saying that don't hold back on her. You don't know how strong she is."

"I know that! I wasn't going to go easy on her anyway. I'm going to show her just how strong I really am!"

"Right. Well we're almost there so start getting your things ready."

With a nod, I set out to prepare everything. After a few more minutes, we arrived at the train station. We got off and I immediately set out to Sabertooth. I could vagely hear Laxus shout at me to slow down but I simply ignored him. Once I got to Sabertooth, I stopped at took a deep breath. I heard Laxus thunder his way to my side and with a nod towards him, I walked in.

"We're back!"

Everyone turned and just before anyone got to greet us, Minerva walked up.

"It's about time. I was getting tired of waiting. I was about to think that you chickened out!"

I immdiately crashed foreheads with her(AN: Similar to how Natsu and Gray crash foreheads) and said, "Why would I chicken out of a fight that is mine to win?!"

"I'd like to see you try and defeat me!"

"I'll gladly beat you! Come on!"

We both jumped back and got into fighting stances, but before we could start, Rufus walked up. "Now now ladies. Could you please take this outside? We don't want the guild hall getting destroyed."

We both rushed out of the guild hall and into an open field next to the guild. The entire guild, including the Master, who had heard of the fight, walked out to see the fight. Minerva and I vaguely noticed them however, since we were too busy glaring daggers at each others.

Laxus walked forward and said, "The fight person to knock their opponent unconscious wins the fight. You will have thirty minutes. If after thirty minutes neither of you is unconscious, then the match will be declared a draw. Ready?"

I nodded at the same time as Minerva and got into a fighting stance. "Begin!"

3rd Person POV

As soon as Laxus said "Begin!", Lucy charged at Minerva. Lucy aimed her fist at Minerva before shouting, "Sand Buster!" A stream of sand shot outward from her fist and dashed to Minerva. Just as the shot was going to hit Minerva, she used her magic to simply block the shot and then charged at Lucy with her fist light up with her own magic. Lucy saw Minerva charge at her with her fist lit up with her magic, so she lit her own fists up in a similar way that Loke lights his own fists when he fights. For fifteen minutes, the two traded blows with each other, neither gaining or losing ground. Finally, the two landed a hit at the same time, both hitting each other in the cheek. The two went sliding in opposite ways and stopped to stare at each other. Minerva was the first to break the silence.

"Not bad blondie. Too bad I'm just getting started."

"You're not too shabby. That was just a warm up though. Time to get serious."

Minerva suddenly put her hands together with the left hand clenched, leaving only the index and middle fingers pointing to the right hand's palm. She then opened her index and middle fingers in a "V" formation to cast a spell. She yelled out "Ih Ragdo!"

Lucy suddenly found herself trapped in a bubble-like sphere. For a few seconds, Lucy just floated in the bubble, and Minerva spoke up. "Looks like you're all bark and no bite."

As soon as Miverva spoke those words, Lucy called out, "O God of Time, Beckon my Call, Come to my side, Kronos!"

Kronos appeard and the sphere immediately disappeared. "What! How did you break free?"

"Kronos is the god of time. He simply turned the sphere back to a time where it didn't exist, and that caused it to disappear. Thank you Kronos."

"My pleasure milady." With that, Kronos disappeared.

"Not bad. But I think it's time I end this."

"Once again, you took the words out of my mouth. O God of Gods, Beckon my Call, Come to my side, Zeus!"

Zeus appeared and said, "Hello milady."

"I need you to fuse your magic with mine. It's time to finish this fight!"

Zeus nodded before sending lightning bolts at Lucy, which were absorbed into Lucy's glowing fists. Once the magic was absorbed, Zeus dissapeared.

The two mages then turned to each other and yelled out, "Let's do this!"

Minerva them moves her arms in a circular motion and started chanting,

"Niel Wielg Mion

Derse Elcantaeus

Yagdo Rigora!"

She then spread her arms wide across, and a god-like entity with intricate designs on its body appeared, which shot out a pillar of light.

At the same time, Lucy pointed her powered up fist upward and chanted, "O Regulus… Grant me your Strength!" She then pointed her fist toward Minerva and yelled out, "Regulus Impact." A lion head blasted out towards Minerva, but the lion was surrounded by small lightnings, curtesy of Zeus's lightning.

The two attacked clashed and a giant explosin followed. For a few seconds, all anyone could see was the smoke caused by the attacks. After a few seconds the smoke started to clear and the spectators looked to see who won.

When the smoke cleared, they saw both Lucy and Minerva barely standing and we're about to declare it a draw when Minerva spoke.

"Not bad… You won't be so lucky next time…" She then fell to the ground unconscious.

Everyone stood there frozen, unable to believe that Minerva lost, for a few seconds before they broke out in cheer for Lucy. Laxus ran up to Lucy and gave her a hug. "I knew you could do it Lucy!"

She gave a weak smile before saying, "Thanks…That was a lot more tiring that I would think…I'm sleepy…" Lucy then fell asleep on Laxus's arms.

Laxus POV

As soon as Lucy fell asleep, I carried her bridal style and spoke up to the audience. "Lucy is tired so I'm going to take her back home. Someone here tend to Minerva over there." I pointed to where Minerva lay unconscious and then walked off in the direction of our house.

Once I got home, I carried Lucy to her bed and laid her down. I thought she would be uncomfortable in her boots and ripped clothing so I took of her boots, shirt and skirt and then dressed her in her pink pajamas. I then pulled the cover over her and let her rest. Before I left though, I kissed her forehead and murmured into her ear, "Good job Lucy. When you wake up, I'll take you out to celebrate." I then went to my bed and decided to take a quick nap. I feel asleep replaying the match in my head and how awesome Lucy was.
