Hey there everyone. It's me again. Since school was cancelled today because of the weather, I'm able to write another chapter. Let's get started shall we? I don't own Fairy Tail. Hiro Mashima does.

Chapter 18: Sorcerer Weekly Troubles

Lucy POV

I woke up the following morning in a great mood. Yesterday was one of the best days ever. I smiled to myself before getting up and getting ready. I took a bath and then got dressed in the same style clothes as yesterday. I walked out of my room and went to the kitchen, where Laxus was waiting me with a plate of pancakes and bacon with juice on the table.

"Hey Laxus. Thanks for the food."

"No problem. Are you heading to the guild today?"

I nodded yes while eating my food. He nodded back and waited for me to finish eating so we could head out. Once I finished eating, we headed out towards the guild.

On our way there, I remembered that the last time I was at the guild, I had fought Minerva, which caused me to tense up. Laxus must have noticed me because he turned and said, "You okay?"

"You don't think Minerva is mad at the whole me beating her in a match thing?"

He stared at me for about a minute before he started to burst out laughing. "Don't tell me you're scared of an angry Minerva?"

"Of course not. I beat her didn't I? I'm just worried that because she lost that she would be too angry to be my friend."

"Is that what you're worried about? Don't worry. I have a feeling that won't happen."

"How do you know that though? You just met her."

"Call it intuition. Now let's go."

Before I could reply, he began to push me forward. I struggled for a few minutes before I sighed and gave up. After a few minutes, we reached the guild and we walked in.

The moment we walked in, everyone turned their heads to us. Once they saw who we were, most of them turned back to what they were doing, but one particular person got up and began to walk towards us. That person happened to be Minerva.

I started freaking out but not only me, but the whole guild was shocked at what happened next. Minerva walked up to me and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. "Lucy! You're finally here!"

"M-Minerva?!" I started panicking and turned to Laxus, who was simply standing there looking shocked at what was happening.

"I've been waiting for you ever since our match, but Laxus here took you for himself all of yesterday, so I couldn't get to talk to you."

"W-What did you want to talk about? And could you loosen up on the hug a bit? It's starting to hurt."

Minerva loosened up on the hug before she looked me in the eye and said, "Can we be friends? This is the first time that someone as strong as you comes to the guild, and since everyone is afraid of my strength, I don't really have friends."

I, along with the entire guild, looked at Minerva shocked for a few seconds before I broke out of my trance and gave Minerva a big smile. "Of course we can be friends! We can be like sisters! That is if you want to?"

Minerva looked at me shocked at the sister comment before she smiled and said, "Of couse we can be sisters. We'll take care of each other."

"Yeah!"

We gave each other a hug before Minerva dragged me to her table, which caused Laxus to come to her table as well. When we reached the table, I saw that Sting, Rogue, Rufus, Yukino, and Orga were walking up to us. Once they reached our table, they sat down and Sting was the first to speak, "That was interesting."

Everyone else nodded and Yukino looked at Minerva before saying, "Why didn't you say you wanted some friends instead of looking at everyone with a sour expression?"

Minerva looked down and said, "I tried at first. When I first showed my powers, everyone got scared that if they got me mad at them, that I would hurt them, so every time I tried to reach out to anyone, I was ignored. Eventually, I gave up and decided to just play the role that they had given me. I became the cold and cruel Minerva they all imagined. Once Lucy came though, I knew that I had finally found someone that I could show my true side to."

They all looked at Minerva for a few seconds before Yukino once again spoke up, "Well we'll be your friends. You don't have to pretend being someone you're not with us. Right guys?"

Everyone gave their own sign of agreement before Minerva began to sob. "I'm so glad. Thank you everyone."

I pulled Minerva into a hug and once she calmed down, she said that she was going to head to the restroom to wash her face.

A few minutes passed and we were talking about random things when Minerva came rushing to us.

"Lucy! Lucy!"

I stood up and said, "What? Why are you in such a hurry?"

She handed me the latest edition of Sorcerer Weekly and said, "Check out what's on the Sorcerer Weekly. I was coming back from the restroom and decided to check it out. Turn to page one."

I opened to the first page and looked at the picture that was there shocked. It was a picture of Laxus and me laughing and eating at dinner yesterday. The headline caused me to become even more shocked than the picture though, ' Laxus and Lucy? Love in the air?'

Reluctantly, I looked down at what they had written about us. 'Former Fairy Tail members Laxus and Lucy were seen together yesterday. They were spotted having dinner at a fancy restaurant in Crocus(AN: from now on, Crocus is the city where Sabertooth is located). They were also seen shopping for clothes and seen laughing together. Could this be love for the new rising stars of Sabertooth?' I couldn't do anything but just stand there with my eyes wide.

I must have stayed there looking like a fool for a while because Laxus called out to me, "Lucy? Are you okay?"

I didn't reply, so Laxus took the Sorcerer Weekly and looked at what was in there. Everyone else decided to check out what was so bad that had me all frozen up. Once they saw what was there, their eyes all went wide. No one's eyes went as wide as those of Laxus though. Immediately, everyone turned to us two with looks that told us that they wanted to know if that was true. They seemed to be more interested in the fact that we might be dating rather than that we were former Fairy Tail members.

For a few seconds, everything was silent before Laxus screamed out, "What the hell?!"

That snapped me out of it and I looked at Laxus with a questionable expression. "What's wrong Laxus?"

"Those bastards were following us around yesterday! Not only that but they make the assumption that we're going out? Are they crazy? Wait till I get my hands on those—!"

Laxus was about to continue ranting but then saw the hurt expression that currently occupied my face. "Lucy? What's wrong?"

Instead of telling him that I was hurt that he thought that the idea of us dating was crazy, I said, "Nothing."

I looked down and began to cry. Laxus was walking up to me and asked, "Lucy? Why are you crying?"

He was about to hug me, but I moved back and yelled out, "Don't touch me! Leave me alone!"

Laxus stood there shocked but before he could say anything, I dashed past him and ran out the guild. As I was running out, I heard everyone yelling out my name, everyone except Laxus. He just stood there completely frozen and silent.
