Hey there everyone. It's time for another chapter. Who's ready to find out what Laxus had planned for Lucy? It's time to find out. By the way, I know that Minerva seemed to be OOC, but I decided to do that. Despite everything that happened with Minerva in the anime and everything that is currently happening in the manga, I still find myself believing that she will come through and change. I also happen to find myself liking her as a character. She plays the villain role perfectly, and I hope that soon she plays the hero role soon. Am I being to hopeful? Anyway, that's enough of my ranting. Without further ado, let's go. I don't own Fairy Tail. Hiro Mashima does.
Chapter 20: Confessions
Lucy POV
We had been walking for a few minutes and from the looks of it, we were walking back to the guild. I was slightly confused but decided to trust Laxus. I couldn't, however, get what happened earlier today out of my head. It hurt when Laxus rejected the idea of us being a couple, so I dashed out before he saw me cry. Laxus had promised that whatever he was going to show me was going to make me forget all that happened today, so I was hopeful that maybe something good will happen.
After a few more minutes of walking, the guild came into sight. When I walked in, I saw that the usually elegantly-decorated guild was now decorated with party supplies and a stage had been set up at the center of the guild. When everyone noticed me walk in with Laxus, they all settled down. From the stage, I saw Minerva smile at me and not knowing what else to do, I smiled back. While this was going on, I didn't notice that Laxus was moving until he was in front of me. I looked at him for a second before he said, "Wait here. It's time for that surprise."
I stood there, not knowing what to say, so I simply nodded and stared at him walking away. Once he was out of sight, Minerva walked up to me and said, "Hey Lucy."
"What's going on Minerva?"
"It's a surprise that Laxus set up for you. After you left, he seemed to have realized something and before any of us could try and find you, he ordered all of us to help him set this up."
I couldn't help but look at Minerva and then turned to look at the stage where a mic was set up. Once I saw that and heard that Laxus had set this up, I began to have guesses as to what it was Laxus was going to do. Is he going to sing for me? THE Laxus? This can't be happening.
While I was thinking to myself, Laxus came out to the mic and tested it before saying, "I don't do this very often but today it's for a good cause. Earlier today, I seem to have hurt someone very special to me and I want to make it up to her. I also want to confess something to her, and the only way I could think to do both was to do this. This song expresses how I feel right now and what I feel about her." Laxus then turned to look me in the eyes before saying, "This is for you, Lucy."

I couldn't help but cover my mouth with both my hands while letting my tears stream down my face when I realized what Laxus was saying with this song. I was worried about whether or not he returned my feelings when in reality, Laxus was going through the same problem.

Unconsciously, I began to walk towards the stage, while continuing to cry and looking at Laxus with eyes that were filled with nothing but love. Laxus continued singing and stared at me the entire time, making sure that the words that he was saying reached me, and boy did they ever.

Once I reached the stage, I stopped and continued to listen to what Laxus was saying. I couldn't help the big smile that plastered itself onto my face while I continued to let out tears of utter joy. The man I loved loved me back and was simply waiting for me to give him the yes. It was then that I came up with an idea about how to reply to his confession. With determination in my eyes, I continued to listen and waited for him to finish his song.

At the end of the song, everyone applauded and turned to me, waiting to see what I would say. Instead, I walked up the stage, took the mic, and ordered Laxus to walk off the stage. Surprised, he obeyed and waited for me to begin to speak. I smiled down at him and then said, "That was beautiful. I can't believe something like this happened. To respond, I want to perform my own song. Hopefully this gives everyone the answer they're waiting for. This is for you Laxus."

As I looked down at Laxus, I saw him with a big smile on his face, and as I continued to sing, I couldn't help but smile back at him.

Throughout the entire song, I continued to do nothing but stare at Laxus directly in the eyes and sing with all that I had, making sure that the meaning of this song reached him. By the smile on his face and the way he was staring back at me, I would say that I accomplished that goal.

When the song ended, I smiled down at Laxus and he opened his arms. When I saw this, I smiled and jumped off the stage into his arms. He spun me around twice before setting me down. Before I could say anything, he leaned down and caught my lips with his. Around us, the entire guild cheered, but we blocked off everything going on around us, intent to focus only on the moment we were sharing. We continued kissing for a few seconds and I couldn't help but think that our lips melded perfectly with each other. Once we broke the kiss, Laxus pressed his forehead to mine, looked me in the eye and said the three words that I had been hoping to hear from him for a while now, "I love you."
I smiled back at him and pecked his lips before saying, "I love you too." With that, we kissed again, this time, more passionately. After a few seconds of kissing, I felt Laxus's tongue licking my bottom lip, asking for entrance. I granted him entrance and then felt his tongue invade my mouth. Immediately, my tongue joined his and we fought for dominance, a fight that Laxus ended up winning. He continued to explore my mouth with his tongue and then I began to suck on his tongue. Due to lack of oxygen, we were forced to separate. A strand of saliva followed our separation before breaking off and falling to Laxus's chin. I blushed at the realization that we had done that with everyone from the guild staring at us. Some looked away embarrased at such intimacy while others smiled at the fact that we were together.
Just when Laxus was about to speak, Minerva came up to me and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. "I'm so happy for you Lucy."
I smiled weakly at her and asked her if she could loosen up on the hug. She did but then she turned to Laxus and spoke in a serious tone, "You will take good care of Lucy and make her happy, otherwise you will have to answer to me. Understood?"
Laxus paled at Minerva's threat and nodded. Minerva then smiled at him and said, "Congrats then. I'll leave you two to yourselves then."
Before either or us could say anything she was gone, but not before ordering people to go back to their own things while having other people start to bring the guild back to the way it was. I turned my attention back to Laxus, who was looking down at me with love-filled eyes. I returned the look and pecked his lips.
Suddenly, Laxus picked me up bridal style and began to walk towards the exit. "L-Laxus? Where are we going?"
"We're going back home for some more privacy."
I blushed at his comment and then said, "Thank you Laxus. That was beautiful."
He blushed a little in response and then said, "It's not something I do very often, so don't get used to it." After a few more seconds, he said, "I told you that you would forget everything about earlier."
I smiled at that and then said, "Yea, you did."
-Comforting Lightning-
At Fairy Tail
Everyone at Fairy Tail was slowly returning to how they were. More fights occurred at the guild, Gray began to strip again, Erza began to eat her cake, and Natsu got into fights with Gray. Everyone still felt sad about Lucy leaving, but knew that the only thing that they could do was wait for the day that she would return and forgive them.
All the fighting and talking stopped when a loud squeal of excitement was heard throughout the guild. Everyone turned to where the sound came from, to find themselves staring at Mira jumping up and down, screaming things about blonde haired babies with brown eyes, or blonde haired babies with orange eyes.
Erza walked up to Mira and said, "What's wrong Mira?" Mira, instead of replying simply shoved a magazine into Erza's face. Erza took the magazine and realized that it was the Sorcerer Weekly. She looked at what Mira was looking and her eyes widened in surprise. Wanting to know what was going on, the guild were telling Erza to read out loud. After everyone quieted down, Erza began to read. ' Laxus and Lucy? Love in the air? Former Fairy Tail members Laxus and Lucy were seen together yesterday. They were spotted having dinner at a fancy restaurant in Crocus. They were also seen shopping for clothes and seen laughing together. Could this be love for the new rising stars of Sabertooth?'
Everyone looked shocked at the news and some of them had their jaws open, unable to comprehend what they had just heard. Mira kept on squealing out of happiness, while some people were also looking happy that Lucy was happy.
Natsu was a different story though. Once he heard that Laxus and Lucy could be dating, he felt a sharp pain in his heart and found that he didn't like that. He wanted Lucy to be happy though, so he would learn to deal with it and eventually, accept it, hopefully by the time Lucy returned, so he could greet her with a hug and congratulate her.
After everyone calmed down, Mira decided to hang the picture of Laxus and Lucy that was on the Sorcerer Weekly at the bar, where people would be able to be reminded that Lucy was recovering and that maybe soon, they would be able to finally get her forgiveness for what they had done.
There we go. Laxus and Lucy are finally a couple. Took me long enough, huh. I also finally brought Fairy Tail back into the picture, if only for a moment. I want to make something clear though. I will NOT be having Natsu chasing Lucy around like a lovesick teenager. By the time Lucy talks to Fairy Tail again, Natsu will have moved down. That's something that I want you guys to help me out with. Who should Natsu be with whenever Fairy Tail comes back to the picture in a more definite way. Lisanna is out because of what happened, so any suggestions? I don't own the two songs used in this chapter. That priviledge go to the appropriate people. Don't forget to favorite and review.
