...
I've got a secrect to tell,
A midnight confession.
I'd love a life that I'd lead,
But it's no obsession,
Because I'm waiting, anticipating
watching for your return
you'll come and get me
you know I'm ready
enjoy my stay, cuz you'll take me away
Like a thief in the night
like a runaway train
like a first class lightning fast hurricane
I'll keep my ear to the ground and my eyes to the sky
I'm ready now but somehow I know you'll take me by surprise
Michiru stepped out into the sunlight with her sunny yellow dress flowing slightly in the breeze coming off of the harbor, as well as into the dozens of flashes from the cameras. Haruka's hand touched her arm from behind as they descended from the airplane. Dozens of questions were thrown their way, but the two celebrities walked in silence towards the waiting limousine. Michiru knew Haruka would rather drive her own car back into the city, but Michiru needed the privacy. The sunglasses she wore hid the dark bags that were starting to form under her eyes from the sleepless nights, and Haruka wore her own sunglasses, hiding even darker bags.
The two ignored the paparazzi and Haruka opened the door for her partner and the woman slid into the back seat. Reluctantly, Haruka slid in beside her and for once she allowed another person to drive her to her destination. There were several minutes of silence between them as Michiru lay her head gently against Haruka's shoulder and Haruka wrapped her arm around the tired young woman.
"My manager told me to have a nice rest." Michiru said finally, a small smile coming to her face. Haruka smiled too.
"He obviously doesn't know you." Haruka said. There was going to be no rest for the weary this time in Tokyo. Not between the busy days and sleepless nights. Michiru leaned closer to Haruka's ear. The hum of the motor and distance from the driver should have been enough to block out their conversation, but Michiru wanted to take no chances.
"Have you been able to see her face yet?" The strange dream had started while they had been traveling to some of Japan's major cities for the last week and a half: for Michiru's concerts and Haruka's races. It had struck Haruka first, which was strange in itself because Haruka never dreamt and when it came to insightful premonitions and visions, Michiru was the one who had those; facilitated by her mirror. And a vision was the only thing this dream could have been. At first they thought it was nothing, but then Michiru had begun to have the dream as well. The exact same dream with the only deviation being the name called and the shape of the figures standing beside them.
"A little." Haruka whispered. "At first I thought she was Queen Serenity, but her face was different." Michiru nodded.
"Her voice as well." There was more silence. Ever since their awakening they had fought aimlessly with no real purpose to their battles. This dream was the only true lead, but neither knew what it meant. Of course they knew about The Silver Crystal, but as to where to look neither had a clue. They had hardly interacted with The Silver Crystal in their past life, and now this lack of information was hurting them greatly. "If only Pluto were here." Michiru sighed. "She would be able to help me interpret it all, and she was much closer to The Queen then we were." Haruka nodded slowly. They had not found any trace of their fellow companion, but then again it was not a good idea to go searching for her. If their three Talismans interacted like they had at the fall of The Silver Millennium, then she would awaken. Haruka shivered a bit and Michiru looked up at her. Haruka could not hide her discomfort. If she awoke, that Soldier of Ruin, then all would be lost, and they would never be able to interpret the dream; they would never be able to fix things.
But what was there to fix?
Michiru and Haruka had had this discussion a thousand times before, and not just since the dream began. Ever since the day at the park, the day they had first felt the Earth's call for help, the two Senshi had pondered over what it could mean. There was no new enemy. Only a few pockets of the pestering Dark Kingdom arose now and again but there seemed to be no organization to it all. Sailor V seemed to have those pockets under control anyways, and the two older Senshi saw no reason to enter the fight. It wasn't their realm of responsibility to begin with.
"Do you think Saturn was reborn in this time period?" Haruka asked, needing her discomfort swept away. Michiru stayed silent for a moment thinking.
"It stands to reason yes." Michiru said finally. Haruka sighed; then they could not risk searching for Pluto. Michiru's eyes closed and Haruka tightened her grip around the woman. Michiru's hardened face had fallen into a peaceful soft look that she always had while playing her violin. It was as if she were drifting off into another world, but leaving Haruka behind.
"I want a baby." Haruka's lips moved involuntarily and before she could stop it, her voice had rang out. Michiru's peaceful face shattered as her eyes open wide in shock. They had gone from talking about the Soldier of Ruin to a totally different subject entirely and one Michiru had never ever thought would come up, especially not from Haruka!
Despite the statement being random and out of the blue, Haruka couldn't take it back like she wanted to either. It had come from nowhere, that desire to have a family, but it had hit her just the same, and it had hit her hard. It wasn't the first time either, but it was the first time she had spoken it out loud. The other times it had come, she had been able to bite her tongue or had been alone. And those times it had hit out of the blue as well: driving with Michiru and resisting the urge to glance once more into the back seat imagining she saw a car seat, looking into the mirror and thinking she saw someone moving behind her, or simply setting the table and having to remind herself that it was just two plates and not four.
"Haruka?!" Michiru lifted her head off of her lover's shoulder and stared her in the eyes, and to Michiru's amazement, Haruka's gaze was completely serious. "And how?" Michiru said suddenly very angry. "Two young women a year out of high school taking care of a little child?" She asked.
"Two with very flourishing careers." Haruka reminded.
"With very demanding careers!" Michiru corrected and then she hushed her voice. "And not to mention the fact that they have a secret life on the side." Haruka turned her head and avoided Michiru's gaze. "Haruka..." Michiru sighed and she lay her head back down on her shoulder. "It can't happen. What would we do?" Michiru asked. "How could we go out at night and fulfill our duty as Senshi? How could we find out what is wrong with this Earth?" Michiru shook her head. "We have a duty, and we cannot put it aside even if... even if we wanted to." Haruka adjusted her legs, suddenly very uncomfortable with all of the sitting she had done in the last few days. "And it would just endanger her when she got older." Michiru said continuing quietly. "The enemy could use her against us, and she wouldn't be able to defend herself. She wouldn't be a Senshi like us. She wouldn't have the blood of the stars within her, just an ordinary human we adopted." Haruka was rubbing her hands on her legs. She needed out of this car and into the rushing wind.
"I know." Haruka said finally after the two had remained silent for a moment. The silence filled the limousine again and Haruka's muscles were crying out to move. "But if I can't have a child..."
"What?" Michiru lifted her head up off of Haruka's shoulder, and Haruka was smiling down at her as her hand fingered the handle of the car door.
"Then I reserve the right to act as childishly as I wish." Michiru frowned.
"Like how?" Haruka motioned to the door with her head and Michiru stared at her hand on the handle and Michiru smiled in spite of herself. "It wouldn't be the dumbest thing you've ever done." Michiru said finally in a whisper.
"Would be great practice for all of the near escapes we are sure to have in the future." Haruka said and Michiru nodded.
"Well of course, we wouldn't do anything so foolish if it weren't for our duty!" Michiru said seriously, but entirely in jest. The limousine was slowing down and Haruka fingered the door handle more quickly, her legs about to explode.
"Ready?" Michiru smiled mischievously and nodded as she scooted closer to the door. The car stopped at the nearby light and the two young woman bolted out of the vehicle.
"Hey!" The driver was yelling after them, but the two were already running away. Michiru laughed warmly and Haruka smiled at the sound. It had been a long time since the two had done anything so childish, and the sound of Michiru's bubbly laugh hardly ever made an appearance anymore. She was always so serious and hardworking, but underneath, Haruka knew, that there was a fun loving girl waiting to come out. The two continued to run until Michiru began to slow down appearing to need to catch her breath. Haruka stopped and walked back slowly to her partner's side.
"A little out of shape are we?" Haruka poked and she pointed to the woman's high heels. "You can't use those as an excuse!" Michiru's smile widened.
"Nope!" The woman raced forward catching Haruka off guard. "I'll beat you to the park!" Michiru called over her shoulder and Haruka sped after her. She was not going to lose! She was the Soldier of The Wind, and she was not going to be beaten that day or any day! She was almost on top of Michiru once more when the young woman stopped in front of her. Haruka dogged her and sped by.
"Not fooling me again!" Haruka called over her shoulder, but Michiru was not leaning over trying to catch her breath this time. She was staring back towards the way they had come. Haruka slowed to a stop but she did not start walking back thinking perhaps it still might be a ploy on Michiru's part. "Michiru?" Michiru did not look at her, but instead she bolted towards the direction she had been staring. "Michiru!" Haruka raced back to where Michiru had been and stared after her. Michiru was in a heated run, and Haruka stood there perplexed, but she knew she had to follow. Michiru's instincts were better formed then Haruka's because of her awakening earlier and her more natural inclination towards things Haruka did not understand.
Michiru seemed to be chasing after someone on the other side of the street.
Michiru had seen him in the corner of her eye. At first glance he hadn't seemed special. Michiru had run past the entrance of the library just as he had exited the building and turn in the opposite direction of Michiru's run. It hadn't even fazed Michiru, and she had pressed forward in a heated race against Haruka. She would win this race! She would... then the memory had struck. It was just for a brief instant, but it had taken her breath away and stopped her running instantly. Her head had whipped around back towards the way she had come and towards the way he had been walking. There had been nothing said in the memory, but he, or someone very much like him, had been standing there in front of Michiru while she was holding her mirror. Something peculiar had flashed in between them and onto her mirror, but Michiru could not make out what it had been. It had been such a strange memory; taking place in neither the past nor the present. Perhaps Michiru should have called it a premonition, but it hadn't felt like that at all. She didn't understand it, but she hadn't understood many things recently. Michiru's legs began to push off of the sidewalk and Michiru weaved in and out of people once more. He had been crossing the street but Michiru could not find him. She avoided colliding with a tall business man with long brown hair and the man shouted at her not to run on the sidewalk, she ignored him. She had to keep running in order to find the man again, in order to find some answers! She was back at the library again and Michiru's gaze was fixed on the other side of the road. There was no warning as the door swung open and Michiru didn't have time to stop before colliding with the blue haired girl who stepped out.
The two hit hard and fell to the ground with a sickening thud. Michiru hadn't slowed any from her frantic chase and her bare knees skid against the sidewalk.
"Michiru!" Haruka shouted from a few yards behind them, but Michiru was already looking around frantically for the man once more out of the people surrounding them.
"Are you alright?" There were a chorus of people asking her, but Michiru had no time for them. She stood up quickly ignoring the horrible pain in her body.
There he was. She was the back of his head as he turned the corner and she dashed forward separating the sea of rubberneckers that had stopped around her and the other girl.
"Michiru!" She heard Haruka cry out for her, but she couldn't stop and wait for her partner to back her up. She had to keep him in her sights if she wanted to continue to follow after him. Several other people were calling after her besides Haruka, but she ignored them as well. Her duty to this Earth surpassed any she had to apologizing or explaining to complete strangers. Michiru turned the corner just in time to see him turn once more and she chased after him again, collecting stares as she went, but she did not care. Her breathing was becoming heavier as she went but she could not stop. She had to catch him.
Haruka watched as Michiru picked herself up and rush away from the scene before anyone could even ask her more than a single questions. The girl she had hit sat dazed and rubbing her head and Haruka slowed as she debated chasing after Michiru or taking care of the growing crowd. Haruka watched as Michiru disappeared around the corner and she let out a heavy breath. She wouldn't be able to catch up with this crowd of people, and it would be irresponsible for Haruka to leave Michiru's mess behind. At least that was her excuse, the truth was that Michiru already had too much of a head start for Haruka to even dream of catching her. But if she was chasing after something dangerous... Haruka groaned and sped forward in the direction Michiru had run.
Michiru had lost him. She had been chasing after him and slowly it appeared that she would catch up, but then she had turned one more corner and he hadn't been there, she had then raced to the intersection in search of him and turned the corner, but the man was gone...
"No!" Michiru gasped as she frantically looked around for the top of his head. "No..." She wheezed again and she put her hands on her head as she tried to catch her breath. He was nowhere to be seen, but she couldn't see where he had gone. She looked across the street as she stood in the shadow of a large wall. Slowly a chill crept up Michiru's back and an evil sensation filled her. Her eyes moved slowly and Michiru began to turn around. The wall behind her went on and turned at the corner Michiru had just come around. She began to walk the way she had come and as she looked around the corner the sight of a large black gate made her blood run cold. Michiru walked up to the gate and looked through the bars up towards the large mansion behind it. No lights came from it but the area was growing darker and darker by the moment. Michiru's breath had steadied, and her eyes had narrowed as she looked at the mansion. The evil aura that had crept up her back was emanating from this place and Michiru felt like she had sensed this presence before...
Haruka had given up trying to find Michiru. She was nowhere to be seen and those she asked had not seen her come this way.
Great.
So Haruka made her way towards their apartment hoping Michiru would be there. She had felt no stir in the wind or sky to signify anything out of place, but that did not mean that Michiru hadn't. Haruka sighed as she walked on. She just hope Michiru was alright and not hurt serio-
"Haruka." Haruka jumped and turned quickly to see Michiru standing behind her.
"Michiru, what the heck happened?!" Haruka exploded in anger in order to cover her relief and panic. Michiru's knees were covered in blood and a few streaks of dirt and blood were on her face as well as a black scuff on her new yellow dress. But more importantly, her eyes were dark and serious, the whole depths of the ocean revealed itself from within them. "What?"
"We have something to investigate tonight."
Sailor Uranus looked Neptune over as she peered up towards the top of the stone wall. She looked so beat up. Her transformation could not hide the deep bags under her eyes, nor the blood-stained cloth covering her gashed knees. Her face and arms were clean now, but every now and then her knees would start to bleed again and trickle down her long, white legs. It didn't bother Sailor Neptune though as much as it did Uranus. Her mind was made up and her eyes reflected this determination to find answers. Uranus had to agree with her, though in her anger she had wanted to refuse. The image Michiru had produced on her mirror had been peculiar and only caused more confusion in an already confusing situation.
"We had been standing facing one another and I had produced my mirror. I had tilted it in a way that he could see it along with me." Michiru had said as she looked into her mirror while sitting on their couch. Haruka had been helping her clean herself up, but then she stood behind her lover in order to view the image Michiru was portraying on the mirror. The man's image in the mirror was slightly clouded, but Haruka could make out a few of the details on his serious face as well as his narrowed blue eyes. The strangest detail Haruka could make out though was the fact that the hands holding the mirror were covered in long white gloves.
"You were transformed?" Haruka ventured and Michiru nodded, a deep scowl on her face.
"Something had happened after that." Michiru had said and on the mirror something had occurred on Sailor Neptune's mirror that they could not make out, but it had clearly disturbed the man. Michiru closed her eyes. "His disturbed nature only paralleled my own." Michiru said in a dark, low tone. "An evil premonition had crossed over my mirror, but what it had been I cannot say." Her eyes opened. "This memory makes no sense to me." Michiru said and Haruka had sat down beside her. "It was not one from my past, but it has not happened yet here in the present." Michiru explained.
"So its a premonition of things to come?" Michiru shook her head.
"I don't know. I felt as if it has already happened, but obviously it hasn't."
"So why the mansion?" Haruka asked. Michiru had sighed and had placed her mirror onto her lap.
"It was full of darkness and an unexplainably strong evil presence." She had explained. "I believe he had disappeared into that house, but I cannot be sure. Yet it is the only place he could have gone to escape my view." Haruka had nodded in understanding, and that was why she was now standing transformed in a darkened street looking up to the top of a stone wall.
The defenses of the mansion were strikingly lacking considering the wealth behind the walls, but there were probably hidden dangers once they arrived at the mansion. One likely possibility was the presence of an alarm system, but the two Senshi would have to risk it.
"You ready?" Sailor Uranus asked and Neptune nodded, her face hardened. She bent her knees and she jumped over the wall, the bottoms of her high heels barely missing the top the wall as she flipped over it. Sailor Uranus followed suit and she had slightly better distance than her partner. She landed next to her partner on the ground below the wall. If an alarm had gone off, they would have no way of knowing. Sailor Uranus doubted it though since no normal person would be able to go over the wall without touching the top, and that was the most likely place for an alarm.
Getting into the mansion would prove to be a bit more difficult.
"So now what?" Sailor Neptune took out her Talisman once more and peered deep within it. A cold chill swept through Sailor Uranus and she felt the evil presence just like Michiru had discribed. It was stronger than she had expected and she saw why Michiru thought it deserved an inspection. It did feel strangely familiar to her... "A secret basement? A state-of-the-art evil lair?" Sailor Uranus asked in jest. Sailor Neptune looked back up at the mansion for a moment and then back to the mirror in order to confirm her findings.
"There is a strong presence on the second floor." Sailor Neptune said stepping forward to investigate a way to get up there. She pointed to one of the three trees semi-near the second story. "The area to the left of that tree had the strongest presence." Sailor Neptune said and Sailor Uranus followed after her crouching down to keep the coverage of the shrubs near the stone wall. A sea of grass expanded between them and the tree and it would be a mad dash to get to the tree before being spotted. Sailor Neptune followed her example and crouched down in front of her, but Uranus saw her grimace as her knees bent.
They made it to where they had a straight shot to the tree, and they sat there observing the area around the tree and their prospective point of entry. It seemed unoccupied at the moment but that did not mean there was no one near that room deeper within the mansion. Sailor Neptune's breathing was becoming harder as she leaned forward preparing for a frantic sprint.
"We never did get to finish our race." Sailor Uranus said as she prepared as well. Sailor Neptune smiled beside her.
"I was going to win anyways."
"I don't think so."
"What? You doubt my speed?" Neptune asked in fake surprise. "Didn't I lose you while chasing after our mystery man?" Sailor Uranus was getting antsy from waiting, but she had to defend her pride.
"There was a crowd."
"Right." Neptune said. Sailor Uranus had one final defense.
"I try not to make a habit of knocking down pretty girls like someone I know."
"Oh, was she pretty?" Uranus blushed; she actually hadn't looked well enough to know.
"Of course, not as pretty as you."
"Nice save." Neptune said bending down farther, her legs ready to jump forward. "Enough talk."
"Yeah, we got some unfinished business, and this time you can't cheat and steal-" Neptune had sprung forward and Uranus cursed under her breath as she jumped up, and her legs pumped hard in order to regain the distance Neptune had stolen.
The ledge of the window was wide enough for both of the Senshi to stand comfortably as Sailor Uranus looked over the window. She could see the wires indicating an alarm that would go off if the window was opened from the outside and she cursed again. She hadn't expected an well thought out alarm system on the second floor, but when a mansion was this decked out it would seem careless to not have one.
"We can't get in this way." She said looking up at Neptune. Her lover frowned and she observed the alarm as well.
"We have to get in." She looked around at the other windows, but none of them looked open. "What about the roof? Did you see anything up there? A chimney or something?" Uranus frowned. Being Santa had not been on her list of things to do today; only beating Neptune in a race had been and that had backfired as the blue haired Senshi had reached the bottom to the tree a second before Uranus, she had been unable to close the gap Neptune had stolen.
"I can always cut through the glass and open it from the inside." Uranus said revealing her sword. Neptune's frown deepened.
"Then the alarm would still sound and they would know we had been here." She said with a bit of anger. "Put that thing away." Uranus obeyed and she frowned in disappointment. Neptune glared at the window again.
"Perhaps I can short it out." She mused. "It would risk it going off, but we would have a better chance that if you cut it."
"Can you do that without blasting the whole window out?" Neptune put her hand to her chin and then shook her head.
"No." She said finally. They stood there silently. How long could they stay there without someone seeing them? Thankfully they were not facing the road, but that did not mean they were safe from the gaze of people in the distant buildings.
"Now what?" Uranus asked and Neptune's gaze went up towards the roof and Uranus sighed. "Fine." She said bitterly as she prepared to jump upwards. "Let's just hope they don't use those things."
They did. At least, once in a while, and when Uranus had peeked her head to see if there was anyone in the room, her face was covered in ash. Making sure that they left no footprints was going to be impossible. Neptune and Uranus sat there in the ash trying to decide how to proceed.
"Let's undue our transformations." Neptune said and Uranus stared at her in disbelief.
"What if we're seen?"
"We'll retransform again and then our outfits will be clean." Uranus frowned. She wasn't sure how that worked exactly, but she knew that it would.
"Okay." She let her transformation come undone and she stepped out onto the rug, her shoes leaving nothing behind, but a bit of ash fell down from the fireplace, just enough to be noticeable later. "Great." Michiru stood beside her, her own bit of ash following her.
"It'll be find. It just fell out of the fireplace, nothing suspicious about it. As long as nothing from the mansion is missing they won't think anything about it." Haruka nodded in a sort of agreement. She guessed if they weren't looking for clues it was going to be alright. "Shall we transform again?"
The two transformed and their Sailor Suits looked as clean as when they had first transformed years ago.
"Convenient." Uranus remarked but Neptune was already observing her mirror and walking forward. The room they were in apparently had nothing of importance according to the mirror.
"We must make our way down the hall." Neptune said tilting her mirror to allow Uranus to see. "These two rooms here along the outside wall have the most negative energy." Uranus nodded as if she understood how to interpret the mirror, but Neptune knew that she had no clue what the images on the mirror meant unless Neptune explained them.
The hall was deserted, but the two walked slowly in case there were people in the other rooms. No lights were on, but that did not mean they were not bedrooms. No one appeared within the hallway and they heard no one. The mansion seemed deserted. From the outside there had been limited amounts of lights on and now that Uranus thought about it that seemed suspicious that such a small family lived in such a grand mansion. They had looked up on the family that lived there, only two people, an older man and his mysterious daughter. The father was always in the newspapers: Yoruno Ryuu, one of the richest men in Japan. His daughter was less public: Yoruno Kimi. She would be mentioned occasionally throughout the articles, but never any pictures. The only picture they could find of her was of the recent ball announcing her engagement, but even then her face was covered by a mask. The so-called fiancé's picture was nonexistent and his name was never mentioned in any of the articles. The whole situation gave Uranus a strange feeling. There was too much mystery and suspicious behavior surrounding this place and Uranus didn't even need Neptune's intuition to see it. The evil presence was just the final red flag.
The first room Neptune had determined as suspicious was just an ordinary bedroom; an empty bedroom. The bed looked slept in, but whomever had been there was now gone. Uranus observed the room, and Neptune shook her head as she looked into her mirror.
"There is nothing strong here; it's only the echo of something. The true source of the evil is gone." She said.
"The person?" Uranus asked.
"Or an object with the person." Neptune said. "But a single object, or person for that matter, should not give off such an evil presence." Uranus looked the room over again.
"You could be missing something," She said, and Neptune's eyes narrowed and then she shook her head.
"No."
"What about the other room?"
"The presence is not as strong there; perhaps it is just another echo." Uranus walked to the door.
"Only one way to find out." Neptune walked slowly behind her and Uranus peeked into the hallway, but as expected, no one was in view. The room they investigated next was just a few doors down and at first glance it appeared to be an ordinary office. Yet what exactly it was used for was uncertain. There were no profit charts, there were no drafts, no plans, no...
There were a ton of newspaper articles. A ton! Some of them ranging back from three years before and all had reoccurring themes:
Sailor V, Dark Agency, Kaitou Ace, Tuxedo Kamen, and... Sailor Moon?
That name? Where had Uranus heard it? She grabbed hold of the newspaper, it was today's newspaper, or yesterday's actually. Perhaps she had read the newspaper, but... she hadn't, she was certain of it. The picture of the shadowy woman's picture threw Uranus for a loop.
"Neptune!" Her partner stepped closer and looked down at the picture. Sailor Moon's face was covered in shadow, her hair wrapped around her neck, and...
"It's her!" Neptune gasped, saying exactly what Uranus was thinking. Uranus peered over the picture taking in every detail of her shadowy face. It was her! That woman from their dreams, but... she seemed different. She seemed younger. It didn't matter thought: it was her!
Haruka-san...
This figure was smiling though, instead of having the gentle tears Uranus had come to hate. So many tears, and Uranus could do nothing to stop them from falling nor could she fix the deep sorrow penetrating the woman's voice.
"Phantom Sailor Senshi Appears Along With Sailor V." Neptune read over her shoulder. The image's source seemed to be a security camera of a jewelry store in the Juban Shopping District. "Sailor Moon..." Neptune spoke as if she were trying out the name. "I don't remember there being a Sailor Moon in the past." She said looking to Uranus for answers.
"Don't look at me, you always kept in touch more than I did!" Neptune frowned and she looked around the office. She opened some of the drawers but Uranus couldn't take herself away from the picture.
"All that way for a newspaper article," Michiru said in anger as she sat down on the couch of their apartment. Haruka sat down next to her and she wrapped her arm around her and Michiru stared into her mirror.
"Haven't you used that thing enough tonight?" Michiru rested her head against Haruka's chest and she sighed as her eyes closed. She looked exhausted.
"At least we didn't have to climb up the chimney to get out of the house." Michiru said. "I don't think I would have had the energy." She was drifting off to sleep in Haruka's arms right there.
"Let's get to bed." Haruka kissed her forehead and Michiru hummed her agreement, but she made no move to get up, she only continued to lay her head on Haruka. "Come on," Haruka said lifting Michiru up off of her and the tired woman followed her lead and stood up with Haruka's support. It had been a long, tiring day.
"Do you think she will come to us again?" Michiru asked her eyes closed as Haruka led her to their bed.
"It would stand to reason yes." Haruka said, repeating what Michiru had told her earlier.
"Sailor Moon..." Michiru whispered as Haruka laid her in bed. "I hope we meet up soon." Haruka smiled and kissed her forehead as she laid down next to her and wrapped her arms around her lover.
"I think we will." Haruka whispered, but it was a blatant lie. It was not going to happen that way, it was not their way nor their duty... Michiru snuggled down closer to Haruka knowing this as well, but still willing to go along with it.
"I hope so..." Michiru's voice trailed off as she drifted into the darkness of sleep. Haruka lay there with her eyes open as she watched Michiru drift off into that world where Haruka was left behind.
