A/N: Hang on to your hat(s), it's about to get crazy here in the next few chapters!
"Hey, guys?" MacGyver asked when they stopped for a moment. "I'm going to take a quick bathroom break. Don't go anywhere."
O'Neill grinned. "Wouldn't think of it. Anyone else?"
Major Carter went off back the way they'd come to find the ladies' room, while MacGyver headed in the opposite direction.
As soon as they'd both disappeared out of sight, Jack suddenly got that weird something's-about-to-go-horribly-wrong feeling prickling up the back of his neck. Years of experience taught him to not ignore that sensation, so he was on high alert.
Five minutes later, Jack turned sharply when he realized that Daniel was no longer standing next to him. His mind instantly jumped to the worst possible scenario, and with his hand on his concealed weapon, he scanned the area for any clues to where his errant linguist had wandered off to.
Just as he was about to open his mouth to warn Teal'c, he spotted Daniel over by a nearby cafe. Another few minutes passed before he made his way back toward the small group, coffee cup in hand.
Another five minutes and both Major Carter and MacGyver had rejoined the group, and they continued.
Having everyone safely under his watchful eye once again, Jack led his group onwards.

It was another short walk to the inside of what was now the SGA. Still technically a restricted military area, the security was nothing like what Major Carter had been through daily in Cheyenne Mountain. She simply showed her USAF ID, which she had with her at the time of their jump to this reality. They had to do some explaining for MacGyver, but they eventually let him in.
After checking in with General Hammond "topside", as they called it, the five of them were assigned base quarters, and they quickly made themselves at home.
"So, this is kind of like a watered-down version of the SGC? I mean, the SGB?" Major Carter asked Daniel.
"Yeah." He confirmed. "I decided to move up to the SGB, because, well, I already had the security clearance for one, but they also got to keep all the fun stuff up there. This place technically runs the gate, but it's mostly show for the public's sake."
"The original dialing computer resides here," Teal'c added. "Our Colonel Carter was able to create a more efficient version for the SGB."
Major Carter made a mental note to ask her counterpart about that.
"So Daniel, Teal'c, is there anything that passes for a lab around here?" She grabbed her bag that contained the project that she'd been working on.
"I'd like to get started as soon as possible."
"Of course." Teal'c opened the door for her and led the way.

Colonel Carter and her double were back inside a lab of some kind, working on the device that would connect to the Stargate's dialing computer. That was an unforeseen advantage, having both Carter's knowledge of the computer system in use.
They had been at it almost six hours before one of the O'Neill's went over there with food for them.
"Hey Carters." He said, choosing not to mess with their conflicting ranks. "How's it goin'?"
Colonel Carter looked up from her laptop. "Uh, fine. Just a minute."
O'Neill chucked."Yeah, I've heard that before. Come and eat, both of ya."
"I'll be right there." They both replied at the same time.
Both of them looked up suddenly, seemingly surprised to see the other one in the room.
"Did you two seriously just surprise each other?" O'Neill asked, laughing. They both glared at him until their gaze fell on the plates of food in his hands. Major Carter pushed over a pile of books and doohickies so O'Neill could set them down.
Colonel Carter quickly shut down her simulation and joined her twin.
O'Neill crammed his hands in his BDU pants pockets. They'd agreed to stick to different colors, green for the SG-1 of this reality, and blue for the newcomers.
There were small physical and technical differences between the two teams, but one had to be highly observant. The most obvious was the rank change for the Carters, but the Daniels had slightly different haircuts and glasses. Between himself and the other O'Neill, he seemed to have a few more gray hairs than the other guy. Maybe Daniel hadn't gone glowy here yet.
The Teal'c's, well, that was anyone's guess. The guy was just as big and Jaffa-y as he was on the other Earth. Even the Carters couldn't tell them apart, save for their uniform colors.
O'Neill turned and was about to leave the room when a sharp cry caused him to whirl around again. Major Carter was bent double, both arms wrapped around her stomach. Colonel Carter jumped up and rushed to her, just in time to help her to the ground as her knees buckled.
As O'Neill arrived at her side, her body started to strobe just like he'd seen Dalton do just a few hours earlier. The two of them waited for what felt like an eternity, but in reality, it was only five minutes. Finally, her body relaxed, and they turned her gently onto her side.
O'Neill looked across at Colonel Carter. He knew the implications of the Carters being the next pair affected, and by the look on her face, she knew it too. They were running out of time.

"That's not fair!" Carter protested loudly from her bed in the makeshift infirmary that Colonel Carter set up. She had grudgingly allowed her to look after her under the guidance of Dr. Fraiser, who had more experience dealing with such matters.
Seeing that she was bored out of her mind, Daniel challenged her to a game.
Of Scrabble.
"Daniel, that's not even a word!" Sam pointed at his latest addition.
"Quietschentchen is too a word." He didn't bother mentioning to Sam that he'd misspelled it on purpose, omitting one 'e' so that it fit on the board.
"Just not an English one." He added.
She sighed. "Do I even want to know what it means?"
He smiled. "It's German for 'rubber duck'".
She put her head in her hands. "Remind me to never play Scrabble with a linguist ever again."
"Hey! It's not like you're using English either! I mean, what even is 'spectroscopic' anyway?"
"Well, basically it refers to spectroscopy, which is an area of study that interprets electromagnetic spectrum that are formed by the reactions of different elements. It's quite a fascinating phenomenon, and can be quite colorful."
Daniel sighed. "Remind me to never play Scrabble with an astrophysicist."
Just then, MacGyver strode into the infirmary.
"Hey, guys. How's it going?"
Daniel smiled at him.
"It's going great, Mac. Do you like being called Mac? Or just MacGyver?"
"Mac is fine," he smiled. "I don't mind either way. Who's winning?" He gestured to the Scrabble board.
"Me," Daniel said. "Though it's limiting to stick with languages that use primarily the English alphabet."
MacGyver's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow. That's impressive." He suddenly noticed Carter's arm.
"What happened to you?" He asked, pointing at the white bandage.
She glanced at him. "Staff blast? At the quantum mirror when we first got here?"
Realization dawned on his face. "Oh yeah. That feels like forever ago." Carter glanced at her watch.
"Actually, It's only been about thirty-five hours."
Mac nodded. "Time flies. I'll catch you later." He smiled and walked out of the infirmary.
A/N: Did you catch it?
Also, do you think the chapter ending was a bit abrupt? I didn't know where else to end it, sorry!
