Chapter 26 – Laughter & Happiness

"Counts are clean!" Dr. Roads walked in with a smile, "Are you ready?" he asked, I shrugged my shoulders, "I'm ready to be done with chemo," I told him, he nodded in agreement, "I'm ready for you to be done with chemo," he said with smile, "You have been to hell and back with this chemo so you better be done,"

"I can second that," Troy said, I looked at him as Lo was situated in his lap. She had been extra attached to Troy lately and leaving her behind anywhere was ridiculous. Lo helped Troy with the game he was playing as he shook his head but she insisted almost making the move for him so Troy did it and then the winning thing popped up on the screen. Troy looked surprised and then looked at Lo, "Obviously you are better at this than me," he said handing the cell phone to her, she giggled and began to play again.

Dr. Roads laughed as I shook my head, Troy looked up at me as he smiled, "She has your brains,"

"All of them have my brain, thank the lord above," Troy rolled his eyes, "Whatever,"

"Actually, Liam has your brain and this is why he is in this mess with his sister," Troy rolled his eyes, "I would have never done what he did,"

"But if I talked you into it,"

"Well," I shook my head as he laughed, "Fine, we are the same damn person,"

"Pretty much,"

Lo looked at me as she moved in Troy's lap. Her hand reached for one of the tubes but Troy drew her hand backwards, she cried in protest as he shook his head, "Lauren," he said, "You can't do that,"

"I want mommy,"

I laughed as this was the first time she had said this in the past couple days. Troy rolled his eyes as I nodded, "Give her here," I said, I moved my wire away as Troy placed her into my lap. "Hi mommy,"

"Hi Lo," she smiled, "What is that?" she asked pointing at it, "Medicine," I told her, "I want some!" Troy snorted, "No, you don't sweetie,"

"I want to be like mommy!"

Troy let a smile shift over his face, "You don't need to be like mommy right now," Troy said, "No!" she whined, she crawled off my lap and sat on the floor. Troy sighed as he bent over to pick her up. "Do you want a piece of candy?" he asked, "No,"

"Oh boy," Troy said with a shake of his head, "Lo remember, if you were going to come you have to be good," she looked at me as I opened my arms, "Come cuddle with mommy," I told her, she sighed and she stood up to crawl back into my lap. I kissed the top of her head, "Maybe we can convince daddy to go and get you and I some ice cream," I whispered into her ear, she giggled and looked at Troy. Troy looked at each of us with a raised eyebrow.

"Excuse me? Do I look like a servant?" he asked, I smiled as Lauren giggled, "Yes, yes," Lauren said, "You are," Troy laughed as he leaned forward, "You are crazy," Lauren laughed again, "Ice cream!" she cheered, Troy looked at me and I shrugged. Troy sighed, "Do you want to come with me Lo?"

"Yes!"

She hopped up and grabbed Troy's hand as he looked at me, "You'll be okay right?"

"Right,"

He smiled as he kissed my forehead before Lo dragged him off. I sighed as I watched her; she looked up at Troy, her ponytail spilling down her back as Troy looked down at her as I smiled watching them. Troy smiled at her as she giggled, Troy laughed himself as he picked her up and tossed her into the air as the elevator arrived. I loved every minute I got to witness with my family.

Emma's POV

I ducked my head as I opened my locker, I hid behind it as every since I flipped out on Liam people pointed, people laughed, people wondered what the hell I was doing. I sighed as I grabbed the different books I needed then shutting it.

Alexa was on the other side of the door as she gave me an apologetic smile, "Emma, can we talk?"

"Shouldn't you be making out with my brother right now?" I asked as I moved away from her, she sighed, "Emma, I'm sorry," she said, "I didn't want to hurt you, we were going to tell you soon but,"

"It went on for a month," I argued, "I'm sorry Emma, I miss you," I looked at her as I shrugged, "I'm sorry, I guess you should have thought about that sooner," I whispered as I walked past her. She tried to say something but I walked right on past her and ignored anything more she might have to say because honestly…I didn't want to even talk to them. I still didn't talk to Liam and I wasn't sure when I even should attempt it.

I was getting worn down with Liam because I missed him. He was having the time of his life this week because he was running for Homecoming Prince since he was a junior. He was ready to go and walk on the field Friday and he was excited. I wanted to be happy for him but I was also mad at him.

I sat down in my class as a guy sat down next to me; I glanced over at him as he was looking at me, "Emma right?" I nodded my head, "Yea,"

"I'm Cooper,"

"Hello Cooper,"

He smiled as his was curly, his eyes were green, and his smile was brilliant. "I have been going to school since August and well, I have noticed you…a lot." I looked at him as he continued to speak, "I found out with in a week that your dad is the great Troy Bolton, that your mom had cancer, and that you have only lived here for three years." I watched him, "So you stalk me?"

"No, not really, I just asked about you."

"Well apparently the world knows about me," I said with an eye roll, he laughed, "They like to think they know you but I only believe the things Google confirmed," I snorted as he laughed, "So where are you from?" I asked him, "California, so honestly, when your dad retired I cried to sleep." I laughed shaking my head, "He didn't want to retire the way he retired,"

"How are his knees?" I smiled as I doodled, "He is okay, he doesn't pay much attention to his knees with my mom but that is a whole different story. What part of California?" I asked him, "San Diego," he responded, "Ugh, my favorite surfing spot," I admitted, he looked surprised, "You surf?"

"Whenever my parents would drive me out there, I honest to God miss it so much. I hate the desert." Cooper nodded his head, "I lived in the water,"

"Me too," the teacher walked into the room as she began to write on the board. "So how long have you actually been watching me?" he smiled, "I was honest when I said I have been since I moved here. You intrigue me," he said, I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "So what is making you talk to me now?"

The teacher began to talk as he smiled at me, "I have been waiting until I knew you wouldn't turn me away," I arched my eyebrow as Cooper began to write down notes, I felt my cheeks blushed as I went to write down the notes as well.

Cooper wrote on a piece of paper as he slid it over to me.

Burger and fries on Thursday?

I looked at him as he shrugged, Saturday? I wrote back, he read the note as he nodded and scribbled something else down. No Homecoming?

I shook my head as I pulled the paper back towards me. Who the hell cares, it is a stupid dance.

Cooper laughed as he read the note, Saturday is perfect. He said, he added a little smiley face as I smiled.

Troy's POV

Gabi was sleeping as she was already feeling the effects from this morning's chemo. Lauren was napping as well and I was going to be hearing the other four kids stomping through the house at any moment.

I went downstairs as I began to pull out after school snacks as the garage opened and I knew Emma, Liam, and Wes were home. It was probably an awkward ride home at that since Emma and Liam still were not speaking to each other. The door open as they all came up the stairs, Liam was smiling and was talking with Wes as Emma had the goofiest smile on her face.

"Good day?" I asked her, she looked at me and then nodded, "Great day," she sat down at the bar as she began to grab the apple that I had just cut up. "How is mom?" Liam asked, "Tired," I responded, "She is sleeping,"

"Okay,"

"Dad, can we go play catch in the backyard?" I looked outside and then I nodded, "Sure, just give me a couple of minutes okay?" he nodded as he went to put his stuff away, I smiled as Liam was stretching, "I think I am going to head to the Danforth's house," I looked at him as he looked at me, "Do not be stupid,"

"Of course," He walked out as I sighed look at Emma who was still smiling and texting somebody on her phone. "Whom are you talking too?" a quick blush raised over her cheeks and she looked at me and I already knew it was a boy.

"Awh Hell," I muttered, she laughed, "I just met him today, and there is nothing to worry about."

"Today?" she nodded her head, "His name is Cooper," she said with a nod, "He just moved here from southern California, well, I mean, he moved here in August but he is new to our school this year. He is a big Troy Bolton fan," I smirked as she shook her head, "And he is incredibly funny,"

"Good," I told her with a small nod, "I mean if he is a Troy Bolton fan and a Laker fan then hell he is pretty good kid," she smiled, "If it is okay with you and mom I want to go out to eat with him on Saturday night," my heart raced a little bit as I didn't want to let her go but I knew that I needed to let her go. I smiled, "Yea, I know your mom will be fine with it as long as he is nice and respectable,"

"We are talking about surfing right now," I smiled, "He was a surfer?"

"Yea, I looked up some of his videos on YouTube after he told me they were on there and he is pretty good," she pulled one up for me and I watched him, I wasn't the best surfer in the world, I have tired but Emma was a natural at that. "I booked our flight for California for your birthday," I told her, "Your mom and I will go with you and you can do whatever your heart desires out there,"

"Awesome, how long?"

I smiled, "Five days," I told her, "I'm excited,"

"Good, I'm going to go and play catch with Wes, can you make sure Allison gets into the house okay? She should be home in a couple of minutes,"

"Yea, I'll watch for her,"

"Thanks Em," I squeezed her shoulder and then I walked out the door, I shook my head, as she was happy right now. It was okay that she was interested in a boy; I just hope he wasn't a dick and hurt her.

Gabi's POV

I woke up and the first thing I needed to do was puke. I launched into the bathroom, as I got sick, my stomach hurled as I sat back down as a wave of dizziness washed over me. I took a deep breath as I saw it was dark outside; I had been sleeping for a while.

I lifted myself up but the only thing I felt was another bad wave of nausea. I crawled across the floor as I dug around in the bed for my cell phone. The most intense wave of nausea hit as I leaned against the toilet, my body emptied any contents it had left as I took a deep breath. I tapped on my phone as I sent a text to Troy but the screen made my head throb.

Sending the text message I closed my eyes as I tried to breath the nausea away from my body. It wasn't working too well. I heard foot steps up the stairs as the door opened to the bedroom, "Brie?"

"In here," I said weakly, he appeared in the door as I heard him flick on the lights, "Please turn those off," the lights clicked again as he moved closer, "Are you okay?" he asked me, I shook my head as I held my breath. "Nausea?" I nodded my head as Troy laid down next to me on the tile floor. "Is there anything I can do?" he asked me, I shook my head as I turned to bury my face into his shoulder.

He kissed the top of my head as he rubbed my back, "So I have some wonderful news for you,"

"Hm?"

"Well Liam went to hang out at the Danforth's this afternoon, apparently he did homework with Alexa and they were in the kitchen. Chad called to tell me everything that had happened. Wes and I played catch all afternoon and then Emma talked to me,"

"What about?" I whispered, "Apparently she is talking to a boy," I smiled as I looked up at him, "How does Daddy feel about this?" he sucked in a laugh, "I'll be okay,"

"Good, she deserves something good,"

"He is from California and surfs,"

"Her dream guy,"

"Pretty much, she asked if she could hang out with him Saturday night."

"And you said?"

"Yes," he said with a sigh, "Did I want too? No…but it's okay, I will be okay,"

"She will love you forever because you aren't fighting her on this,"

"This is true love," I said to him as I snuggled into his side, Troy laughed, "How?"

"I'm laying on the bathroom floor with you as im so nausea I could probably throw up right here," Troy laughed as he rubbed my arm, "It is because I love you," I smiled as I closed my eyes, "I am so nausea."

"I'm so in love with you,"

Liam's POV

I sighed, as it had been two weeks since Emma had talked to me, I finished my homework as this weeks Chemo was going rough for mom. Today was her second day and she would sleep in the afternoon and then throw up for most of the evening.

Pushing back my chair, I went upstairs and I felt my stomach shrink as I knocked on the door. "Yea?" I opened the door as she looked at me, her eyes narrowed slightly, "Can you just talk to me?" I asked, "No," she responded, I rolled my eyes, "Emma, you are being so childish,"

"I'm not going to put up with your nonsense." She responded, "Non sense? I like Alexa okay?"

"Is it not a code of siblinghood that you don't date your sisters best friend?"

"That is a bunch of bullshit," I countered, "I don't care," she replied, she shrugged her shoulders and didn't have a care in the world about what I had to say to her. I sighed as I laughed, "Whatever Emma,"

"Whatever Liam," she mocked, I looked up at the ceiling, "Good night Emma,"

Sisters you can't live with them and you cant live without them.

Emma's POV

Walking into Geometry I searched to see Cooper sitting in the same spot he had sat since Tuesday. I smiled as he looked up at me, a smile spread over his lips as well, I walked through the desks and I sat down next to him.

"Good Morning," I said with a smile, "Morning," he said, he shifted so he was facing me. "I meant to text you this morning but I fell back asleep after my alarm went off and then I was rushing around trying to get ready, once I got to school I was like eh, I will see her in an hour and well I think a good morning in person is better than it is not in person," I laughed as I pulled out my notes.

"Did you understand the homework?" he asked me, "No," I said with a frown, "I was doing half of it and then bam, I just didn't understand anymore," he waved his hand, "I can help you, lunch?"

"Sure," I responded, this would be the first time that we would hang out outside of this classroom. We were still going to get dinner Saturday night, just two days from now. "Good," he said softly, I looked at him as he slipped out something and I peered over his shoulder. It was a World History study guide. I scrunched my nose as I looked at it, "You are a sophomore?" I asked, he turned and looked at me, "Yea…" he said, "I figured you would have known that,"

"No, I mean, this class is full of Freshman," he smiled, "In California we weren't able to take Algebra 1 in 8th grade like you guys were or trust me, I would have. Math is completely too easy for me."

"You know I am a freshman right?" he frowned, "Yea, I figured it wasn't an issue,"

"People look down on us freshman,"

"Well I think it is stupid, if a girl is pretty then a girl is pretty. Who cares of what the age is?"

"Do you actually like me?" Cooper nodded his head, "I actually like you," he said with a smile, "Because I just read this book where the girl started talking to the guy and he was part of a bet to get the girl who was a freshman,"

He looked at me with a straight face as he shook his head, "Damn, you completely caught me in the act. My friend Evan handed me two hundred dollars to get you and I'm like hell yes, I'm sorry," he said, I looked at him as I felt like I could cry because I wasn't expecting that answer.

He then broke into a big smile, "I'm joking," he said, "I barely have a single friend in this school let alone for me to hurt a pretty girl,"

"Who is your friend?" I asked him as I tried to recover from the embarrassment, "Evan Johnson," he said, "I needed help one day to find a class and he took me, I ate lunch with him and we hang out."

"Never heard of him,"

"Because he isn't the type of guy to put himself out there."

I smiled softly as I nodded, "Well, I am assuming you have heard my whole drama," Cooper laughed, the bell rang over head as the teacher began to write on the board, "Let's just say if your dad wasn't there I would have stepped in,"

I looked at him and I began to say something but the teacher began to talk. He winked as he turned towards the board and he wrote down problems. I watched him for a moment as his eyes followed what she was doing, his fingers moved along the page, and I shook my head as I refocused on the board.

"So, where do you want to go?" I turned to see Cooper standing at my locker, "I normally go to the library. The café gives me anxiety." Cooper smiled easily as he nodded, "Alright,"

I picked up my lunch as I followed Cooper to the library, we were halfway there as he stood closer to me, our hands brushing each other as we walked. Cooper went to open the door when I heard Liam's voice. "Who the hell is this?" I stopped as I turned around to face Liam, "Excuse me?" I asked looking at him; he looked at Cooper, as Cooper was just as tall as Liam, maybe a couple of inches shorts. Cooper looked just as strong as I looked at Liam.

"Who the hell are you and why are you touching my sister?"

"Hey, back off man," Cooper said, "Me back off? How about you go find some other girl," I shot a glance at Cooper, an apology running through my system, "Liam, back off," I snapped as I looked at him, "You didn't even tell me!" he said, Cooper snorted as Liam took a step closer. My blood boiled, "SO now you understand what the hell it feels like huh?" Liam looked at me, "At least I have only been talking to cooper for two days instead of two months." I snapped, "That doesn't give you any right," Liam said, "You don't get any right to talk to me."

"Emma, stop being so stupid! I did mine for a reason,"

"I don't even want to talk to you," I yelled, "Em, come on," Cooper picked up my hand as he gently tugged me towards the library, "Stop touching her!" Liam yelled, "Dude, I think you should back off," Cooper said, he some how had wormed his way in-between the two of us. "Who the hell are you even?" Liam asked, "Right now I am not going to tell you, right now you should just back off." Cooper said his voice was even as he pushed Liam back a little bit further.

Liam laughed, "Whatever, Emma, this isn't over,"

"Just leave Liam,"

Liam turned and left as his sweats were rolled twice like he always does. "He is worse than a jealous ex-boyfriend," I said with a mutter, "He is just looking out for you," Cooper said softly, "Yea well, you know how I yelled at him,"

"Which gave him no right to accuse you of not telling him anything," I walked into the library as we went to the back corner, "Thanks for helping out right there," he smiled, "It was my fault for even getting you into that situation."

"Cooper, don't even worry about it. Liam is still pissed off at me because I am still pissed off at him. It is a dangerous cycle in our household right now."

"Yea," I pulled out my lunch as I began to eat what my Dad had packed me this morning. It wasn't nearly as healthy when mom packed my lunch. "So can you show me how to do number 15?"

Cooper nodded as he pulled out his math homework, he then paused as he smiled, "So we are still on for Saturday right?"

"Right," I said with a smile, "Good,"

"My Dad wants to meet you though,"

"So how much is he like Liam?" I laughed quietly, "A lot but he isn't going to yell at you, he is going to be calm, I promise and if he isn't feel free to just never speak to me again because of how my family is." Cooper laughed, "It's alright,"

He dug around his bag for a pencil as his keys fell out; he picked them back up and shoved them in his backpack. "Sixteen?" I asked, he turned to look at me and he nodded, "Yea, I turned sixteen about a month ago,"

"Will you drive me home?" he stopped digging for whatever and he looked at me, "Liam is normally my ride home and I don't feel like getting yelled at by him. Plus, you need to know where my house is so you can pick me up Friday."

"I turn fifteen in December," suddenly the age gap seemed huge, "Ah, the fun age of fifteen," he smiled, "I love how high school kids can range from thirteen to nineteen," he paused, "Thirteen's are the super genius and well," he paused to not laugh, "The nineteen are the super idiots." I giggled as he winked, he spread his homework over the table and he began to show me how to go a certain math problem but the entire time I was having trouble focusing as I watched every movement he had.

"Like this, you with me Emma?" I looked up at his bright green eyes and I nodded my head slowly, "Yea," He smiled as he licked his lip and he moved on. I could get used to having him sit with me at lunch.

Troy's POV

I rubbed Gabi's back as she curled up, "I have no idea how I am going to escort Liam tomorrow," she whispered, I looked at her as I rolled onto my side, my hand ran down her side as she looked at the ceiling.

"It will be okay if you can't," I told her, "No, it will not be okay." She said with a cry, I kissed her forehead, as she almost felt a little warm. I moved off the bed as she looked at me, I went into the bathroom as I grabbed the thermometer, "What are you doing?" she asked me, I didn't answer as I put it into her ear as she groaned, "Troy,"

"No," I told her, it beeped and I pulled it up, 99.9. I shook my head as she was flirting with 100's. "Troy," she said, her voice anxious, "99.9," I told her, 101 was our cue to leave for the hospital, I laid back down next to her. "Gabs, you can't walk him. I will escort him,"

"No, I am not going to let this opportunity slide past me because of cancer," she said, anger ripped through her teeth as I shook my head, "Gabi, you can't risk your life to do,"

"I will Troy, I will be out there for what, ten minutes?"

"Yea and what if you puke?"

"I won't," she tried to assure me but I shook my head, "Only way you walk is if I'm close by,"

"Then stand on the track, please,"

"Fine," I said softly, "But if you are puking your guts out before or running a fever,"

"I will be fine, tomorrow is it Troy," she sat up and she looked at me, "Tomorrow is my last day of chemo, I hope, I knock on wood, I do everything to hope that tomorrow is it. That I don't have to have another drop of stupid chemo in my system, that I can get my port out, that I can go back to being normal,"

"Brie, we have two weeks and then we have scans, then we have radiation, this fight isn't over yet,"

"But chemo, the worst part, is over."

"For now,"

She shot me a look, "It is going to be over and we are never look back," I kissed the top of her head as I heard the garage door open. "Rest up," I said pushing off of the bed, I walked downstairs as I heard clomping of footsteps and then a door slam. I cringed, as somebody clearly didn't have the best day in the world.

"Dad!" Liam's voice was angry, "Shit," I grumbled, I walked out to meet him at the top of the stairs, "What?"

"Do you know about Emma's boyfriend?" he asked, I turned my head, "I know she is talking to a boy," I told him as I took a step backwards as he shook his head, "She went home with him, HOME," he yelled, "And I caught them talking in the hallway going to the library," I looked at Liam with a raised eyebrow, "So Emma didn't come with you?"

"No!"

I looked outside as a Jeep pulled into the driveway, I nodded my head as Liam turned around, he scrunched his face together as Emma bounced out of the passenger seat, she smiled and waved bye to whoever was in the drivers seat.

"Do you see this?" Liam yelled, "Liam, stop," I said with a shake of my head, "She didn't even tell me Dad," I looked at him as I laughed, "Did you just hear the words that came out of your mouth?" I asked him, Liam frowned, "This is different, she is the girl,"

"Oh wait, back up, I want to know how this is different,"

"You didn't even know she went home with him!"

"Did you make her angry?"

He stopped, "I yelled at her at school asking why she didn't tell me," I laughed as the front door opened, "Where have you been?" Liam was quick to jump, Emma looked at him and laughed, "Who do you think you are? I'm pretty sure my Dad is right there," she said pointing at me. "So you tell Dad?" Liam asked, "At least I told Dad," she said with a shrug, "You kept it all to your self,"

"This isn't about me," Liam said, "But it is!" Emma yelled at him, "Because poor Liam didn't get his way, because Liam can do whatever the hell Liam wants to do. If Liam doesn't tell anybody for two months then it is no big deal but if I go two days without telling you about dating a sophomore that you barely know then I am the one getting yelled at by you, cool Liam, you are such a hypocrite!"

"That is some random boy!"

"I'm so sorry that I don't go falling for your best friends Liam! Would that make it better?" she challenged, "What if he hurt you?"

"Then he hurts me! Do you know that is a part of life Liam? You date and you get hurt because you don't find the person you love that quick. I have dated before Liam, Dad knows this, mom knows this, it was middle school and it was stupid but I like Cooper okay? Cooper and I can talk about surfing all day long because we both share the same passion for it, because he is from California, and because he hasn't lived in the desert his whole life. So I'm sorry Liam that maybe just for once I don't need to tell you everything like you don't tell me everything anymore either."

She dropped her stuff and went upstairs as I watched her go, Liam looked at me as I shrugged my shoulders. "You asked for it," I told him, "Why can't she just forgive me?"

"Why can't you just leave her alone? The more you talk to her like she cant do anything but you can the more angry she is going to become. She will never forgive you if she isn't allowed to make a friend at school,"

"Come on Dad, it is a boy who we don't know,"

"I didn't know your mom either, and he dad trusted me to take his daughter out. I have to have trust in this guy before I can deny Emma to him. I was given a chance, you are being given a chance, Cooper it sounds like needs to be given a chance. It's making her happy Liam; you stole her soul best friend here. So maybe you should rethink everything you have been saying to her."

He closed her eyes as I went upstairs to check on Emma. I opened her door as she was sitting on the floor flipping through her computer. She looked up at me and she smiled, "Hey,"

"Hey, are you alright?"

"I have been better but Liam doesn't get to control my life. I can make my own choices,"

"You can," I told her, "How was your day?"

"Well Liam tried to hurt Cooper but Cooper protected me and got Liam to go away. I asked him to take me home, I meant to text you and tell you but I forgot. I'm sorry."

"It's okay," I told her, "I'm sorry for how Liam is acting. He has no right to say what he did but he is trying to protect you,"

"I do not need protecting,"

"It is my job anyways," I challenged, she smiled, "It is, he said that he is looking forward to meeting superstar Bolton," I cracked a smile and nodded, "Sounds good," "Please, don't make it hard on him,"

"Everybody gets a chance," I told her with a smile, she smiled back as she got up and hugged me, "Thank you Dad,"

"If there is somebody who wants to talk about this with you, it is your mom though. She is quite jealous of me getting all of the information instead of her."

"How is my momma?"

"Tired and sick but she will be okay. I think she would love some Emma time,"

"Thanks Dad,"

"No problem Em," I kissed the top of her head as she escaped the room and went upstairs. I sighed as I looked at the wall. "Why was being a parent so hard sometimes?" I muttered to myself.

"Daddy!" Allison's voice echoed through the house as I tossed my head back, "Yea Alli?"

"I got my pants all dirty! Can you help me get new ones?"

"Coming," I called, I moved on to the next task and I let out a long breath.

Gabi's POV

Emma crawled into bed with me as I looked over at her, "Dad says you are jealous he is getting all of the good information," I laughed and I nodded, "I feel completely out of the loop,"

Emma smiled as she lay down next to me, "In my math class on Tuesday, he just randomly sat down next to me and introduced himself. His name is Cooper, he has these emerald green eyes that are so easy to just watch. He has a beautiful smile that you can tell years of braces probably spent fixing because they are beautiful mom," I looked at Emma as she was playing with her shirt.

"He has this black hair that has these little curls to it. Not like Chad's hair but I mean it's not flat either. It is just right for him to be honest, it hangs on his forehead a little bit and you know that if he cut it he just wouldn't look the same. His face is lean and sharp, he is built, at a sophomore he looks about to be a senior. He is about as tall as Liam and the same build. He doesn't seem like a sophomore even though I thought he was a freshman."

"I see," I said softly as she smiled, "He is from San Diego and he loves surfing. He was really good too." She popped up and reached for the iPad that was sitting nearby, "Let me show you this video," she pulled up a YouTube video as I watched a boy I barely knew surf in the ocean and knew that Emma was going to be happy with him for however long this lasts. She pointed a few things out from her surfing days and I smiled and nodded. "He just moved here in August and says he has liked me for a while but just started talking to me."

"He sounds great Emma,"

"I like him Mom and I have only been talking to him for a couple of days. He is funny,"

"Good, just don't rush anything okay? Take your time."

"I will," she rested her head on my shoulder as I wrapped her into my arms. "I'm sorry about Liam, your dad has been filling me in and he has been an ass to you. You shouldn't have to put up with that."

"It's okay, I think I am going to go and talk to him."

"Good," I encouraged, "I wanted to tell him but I just, it had only been two days,"

"You told us and that is all that matters,"

"I love you mom," she said with a smile, "I love you too Emma,"

"How is Chemo going?"

"It's rough," I told her, "I'll be okay though, tomorrow is it," I declared, "I hope so,"

"I know so Em, I know,"

"I'm really proud of you mom," I smiled as I tried to let any tears that might escape stay in but it wasn't working. "I'm proud of you Emma, you are overcoming a lot right now and you are just making me so proud, I love you,"

"I love you too,"

Emma's POV

I was sick and tired of fighting with Liam. I just wanted my brother back, I just wanted to be completely happy right now and with Cooper I am feeling happy. I just want everything to be happy and having my best friend and my brother back would be the best thing I could ask for right now.

It had been over two weeks since I had truly talked to him and I was sad every moment that I passed him and we didn't talk. I was sad when we yelled at each other for hours on end. Pushing back my chair, I walked downstairs as Wes, Allison, and my Dad were all watching the Postseason baseball. Lo was passed out in my mom's room as they were lying together. My mom hadn't been up to much of anything.

"Where are you going?" my dad asked, I stopped, "I'm just going to talk to Liam," I said softly, he sat up on the couch as he looked at me, "It's fine," I told him, "I just…" I paused, "I want my brother back."

He tried to not let a smile cross his face but it slipped, "Call me if you need me," I nodded as I went downstairs as I knocked on Liam's door. "What?" I opened the door as he turned to look at me, his eyes narrowed a little bit. "What Emma? Are you here to yell at me some more?" I shook my head as I walked across the room and I sat down on the floor in front of him.

"I'm sorry for how I have acted Liam," I said to him, he looked down at me almost like he didn't hear me or he was so shocked to hear the words come from my mouth he wasn't sure what to do next. "But I am still mad at you for never telling me when it went on for months,"

"I wanted to tell you Emma," Liam said quickly, "I begged Alexa to let me tell you and once she did finally give me permission, you collapsed in the gym and I have never been more scared in my life. You were an emotional mess those couple of weeks so I backed off because I was only going to add to it and then bam, you found out and I have felt bad every moment sense," I nodded my head as I looked up at him, "I'm so sorry Em, I never wanted to hurt you and I don't know, Alexa was just there when I needed her most. You were away at camp and we grew close. I didn't mean to ruin anything between you too."

"It's okay Liam, I do forgive you and I understand that you probably didn't mean too." He patted his bed as I got up, "I will never hate you Liam," I told him as I rested my head on his shoulder, my fingers playing with my leggings I was wearing. "I told you that I hated you and I just…I miss my brother."

He wrapped my tight in his arms, "I miss my baby sister,"

"Ever since high school started I felt like you have been so distant,"

"Because of Alexa and I. It was harder to be around you when you didn't know."

We were both quiet as I felt a sense of relief flood my body, I took a deep breath as I sat up, crossed my legs, and I looked at him. "His name is Cooper, he moved from California in August, he is 16 and a current sophomore in high school. He loves to surf and we get along great. It is nothing more than a friendship and I enjoy hanging out with him. We are going out together Saturday night." Liam observed me as I said everything, "He actually likes you?" I shot him a look, "What is that supposed to mean?"

"That is supposed to mean I can't believe anybody would like my dorky sister," I frowned as he laughed, "I'm kidding. Tomorrow, can I make a proper introduction?" he asked, "If he is going to be apart of your life I at least need to tell him I am in charge here," I laughed, "Whatever, give him a break please?" he nodded, "I'll just introduce myself as a nice guy,"

"You can do it at the football game," I told him with a smile, "Good, I think Mom is still going to escort me on the field," I frowned, "She hasn't been doing so hot with this chemo,"

"No…she hasn't. Then we added in all of our drama."

"Can we please not fight like this?" I begged, Liam laughed, "Of course,"

I hugged Liam as I held on tight, "You're the best," I whispered into his ear he squeezed me tight. "I love you Em, I just don't want you to get hurt."

"I don't want to get hurt either but if we never try then how are we supposed to know what it feels like to get hurt and to rebuild yourself into a better person?" he looked at me as he smiled, "You are going to go far in high school,"

"Thanks,"

"So…do you want to help me with this English assignment?" I laughed as I nodded, "Sure,"

Troy's POV

I peeked into Liam's room as my eyes observed what was happening, Liam and Emma were both working on homework together…laughing, having a good time together. I felt my shoulders relax because after what felt like ever, they were finally speaking and talking to each other again.

They both wore down to the point they couldn't stay mad at each other any longer. I smiled as I moved away from the doorway before they caught me peeking. I walked upstairs slowly and I passed the two kids who were finishing homework.

Opening the door to our bedroom, Lo was curled up next to Gabi. Gabi was sitting up as she was scrolling through her phone as I leaned into the doorway, "Hey," she looked up as I smiled, "You'll never guess who is talking again?" she smiled, "Em and Liam?" I nodded as I walked further into the room. "It wasn't even a screaming match, they just said sorry and explained things and bam!" I clapped my hands together causing Lo to stir, "They are best of friends again,"

"She seems happy right now,"

"She has been pretty happy this week and I guess I let it all fall on Cooper,"

"Who names their kid Cooper?" Gabi asked me, I laughed, "I have no clue," I leaned over as I kissed her softly, "We have a happy household again," I whispered, "Hell yes," she said, I laughed as I pressed my nose into her temple. "Do you want me to take Lo to bed?"

"Yea, it is past her bed time anyways,"

I scooped her up and into my arms as she rested against me, she had been a bit difficult all week, creeping into our room, smashing herself in-between Gabi and I and latching on to one of us. Gabi, who has hot flashes recently, has not been enjoying it. She smiled, "I'm going to come back to bed as soon as I get Allison into bed,"

"Sounds good,"

"I'll see you in a bit,"

"Cuddle?" she asked, I grinned, "Would I want to go to bed any other way?"

"I sure hope not,"

I went down the stairs as I tucked Lauren into her bed, I kissed her forehead as I shut her door quietly. I then went downstairs as I got Allison and I told Wes to go to his room as he nodded his head. I turned the TV off as I shut off all of the lights; I went to tuck in Allison as she was yawning. "Do you want a story?" I asked her, "can I read to you?" she asked, I smiled, "Sure,"

I sat down on her bed as she grabbed a book and began to read to me, line by line, she stumbled over a couple of words as I helped her along. She was almost too tired at the end to finish it but she did, "That was awesome Allison, you did a great job,"

"Thank you Daddy, I like to read," I smiled, "Good, you should love to read," I tickled her stomach softly as she giggled, "Get some rest,"

"I will daddy, good night,"

"Night baby girl," I kissed her forehead as I shut the door as I looked at Emma's room, the light was flipped on and I took the opportunity to peak my head in. "I see your talk with Liam went well," she smiled, "Yea, I am happy that we don't have to fight anymore."

"I'm glad," I said, I went over to kiss the top of her head, "Good night, get some sleep,"

"Thanks Dad," I nodded as I shut the door as I walked out of the room, I went back up to Gabi and I's room. I slipped off my clothes and changed into a pair of basketball shorts, I crawled into bed as Gabi crossed her arms over my waist. "Tomorrow is a big day,"

"It is indeed," I whispered into her hair, "It is indeed,"

Emma's POV

I skipped into math as Cooper laughed watching me, "Are you excited about something?" he asked, I smiled, "Liam and I made up last night, I mean, everybody says siblings fight a lot and whatever but Liam and I don't."

"Oh?" Cooper said, I nodded, "Yea, so after a couple of weeks of fighting and yesterday in the hallway, I was like listen," Cooper laughed, "I'm glad Emma," I smiled, "He wants to meet you tonight." Cooper raised an eyebrow, "Oh really?"

"I mean, like he doesn't want to be an asshole to you today." Cooper grinned, "I like the sound of that, when tonight?" he asked me, he fidgeted as I looked at him, "Are you not going to the game tonight?" I asked, he let a little smile cross his face, "I'm going," he said with a nod, "Then at the game!"

He leaned a little closer to me, "You have no idea who I am do you," I pulled back away from him as he laughed, "You pay no attention at the football games!" he said, I turned my head as he laughed, "I'm the starting quarterback Emma," I looked at him as I blinked, "Excuse me?" he shook his head and an amused smiled crossed his features. "Emma, Emma, what am I going to do with you?"

"You are first going to explain to me how I didn't know this,"

"You obviously don't pay attention at the games," he remarked, "I do too…some," I changed, he nodded, "Uh huh,"

"Okay, new question, how are you that good looking and aren't dating anybody?" he shot me a look as he smirked, "I'm good looking?" I rolled my eyes, "No need to heighten your ego." He laughed, "You're funny," he mused, "Oh you just like me to get a good laugh,"

"Do not and I do not date because everybody wants to date me for my popularity,"

"You are popular?" he smacked his palm to his face, "Not really," he said as he looked at me, "I told you, I have about one good friend here."

"So that is still true?"

"Still true, he is also the running back so," I smiled, "I might just have to pay attention tonight,"

"Oh now we are going to pay attention," he teased, I laughed, "I'm sorry! I haven't been in a couple of weeks,"

"I know, I know but I keep forgetting how big of a basketball school this is," I laughed, "See, I would have known you if you played basketball. I basically attend every game home or away," Cooper grinned, "Your grandpa is the coach right?" I nodded my head, "Grandpa Jack, my dad's dad."

"I figured, I mean, it doesn't happen that often that the man takes the women's last name," I rolled my eyes, "You are so sassy today," I remarked, Cooper shook his head as he wrote down the date at the top of my paper. "Do you play basketball?" I asked him, he nodded his head slowly as he looked at me, "I was the starting point guard at my school in San Diego," I felt my body pale slightly, he shook his head, "Trust me, I am not out to get Liam's spot on the basketball team. My team in San Diego was so terrible I was the best point guard when I'm not,"

I laughed, "Basketball isn't my best sport and neither is football really but your football program," he shuddered as I laughed, "I told you, and we are a basketball school,"

"Well, San Diego is a surfing school,"

"I wish we had somewhere out here to surf," I said with a sigh, "It would make this place so much more bearable."

"I agree," Cooper said, "You also make it pretty bearable."

A blush worked its way around my cheeks as I wrote the date and my name. "So how about after the game?" I asked him, "I can drag Liam to meet you after the game." Cooper smiled, "I would love that,"

"Plus, I'll cheer you on," I paused as I looked at him, "Do you think Saturday you could uh…tell me how football works?" Cooper busted out into a loud fit of laughter, the sub in our class shot him a look as he shook his head apologizing. "This is a basketball school, you know, if you went to Texas and said those words you would be the prime suspect for all bullies."

"Oh good thing I don't live in Texas,"

"I think they would soon forgive you after learning who your dad is."

"Basketball is just in the blood, if it makes you feel better, I play basketball too." Cooper shook his head as his hair tossed around, "Emma Bolton, you are something else." I laughed, "I know, I'm glad you decided to talk to me," he smiled, "I'm glad you let me talk to you."

Gabi's POV

"And that is a wrap!" the nurse unplugged me as I grinned but I felt like shit. I was going to puke at any moment as my vision blurred slightly as Troy kissed the top of my head, "You shitty ass chemo, I'm never coming back," Troy laughed as the nurse gave me a hug, "Congrats, you did well with chemo," I nodded as I felt my head roll, "She isn't looking so hot," Troy said, "I think I might just vomit,"

"I am pretty sure you are beyond excited for the symptoms to go away,"

"Praise Jesus," I muttered, Troy helped me up as I gripped his forearms, "Are you going to be okay?" he asked me, I shook my head as Troy gently lowered me back down into the chair as he kneeled down in front of me as he looked me in the eye, "IS it true?" Troy turned as Jenni was standing their, her belly was sticking out as she was close to her third trimester of pregnancy. She was due at the beginning of January.

Troy looked at him, "Is what true?"

"Is today the last day of chemo?" I smiled as I nodded my head, "Yea, thank the lord because I feel like I am going to puke all over your shoe." Jenni laughed as she sat down next to me, "Jenni, will you stay with her while I go and get the car?"

"Sure thing big brother," Troy rubbed her shoulder, "Niece or nephew?" Troy asked, Jenni giggled, "I'm not telling you," Troy rolled his eyes, "You are so mean to me!" Troy pouted, Jenni laughed as he walked away, "When are you going to tell us?" I asked as Troy dug for his keys, "The birth," she said with a shrug, Troy grunted, "You knew about Lauren when we didn't tell anybody," Troy said, "So?"

"Not even a hint?" Troy asked, Jenni laughed, "What the hell kind of hint could I give you without you knowing?"

"I don't know, pink or green?"

"Green for girl pink for boy?" Jenni said, "Sure,"

"Yellow," she responded, I sucked in a laugh as I felt my body relax back against the chair. Troy disappeared as he got onto the elevator, I closed my eyes trying to keep the nausea at bay, "Pink," she said looking at me, I looked at her with a smile, "Are we still playing the backwards game?"

"Yes ma'am," she sat down next to me as I smiled, "Another nephew eh?"

"Uhm and do you promise to keep the name a surprise?" I nodded my head again as she smiled, "Anthony Troy," I laughed as I opened my eyes as I focused on her, "He will be so excited,"

"I know he will be. He has been begging me," I giggled as she squeezed my hand, "I'm not telling him though until the birth if that's fine,"

"Hey, I knew about Wes and he didn't," she laughed, "How did you pull that off?"

"I saw it on the sonogram and I knew," I said softly, I closed my eyes as I was fighting off everything, and I was fighting off sleep and vomiting. "That's funny," I nodded as Jenni was talking to a nurse as I then heard Troy's voice. "She fall asleep?"

"No," I said softly as I sat up, Troy smiled, "Want a piggy back ride out?"

"I'm not sure if I could make it without vomiting,"

"And you want to walk tonight," Troy said with a shake of the head, "I am doing it for my son,"

"The things we do for kids," Jenni said, I smiled softly as Troy helped me up but I shook my head, "Piggy back ride,"

"Okay," he whispered, I slid onto his back as I wrapped my arms around him, I buried my face into his shoulder as we both said bye to Jenni as I did everything to not throw up at every moment with Troy.

I sat in the car as I felt like I could hurl at any moment. My stomach twisted as I held on to the dashboard. I watched the clock on the scoreboard tick down towards halftime. I had to be lining up at three minutes; everybody else's parents had to be lining up at the beginning of the second quarter. Troy had talked to the leader of the Homecoming and they said it was fine.

I had four minutes to compose myself and to get rid of the nausea for a good ten minutes. I had a wig on my baldhead but it was itching, it was hot and I flung it off my head as it landed somewhere in the car. I dug around in the car as I came up with a black scarf. It would match my outfit, which was a black maxi dress with a light jean jacket. I had tried heels but I was so nausea and dizzy that it wasn't going to work.

A sigh tumbled out of my mouth as I debated on puking and going out with just nausea but I would probably get it everywhere. Two minutes displayed on the board as I cursed under my breath, that made my choice for me right there.

I got out of the car as I walked out of the parking lot as I spotted Troy who was walking out of the gates probably looking for me. I ran across the street as Troy spotted me, "You're late," he yelled, "I was debating on if I should puke or not," Troy flinched and then frowned at my response, he gripped my arm as I steadied against him, "Liam will understand," Troy said, "Nope,"

Troy sighed as he walked me to where they were all lined up, "I'm here!" I said as Liam looked at me, "You're late," he said with a frown, "I'm sorry," I apologized, "I lost track of time," Troy watched me as he wasn't sure if he should let me go or not. "I'm fine," I said as I looked at him, "I got her Dad, I wont let anything happen to her,"

"See?" I said looking at him, Liam smiled as Troy sighed, "I'll be on the track,"

"Yes Captain," I responded, he rolled his eyes as he kissed my forehead and walked off. "You look good mom,"

"Thanks Liam,"

"How are you feeling?" he asked, I swallowed on my vomit as I smiled, "I'm okay," He squeezed my hand as they began to announce everything as football players came lining over as they caught people. I took a deep breath as a scent came flying by, Liam squeezed my hand as I smiled, "Thank you," he said softly, "Anything,"

He adjusted my bow scarf as I laughed; we were being escorted with a nice girl and both of her parents. The freshman and sophomore pairs went first and then it started the juniors. They said what they were involved in and everything, it was nice as we moved forward. I stretched my arms as I then hooked my arm through Liam's tighter. Once we it was us they announced the girl first, Ashley Case.

We were walking on the field as I was dizzy but we stopped as they started Liam.

"Mr. Liam Bolton is one of our junior nominees. His mother, Gabi Bolton, is escorting Liam today, he would love to note that his mom, today, finished her last round of chemotherapy and is one step closer to beating Breast Cancer. He is over the moon to have his mother walking him on the field," I looked at him as he smiled, "Liam is involved with Stuco, NHS, ProStart, and the varsity basketball team. He plans on going to school wherever he feels fit and his future involves playing basketball, taking care of his mom, and to help find a cure for breast cancer," I squeezed Liam's hand, as we were moving again, "Liam wants to say one last thing about how much he loves his mom and in a couple of months he can't wait to be celebrating her being cancer free…ladies and gentleman Mr. Liam Bolton,"

I reached up to wipe a tear away as the stands were clapping, I laughed as Liam kissed my cheek. I hugged him, "I love you Liam,"

"Thank you for doing this even though you feel like crap," he whispered into my ear, "Thank you for being the best son a mom could ask for," he nodded as I held on to him as I looked at Troy as he smiled, he had the camera and was taking pictures but I knew he couldn't be more proud.

Emma's POV

I defiantly paid attention to the game tonight as I watched Cooper. He was a natural on the field as he was good. The only reason Homecoming was big was because it was Homecoming. I watched as he ran down the side of the field holding the ball as he slid once he got the first down, he popped back up and he ran calling plays. He was attractive.

A timeout was called as I backed away from my spot on the fence as I moved down; Alexa was standing with Liam as I paused. I then walked over as Liam looked at me, "Hey," he said, I smiled as I leaned up against the fence, Alexa looked at me carefully as I smiled, "Alexa, did you know the quarterback is a sophomore?" she looked at me as she carefully found the words, "No…I mean, I barely know what the quarterback is." I laughed, as I nodded, "I didn't either until he told me,"

"You know the quarterback?" Liam looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "I told him this was a basketball school and nobody paid attention to football here,"

"But really, the quarterback?" I nodded, "His name is Cooper and we are going out tomorrow night," Alexa looked shocked and she smiled, "You aren't going to the dance?"

"No thanks, I would rather go eat a burger and fries." Alexa smiled as Liam leaned against the fence as he yelled. "I'm sorry," she said softly, "It's okay," I reached over as I hugged her, "I miss you,"

"I miss you too,"

I smiled as Liam grinned, "Can I take a picture?" Liam asked, Alexa and I shot him a look, "No," Liam smiled as he grabbed us both in a hug, "You are both my girls, so let me tell you, the fact that you aren't fighting anymore is the best thing in the world."

Alexa and I laughed, "So who wants to meet Cooper after the game?" I asked, "I defiantly need to meet this Cooper," Liam said, Alexa nodded in agreement "Please,"

We all cheered the boys on to a victory as we were all laughing as they disappeared into the locker room, I walked over as the stands were clearing out, I walked ahead as Liam and Alexa were back, Liam had his arm around her shoulder as he held his suit jacket in his other hand. I didn't stay too close to the door as about fifteen minutes after the game the boys began to file out with smiles.

I watched as I waited to see Coopers jet-black hair to come out of the locker room. When it did his eyes swept around, as I knew he was looking for me or I hoped he was looking for me. He looked at me and then he smiled, I waved as I walked up to him, "Great game…I almost understood what football was about." Cooper laughed as he nodded, "Oh yea?"

"Yea," he leaned closer to me, as he smelled of sweat, "I don't really understand either," he whispered, I laughed as he smiled, "How many more games do you have left?"

"One," he said with a wave of his finger, "Next week,"

"Then basketball season!" I said with a smile, Cooper laughed, "Then you understand," I nodded my head, "Exactly,"

Cooper shook his head as I walked towards Liam, "So he isn't going to beat me shitless right?"

"If he does I will beat him for you," Cooper chuckled, "I would love to see this," I gave him a serious look, "Don't act like it hasn't been done," he raised an eyebrow as I smirked, "Just kidding,"

"Liam," he looked up as he looked at Cooper again, "Liam," he said as he reached his hand out to meet Coopers, "Cooper," he shook his hand, "Dude, about the other day, I'm sorry. I acted way out of line, you should have,"

"No problem man, I mean, if that was my sister I would have probably done the same thing." Liam smiled, "Yea, she is my favorite so," Liam waved his finger as Cooper nodded, "And Cooper, this is my best friend Alexa, Chad Danforth's daughter." Cooper smirked, "So none of you understand football huh?" We all laughed, as we all looked at each other, "No," we all responded, "Maybe we could all discuss it some time?" Cooper suggested, Liam laughed, "Eh, I say let's just play basketball instead,"

Cooper laughed as he gave him a fist bump, "I can handle that dude,"

I smiled at Cooper as he winked; I smiled, for only knowing him for five days I felt like I had known him for a lifetime.

Gabi's POV

I fell asleep and woke up several times as I opened my eyes on Saturday. I could hear the chatter of everybody outside, as they were getting ready to leave for the dance soon. I was so nausea that I felt like I could just curl up into a ball.

"Hey Brie," Troy's voice was soft as I looked up, "Cooper is coming to pick up Emma soon, I didn't know if you wanted to be up when he came over," I sat up as I took a couple of breaths and nodded my head, "Yea,"

He came further into the room as he sat down on the bed, "Come here," he whispered, I crawled into his lap as he wrapped me tight into his arms. "You are so strong," he whispered into my ear, I nodded as I didn't want to move or the feeling got worse. I hadn't been able to keep any food down and I stopped trying. Troy knew when I had enough so he wasn't pressing it right now.

"I'm not feeling it," I whispered, "I'm sorry baby," he rested his hand on my back as he rubbed it gently, I buried my head into his shoulder as I felt tears come out of my eyes, I couldn't do this anymore. "Hey, what's wrong?" the tears didn't stop as they only grew worse, he didn't question it he just held me as I tried to take a calming breath but the nausea only grew worse with crying.

"Dad?" Emma's voice broke through the room as Troy looked over his shoulder, "Do you guys mind waiting a couple of minutes?"

"Sure," she said softly, I took a deep breath as Troy kissed the top of my head again, "Are you okay?" he whispered, "I'm tired of being sick,"

"I know you are Brie, I know you are," he rubbed my arm as I got up and I walked across the room, I splashed some cold water on my face as I took a long breath. Troy watched me as I nodded, "I'm good,"

"Alright?" he nodded as to double check, I nodded as I hugged him, "Thank you,"

"It's my job,"

We walked downstairs as I heard Emma laughing before I saw her. I caught the image of a beautiful young boy. His face looked mature though. He stood up as he wiped his palms on his jeans that he was wearing. Emma was smiling as Cooper smiled, "Cooper," he said sticking his hand out, "Troy,"

"Are you sure it's not Mr. Bolton?"

Troy laughed, "No thanks, Troy is good,"

I smiled as he shook my hand, "Mrs. Bolton,"

"It's Gabi Cooper, it is very nice to meet you,"

"Thank you for letting me take Emma out tonight,"

"Just have her home by eleven," Troy said, "No problem," Cooper said, Emma smiled at Troy, as she was full of affection for him right now. I was too for that matter. "Call me if you need me," Emma nodded as they headed for the door. Troy watched them as they climbed into a jeep as Troy turned around. I smiled, "I'm proud of you,"

"The things I do for my kids,"

"She is going to forever love you,"

"Oh yes,"

He kissed the top of my head, "It's been a crazy week," Troy said as he collapsed on to the couch, I nodded as Allison, Wes, and Lo came running through the living room and up the stairs as they were all laughing.

"My son is at his Homecoming Dance, my daughter is on a date, and my other three are running around," I rested my head on his chest, "Sounds like a perfect nap," I whispered, Troy laughed as he wrapped me in his arms.
