Summary: M-21 was napping.
I guess set earlier in the verse somewhere.

The sun was starting to set when Kentas returned to M-21's home. He passed the others when he entered and Tao waved an arm at him from the livingroom.
"M's in his room - I think he went for a nap."
Kentas nodded, heading upstairs.
"An' tell 'im we're gonna start a boardgame if he's up for it!"
"All right." Kentas wasn't sure if M-21 would be if he was already sleeping at this time, but he might if he'd slept for a while already.
The bustle from the room fell away as he went upstairs. M-21's door was closed and Kentas found himself walking slower, trying to be more quiet. It never worked - he hadn't been able to get close to M-21 when he was sleeping without waking him.
Though the other time's he'd startled M-21 when M-21 was awake had ended with a fist swinging towards him out of instinct.
He peeked into M-21's room. Deep breathing greeted him and Kentas blinked, pausing at the doorway.
M-21 was still asleep? He was usually awake by the time Kentas opened the door.
He closed the door behind him, and M-21 still didn't stir. Huh.
Step by step, Kentas got closer to M-21. He saw a flicker of a frown crease M-21's brow before it smoothened out again.
M-21 knew he was there. But didn't wake up.
When Kentas slid into bed with him, M-21 sighed, moving closer to press his forehead to Kentas' shoulder.
It made Kentas rumble deep in his chest, a grin spreading across his face as he moved his arm so M-21 could curl in closer.
M-21 trusted him enough to not wake up to check on him.

M-21 woke up warm. Which was starting to become normal ever since Kentas had came to the house.
But...
He didn't remember Kentas coming to bed with him. Or waking up when Kentas got into bed.
He cracked open one eye, just enough to see Kentas' face and hair in view. It was definitely Kentas.
Had Kentas actually gotten sneaky enough to not wake him up? It was unlikely.
Which meant it was him. He hadn't woken when Kentas had gotten close.
Then...
He'd heard Kentas enter and didn't think he was a threat.
He trusted Kentas.
He already did, but now he trusted Kentas completely, even when he was asleep and at his most vulnerable.
Huh.
M-21 took a deep breath, smelling Kentas' familiar scent, feeling his heartbeat thudding strong through his skin.
He was glad he did.
