Here we go...;-)

"Stuck In My Mirror"

"Now, where do we start?"

Three Months Later

Skye sat up in bed, reading one of the books that her brother had brought back with him when he was visiting Midgard. Giggling, she smiled as she tuned back in.

"How are my sister and the babies?" She heard Loki ask as he entered her bedroom. Raising her head, she looked at him, warily.

"Why do you want to know?" She asked, cautiously. In the past three months, Loki had done nothing but teased and taunted her like an older brother would do to his younger sister. It's gotten old. At least, he seemed genuinely concerned about her and the twins.

"Just asking." He held up his hands like he was backing off. "But Father is looking for a suitor who's willing to raise another man's children."

She looked surprised, then pissed. "AC will be the father of my children and my husband! Not some 'suitor' Dad deems suitable."

Loki half-smirked, scoffing. "Father will never allow a Midgardian to marry his daughter. He cannot protect you."

"So I've been told." She looked at the book. "Repeatedly."

"Well, I will leave you alone." Loki turned on his heels and left the room before Skye could say anything else.

"But this should faze you."

Skye slipped a bookmark in between the pages and leaned over to her right to set the book on the nightstand. She placed her left hand on her protruding stomach and straightened her back, gently placing her other hand on top.

"I promise Daddy'll get to see you and hold each of you. I can just see it now: You guys running around and Daddy chasing you, or learning how to ride a bike, even playing in the dirt with him and roping the rest of the team into playing." She felt one of them kick, followed by the other kicking. This made her smile. "You both are excited to see Daddy, too." She looked out the window. "Mommy is, too." She spoke with a lowered voice, sighing.

"We should warn the people who live around here."

She thought it was ironic how she had once been a member of the Rising Tide, leaking government secrets daily; now, she was sitting on a beautiful bed in a beautiful alien world that she herself was a part of. Skye was a part of S.H.I.E.L.D., always have been even when she didn't have the right clearance to know. Two different organizations that she'd been a member of just like the two worlds she was biologically attached to.

Skye smirked. If only Miles could see me now. Half Asgardian, about to become a mother, and get married to the loving and protective agent whose fixed smile and baby blue eyes made me feel safer than any protection Miles could provide. The agent – er, man - who had seen my potential and risked his job for me. Something Miles had only taken advantage of. Once again, she looked down at her stomach. Your daddy and mommy had found real love, one that is perfect to create a family with – a family that I know you guys could live innocently in and not have to grow up like Mommy or Daddy did.

She knew how Coulson had grown up, read his extensive file, and any information pertaining to him. He'd come to know her from the research he'd done on her past. They were like two peas in a pod; their lives were so intertwined that one didn't know where their story ended and the other one's began.

Running both hands over her stomach, she smiled. "Mommy and Daddy will be together one day. I'm positive." She sighed. "And you are not growing up calling someone else 'Daddy'."

She huffed, making her point.

"My Highness?" Her caretaker, Amadis – who'd taken over when the pregnancy was discovered – called out before cautiously entering the room.

Happy that she had someone else to talk to, she smiled as Amadis brought a bowl and a washcloth. "You guys know I'm perfectly capable of bathing myself." She said as Amadis set the bowl and washcloth on a nearby table. "Just show me to the showers and I'll be good."

"I am aware." The caretaker averted her gaze from the bowl to Skye, dunking the washcloth in the lukewarm water and wringing it out. "But the healer has also determined your pregnancy to be high-risk. Your Asgardian-Midgardian DNA is fighting against one another, let alone the babies' father's Midgardian DNA. We have only had two Midgardians here – the Daughter of Foster and Son of Coul – so not much is known about their DNA. In this case, you are at high risk, hence the bed rest."

"Yeah, about that…" Skye situated herself, "Your healer has to understand that the babies are seventy-five percent Midgardian, and we don't have to be on bed rest unless there is a problem. My children are developing perfectly fine, thank you."

"My Highness, please calm down." Amadis stressed, trying to calm the agitated woman.

Skye took a deep breath, forcibly slowly exhaling. Her eyes connected with Amadis' stellar blue eyes, glaring at her. The young woman had had about enough of bed rest, more interested in be out and about, possibly even walking out to her 'me time' place.

Just then, her healer/midwife came into the room. "My Highness, how are you feeling?"

"Good in regards to my pregnancy; bored in regards to my position." She gave the woman a glare. "I demand to be allow to walk around." Finally using her authority, Skye grew a backbone. "Thor will hear about this."

"Your father ordered the bed rest. I have no control over the matter." The healer answered.

"Yeah, well," she swung her legs off the bed, "Dad doesn't understand the Midgardian body. I'm getting up and walking around. The hell with his order. I'm a princess." She rose, stretching her back. "There's no need to check on the babies. I can assure you they're fine."

"Please, My Highness, at least let me scan your body and make sure they are okay." The healer pleaded. She stared at her for a few minutes before relenting.

"You'll lift the order, and let me move about the castle." Skye stated, pointing at the woman.

The healer nodded. Skye lay back down and allowed the healer to scan her body. Watching the healer's expressions, she tried to gauge what she was seeing but the woman had a blank expression. Finally after several minutes, the healer dropped her hand to her side, squeezing Skye's other hand while the healer gave her a warm smile. "You are correct. The babies look perfectly healthy. You can travel around the castle."

"Thanks." Skye huffed, relieved that the babies were indeed healthy. She smiled as she slowly got up.

For the first time in a while, she got to head to her 'me time' place where she got to look at the sky. Looking down as she caressed her stomach, she smiled as she spoke to the babies. "I can't wait for you to see this view. It's beautiful and peaceful looking."
