Marinette leads me to a small room underneath a small waterfall. The door is green with allege, and there's a small keypad on the side of door and as she taps in the code she says it out loud and my mouth drops open. "The password is "I love puns?" Bugaboo, all this time you've secretly loved my puns?" Marinette rolls her eyes as there's a click and the door swings open. "I may enjoy your puns, but don't push it, fur ball."
There's a small wooden pedestal in the middle of the room, and again Marinette punches in the code. Then the Miracle Box rises to the surface, and I touch the lid gently. Marinette nods and I open it, looking at all the jewels gleaming softly in the dim light. Of course, the Peacock, Cat, and Ladybug are missing but I turn when I hear a soft sigh coming from Marinette. I follow her eyes, which are locked the spot where the Butterfly Miraculous would go. I step behind her rubbing her shoulders gently. "Don't worry, we'll get it back." "We've been trying for years, Kitty. And even though akuma are rare these days, there not impossible."
"Like you said, Alden could lead us to Hawkmoth and we take the brooch. You've always had a plan from A to Z, love, and you'll figure this out too." "Speaking of Alden, I need to get to the office." "I'll meet you at the Glass Eatery at one. Now scoot!"
Giving her a quick kiss when we exit the sewers, my phone buzzes in my pocket.
Father: Adrien, I have some important to give you, meet me at the mansion.
Adrien: Why should I trust you after all you've done to Marinette and I?
Father: Because it involves your mother.
I gasp. Mother matters, if nothing else does.
Adrien: I'll be there.
Gabriel smiled as he turned to look at Alden. "Adrien will be here soon, so you should head back. He's already suspicious of you anyway. Here is the ring for Marinette, make sure she reads the note." "Understood, sir. Good luck with Adrien."
Gabriel watched the sleek dark car pulling out of the mansion. Adrien and Marinette would soon have the twin rings and he would akumatize them both together, a negative emotion was bound to happen sooner or later. He opened the locket of Emile smiling back at him. "Just a little longer, love."
The gate buzzes and clicks and from outside the gates I can see Father waiting on the steps. This is rare, for Father is a man of shadows and darkness, and hardly ever comes out into the sunlight.
"Adrien, as you know, your mother and I had rings made for each other, twin rings. I want you to have this one before something happens to me." "Are you sure? Its your wedding ring." "Take it, Adrien. Your mother would have wanted it for you, too. Guard it well."
I wonder what evil plan Father has in store for me, but he just places a hand on my shoulder and I blush with shame. Father isn't young anymore, and Hawkmoth or not he's still my father. "But where's the other half?" I ask. "All in good time, son. All in good time." Oh, if only I would have known the meaning of those words, thinking that he just wanted to hang on to Mother's a little longer, but I was wrong.
By the time I'm done with conversation with Father, I'm surprised I'll have to meet Marinette soon. I'm eager to hear how her first morning went.
The Glass Eatery is crowded which is typical for this time of day, people streaming left and right, all in their own little worlds. I play around on my phone as I'm a little early, leaning against one of the pillars.
"I think your always be a model, Adrien. If I leaned like that, I'd probably just fall over." I look up to see Marinette's sparkling eyes and I put my arms around her. "I'd catch you if you fell, M'lady. And you've already fallen for me." I take in her dark green velvet dress. "This is lovely. Did you have a good morning?" "Mm-hm," she's flirty her heads on my shirt. "But answers require kisses." "As much as I want to kiss you, we're out in public." Marinette groans, then brightens. "Follow me."
Feeling devious, I let her lead me to the cluster of offices and Marinette looks right and left, pulling out a set of keys and opens a thick oak door. She gestures me inside quickly, and she swiftly locks it behind her. "I spare you a few minutes of my time, Agreste, but then you'll need to feed me." "How long do we have?" "An hour." I make my face slip into a mock pout. "A hour? That's it?" I tease.
My hands are trailing along her thigh, and I hear her breath hitch. Slowly, I lift her dress off so she's just in her bra and panties and like her dress its a velvet material. "There's no cameras here, correct?" "Correct. Otherwise I would have picked some place else." I peel away the rest of her clothes. "Lean back, Marinette."
I strip down quickly, and climb onto the table with her, sliding right in. "Please, Adrien," she whimpers, and we begin to make love. Since we have to be more quiet, she can only make little sounds, but it stirs something within.
But to soon, we are back in our clothes, fully dressed. "Come on, let's get some food in you." She opts for a smoothie full of peanut butter, and I ask her how she's feeling. "Not that great." I trail my nails against the bare skin of her arm, watching her and the little goosebumps pop out. "Mm, more," her cheeks are apples and her eyes are dark.
Marinette's phone starts beeping and she looks at me saying sorry. "I'll get a car to pick up," I tell her, giving her a hug. Something bumps against me, and I stare at the necklace around Marinette's neck. "What's that, and who gave that to you?" "Oh, Alden gave it to me. Said it was from your father." "The other twin ring. Father gave the other half just this morning." "Adrien-" "Adrien!" We both turn, seeing Alden staring at us, and I push Marinette behind me. "Good to see you! But Marinette, we have a meeting at one and I don't want us to be late."
I don't want to let go of Marinette as she walks away, and she blows me a kiss from the elevator. I find one of the lounges and sink into one of the plush red couches. I'm suddenly exhausted, and before I know it, I'm fast asleep.
Gabriel exited the elevator and spotted Adrien asleep in one of the chairs. The lounge had rows of bookshelf and Gabriel ducked into one of the stacks. Tap, tap, tap went his cane. But no one knew that it wasn't a ordinary cane for it contained two akuma, fluttering waiting to be free.
He pressed the ON button to his earpiece connected with Alden, but only heard static. Good. The meeting hadn't started yet, and he could relax a moment. The plan was to make Marinette frustrated, and get her akuamatized.
The meeting started and Gabriel smiled…..
Marinette's POV
"So, the summer collection will be out soon and I'm very proud to show it to you." I gasp as beautiful outfit after beautiful outfit flips by me, and I know now that Alden Taylor knows what he is doing.
But as perfect as they may seem, I see some flaws or some changes that could be made. "Why have a row of buttons all the way down the dress? That would be tiring for the customer each time. Besides, if you just have three buttons on top of the dress it could look like a little cardigan."
"Marinette, I know your a budding fashion designer, but this is your first meeting." "I'm just-" Alden holds up a hand, and I sit down, annoyed. My baby is moving around like crazy, and if I don't get some air I'm going to scream. "Mind if I go get a drink of water?"
Alden nods, not bothering to look in my direction. What is he up to? Entering a bathroom, I slump down against a wall and transform. I rest my head against the cool wall, and rub my belly gently comforting my baby.
Angry tears well up in my eyes, at least the others in the room should get a say on this! I burst the double doors open and march up to Alden. "I know I'm right, Alden." "Marinette, do you want this job or not?"
"Yes." I say through clenched teeth, but not because I am wrong. I took this job to get to Hawkmoth and to keep my loved ones safe….
Downstairs, Gabriel had transformed, feeling the young designer's anger. "Don't worry, Marinette, here's your chance to show them that you were right."
Marinette's POV…
I stare at the white screen, trying to calm down. But suddenly, a hear the flutter of wings and the world fades away…..
Adrien's POV….
I leap from my chair after having a bad dream. I know something is wrong, but I don't know what. I push the button for the elevator rapidly, I need to get to that meeting. Once I step inside and shoot upwards, I transform, taking the baton from back.
I burst into the meeting room, finding I'm to late for all the people in the room are mannequins, including Alden. But who did this, is Hawkmoth here? I scan the room, put no one moves.
Then my eye catches onto movement and I gasp in shock, my baton thudding to the floor. Marinette, my sweet Marinette has been akuamatized. My nightmare from downstairs has come true, oh, what I am to do?
