It was early in the morning when Bloom and her sister her some noise coming from outside. Wondering what was going on they headed outside and saw that the sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, attempting to kidnap two girls from the mansion.

"You can't just take them!" Naruto yelled

Naruto was in an argument with Tengan but the hashira proved to be stubborn and refused to let go of the girls. Kakashi was leaning against the wall of the mansion and just watched instead of interfering.

"Kakashi, what's going on?" Daphne asked

"Oh well it appears that Tengen has some need for those girls for a very important mission" Kakashi said

"He needs girls for this mission?" Daphne asked with a raised eyebrow

"Apparently. So he just grabbed Aoi and another servant of the mansion and was about to head out but Naruto and that other girl stopped him" Kakashi said

"And you didn't try to interfere?" Daphne asked irritated

The copy ninja sweated.

"Well no one was in danger so I didn't see a need to" Kakashi said

Daphne just sighed and walked over towards Tengen.

"I think it would be better if you would let them go" Daphne said

"This is not something that you can just interfere with" Tengen said

"What's so important about this mission anyway?" Daphne asked

"None of your concern! Now back off! Blondie!" Tengen said

Daphne paused and brought out her hand and a rasengan formed in her hand. She slammed it into the hashira before he could react and the last thing the hashira heard was someone shouting at him to shut up.

Bloom was shocked to see that her sister had lost her cool for a moment and had witnessed her hit the man with a rasengan.

"Hey no fair! I was going to do that!" Naruto said

"Big brother" Bloom said in a scolding tone

Tanjiro and his team offered to go in their place if it would please him. He agreed on their terms only if Aoi would accompany them as a second medic.

"Where is this mission anyways?" Bloom asked

"In the red light district" Tengen said

"R-red light district?! Why on earth would you take us there? Are you some kind of pervert?!" Aoi asked in anger

"What's the red light district? Inosuke and Tanjiro asked

"You really don't know?" Zenitsu asked

They shook their head.

"Bloom tell them what it is" Zenitsu said

Everyone was shocked when they heard the redhead's response.

"Actually I don't know what it is either" Bloom said

"Are you kidding?" Zenitsu asked in shock

"Of course not, I've never heard of this place at all" Bloom said

"You don't need to know the details besides I don't it will that far" Tengen said

The hashira mentioned that it would take several days for them to get there since it was so far away.

Aoi was near a river in the forest and looked down at it and looked sad.

"You usually have a serious look on your face" A voice said

Aoi jumped and looked behind her and saw that it was Bloom.

"Don't sneak up on me like that!" Aoi said

"Sorry, I just noticed you wonder off on your own" Bloom said

"I just wanted to be alone" Aoi said

"In a world full demons especially at night, that's not a very wise decision" Bloom said

Aoi was about to respond when a demon emerged from the water and it looked a cross between a fish and human except it was covered in green scales and had sharp teeth.

Aoi backed off before falling down.

"We need to run!" Aoi said

The helper looked over to see her redheaded friend was just standing her with a smirk on her face.

"What are you doing?! This is no time to start spacing out!" Aoi said

Two more demon fish monsters showed up. The first one charged at them and went straight for Bloom first.

"look out!" Aoi warned

Bloom just smirked, held out her right fist and before the demon could even bite her, it received a punch, and it was so hard that it exploded. The other two charged at her but they got killed in the same way. More and more of them showed up but they were killed effortlessly by Bloom.

Aoi was left speechless because she had just witnessed her friend kill demons with no sword. She just punched them and that was it.

Aoi was finally able to find her voice after some time.

"What did you do?" Aoi asked

"What do you mean?" Bloom asked

"How did you do all of that?" Aoi asked

Bloom understood what she meant and explained about chakra since she wasn't there for the chakra explanation.

"So you don't need a sword at all" Aoi said

The redhead just nodded.

"That's right!" Bloom said

Aoi just looked down.

"I wish I was like you" Aoi said

"Hmm? Like me?" Bloom asked

"I had heard from your friends that you're considered to be a genius and a prodigy" Aoi said

The redhead blushed. She was used to being called that but that still didn't make it any less embarrassing.

"I wish I could be strong like you" Aoi said

"Well what's stopping you from becoming strong?" Bloom asked

"I'm not a good demon slayer. I managed to pass the final selection" Aoi said

"Well the fact that you were able to pass should prove that you can become strong" Bloom said

"You're wrong. It was pure luck that I managed to pass at all. I wasn't cut out for being on the front lines" Aoi said

Bloom just listened to her story.

"I'm no prodigy, I'm nothing like you and your friends" Aoi said

"Not all of us are geniuses. My big brother's not a genius at all and he's no prodigy either" Bloom said

Aoi looked at her friend in shock.

"He's not?" Aoi asked

"No, not at all. He was only able to become as strong as he is now because he worked hard and trained twice as hard as anyone else I know. There's many people in my village who are born with no talent. They needed to develop it themselves. My big brother has some mysterious powers that make people want to change" Bloom said

Aoi just listened.

"Aoi, you may not have been born with talent and even if it was just luck that you survived that test it still proves that you have potential" Bloom said

Aoi just looked away and that made the redhead pout, this girl was really stubborn. She got up and balled up her fist. She then slammed in the ground and the shockwave knocked back Aoi quite a few feet.

The caretaker got up and was about to yell at her but stopped when she saw the crater that Bloom's punch left on ground. She knew she was strong but not this strong. She saw the redhead coming at her and the caretaker was forced to dodge her punches. She tried to tell her to stop but she wouldn't and kept going.

Aoi was forced to duck and Bloom's fist made contact with a tree and the tree was knocked over due to her strength.

Tanjiro and his group were relaxing with a nice meal when they heard a noise and looked over to see that a tree was falling down.

"What's going on over there?" Tanjiro asked

"Follow your god! We shall investigate and exterminate who it causing that ruckus" Tengen said

The only one who followed was Tanjiro because Zenitsu didn't want to leave the campsite and Inosuke was still eating.

Aoi was panting and tried to get her breathing under control. She dodged another punch and grabbed onto Bloom's arm and threw in the river but to her surprise she recovered and landed on the water and was able to walk on it with ease.

Aoi had a few bruises from but none of them were from Bloom's super punches and kicks. She then that her friend threw a kunai at her but she dodge it.

She got an idea and grabbed the kunai and concentrated and water started to flow through the kunai. She made the decision to fight back and used a technique for the first time in a long time.

"Water breathing second form: Ocean's wave slash"

The water from her kunai formed a crescent blade and slashed at her opponent. Bloom got hit and the blow was even powerful enough to slice the waterfall behind her.

The redhead appeared to be unconscious and Aoi dropped the kunai in shock.

Tengen and Tanjiro showed and saw the scene.

"Aoi what's going on?" Tanjiro asked

"I-I don't know. Bloom and I were talking and then she suddenly attacked me" Aoi said

"Attacked you?" Tengen asked

"There were some demons here earlier but Bloom was able to defeat them with ease" Aoi said

Tanjiro ran over to see Bloom and saw her eyelids fluttering and Tanjiro knew what she was doing.

"Bloom-chan, you can stop pretending now" Tanjiro said

"Huh? Pretending?" Aoi asked

Bloom got up and scratching the back of her head.

"Was it that obvious?" Bloom said with smile and blush

"If you were really unconscious then your eyelids wouldn't have been twitching constantly" Tanjiro said

"Tehe~" Bloom responded with short bonk her head

"Don't give me that!" Aoi said

The two boys looked over at the caretaker.

"Why would you do that to me? Do you realized how scared I was? I thought you were going to kill me!" Aoi said

"Well you were so stubborn I didn't know how else to get through to you" Bloom said

"What has happened here? I demand an explanation at once" Tengen said

Aoi then explained the rest of the story.

"After hearing your story, there's no doubt that she was possessed by a demon!" Tengen said

"Possessed? She was possessed?" Tanjiro asked

"That demon blood that had gotten on her probably had some type mind control so she wasn't able to control her actions" Tengen said

"Actually" Bloom started before being cut off

"I see that makes sense. I'm surprised Aoi was able to defeat her though" Tanjiro said

"I'm not sure if I defeated her" Aoi said

"Actually she didn't defeat me" Bloom said

"She didn't?" Tengen asked

"Not at all, in fact I could've easily dodged her slash attack if I wanted to" Bloom said

"Hold on! Are you telling me you took the hit from my attack deliberately?" Aoi asked

"Yup, that's right" Bloom said

"Why?!" Aoi asked

Bloom just walked behind the waterfall where some rock was.

"Hey! I'm not done with you yet!" Aoi said as she ran after her.

Everyone then noticed the giant slash on the rock wall behind the waterfall.

"Quite a scar this rock wall has here" Tengen said

"Indeed I wonder where it came from. Have any idea Aoi?" Bloom asked

Bloom's smile never left her face.

"Why are you asking me?" Aoi said

"I'm asking because you're the one who did it" Bloom said

Aoi was shocked and so was Tanjiro.

"This was from Aoi's attack?" Tanjiro asked

"That can't be right. It must've been one of your attacks that did this" Aoi said

"I was only coming at you taijutsu. Punches and kicks can't do that to a wall. It was sliced and it was from your attack. I believe you called it the ocean wave slash. That was the only attack that sliced the waterfall" Bloom said

Aoi couldn't deny it. Bloom was right because she wasn't using any slicing weapons.

"But…what does this mean then?" Aoi asked

"It means your potential is starting to grow" Bloom said

The redhead reached into her bag and pulled out a Nichirin sword.

"Where did you get that?" Aoi asked with suspicion

"I asked to borrow this" Bloom said

"Did you really ask?" Aoi asked

"Okay I might have taken without asking" Bloom said

"YOU STOLE IT?!" Aoi asked loudly

"Ninja steal all the time" Bloom said with a pout on her face

"We will just leave at that then. Redhead, you will be in charge of her training until we arrive" Tengen said

"Why can't you train me instead? You're a hashira" Aoi said

"If I were to get into a training accident then the mission would be deemed a failure" Tengen said

For the next several days Bloom had been helping Aoi train her sword skills. Aoi found out during a training session that during their fight that her new friend had held back a large majority of her power. The better Aoi got the less Bloom held back. She also found out that Bloom was not as slow she seemed to be. In fact she was the very opposite of slow, she was fast, really fast.

On the third day they were near another stream of water and Bloom summoned some fire balls and Aoi managed to deflect them all and then collapsed.

"Let's take a break" Bloom said

"No I can keep going" Aoi said

"I admire you're determination to keep going but its better rest or else you'll just collapse and then you'll be out for an entire day at most. Knowing you, you would've said something like I rested for an entire day while I could've been training instead? Or something like that" Bloom said

Aoi groaned and gave in because she knew that Bloom was right.

"Fine, we'll take a break" Aoi said

Two more days went by and they finally made it to their destination.

"Look alive trash, we've arrived" Tengen said

"Could you stop calling us trash already?" Aoi asked irritated

The team then started to make preparations for the real mission that was about to start.
