Welcome To chapter 4! Just a quick head up on what you will read; the title says it all! Now, review-answering time!
Weegee1: Why thank you! I hope that what I bring is likable. Eternal out!
SomeoneHopeful34: You are welcome that I answered your question, and I like how you deep loreing this story so much with just three chapters 9four with this one if you leave a review) and also, I do in fact have a Wattpad account, and I'm in the process of getting confirmation on Ao3. Thanks for the tip, friend.
Ring of Heaven: Wow...T-Thank you. That is the best and nicest review I have gotten from this story, just starting. I hope that I brought interest in it and that Ellis's character and interaction with Fredina were good. Hope I continue to bring enjoyable chapters.
nexusplayer: Well, well, well. What do I have here? If it isn't the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, blessing me with his presence.=
And that's it! Let's now start the chapter!
*Smack!*
"Ah!" A young Ellis, somewhere around six years old, cried as he fell to the floor, a red mark on his cheek.
"Ugh! How dare you, you brat!" A masculine voice shouted. "I work hard to bring food and you dared to, not only eat everything, but asking to leave some for tomorrow?! How ungrateful you are!"
Ellis bites his lips. He can't even say anything because that's just going to make things worse.
"Love. Forget it, this shit stain is to dumb to appreciate our efforts, unlike his sister." A feminine voice spoke, sounding bored and disappointed. "Aside from making himself a good 'release target' and doing chores for the house."
"Tch! He's lucky to be useful in those things. Can't believe I waste…" Ellis could care less about what the hell those two monsters called 'parents' were talking about. He just wants to crawl back to the hole he calls 'room'. "Are you sure we can't just sell this thing?" His father suggested, and Ellis felt fear gripping his heart.
They even ignored his name already.
"No." The mother declined. "Look at him. Barely has meat, normal smart, and his incompetence? We'll only get much if we actually prepare him."
"Bah! Let him learn by himself. We have more things to worry about; we barely have enough money to pay for our daughter." The father growled.
Ellis hated it. Always comparing him to his sister. All because he isn't smart enough to rival her. She's Mommy and Daddy's favorite-it's always her!
"You punk! Get the fuck out of here! Go and clean the bathroom, and I better not see a speck of dust!" Ah, the small part of light called mercy.
Without hesitation, but difficulty, Ellis stood up and ran to the bathroom.
…
…
…
The camera zooms back, showing a static TV screen. Moving back, we see the older Ellis, staring at the TV with a neutral look at it, a remnant of his childhood forming on it before he changes the channel with his remote, changing the channel randomly. ('Why do I always make this repeat?') Ellis sighs as he sits on the couch.
It was 2 PM that day. Ellis slept his eight hours in peace and ate something, now, he was looking through the TV to see anything. Just a bunch of a few movies, not good but meh, it's Tuesday. Nothing good is on a Tuesday.
(AN: Millions of people that object to this statement began to sneeze without reason.)
"Sigh…Sometimes, I wish things were a bit easy." Ellis randomly said as he stood up and walked up to the fridge, next to it was Goldie…holding a can of Sprite. "Meh, no use complaining now. I found a job, albeit I'm still trying to believe I will not die by getting stuffed into it." He said as he opened the fridge and pulled out a can of soda, opening it. "I mean, at the moment, maybe this was all a prank by Johnny, like a double meaning prank, you know?" He closed the fridge and walked back to the couch…the golden plushy having disappeared from its spot. "Still, if it is, how does the boss allow this? Speaking of him, I do hope to meet him and ask why he didn't inform me about roaming free robots. Has he never seen the Willy Wonderland movie? Probably got the idea from there…" Ellis stops talking as he processes what he just said, never seeing Goldie on the couch, holding a bucket of popcorn. "...Huh, that ain't a bad description. Unfortunately, I can't act like our Tiger, Nicolas Cage. Curse my condition and confidence." He flopped on the couch and began to look for the control, "Now where is…Oh, there it is." He grabs the controller that was on Goldie's nonexistent fingers. "Thanks for holding that Goldie." He thanked the plush before changing channels.

…
…
To be completely honest, I don't know how to feel about this ignorance of his.
('I wonder how's the pizzeria doing.')
(Meanwhile, at Fredina's)
It was 3 PM. The pizzeria was full of children going around the place, and families eating meals.
Right now, we focus on our favorite animatronics, who have gone to rest for an hour to let their servers cool down in Parts & Services. "Wow! We sure had a lot of customers for today!" Chiku said.
"That we did." Fredina said as she rested on top of a table, cleaning her microphone. "It's a joy to see the children still acting like they used to be." She sighs in joy.
"Aye." Fexa said, spinning her right hand around, "Just glad that I changed that hook for a bloody hand. Who's the moron who thought 'twas a good idea t' galleon a real hook on an animatronic fer a family establishment?!"
"Careful now, Fexa." Chiku spoke, trying to calm the fox's outburst. "Your accent is coming out."
Meanwhile, on the corner, Bonfyie stood still, her head down as her mind went through several thoughts.
"...Bonfyie?" The Bunny Girl looks up to see Fredina's concerned eyes on her. "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah, I am." Bonfyie replied. "I…just wondering if Mister Night guard is coming back." That made the other two stop their talk and join Fredina.
"He just started to work here yesterday. Why wouldn't he come to work?" Chiku asked.
"...B-Because I ask something I shouldn't have, a-and he won't come." Bonfyie began to twirl her fingers together.
"Sis. I already told you." Fredina patted her on the head in comfort. "Ellis isn't holding it against you. You didn't ask something out of malice. He told you so."
"Even so, I…I feel bad." Bonfyie confessed. "I…I never said anything to make the others feel sad or mad before, without reason." Not even to that guard she…almost had a mutual connection with.
"Ah, don't worry, Bon-Bon." Chiku brought her sister a hug. "New guard is understanding! I'm sure he meant it when he told you to not worry!"
"Chiku's right. If you feel the need, you can apologize and I'm sure Ellis will accept it." Fredina said.
"...Okay." Bonfyie shyly nodded. "I'll do that when I can."
"Good. And if he doesn't accept your apology, just give a whistle and I'll make him accept it." Fexa glinted her left eye with a smirk.
"We are not doing that." Fredina quickly shot a glare at her problematic sister. "Ellis hasn't done, yet, anything to earn your wrath. I ask of you that at least, get an understandable reason to threat him, Fexa."
Fexa simply rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Right. Which is why I warned him about doing anything like the others or get to see a doc and never come back right after you guys left."
"You what?!" Bonfyie and Chiku shouted in horror, the bunny's ears flying back, comedically.
Fredina facepalm. "I should have known. Why would you go and clean your room at four in the morning?" She asked and should have noticed what Fexa was planning.
"Hey. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't smell anything on him and simply wanted him and us to be as safe as possible." Fexa said with its robotic limbs crossed.
"But you are still giving him the 'Pirate scum' glare until he proves to you he isn't a wolf in sheep clothing." Fredina deadpanned.
"Give me a good reason as to why I shouldn't have my guard up, after what half of the other guards try to do to us." Fexa growled.
At that, the bear simply sighs, knowing that the wine-red fox has spoken the truth. Most of the guards didn't…Yeah, she ain't gonna sugarcoat it. She's glad Fexa did what she did.
Thankfully, they had a little 'insurance' to help them.
But Ellis…she couldn't help but look to her right palm. Feeling the sensation of his left hand on hers. There was something…familiar when they touched each other.
…
…
…
('I shouldn't say it like that.') Fredina internally blushes at her choice of words for a younger guy than her.
The point is, she feels something…different about Ellis. She'll give Fexa the benefit of the doubt; she can't say if Ellis is good or bad. ('I can only hope for the best.')
"Speaking of," Fexa brought Fredina's attention back, seeing the pirate raising her non-existent eyebrow. "Why did you start calling him by his name? What kind of name is Ellis, by the way?"
"What's wrong with it?" Fredina asked, "He was polite when I asked him. It would have been shameful of me to not call him by that after all the shocking scared we put him through."
"Uhm…The fact that you called his first name isn't weird enough?" Fexa asked.
"Oh, it's not his name."
…
…
…
"What?" Fexa telepathically flips her eye patch up.
"You weren't there because of your 'trust issues' but he mentioned not having the best parents as he grew up. From what I could deduce, his name, and probably last name, reminds him of them and wishes to forget about them." Fredina explained, making the other two look at her, remembering Ellis' words.
"...For the sake of sounding concerned and not like a bitch, you…believe him?" Fexa questioned.
"Fex-y." Bonfyie spoke up, getting sad. "He's only seventeen, and coming out of school."
"And he has never eaten pizza for fourteen years!" Chiku dramatically commented.
That made Fexa blink several times before flipping back her eye patch down. "...Fucking great. He's from an abusive family, just what I need to find out now."
"If it makes you feel a bit better, it seems that his Uncle is taking care of him now. And it seems the guy cares for him far better." Chiku chirps out.
*Beep-Beep*
An alarm began to sound as all girls perked at it. "Alright. Breaks over gals." Fredina began to stretch her joints. "Back to making kids smile."All animatronics nodded and began to leave one by one.
Fexa simply waved at her departing sisters as she headed back to her improved Pirate Cove. Sporting her usual pirate-self, her mind couldn't help but go in a loop on what she has learned.
The new guard is a child, trying to live in a world where it has been an absolute nightmare. That just made her growl even more, how could a parent treat their child horribly? If they didn't want one, why the hell didn't they just put protection on themselves?! That just made her super mad!
…
…
…
No idea why, I mean, he has just one year to go before becoming an adult and she knows nothing of the guy…But…
Huh…strange…
('God, what the heck are these feelings and thoughts?') Fexa shook her head around to clear her thoughts. ('Just because I have a soft spot for children doesn't mean I have to feel like a mother bear to all of them, especially those who are about to become adults…')
But that's exactly what it means to be a Mother Bear-
"Shut up!"
(Later, somewhere around 6 PM)
"And then I said to him, now that's a katana!"
"...Is this supposed to be the part where I laugh?" Ellis deadpanned at his neighbor's talk, one Mr. Oum Monty.
"Bah! Young people these days don't know true culture. You see…"
Ellis sighs at hearing the 57-year-old man. He had come to wash his bedclothes in the washing room, just as the residential talking old man came to do the same, and began to start talking about his life.
Nothing wrong here, except that Ellis somehow ends up hearing half of what he says.
"So, I heard you got yourself a job! Congrats, boy!" Oum congrats.
"Yeah, thanks." Ellis thanks, although still processing about the events that are going to happen. "Is…a very interesting position."
"Bah! As long as you behave and focus, you will be alright." Oum waved off. "And consider that it is you, disappointment is not part of your resume."
"I hope so." Ellis sighs as he notices that his clothes have finished. "Ah, it's done. I better go and get dressed, I'm entering work soon."
"Ah, that's nice of you to be prepared in time. Better than my son when he was your age, I tell you." Tomayatsu began to speak, and luckily for Ellis, he heard his phone ring. "Ah, speaking of, I believe that's him. Better leave now, I don't think you will like this conversation."
Knowing the man's words ring true, Ellis grabs his basket of cloth and scrambles away. He was just entering his apartment when he began to hear screams that would put a banshee to horror and shame.
"Good God. Old age will be a nightmare." Ellis commented as he placed the one-handle basket down. "Just hope I don't end up like…yeah, let's not think about that."
*Ring-Ring!*
Ellis blinks in confusion at the sound of his phone ringing. Following the sound, he saw the device being held by Goldie, who was on the table. "Huh…Did I leave my phone with Goldie? Could have sworn I left it charging…" Shrugging, Ellis took the phone off the plushie's stubby limbs and answered. "Hello-"
"Mr. Ellis! Good evening!"
Ellis hummed in surprise at hearing his boss. "Mr. Fazbear. Good evening. Is there something wrong? Actually, how did you get my number? I don't remember giving it to you."
"Hahaha! Worry not, my boy. I had Johnny pass me the number from his line." Mr. Fazbear explained.
('But…it's a answering phone.') Ellis's sweat drops.
"Moving on. I called to ask you how your shift was. I seem to have…forgotten to inform you about the girls free roaming on the night." Mr. Fazbear sounded embarrassed.
"...Yes. Color me horrified and scared to death. Even more when Johnny casually left a message telling me that they 'might' put me in an endoskeleton." Ellis deadpanned.
"Ah. I apologize for that, Mr. Ellis. It wasn't my intention to leave that part out. As you have heard me say, I was in a desperate position for a night guard. I had hoped Johnny would tell you in a less…scary way." Ellis could only roll his eyes at that. "I mean, most of the guards who accept the job only last five days, at least a few. The longest ones were between 3 months and almost 4 before giving their resignation or getting a better job. Thankfully, nothing life threatening has happened, and the girls simply move for about an hour before going back to the stage."
Ellis felt confused at that relief tone. "What, but-"
"Don't."
His spine suddenly shudders at hearing an unfamiliar whisper in his ears. Looking around in panic, seeing nobody. ('...Ooooooookay? Hearing voices in my head is added to my next appointment.')
"Mr. Ellis? Are you there?" He was brought back by his new boss's voice.
"Huh? Uh, yeah. I'm here."
"Good. Moving on, I do know you have started just yesterday, but can I have you come at 10?" Mr. Fazbear asked, making Ellis hum in confusion.
"I…don't think it is a problem, but can I ask why?" He did and was answered with a heavy sigh.
"I…must confess to you truly. Night guard isn't the only job position I have a problem with. Just today, my janitor resigned from his position. Thankfully, he was the third one; the first lasted longest until he had to leave town, and the second one had to leave after a failed marriage." Given the explanation, Ellis could see where this is going."I was hoping you could do this side job for a while until I get a replacement? Of course! I will raise your pay for the extra hours; good heaven would I abuse authority to my employees' hard work."
"Surprisingly…"
Ellis looked around once again, trying to be completely sure he was not losing his marbles, but sure enough, he saw nobody. This time, however, he returned to the call. "Alright. Seems acceptable to me."
"Wonderful! Then I will inform Johnny to explain in detail what to do when you get there! Have a good shift!" *Beep*
Ellis pulled his phone away, staring at it for a while before shrugging. "Okay. Either my luck has begun to rise a little, or I am still sleeping on my bed…Well, a bit of a raise ain't bad." Seeing nothing wrong with what he was offered- "Hold on! I forgot to ask how much my pay is!" He facepalm hard his face, groaning at the lack of questions he needed to know.
"Let's…just-." He looked at the watch in his room, seeing that it was 7:10 PM. "Okay. Have time to tidy up my room, eat dinner, and take a bath." Wasting little time, Ellis left for his bed, having already his backpack prepared and lying on the couch. "Keep an eye, Goldie!" He shouted to his plush as he left…
Completely ignoring Goldie's position on top of the backpack, tiny green glowing orbs floated on its black eyes.
