As Numbah Vine whispered her plot to Gabe, they didn't notice the surveillance cameras zooming in on them. Shortly, alarms sounded, startling the two. The hatch door to the jungle pod opened, and in walked Numbahs Ordinal and Nominal, grabbing Numbah Vine and 74.239. The two plant aliens were dragged down the hall way until they were each tossed into a jail cell - Vine being tossed into the same cell as Chad, whose face had donned a worried expression.
"Thought you could pull a fast one on us, eh? Enjoy your new rooms, then!" Nominal cackled before he and Ordinal walked off.
Numbah 9L and Nigel had been watching the whole thing go down from the other end of the hall. Nigel sighed, "I can't take this anymore.. the way these innocent kids are being treated is just so hard to watch.." the boy's eyes widened as if he reached an epiphany. ".. wh-what if all these kids had their homes destroyed as well?.." he then heard Numbah 9L let out a deep sigh.
"That is unfortunately correct, Numbah One," she said with a forlorn expression. "The worst part is that once their home is destroyed, they often start to lose their minds.. but not in a crazy sort of way, more like a sort of depression. They realize that their loved ones had been brutally murdered, and it pushes them over the edge to the point where.. they just don't wanna live anymore.. the disturbing thing is, I've heard there had been multiple suicide attempts in the past, as well as incidents involving self-harm.. some of those who become the last of their kind often bring death unto themselves instead of waiting for it," Numbah 9L explained solemnly, "Others persevere beyond the demise of their people, in hopes of either starting a new legacy all on their own.." She pursed her whiskered lips for a moment, "..or make a difference while branding the status of the last of their kind, sort of like a badge of honor." Nigel looked like he was about to cry again, but he quickly felt a boost of courage run through him. "no.. no more moping.. I'll show these extra terrestrials what I can do."
Numbah Vine sat in the corner of her cell, her expression contorted into one of defeat. She looked at Chad for a moment, then looked out the plexiglass window. "I assume you're trying to free all these space kids, too?.." Chad glanced over at the alien spider plant, a monotone expression plastered onto his face. Vine nodded, "On my home planet, freedom was as basic of a right as food or water. As long as I'm still thriving, I'm upholding that same standard. For ALL of us.".." she suddenly saw Nigel and 9L walking over to them. "I agree with every bone in my body. It's time we begin to set things right for these children!" he said with a bit of confidence in his voice. He then snapped his fingers moments before a long, loud electronic beep sounded and a rumbling sensation shook the floor. Then all the hatch doors and cells opened up and all the kids came pouring out into the main lobby. Chad's hand cuffs detached from his wrists as he, Vine and Gabe quickly rushed out of their cells before an even stronger quake shook the mothership, and a massive hatch door opened, sucking them all out into space. Luckily, Nigel and Chad's uniforms each activated built-in space helmets and suits right as they got outside. Numbah 9L swam out to them as Nigel pet her forehead, "Excellent work, 9L!" The giant periwinkle feline trilled and nuzzled him in response.
Just then, the mothership began to vibrate before the glass dome on top opened up, and out came several tentacles, along with 5 grotesque looking, dragon-like heads, resembling that of a hydra. Their eyes glowed crimson red as they let out a mighty, blood-curdling roar. "WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SUDDEN INSURRECTION??" snarled the massive beast in its five voices. Many of the kids were terrified at this point, but it seemed as if some of them, including Nigel, Vine, Gabe and 9L had taken more than enough of the abuse and torment. "That would be me.." Nigel said with a quiet, but serious tone, breaking the silence. "What you did to me and all these other innocent children was inexcusable, deplorable and sick, and we will no longer stand for it!" Alpha Zero was a bit shocked at how the young boy was speaking to them.
"This is NOT what the Kids Next Door stands for! We fight to protect all the things that make childhood so great! Not abduct children and destroy their homes!
"And clearly YOU know nothing about being a Kids Next Door operative!" Chad added on, only for Alpha Zero to snap back. "We'll abduct A MILLION children before we let this organization collapse, and WILL NOT hesitate to DESTROY ANYONE who dares to stand in our way!!!! So either give in, or forfeit your lives!!" Suddenly, a blast of energy hit the giant alien leader in the chest, knocking them backwards a bit. It was Numbah 9L, who shot the beam from her mouth. "We aren't scared of you, Alpha Zero!" hissed the over-sized feline. "Yeah! And we'll never be scared of you again! Numbah One and 274 are right, this isn't ethical, and we WILL battle for our rights if necessary!! Your days of manipulation and emotional abuse towards innocent beings ends now!!" Vine shouted, raising her thin, leaf-laced fists in opposal. The other space children exclaimed in agreement. Alpha Zero let out a snide cackle as Numbahs Ordinal and Nominal appeared on each of their sides in the form of what seemed to be two dragons, one black, one white. "We accept your challenge. Crushing you all should be a breeze~ Prepare to be absolutely annihilated!"
With that, the kids and Alpha Zero all swooped at each other, engaging in what seemed to be the final battle.. the battle to finally end it all.
