Chapter Six

Tadashi waved from the porch to his father, who was now walking down to path to his car. "Bye bye daddy!" He exclaimed, causing his father to turn around at the gate and smile back.

"Good bye Tadashi!" He waved back. "I'll see you later tonight. Remember, one of the neighbours will be picking you up today. She's not too young anymore, so be on your best behaviour!"

"Yeah I know!" the boy chimed as he ran inside the building, rolling his small eyes.

Yoshio opened the pure white gate, got in his car, and took in a deep breath before taking off down the busy streets of Tokyo. How he even had a car, he had no clue, but for now, he wouldn't question that small miracle.

He swerved down the busy streets keeping his patience in the traffic. His anticipation was building the closer he was to his destination, the secret pub just around the corner from an old run-down warehouse by the docks. Just a few more blocks and he would arrive. He had already planned everything the previous night. He had called up his friends this morning before Tadashi had even woken up and arranged the whole meeting. They did not question him at all regarding the sudden get together, despite their lack of contact over the last few years.

In and out he went, driving furiously between each vehicle, thoughts raging within his head. Would they accept his plan? Surely they would, understanding his given dire situation of desperation. After all, he was losing his wife to disease, he had to support his son, and most importantly he did not think he would be able to remain sane should anything worsen further than it already had.

Yoshio Ichihara had been so caught up in his thoughts that he nearly missed the turnoff to the dockyards and had to swerve around the corner, tires screeching, in order to avoid another fifteen minutes around the block. He took in a breath of relief as he may his way down the street, old rundown warehouses and shipping yards on either side casting their looming shadows from overhead onto the car. There was a particular building though he was in search for, but where was it?

One thousand fifty, one thousand sixty, one thousand eighty, the numbers on the warehouses kept climbing further and further down the abandoned street. One thousand ninety, two thousand, he was finally here. The little car slowed to make the left-hand turn onto what looked like a property that had been abandoned for at least fifty years. There was moss growing everywhere and water stains running down the panels of the green walls turned grey as the sky began to spit at the world below. Ichihara stepped out of the car and slammed the door shut, not bothering to lock the door before stalking over to the large heavy metal door on the front of the warehouse and knocking in an intricate patter three times.

After a few seconds passed by, that seemed to be centuries, the door suddenly swung open with supernatural speed and force, startling Ichihara. He peered inside and grinned widely when he saw no signs of life and strode into the dark empty building with a newfound confidence.

"Well well," he began, "I see things are just as I left them years ago! It really has been too long now hasn't it? Just the same, it is most reassuring to know you have all come regardless in loyalty after all this time."

"Of course, how could we not?" a female voice spoke in the shadows from behind a pillar. "We have been long awaiting for the day when you would return to us now." The woman now emerged from the shadows with long wavy orange hair and was dressed completely in black from head to toe and had the sleek walk of a cat.

"You've certainly cleaned up well haven't you?" declared a most amused voice opposite her. "I would never have guessed who you were had I not been told prior! Did you really change? Or was it all just for her?" the dark haired man inquired as he stepped out of the shadows.

"Come now children," Ichihara laughed, "You all know very well my reasons for change, which were worth it might I add, but I need your help which is why I've called you back after all this time and is it ever fantastic to see you again. I have a plan, but I cannot see through to it alone. Where are the others?" His face became serious and darkened immediately.

"Oh, they bit the dust quite a while ago," stated the woman in a bored manner while inspecting her blood red nails, her indifference shocking Ichihara. "But of course, you wouldn't have known that having cut us off for the good side for the last few years. Isn't that right Mori?" Her eyes pierced his very soul with the cold stare of death she shot at him.

"Now now Mari, there's no need to guilt him, after all he found a treasure far greater than any of us ever have. I'm sure you would have done the same," he coaxed. "Now, tell me Yoshio, what is this plan of yours that has caused you to return to us for assistance. We are at your service my liege," he bowed with a smirk.

"Where to begin dear friend?" he replied solemnly.

"At the beginning as all great stories are begun and plans devised of course." smiled the red headed lady.

"Alright, well let me begin with where we left off then, so as to better understand the plan of today." The others nodded in agreement, seating themselves on old dusty wooden barrels. "After I left the brotherhood to be with Mizuki ten years ago, I was in need of a job to support ourselves and was hired as an electrical engineer at the electrical control center here in the city, I'm sure you know the one. It was a very competitive job with a competitive salary and we were living quite happily. We eventually married three years later, and two years after that, discovered that Mizuki was pregnant. The next year, our son Tadashi was born and changed our world; I had never been so happy in my life."

The eyes of his audience were losing their focus as if to say "And the important part is...?"

"Well, two years ago when Tadashi was two, Mizuki's health was worse than normal. As you may remember, she was always ridden with chronic illness, though still we took her to the doctor and were shocked with the results. Besides the diseases she already was suffering, we discovered that she was also dying of cancer. Mizuki has been fighting against is ever since, though it is very rare, and the known types of medications are beginning run out that she is able to take. I've been paying an exuberant amount of medical bills now for the last two years to help, though it has become more than I can afford, especially now that..." he paused before choking out, tears beginning to stream down his face, "now that I've been laid off from my job, have to continue to feed Tadashi, pay the medical bills, the rent, and now after visiting Mizuki last night, I've been told that unless she undergoes a very complicated surgery, she will have at the most two months left to live. The problem is I have no job now, no more money, and it costs eight or nine million yen! Tadashi cannot grow up without his mother, I cannot raise him without her, and I most certainly cannot let her die, but she needs the surgery!" he cried out, slamming his fist on a nearby pillar before looking back up and continuing slowly with his entire body shaking. "So this is where you and my plan come into place. In order to gain the money I need, the only way we can go about this is to steal. We must steal from those who possess wealth. Though in order to allow the proceedings to go smoothly, we must use our advantage. We must use our magic. I don't want any innocents injured, but should resistance come and it is in best interest of the group, necessary measure should be taken. Consider it self defence if you will. Now, we need to obtain this as soon as possible, so we commence the operation as soon as possible as quickly as possible. Therefore, I also feel that we should recruit others, pass on the power, and enlarge the brotherhood. Though of course, to do this, we will have to clear memories and brand them with our symbol," He stated showing them the black skull tattoo on his wrist. "This way, we can control them to ensure they work for us rather than running amuck. So tell me your thoughts. Mori, Mari, are you with me on this? Please my friends, I beg of you." He pleaded.

"Well, if saving Mari means saving you, then we are with you through and through." replied Mori with a serious face.

"The plan sounds brilliant, especially having come from you after all these years. Please, tell me, when do we begin the hunt?" Mari said as she flashed a wicked smile.

"We start tonight."

And with that, the trio began plotting the entire conquest, mapping out every detail, every target, tracking houses, and planning 'attacks'. They would follow their leader in need until the very end. After all, they were a brotherhood, once sworn by blood and faith.
