Still Going Present Hunting

~~~Kid's Troubling Present Hunt (part 2)~~~
"Are we there yet?" complained Kid for the millionth time
"Hey stop complaining you're the heavy one here." grunted Liz and she and Patti continued to carry Kid to Death City's town center. "But, yes we're FINALLY here."
"Kid-kun~ You need to lose weight!" said Patti
"Alright, if you guys are tired just set me down. We shouldn't be that far from the town center anyway. But, please make sure to set me down at the same time and gently please." said Kid
"Okay Patti, on three let's set Kid down gently on three." explained Liz, "One-"
Patti let go of Kid before Liz said three making Kid's legs fall hard lower body fall hard to the ground.
"JAJKAOSDIFJWONGPOWJDOFJS! OOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW! SCRAP! SCRAP! THAT HURTS SO MUCH! PATTI! WHY DID YOU LET GO OF ME! AH, LIZ PLEASE HELP ME! I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS! PATTI! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" wailed Kid as he flailed in Liz's arms
"Giraffe!" pointed Patti as she started to chase down a person in a giraffe mascot suit
"AH, WHAT! NO, WAIT I'VE SEEN YOU BEFORE! OH, NOOO! PLEASE, LEAVE ME ALOONNNNEEEE…" cried the giraffe mascot as he turned away from Patti and ran while failing his arms around like maniac. But of course Patti wasn't just going to leave the giraffe alone, no, she was going to hunt it down.
"Must get giraffe!" screamed Patti
"Wait Patti!" yelled Liz
"See ya sis! Sorrwy!" said Patti as she saluted Liz and started to chase after the giraffe mascot and disappeared in the sea of shoppers.
"Wait Patti! Come back! Don't leave me with this idiot! Pat-" shouted Liz, but she stopped when she found a million eyes staring at what had just happened.
"Umm… Don't mind me or this guy. He just has problems. Take his hair for example. See how one side has three white stripes and the other doesn't. Doesn't it look weird?" chuckled Liz nervously as she tilted her head at Kid's hair
Everyone just stared for a couple of seconds before they went on doing what they did and acted as if they had seen nothing.
"Whew that situation was this close to ruining my image forever. Am I right?" sighed Liz "Anyways, Kid I think it's just going to be you and me. We'll search for Patti later."
Liz was still holding on to Kid's arms, so she tried to pull Kid up.
"Come on Kid." grunted Liz "Kid?"
"Why? I'm so asymmetrical. You said so yourself. Obviously, I'm not fit to be seen around here with you. I not fit to be a shinigami. Why? Why was I born with such a title when I don't even deserve it. I'm a failure. Just leave me here to rot and die." said Kid his voice trembling like crazy
Great, I have seriously done it now. What do I say? I basically said everything I could think of when he was depressed before. Why does he have to be like this? thought Liz
Liz was silent for a couple of minutes as she started to mentally paste together her "grand" speech that she would give Kid. But, she couldn't think of anything over the small sniffles that Kid made. Liz didn't want to act like she didn't care, so just like she had did before, she would just let a flow of random words come out of her mouth.
"Kid. You're a great person and shinigami. You're perfect. Excluding your hair. I mean, uh sorry. But, Kid. Seriously, you are perfect. You're mature, kind, a perfectionist, and you're a great meister and I'm not just saying that because I'm your weapon. Sure, you're weird with your OCD, but that's what makes you special. That's what I like, no, that's what I love about you Kid." said Liz firmly as she looked down and smiled at Kid
"Eh?" said Kid as he could feel his cheeks turn a little hot
"U-u-hh. N-not in that way K-kid. I mean as like a-a-a-" stuttered Liz as she got fluster flustered and turned super red.
NO! I said it in the wrong way! Don't tell me Kid thinks I like him! Really?! How could this get anymore awkward! Liz thought as she tried to find a way to tell Kid what she really meant.
"Don't get so flustered Liz. You're red as a beet. It's alright. I get what you mean. " chuckled Kid "Love as in a friendly way right?"
"YES! I mean,uh, yes." said Liz as she tried to compose herself
Thank you so much for Kid's smartness! Thank you! Thank you! Forget this, my day just got better! thought Liz as she set down Kid's arms and danced in joy.
"Come on Kid! Now, I definitely feel like shopping for Maka's present now!" said Liz cheerfully
"Uh. I can't." replied Kid
"Are you still depressed about your hair. Listen Kid I'm sor-" said Liz before she was interrupted by Kid
"No, that's not it. I'm fine. It's just...my legs feel all tingly and jelly. I'm just saying that they feel really weird and I don't think I can walk without crashing into everything I see. So...umm…" trailed Kid
"What Kid? Can you speak up and quick because we literally spent almost half the day carrying you here, going through that whole situation where I had to give you this whole moving speech which I thought was pretty good. It was just beautiful. I cried inside." bragged Liz as she continued to rant on about her "grand" speech
"I need you to...carry me. There I said it!" said Kid quickly
"Uhh. Are you sure you can't stand up by yourself?" questioned Liz as she walked over to Kid
"Positive. I mean I could try, but I'm pretty sure I would break my face and mess it's symmetry up. So, I rather not take the risk." answered Kid as he stared at the sky which was clear of clouds
It took a long time before Liz answered.
"F-f-fine. I guess there's no other way. I mean clearly you can't fit in one of those baby strollers, so I guess I'll carry you." said Liz reluctantly as she scratched the back of her neck
"Good. Now-"
"Wait. Do you want me to carry you in a specific way? Bridal-style? Piggyback?" asked Liz
What am I doing? Bridal? Piggyback? Oh gosh, this just keeps get weirder and weirder. thought Liz as she rubbed her temples
"Piggyback is fine." answered Kid
"Ohh, well. Okay…" said Liz as she awkwardly bent down and waited
Kid grabbed onto Liz's shoulders as Liz carried his legs and hoisted him up.
Oh my god! This is so awkward! thought Liz as she started to walk deeper into Death City's town center
"Umm...Liz is it okay if I wrap my arms around your...neck?" asked Kid "I mean it's fine if you don't want to. I understand. I mean this is really awkward, so yeah. I just don't want to make it even more awkward."
"T-that's fine. I-I don't really care." said Liz
"Really?" questioned Kid
"Really." reassured Liz
"Okay. Then, here I go." said Kid as he gingerly wrapped his arms around Liz's neck causing her tense up and turn self conscious about whether or not her hair was clean
Huh? Don't tell me I'm starting to fall for Kid? Nah, I mean he already has his eyes on Maka. Maka needs him. Plus, it was just the spur of the moment. thought Liz as she and Kid started to look at shops that surrounded them, but it was somewhat awkward with everyone staring at them as they passed by
"So earlier, the word scrap huh? Didn't you mean crap?" said Liz trying to break the silence and clear the awkwardness
"I prefer to not say such words in public. I mean, I don't want to say such things in public." replied Kid "So earlier, the word love huh?"
"Shut it! You already know what I meant! Don't remind me or I'll drop you." warned Liz as she felt her face turn hot
"I know what you meant." reassured Kid "It's funny though."
"What?" questioned Liz
"No, it's just that sometimes you look so cute when you get flustered." chuckled Kid
"Yeah. Yeah. Just keep your eyes on the stores." said Liz coolly, but inside, her heart was racing like mad as she continued to carry Kid around Death City's town center.
