Justice League of Amazons: Fire & Blood

Chapter 14

Aegon felt himself be dragged into the dark forest and he struggled like a trapped animal. If it weren't for his armour, his back would've been scraped down to the bone. Then with a screeching of metal against stone, the Valyrian realised he was now inside a stone structure. Suddenly he was lifted into the air, his arms and legs spread apart. Panting for breath, Aegon looked around where he now was.

He was in a massive room, and a dull purple-green glow shone down everything. Lit braziers which flickered with purple flames. Then a cold regal woman's voice spoke. "Prince Charming? In my grasp at last!" the owner gloated with wicked glee.

Aegon looked to see the owner of the voice. It was a woman wearing an elegant dress with a thin golden crown on her brow. A gloating look was on her painted face as she fixed Aegon a chilling look. Aegon then tried to break free of his bonds.

"So long have I waited for this moment, Prince Charming," the regal woman stated. "And now I have you and Snow White in my grasp, at last!" she gloated.

"Snow White? Who are you talking about?" Aegon asked, perplexed who this bizarre woman spoke of.

"Do not play the daft fool with me, Charming One!" the woman spat angrily as she waved a hand and a mirror rose from the floor and in the glass surface, Aegon saw Wonder Woman wearing a beautiful white dress laying on a bed asleep.

"Wonder Woman?" Aegon breathed out. "What have you done to her?!" he demanded angrily looking at the witch.

"In a deep sleep she will be in, until True Love's Kiss is put upon her lips," the witch replied. "But sadly, you won't be able to do such a thing, Charming One," she said with an evil grin on her ruby red lips.

"See if I won't!" Aegon shouted as he struggled through his bonds. With a roar of exertion, he wrenched one hand free of its trappings. With one arm free, Aegon desperately tried to free his other limbs.

The witch laughed, a high and loud sound that echoed throughout the throne room. "Fight all you want, Charming One. You'll only delay the inevitable," she boasted.

"Not if I kill you first!" Aegon spat furiously.

"And how will you be able to such when you will be mine?" the witch asked softly before she waved hand and tendrils of green smoke reached and enveloped Aegon. The Valyrian fought like a madman, trying not to breathe in the emerald vapours but he began to choke as he was forced to breathe in and he slowly began to lose consciousness. His eyes closed and he fell still.

For a long moment, Aegon was still. Then his fingers began to twitch as the green smoke began to wrap around his frame and his armour began to darken turning an ebony black colour. His helmet began to shape, changing to one resembling a Greek Spartan soldier's helmet albeit with a pair of demonic horns, one on each side and a row of cruel looking spikes on the crown. The visor had a t-shaped eye slit and a pair of glowing red eyes snapped open and what was once Aegon Targaryen rose to his feet, seeming bigger than before, breathing in that first of air.

The witch approached the transformed Aegon and spoke, "How do you feel, my champion, my Black Knight?" she asked hopefully.

The Black Knight then knelt down on one knee, bowing his helmeted head and replied in a deeper more menacing voice. "I live to serve you, my Queen," he said almost reverently.

The Queen smiled and laughed. "Arise, my Black Knight," she commanded. "It is time to conquer this new world and take back what is rightfully mine!" she declared as the Black Knight rose to standing position and stood beside his Queen a black bladed sword coalescing out of green smoke appearing in his hand.

Dinah and Helena made their way through the dark forest, leaping over tree roots and branches that hung low.

"This'd go a lot easier if we could burn our way through all this!" Helena complained as she jumped over a tree root that was in her way.

"Yeah, it would be, but we'd risk burning down the entire countryside," Dinah told as she pushed away some tree brambles. "We have to keep moving! We gotta find where Aegon, Power Girl and Wonder Woman went," she said.

"We don't even know where they might be!" Huntress stated. "They could be anywhere in this fucking forest!" she spat.

"There's a castle, right?" Black Canary said and Huntress. "We find the castle, chances are they'll be there held hostage," she surmised.

"Yeah, but which direction is the castle in?" Huntress asked.

"Maybe if we climb one of these trees to the top, we might be able to see where the castle is," Canary guessed as she began to climb the trunk. Huntress scoffed before pulling out her crossbow, attaching a grapnel line to the bolt, aimed at the highest tree branch and fired the bolt which streaked up and its broadhead tip punctured the bough. With the click of a button on her crossbow, Huntress was lifted off the ground and zoomed past Canary who glared at the brunette who gave a playful wave of her gloved hand.

"It's not a race!"

"If it is, I'm winning!"

Helena smoothly climbed onto the topmost treebranch, poking her head above the leaves and looked out ahead. Dinah soon joined, brushing leaves out of her blonde hair. "See the castle?" she asked the brunette who pulled out a pair of binoculars, looking through them.

"Has this forest grown bigger since we've been here?" Helena muttered in growing concern.

"Has it?" Dinah asked.

"Yeah… I hate magic," Helena muttered in distaste. "We need to radio Hawkgirl, ask her if anything's changed on her end," she said to Dinah who nodded and put a finger to her communicator.

"Hawkgirl, this is Canary, come in."

There was a brief sound of static, before Shayera's voice came through. "Canary, this is Hawkgirl, reading you loud and clear. What's the situation?" her voice asked.

"We think this forest has grown bigger. We're trying to find the Castle, but we're not having much luck," Dinah replied. "Has anything changed on your end?" she asked.

"We've evacuated the transformed civilians, and Zatanna's trying to do a spell that will clear away the forest," Shayera said over the communicator. "Have you run into any interference or hostiles yet?"

"Negative. We haven't run into any more hostiles since the first encounter," Dinah replied but Helena tapped her on the shoulder and pointed ahead. "Waitaminute, we just spotted something," the blonde said as she looked to where Huntress was pointing. "What the hell is that?" she wondered as her blue eyes squinted to see what was approaching them.

Then a massive roar was heard, followed by an enormous black shape flying over them and then a massive river of fire raining down on the trees.

Dinah hardly had a moment to register what had happened when Helena tackled her off the tree branch they were standing, just in time as the tree tops were engulfed in burning red flames.

Helena loaded another grapnel line to her crossbow and fired it at a nearby tree, grabbing Dinah as she did so. The line went taut and the pair of them swung down towards the ground, tumbling head over feet onto the earth. Dinah gave a groan of pain as she spat out a mouthful of dirt and leaves.

"Did you really have to do that?" the blonde asked Huntress accusingly.

"You're welcome," Helena grumbled sarcastically as she stood to her feet, brushing herself off. "That was a fucking dragon we just saw!" she remarked.

"Yeah, this just got more complicated," Dinah muttered as she called Hawkgirl, this time speaking more urgently. "Hawkgirl, come in! We've got trouble!" she said quickly.

"We heard it. What is it?" Hawkgirl's voice asked.

"We've got a dragon on our hands! Repeat, big, scaly and breathing fire!"

"Acknowledged! Get back here ASAP! We don't need you two being out there with a dragon flying around!" Hawkgirl ordered them.

"On our way. Out," Dinah said before tapping her communicator. "Let's go!" she said to Helena who nodded as they both began to run back to where they'd left the others.

TO BE CONTINUED…

A/N: There! After nearly two years, I've finally updated this story! Kept you waiting, huh? And I do apologise for this chapter being so short after nearly two, maybe three years of no touching this fic, but hey at least I got something out for you all. Hopefully the next chapter will be much longer and have more content in it.

I hope you all enjoyed the part where I had the Queen of Fables turn Aegon into the Black Knight and I have some ideas of some powers The Black Knight could possibly have. But apart from that, I haven't got too much more to say about this chapter.

Some ideas I have for this story that may be further down the line will be the inclusion of some Marvel Comics characters such as Emma Frost (one of my favourite X-Men characters and an all around babe) and even some Witcher characters like Ciri or Triss Merigold. Another idea is an invasion from Earth-X AKA Nazi-Superman and his JL Axis company, but that might be a while off yet and depends on my creative mood whenever I sit down to write.

And apart from that, I haven't got anything else, so I'll leave this here and catch you all in the next one.

Be kind to one another,

Angry lil' elf.
