A/n: Due to the contents of this chapter, I'm changing the rating of the story to mature. Although I don't think it's really warranted, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hence, reader discretion is advised as the imagery may or may not upset you. Even though I don't think the gore is nearly as extensive. You have been warned.

Midtown Manhattan

Empire State Building

4:57 PM

Percy strode into the lobby of the Empire State building, drenched to the bone. The sound of him walking echoed throughout the lobby. Curiously, however, there was not a drop of water to be seen on the floor.

Outside, the rain had worsened to the point it muted most other noises. Demonstrated by the fact that there was barely any traffic noise heard inside despite there being a traffic jam of monstrous proportions right outside the buildind. The only thing heard was the raid pelting the structure mercilssly.

This storm was undoubtedly one of the worst ones Manhattan had experienced in the past few decades.

"This reminds me of the day I fought Thor," Percy mused to himself.

The elevator guard looked up from the magazine he had been reading (a once in a lifetime occurrence) to look at the person approaching his desk.

"We're currently closed for all visitors," he said, looking pointedly at Percy, "kindly leave the premise." he said with a tone of finality, before going back to reading his magazine.

Just as the rain fell, indifferent to the world, Percy calmly walked towards the elevator, unbothered by the fact that he was asked to leave.

"To the 600th floor, please", Percy stated, walking up to the guard's desk.

"No." replied the guard, looking Percy straight in the eyes. "Leave or you will be made to leave, sir." he continued, his expression unchanging.

Lightning flashed outside, accompanied by a thunderous boom.

The awkward silence that had permeated the vicinity was broken by the phone on the desk ringing.

The guard answered the phone before ending the call with a mutter of 'yes sir' before he put the receiver down again.

"Seems like you are to go up to the 103rd floor instead," the guard told Percy, his eyes still having the same bored look to them, "King's orders," he finished.

Percy raised an eyebrow at the man, not expecting such an unusual response. He could swear that an army could invade Olympus and the only thing out of the man's mouth would be the words 'no such thing as a 600th floor'.

'Well this isn't foreboding...' thought Percy, as he gave the guard a thumbs-up and walked towards the elevator.

Just as the guard was about to sit back down, he heard a growl.

His eyes widened as he swerved to look at Percy's retreating back.

"Wait!" cried the guard, trying to stop Percy. "What was that growl?" he exclaimed.

Percy continued walking towards the elevator, ignoring the guard altogether.

"No pets allowed, Perseus!" he shouted at Percy.

Percy simply smiled his lopsided grin as the doors of the elevator started closing.

"What pets?" he fired back, before disappearing behind the elevator doors.

Atle looked over at Sally, smiling as he saw her texting someone whilst smiling.

Currently they were sitting in the car, stuck in traffic. Sally's apartment was just a 5 minute walk away from their current position so Atle wasn't too worried about the traffic.

Atle had known Percy for...a while. However, outside of him, he didn't really have anyone else. He used to, once, but those days were long gone.

'It had been raining just like this, 8 years ago, when Sally had had her first fateful meeting with us' Atle reminisced looking at the traffic light.

"How's Estelle doing nowadays?" Atle asked Sally, bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Hm?"

Atle sighed, "I asked how Estelle has been doing?"

"Oh!" Sally brightened at the thought of her daughter. "She's been doing quite well recently! She even made a friend! A proper one!" the genuine excitement in her voice was enough to make Atle smile at the kindhearted woman.

"Grover was the name, I think..." she continued.

"That's amazing!" replied Atle, then he continued, "as expected from my niece! She's named after me afterall!"

"You wish!" Sally replied cheekily.

Sally and her husband, Paul were probably the only friends he had other than Percy. Their kindness had been almost overwhelming at first. They had helped him assimilate into the society a bit better. Plus, Sally made some amazing food. An instant win in his books

"I'll come visit in a week or so," Atle told Sally.

"Of course! Try to bring Percy along as well!" she replied, elated.

Atle chuckled, "I'll-"

He was cut-off by an extremely loud explosion.

4:59 PM

Percy made his way over to the balcony of the 103rd floor, only to spot a man standing there already, looking at the sprawling city below.

He had neatly cut white hair and a trimmed beard. His black suit was embroided with a running silver stitch and his plane red tie enhanced his eyes, which were a captivating electric blue.

The oddest thing about him, however, was the fact that despite standing in the rain same as Percy, he wasn't wet at all.

"Great minds think alike, Perseus." Said the man, turning towards Percy in order to greet him, "or so they say..." he trailed off.

"Zeus," Percy acknowledged, "I don't know what you mean," he made his confusion known, looking right at those intense flashing eyes that seemed to crackle with lightning.

"I was on the verge of summoning you when you came knocking," he clarified before turning back to look at the city.

"Why so?" Percy asked curiously, raising an eyebrow at the diety, not that he could see him, what with his back turned to him.

"You first, uncle." Said Zeus plainly.

Percy scoffed at him, "Venti are rampaging all across Manhattan," he said testily, "obviously I'd come to have a word with you."

"Noticed that, did you?" sighed Zeus, his eyes scanning the wind spirits that plagued the skies.

Percy silently walked over to the low railing of the balcony, fierce wind howling in his ears, to stand beside Zeus, waiting for him to continue.

"My master bolt has been stolen," stated Zeus.

Percy kept looking straight ahead, listening to Zeus' troubles.

"The four winds have started to rebel as well..." he continued with a weary sigh, "I have lost almost all of my control over the sky because minor gods have banded with the four winds" his features were set in a tired scowl.

"It's called Karma," commented Percy.

"Hah! As if!" chuckled Zeus.

There was a moment of silence.

"I need a favor."

"I noticed."

"So..."

"I don't do charity, Zeus."

"Yes you do!"

"Not for gods I don't."

Zeus sighed, his fists clenching as he looked Percy straight in the eyes, who met his stern gaze with a bored expression.

"If you help me out, I'll revoke the ban." said Zeus in a defeated tone.

Percy gave a savage grin, "remove it right now and we have a deal."

"Fine," grouched Zeus.

Percy could swear he heard his teeth grinding over the sounds of the howling wind.

"You must really need that favor, huh" muttered Percy.

Zeus just placed a hand on his shoulder and muttered the words: "I hearby release Perseus of his oath." As thunder boomed overhead.

"Thanks a lot, man!" grinned Percy, patting Zeus' back, "what do you need me to do? Find the Master Bolt?"

"No." Zeus replied curtly, "I already have others doing that."

"Interesting..." mumbled Percy with his smile now showing a little too many teeth.

"I need you to go and teach certain gods a...lesson." Zeus said, his eyes flashing.

He looked at all the Venti rampaging once again, sneering.

"These small fries have started to underestimate the King of the Gods!" He bit out.

Then a few things happened all at once, Zeus raised his hand as lighting fell down on him.

Holding the lighting in his bare hands like a lance, Zeus pulled his arm back before throwing it at a Ventus.

The bolt of lightning pulverized the monster instantaneously before creating a chain, jumping from one Ventus to the next.

In under a second almost all of the Ventus were annihilated, with the scant few that remained rushing over to the Empire State Building.

"They think all I'm good at is using my Master Bolt," muttered Zeus.

Then he turned to Percy, giving him a little nod before flashing away as Percy covered his eyes just as Zeus did so.

"Come on out!" shouted Percy, "it's time to hunt!"

Hearing that, a wolf materialized besides Percy.

It was almost tall enough to reach Percy's chest whilst on all fours, with it's pitch black coat glistening with the raindrops and it's forest green eyes that glowed in the dark, it made for a very intimidating sight.

"Good girl, Lögn!" Percy praised the wolf, patting her head.

The wolf, Lögn, in turn made a throaty growl of appreciation.

"Let's go!" Percy shouted, running towards the railing before jumping off entirely, heading straight towards the Venti flying their way.

5:32 PM

A hellhound the size of a truck came bounding from the side of the road.

Crashing through a small shop at the corner of the street, near the turn that led to Sally's apartment, the beast started to rampage in the square.

People started running out of their cars as the hellhound trampled over them, tripping over its own legs as it ran around.

"That truck's lost control!" someone screamed.

"Daddy!" Screamed a kid, "Mom's stuck!" he cried pointing over at a woman who was promptly squished under the hellhound.

"Sally! Atle!" someone shouted as Atle scrambled outside of the car, followed by Sally.

"Paul!" shouted Sally, looking over at the sidewalk, "What are you doing outside?! It's dangerous-" she was cut off as Atle grabbed her waist and jumped over the SUV to their right, whilst holding onto her, in an effort to get off of the street.

There was an explosion as a car was crushed in the hellhound's powerful maw.

Atle made his way over to Paul, who was barely standing. He noticed that Paul's face sported several cuts and bruises and his right arm was bent at an awkward angle.

"Are you alright?" asked Atle, raising his voice in order to be heard over all the chaos.

Sally, however, had no such reservations.

"Paul?! You're bleeding! What happened to your arm and-"

"They took her..." spoke Paul abruptly, looking at Atle with desperation.

"I tried to stop them but-" He broke off, looking at the ground, ashamed.

Sally quietened down as she heard that. Her mind screeching to a halt as she heard the news.

"Who took her?" Atle asked him calmly.

"Some...some blond boy with a scar," he said, "there was this large dog- no monster...and...and they-!" It was clearly visible that Paul was barely holding it together.

Understanding the man's plight Atle decided to not inquire any further. "Which direction did they go in?" he asked, interrupting his downward spiral.

In the background the screams were getting louder as the monster continued in it's, frankly, uncharacteristic rampage.

"Towards central park," said Paul.

"Don't worry," said Atle, "I'll bring Estelle back safely."

His voice was filled with conviction, which seemed to help the worried parents somewhat.

"I'll help you in any-" started Paul but was interrupted when the hellhound roared at the top of it's lungs. in the background.

"Just take care of your wife," said Atle, handing Sally over to Paul, "and get out of here ASAP!" he ordered.

Then Atle launched towards the hellhound.

The skies of Midtown Manhatten

Near the Empire State Building

5:33 PM

Due to the lack of platforms that one tended to encounter when mid-air, Percy had taken to jumping atop the Venti to get around, using them like glorified, albeit angry, platforms.

Their numbers that had previously been in the dozens, now barely had a dozen.

They had started dropping like flies when Percy's assault had originally started.

It wouldn't have taken him as long had he not 'played with his food' so to speak.

"I love the rain!" Percy shouted, looking more and more like a deranged maniac by the second, "It keeps the clothes clean while I hunt!"

Lögn howled her affirmation, sinking her teeth into another Ventus' neck, making it burst into a shower of golden dust.

Lögn then growled as she maneuvered mid-air in order to fall on a nearby rooftop due to her lack of a flying platform.

"I agree!" Percy shouted heartily, whilst plunging his bare fist into a Ventus' chest, "It would have been better if they bled!" as the monster became golden dust.

The lupine grin of his companion was mirrored on Percy's face.

Then a bird swooped down on Percy, stopping just before it hit him.

"Caw!"

The bird had shiny black body with similarly shiny black feathers, it had a curved beak and a diamond shaped tail, signifying that it was a raven.

"Huh?" Percy asked the -now identified- raven eloquently.

"Caw! Cacaw!" said the raven.

"Really?" asked Percy, his tone suddenly a lot subdued, unbothered by the Ventus that was buckling wildly underneath him, trying to throw him off.

"Caw..." replied the raven.

"Take me there," said Percy as he killed the Ventus he had been holding onto.

"Kluv!" Percy called, "get rid of the remaining Ventus"

Another wolf, this one with a thick white coat and bright yellow eyes appeared.

Growling his acknowledgement it jumped up to a rooftop before going off towards the remaining Venti.

"Let's go! Föl!" Percy addressed the raven, which circled around in the sky before flying west, leading Percy.

Amsterdam Avenue

5:47 PM

Percy arrived on the location, having ran all the way there.

The first thing he noticed was the horrendous smell that hit his senses like a freight train. Then came the sound. People were screaming, some crying with dozens of police cars, ambulances and firetrucks thrown into the mix. It was loud, to say the least.

In front of him was a scene that belonged in a horror show. That, or in a particularly brutal battle field.

The was blood everywhere. The rain pounding on the asphalt did nothing to drain the blood that seemed like it was used to pave the entire road.

Cars were strewn about, some crushed and flattened others relatively unharmed save some dents.

The buildings on the corner of the crossroads were demolished as if someone had kicked it's sides as a child would a sandcastle on a beach.

There was chaos all around him, the firetruck were trying to control the flames that littered the entire area while paramedics tried to salvage the situation somewhat by trying to save the victims.

As Percy strode forwards, he felt something squish under his feet. His senses overwhelmed as they were, had failed to notice the area he was walking in properly.

Percy looked down despite knowing that it was better not to do so.

He cringed as he sidestepped the flattened corpse of a woman. Her face was the only indication that it was a female. Her body was flattened and her insides had come spilling out.

'That explains the smell...' he grimaced.

Similar corpses were littered all around. No one noticed him walking amongst the mess of brutalized bodies due to the authorities being somewhat preoccupied as well as the Mist obscuring him somewhat.

Then he noticed something in the corner of his eyes. Seeing it, he ran straight towards the sidewalk.

"Sally!" he shouted. Running towards the woman, who was sitting on the stairs of a mostly intact shop.

Her lower lip was busted and she was currently being held in a comforting embrace by her husband.

"Paul! What happened?" he asked the man beside Sally, his voice low as he approached them.

Although he tried his best, some of his internal worries showed on his face.

Sally then looked up at him.

Immediately he noticed tear stains on her cheeks and then he looked at Paul, only to see a similarly defeated expression.

"They took her..." he said, his voice hoarse.

"They-they took her...and Atle, he...went after them." Said Paul as he looked at Percy's now blank face.

"Søk," Percy called out quietly, "look for Atle." he commanded.

He received an affirmative growl as another wolf, this one grey, with white socks and blue eyes slinked towards an alley, sniffing the pavement all the while.

"Go get checked up," Percy addressed the parents, "I'll find Estelle and bring her back to you."

Due to him being turned away from them, they couldn't see his murderous expression as he said those words.

"Don't worry," he said, "I'll hunt them down for you."

A/n: This was supposed to come out a week and a half ago but I fell into this cycle to removing and adding stuff from the chapter. Hopefully the next update won't take me as long as it did.

I have a few questions for the readers as well!

1. What chapter length do you prefer? I'm comfortable writing between 2k to 5k words per chapter but I don't know what length would be comfortable for you to read.

2. I'd like to ask if you'd prefer I sensor the violence like I did this chapter or go all in, no holds barred with the imagery?

Fair warning, there is NO romance in this story nor anything similar. This story will be mature only due to it's violence and imagery, NOTHING else.

Leave me a lot of reviews! I read and appreciate them all!

Till next time!
