After the initial shock of realizing that they had managed to land themselves in Konoha during the Third Shinobi War of all things, they began to try to plan how to go about this even without changing too much.
Keyword try.
They couldn't really agree on anything. On one hand, you had Naruto who wanted to try and save everybody that they knew first-hand or second hand, which was going to be impossible. Sasuke didn't really care too much about the war since he hadn't lost anybody he knew or cared about. Lastly, Katsumi was about just changing two major events: Obito Uchiha dying at Kanabi Bridge and stop her parents from dying during the Kyuubi attack.
In the end they had decided to call it quits for now. They had quite a bit of time before they had to really decide on anything.
Naruto's brow furrowed in concentration as he sat cross-legged on his bed. When he had gotten back home, he had found it was empty and found it was as good a time as any to contact his resident.
'Oi!'
'Do you have to be so loud?' A familiar voice grumbled from deep in his mind.
'Kurama! I've been trying to contact you for ages!'
"Why? I'm tired. Let me sleep.'
'Why do you need to sleep?
'I'd like to see you wide awake after sending your sorry asses 18 years in the past! I told you once, and I'll tell you again, I'm not ready to die yet!'
'Oh. Well….Can we go back home?'
'No. Your timeline was destroyed.'
'What?! How?!'
'Think of your universe, your previous world, as a bubble. There are other bubbles outside of yours that you are not even aware of. When I decided to help your sister in sending you back, the large amount of power I released burst the bubble as I reversed time. So, this is a similar universe but there will be differences as we go along. So, sorry to 'burst your bubble.'
'That was a terrible pun, Kurama.' Naruto snorted. 'Anyway, what does that mean for us? Will we cease to exist when our baby selves are born?'
'No. Two of the same souls can't exist on the same plane of existence so whenever your parents have a child, it will be a completely different person from you and your sister.'
'Oh. So, if that's everything does that mean that all our nonexistent planning would have gone too waste?' Naruto asked in dismay.
'No. A plan would do you well because, as this universe is different than the other, that makes it all the more unpredictable. Now, leave me to rest!'
Naruto grumbled as he was suddenly brought back to awareness. He sometimes really hated the fact that he had a furred asshole living in his stomach. He was going to be having words about this with his father- maybe…possibly…depending on how things went.
Right now, he had to go tell Sasuke and Katsumi what he was told.
Sasuke stared resolutely at his dinner plate, refusing to even answer the questions Mikoto threw at him. He couldn't bring himself to call her mother because it hurt too damn much. And he especially couldn't look at his brother without seeing him walking towards him with that stupid, loving smile on his face as he poked his forehead for the last time.
"Sasuke-kun?" Mikoto called out worriedly, reaching for him.
He flinched back slightly but still didn't look up from the plate. A hard lump had settled into his throat and there was a itching in his eyes but he ignored these signs.
He was Sasuke Uchiha. An Avenger, The Last Uchiha, and he'd be damned if the nickname Crybaby was going to be added to that list as well.
"TEME!"
The shoji door burst open his blonde idiot of a teammate burst through the door. Everyone, including him, turned to the boy with one or both eyebrows raised in question. Naruto chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Sorry but I need Sasuke!" He shot forward and grabbed the pale boy with a strong grip before yanking him out of his seat.
Sasuke would refused to admit that he had been caught off guard and nearly crashed into his friend.
"Now wait a-"Mikoto started, jumping to her feet.
"I'll bring him back before midnight!" He sniggered as he shunshined out the main house.
Sasuke jerked his arm back when they landed wherever the hell they had landed.
"What the hell was that for, dobe?"
"One of my longtime friends has told me something really important! Have you seen Katsumi?"
"No… Don't you usually know where she is?"
"Well, yea, but she cut off our connection after that fight we had."
"Hn."
"Seriously, can't you use Sharingan to find her?"
Sasuke scowled. "I can't see through walls, dobe. That's Byakugan."
"Why are you talking about our bloodline, Uchiha?" A snooty voice asked from behind them.
They both turned to see a Hyuuga that was around the same age as them. He had dark brown hair and the usual Hyuuga eyes. He was dressed in Jounin clothing and was staring at them with at them in contempt.
"Hey, you have those freaky eyes! Help me look for Katsumi! She looks like a girl version of me."
"What? Why-"The unnamed guy took a step back when Naruto entered his personal space.
"Just look for her!" He yelled.
He raised a brow but activated his bloodline anyway. He turned in a slow circle and came to a stop in the general direction of the hot springs.
"So, is she-?"
The dude suddenly shot back with a stream of blood flowing from his nose, effectively knocked out. Naruto glared darkly at the man but ignored him, which was surprising when it came to men even thinking about his sister in the wrong way.
"I have a feeling where she could be."
"Can't this wait?"
"No."
Katsumi settled down into the water until it reached the top of her shoulders and sighed in relief.
"Relaxing, isn't it?"
She shot up with a terrified scream as she her head turned to the right. Her mouth fell open at who she had come face to face with.
"Why are you looking at me like that, 'ttebane?" The red-haired woman demanded.
"N-No reason, 'ttebayo." Katsumi stuttered in fear. She had heard enough stories about her mother to be slightly afraid of her temper.
"Hey! You have that weird verbal tick, too! The name's Kushina Uzumaki!"
"I'm Katsumi Namikaze. Nice to meet you."
She shivered as the air suddenly dropped ten degrees. She blinked and when she opened her eyes again, she screamed. Her mother was right in her face, fingers trying to break her shoulders.
"You wouldn't happen to be that pansy ass's daughter or anything, right?" She practically growled out.
Katsumi deadpanned. "Kushina-san. We're only about 5 or so years apart."
"Oh." Kushina let go of her with a sheepish laugh. "How about we forget this ever happened? Hi! The name's Kushina Uzumaki."
Katsumi giggled and before she could re-introduce herself, there was a commotion outside before a familiar blond came barreling in.
"Katsumi-!"
"PERVERT!" Kushina screeched as she punched Naruto right in the nose, sending him flying through the opposite wall and into the street. Katsumi snorted at the look Sasuke was sending the unconscious blond.
"Sorry, Kushina-san. I have to….Kushina-san?"
Her mother was slightly slumped over with a glazed look in her eyes.
"Kushina-san?!"
Man, it's been FOREVER since I updated. Welp, since my last semester of my first year of college is almost over (woo woo!), updates should be more frequent than 3 months (0.o). Anywho, is kind of annoying with not letting me keep my changes the way I want them!
Anywho, hoped you enjoyed this chapter. I have a bit more of an idea of what I want to do with this story now, lol!
