Alec stared, baffled. He had a sister? He looked toward Nichole who was trying her upmost best to smile. And then back at the pink cat who was looking at Nichole and Richard in surprise, the two looked nearly identical. Alec looked toward Nichole again as she spoke up,

"Hello Lexy dear, is your Father home?" She said looking at the young girl sweetly.

"Yeah, but he's asleep. What are you doing here?" Lexy responded sounding genuinely surprised.

"Well uh, we're in a little predicament..." she said glancing at Alec at this Lexy looked toward him for the first time and her eyes widened in shock at seeing the limp Jamie in his arms.

"Come in, I'll go wake up dad." Lexy said hurriedly turning and running up a shag carpeted stairs. Alec pushed the ajar door open further as she had closed it halfway upon her leave and walked through the door. Nichole and Richard followed. Alec stepped into the living room and carefully set his girlfriend on the couch. When he stood straight again he looked towards the stairs as a human with dark brown hair came racing down to meet Nichole with Lexy in tow. When he reached Nichole he gave her a hug -even though he was only wearing boxers and a t-shirt. The man who must be Frank let go of Nichole and looked at her.

"Who's hurt?" he asked to which she looked at Alec and Jamie and Frank did the same. Frank seeing Alec looked at him with astonishment then anger. Quickly Frank pulled a small pistol from a pocket that was sewn into his boxers and aimed it at Alec. "Put your hands up!" he yelled and Alec immediately put his hands in the air with wide eyes.

"Frank!?" Nichole yelled "what the hell are you doing?"

"I don't know if you know this Nichole but he's a wanted felon!" He responded Alec guessing he had obviously seen the news report.

"No Frank listen, he's a good kid." Nichole said trying to coax him into putting the gun back in his pocket. "Please Frank just put the gun down." When she said this he hesitated and started putting the gun down just as a woman appeared at the top steps and leaned on a nearby railing. She was a small human with blue eyes, all she was wearing was a night gown similar to the one Nichole wears.

"Frank" she began and after a moment's hesitation she included Nichole and went on "and Nichole, what are you two doing down there?" at that moment she saw Alec and proceeded to yell. "And what is that kid doing here?!"

"Nichole you'd better explain..." Frank said finally holstering his pistol and then looking at Nichole. Alec on the other side of the room lowered his hands and looked at Nichole as everyone else already was. Nichole now with all attention on looked at Frank.

"He's your son." she said which earned her a look of befuddlement from what Alec guessed was Elizabeth and Frank.

"How could he be my son? I've never been with anyone but Elizabeth." He responded which was retaliated with Nichole saying,

"Yes he is your son. He's both you and Elizabeth's son in fact. He was just born in a different way." Frank looked at her and then looked at Alec who didn't meet his eyes.

"How?" he asked once again, to which Alec spoke up.

"I was born from a genetic engineering tube and as everyone knows you need two things to create a baby. Though I don't know how they got the "DNA" exactly, I still know your my father." he said which made Frank and Elizabeth blush slightly and as no one responded he continued "I would be thankful if you would please help my girlfriend.." Frank looked up at Elizabeth who had a blank look on her face.

"Right, I'll get my old medical kit." she stated and continued to disappear for a minute. When she appeared again she had a large green case with a cross on it and she hurriedly went down stairs to Jamie's side and quickly examined her wounds. "Jesus! What happened to her?"

"She was tortured by the agency." Alec responded with monotony. The agency tried to take everything from him, there was no reason to keep their secrets anymore.

"The agency? What kind of organization is that?" Elizabeth said carefully unwrapping the poorly fashioned gauze and examining the wounds closer. At that moment Alec chose to turn away, he wasn't in the least bit squeamish but Alec feared seeing Jamie in the current state she was in would cause him to fall apart. He hasn't looked at her closely in direct light yet and he wasn't sure he wanted to.

"They're very high up. And vague." he said answering her previous uncertainty.

In response her brow furrowed in thought and she said "I'll have to look into that." As she said this she looked around and noticed everyone was listening to Alec and her, "Can you please let me work?" she said annoyance dripping into her voice. At this everyone was ushered out of the room by Frank as he knew they shouldn't bother her or else she might get angry. After some struggling with Alec, who didn't want to leave the girl, he managed to get everyone in the kitchen area. The kitchen was small and average with a simple island and bar stools around it in the center. All the other kitchen supplies were around the island in cabinets. Alec hesitantly sat on a stool and let his mind envelope him with scenarios and losses. He did everything he could to keep his guilty mind off Jamie and her almost fatal kidnapping.

Why would they go through all this trouble to get me? I know they want me because I 'betrayed' them but they've got to be getting a little restless. As Alec thought he failed to notice Frank staring at him with a thoughtful expression on his face. When Alec finally noticed he asked, "What?"

"I still don't understand this whole ordeal." He began, "How could they possibly be able to create an entire being and expect it to be a soldier?"

"Well I'm not exactly a normal kid. They've altered my genes to be the best possible mix of you two, though I don't know how I look more cat than human. And apparently they've added some 'physical' enhancements as well." He answered looking Frank in the eyes his previous fears gone. To this Frank came up a blank as he had no idea how to respond so he nodded and turned back to his own thoughts. Alec did the same.

When Alec finally came back from the thoughts that plagued him he noticed that the four people in the kitchen were all deep in thought. Nichole, her mind on her children, wondering if they would find a safer place to stay. Richard, his mind wandering and unfocused still shocked at the ramifications of their current situation. Frank, his thoughts on his newfound child and his complete distinction from himself and Elizabeth. Lexy, on the other hand was staring at Alec intently. "What?" he said, a moment after their eyes locked.

She shook her head and responded "nothing. It's just that I can't grasp the fact that I have a brother."

"Yeah, and I can't grasp the fact that I have a sister." He said referring to his suspicion of her the moment he saw her. Alec looked like a cat because of genetic engineering, but she looked almost entirely like a cat AND she was pink, like Richard. A human and a cat that is mostly human when naturally procreating should produce an offspring at least 90% human!

Alec stopped looking at Lexy who was slightly confused by his response and he turned himself to the past. A thought popped into his head and he turned his head in Nichole's direction.

"I should go bring in Anais, Gumball, and Darwin. I'll pull the car into the garage as well in case the agency decides to search around."

Nichole looked up and nodded and Alec pulled himself to his feet and headed out the back door of the kitchen, avoiding confrontation with the unconscious Jamie. The stars were out, and it was a beautiful night but Alec couldn't enjoy it with so much going on. He walked to the left corner of the back of the house and walked down the small walkway between the fence and house siding. When he got to the front he walked across the grass and the driveway to the family wagon parked at the curb. He popped open the back seat door and looked in. Gumball, Anais, and Darwin were still in the same place as they were last time and he reached in and picked up Anais who barely even stirred. Once he had her cradled to his chest he went to shake Gumball and Darwin awake and after some failed attempts they opened their eyes and groaned looking toward Alec. "C'mon guys come inside, there should be a nice bed that'll be better for you." He said just above a whisper and Gumball and Darwin groggily got up and moved toward the exit of the car on Alec's side at the mention of a bed.

When they filed out of the car Alec had to grab hold of Gumball's hand who grabbed Darwin's to get them moving. Alec was forced to hold Anais with her sitting on his arm and her arms around his neck which made her head fall into his shoulder. He moved toward the front door at a slow pace and opened the door and headed up stairs just as easily. He looked around and saw a clearly labeled door that said 'Guest' he opened it and herded Gumball and Darwin into the one double bed and gently unwrapped Anais from himself and placed her between Gumball and Darwin who huddled closer to her under the covers. Alec's heart warmed for a split second before he closed the door and sealed a wall between him and them. 'Apart…that's how we should be..'

Well, it's been a while. I feel this chapter was very long awaited and I'm sorry you had to wait so long. I originally wanted to get this out at the end of my school year but I ended getting a job which is taking up one hundred percent of my time! I will most likely only be coming out with stories during the summer though, I'm sorry to say. I can't say I know where to go from here although I do have two ideas but they're not very crowd pleasing. So I'll let you decide what Alec does. And these two decisions WILL change the story dramatically!

Leave, their better off without him here to put them in danger.

Stay and work it out, he can't abandon his family when they need him.
