Chapter 6: heartlandLoVeR987

Peeta's POV:

Somehow Katniss gets out from under Gale and punches him. He falls to the ground dropping the knife. Which Katniss snatches up and then Gale runs towards her. He puts both of his hands around Katniss' throat and that's when she moves the knife to go through Gale's stomach. He falls down and then a cannon goes off.

"Katniss Everdeen is the winner of the 76th hunger games!" Said a voice

I was so scared, and shocked but then the tv went black. Katniss was on her way right now to the train, we were at the Capitol waiting here in the train. I still couldn't believe Katniss would cheat on me. Then she walked through the doors of the train. She ran to her room and I didn't bother chasing her. We made our way back to 12 in about 3 hours. They had also really sped up the trains. There was a doctor on board right now checking out the baby. I prayed that my little son or daughter was doing ok. Then the doctor walked out to me and he spoke, "Your wife wants you to know that your baby is healthy and right on track."

"Thank you." I said relieved

Then the train came to a complete stop and and Katniss walked out the doors. There stood her mother.

She hugged her mom and cried.

"I killed him." She sobbed into her mothers arms. Her mom was rubbing her back.

"It was you or him, you did what you had to do."

They walked back to her moms house while I went to mine and Katniss's house which was bigger than the our houses that we first got in the victors village. 10 minutes later Katniss walked through the front door. I walked over to her and she hugged me; crying.

"Shhh it's ok Katniss the games are over." I said letting go of her

"Wow I've been gone for almost 3 months, almost killed, fighting for my life and that's the first thing you say to me."

Katniss' POV:

"Yeah what else am I supposed to say? I thought that we were in a really good place, until you and Gale made out on the train to the games." Peeta brought up a sore subject that I never wanted to remember

"For the last time he kissed me. I thought you would understand out of all people. You've been in two games, I love you not Gale. I... I.. Killed Gale. I still remember the feeling of the knife going through his stomach. It..." I cried as I still couldn't believe I killed a person, sure I had killed people before but using a bow. This was the first time I stabbed someone. I felt horrible taking away a life, but if I didn't my life and my child's like would have been taken away.

"Yeah I'm so happy you made it out alive. You did what you had to do. I'm going to pack to move back into my old house." Said Peeta

My heart shattered into a million pieces and I broke down crying. I then said in a sharp time of voice, "I thought you loved me no matter what. I'm sorry. I'm fucking sorry. Once I ran to my room on the train, I thought you would care enough to come and help me and take care of me, and just love me." I finished crying

Peeta's POV:

I packed up my stuff and left, I and moved next door back home, to my original house that I got after we won our first games together.

About three weeks had gone by and all Katniss and I did was fight, I was still so mad at her for cheating on me with Gale on the train. She was mad at me because I was mad at her. So we were getting nowhere.

Katniss' POV

I am nine months pregnant. Nine months, 2 weeks, and 6 days to be exact. It's the middle of the night and I'm woken up by my water breaking. Then I got my first contraction. I made my way as fast as I could to Peeta's house.

I banged on the door through my next contraction. It was 10 times worse than the first one.

He finally opened the door. And I said, "Baby's coming." He grabbed and and picked my up bridal style and carried my to the hospital. We made it there and I was 9 and a half centimeters dilated. The nurses came in and asked questions and then waited until I was another half a centimeter dialed. Then the midwife lady asked me, "Would you like to have anyone in the room with you, during birth?"

I thought about it for a second and looked at Peeta who had his please let me be in here look. I wanted him there for the birth of our child but he was mad at me for doing what I needed to do to make it out of the hunger games. I responded to the midwife with, "Yes I would like Peeta in here with me."

She had Peeta put on scrubs and other stuff, I didn't pay much attention as the nurse; Jade was checking to see how many centimeters I was,through a contraction.

"Are you ready to have a baby?" Jade asked me

"As ready and I'll ever be." I replied as Peeta grabbed my hand and whispered in my ear, "I love you, you can do this!" I knew everything was going to be okay, Peeta was helping me through giving birth. Then I started pushing.
