Accidentally in Love, Part 2

Alura, Zor, Kaylar, and Kal were using their powers flying to where Kara had told them to go. Flying didn't come naturally to them, although Kal seemed to have taken to it quite well, so they took their time to reach the place Kara had told them to.

Landing in front of a large home, they saw Kara standing with others – the home stood on a large plot on land, which was impressive to the Kryptonains.

"Kara," Alura said with a smile.

"Hi," Kara said to her birth mother. "You know Barry and his cousin Rae?" The two by her gave a nod – they hadn't officially met, aside from Kal, but had seen them at the eatery. "And these are my parents: Martha and Jonathan Kent." Kara pointed at the older pair with them; the woman had long red hair and thin face, while the man showed musculature with dirty blonde hair that was graying on top. "Ma, pa, these are my biological parents, Alura, and Zor. This is my sister Kayla – sorry Kaylar – and cousin, Kal."

"It is an honor to meet you," Alura said, bowing her head.

"Oh, come here, I'm a hugger!" Martha Kent said, moving forward and bringing Alura into a hug. Alura was shocked for a moment before returning the hug and then Martha moved over to Zor.

"Kara's told us what happened and as far as we're concerned, you are family," Jonathan said, bringing Alura into a hug.

"Come on, come in," Martha said after the hug was over, escorting the group into the house. "Now we have some appetizers here and there's a feast in the oven. Thank you, Rae for all the help."

"It was no problem, Martha," Rae said as she took a seat nearby.

"It's a lovely… home you have here," Kaylar said, it being very different to homes on In'Dak but nice enough even for the Queen of In'Dak herself. "Is this where Kara grew up?"

"Yes," Kara was the one who said it, having been at the back of the group.

"I noticed from the air there are a lot of food products growing on the land," Zor said. "Is it all yours?"

"Yes," Jonathan said. "My family have farmed this land for generations. Lately though Martha and I get more of our money from renting out space for weddings and other events – but we're still a working farm. And one day it will all be Kara's to do with what she wishes." Jonathan smiled at Kara, who returned the smile as she sat on Barry's lap.

Kal had turned his eyes to the TV which had been on the news – the same woman who had reported the Supergirl incidents on the computer that Quark had provided.

"Do you know her?" Kal asked the group, nodding to the TV.

"Lois Lane, co-owner of Grant and Lane Worldwide Media," Kara stated, frowning at Kal now. "Yes, Cat Grant and Lois Lane are much nicer to the heroes of the worlds than, say, Perry White at the Daily Planet, so we bring most of our stories to them," Kara said. "Why?"

"Can you… introduce me?" Kal asked.

"I guess so," Kara said, sharing a look with Rae now and Kal stood up. "Oh now? Um… sure why not, we can go see her and be back before dinner," before she'd even finished her sentence, Kal was out the door before Kara who had to give a laugh as she followed.

"I don't understand what is with Kal and this girl," Zor said.

"Looks like he was hit by the lightning bolt to me," Rae said, jokingly pushing Barry.

"Lightning bolt?" Zor asked.

"More commonly called love at first sight. Like me and Kara," Barry said, with a laugh making the Els look at each other in sudden concern. If Kal really was infatuated with this human woman, that could cause even more trouble, not only with the Alliance but the government itself, with Kal training up to replace his father on the council.

"So, Barry, are you a farmer too?" Alura asked, deciding not to linger on the thoughts of her nephew.

"Oh no, well not yet. Maybe someday Kara and I will move here. I built myself a little tech company," Barry said, and could see the confusion on the name. "Technology…. You know, computers? Kara actually works with me. She deals with the business side of the business while I make inventions. I'm in the middle of selling to Palmer Tech, right now. Rae's boyfriend company. Kara and he are working on a deal."

"You're giving away a company you made?" Kaylar asked, confused by this.

"Yes, but well, no. Selling to Palmer Tech gives my company a chance to thrive within the bigger company, basically. I go from moving on a shoestring budget to proper finance, although I'd have to run things by Ray in future, but it's better than letting the company fold entirely," Barry said and Kaylar gave a nod sort of understanding what Barry meant.

"But that means you're a scientist," Zor said with a smile. "So, am I."

"What about you, Alura?" Martha asked on the reveal of Zor's job.

"I'm a judge," Alura said. "It's the whole reason that brings us here. If I hadn't been on the case of a smuggler who had technology from here with news broadcasts of Supergirl… well, we wouldn't even know what had happened to Kara."

"It's a small world… well, universe," Martha mused.

"I'm sorry?" Alura asked of the phrase.

"Oh, it's an expression. Meaning things are destined to happen. But what about you Kaylar?" Martha asked, looking at the woman. "What is your profession?"

"Oh… I um…. I'm sort of Queen of In'Dak," Kaylar said, making all the humans pause. "It's not so big a deal! Daxam had a monarchy while Krypton was a democracy. When the two civilizations joined as one there, there was still an elected counsel, but the monarchy oversees and has power. I married the Daxam prince, and his parents stepped down when we married, feeling it was more appropriate for us to rule the combined civilization. And I am talking a lot…"

"It's alright, sweetie," Martha said, holding her hand to calm the Queen down.

"Can I ask about when Kara arrived?" Zor asked deciding to change the subject. "How did… well how was she? How did you know her name?" That had been bugging he and Alura for a while. How did they know she was called Kara when she arrived?

"Well, she crashed in our fields right there," Jonathan pointed out of the window. "You should have seen our faces at the shock! Destroyed our truck too, but that didn't matter as there was just a beautiful little girl inside the pod that crashed. Martha took her inside while I hid the ship. We knew some people who owed us a favor and we adopted her thanks to their connections," Jonathan explained. "She was scared. We didn't understand what she was saying at first, but she warmed to us."

"We were saying different names to her. Trying to see if she liked any," Martha continued. "I guess she understood what we were saying. 'Kara' was the first thing she said we understood," Martha explained. "We knew that was her name then. She learned English quickly and soon the other language she was speaking, I guess your planet normal language, had disappeared."

"As she forgot," Alura muttered, sadly.

"When she first got here, she would cry at night. She was calling for you," Martha said to Alura, whose heart panged at that, imagining the life she and Kara could have had if the girl hadn't got into the pod.

"But… you were the one who comforted her," Alura said with a forced sigh. "I was told she was dead. I am very happy she found good people."

"Come here," Martha said as she took out a book and went to sit next to Alura now. "When Kara told us her biological parents showed up, I have been putting this together for you," Martha opened the book and Alura smiled as she saw the pictures of the small girl within.

"Do you still have the ship?" Zor asked Jonathan as Alura looked at the photos.

"Come," Jonathan said, getting up.

"Hold on," Barry said jumping up and following the two, leaving Kaylar and Rae together.

"So, you're the sister my sister never had," Kaylar said taking a seat near her and Rae gave a nervous laugh. "I guess that makes us sisters in a way. So, what do you do?"

"A little of this a little of that. Jack of all trades, master of none, basically," Rae said, causing Kaylar to frown at the expression. "I love to cook. I thought about doing that as a job, but I have also been a security guard, a secretary, personal assistant, a waitress…"

"You're rather young for all those jobs," Kaylar said.

"Lately Ray lets me do what I want and pays my way," Rae said. "Good guy, I got." Rae patted Kaylar. "Hey, your sister, she's happy you all showed up. She's just unsure how to balance this all."

"Me too, I mean, my twin is not much older than my kids," Kaylar said. "It is all very… I don't know the right human word."

"Weird," Rae supplied with a laugh.

-Millma Verse-

Kal had followed Kara to a window, and they entered the room inside. Kara had changed into her Supergirl outfit on the way, and now they stood before Lois Lane who was with a similarly aged blonde woman; the two talking.

"Well, well… Do we have a Superman here?" The blonde said as the two entered. "He's wearing your symbol, Supergirl."

"He is," Kara said with a smile, not having really thought about that.

"It is our family crest," Kal said, simply, his eyes fixated on Lois Lane.

"I did not know that," Kara said, shrugging at this information.

"Why do you wear it then?" Kal asked, suddenly surprised by this and honestly curious. Kara hadn't pointed out that they all wore the symbol, but Kal had seen it many places since arriving on Earth – it seems Kara wearing it and humans were following like some sort of trend.

"It looks like an S and when I was being called Supergirl, so it made sense," Kara said with a shrug.

"Oh," Kal didn't know how to respond to that one.

"So, family?" Lois asked, her eyes had been on Kal since they entered too. "I thought you said you had no idea on your family?"

"I didn't, they showed up," Kara said. "How about I tell Cat everything while you talk to my big cousin here."

"You are technically the big cousin," Kal said, and Kara sighed at this as she moved over to the blonde who seemed to be ready to ask Kara questions and write down the answers.

"Hello, Lois," Kal breathed, unable to believe he was finally in the woman's presence. "I am Kal-El, son of Jor."

"Son of Jor?" Lois asked. "Is that supposed to mean something?"

"Where I am from it does, but I like it that means nothing here," Kal said knowing just saying that on In'Dak to a Kryptonian female – and even some Daxamite females – would have them throwing themselves at him. He'd even had some male attention from the name, everyone wanting to be with the heir to the House of El. Honestly, it had stopped him from being with anyone.

"I know very little about human customs," Kal continued, "but I want to say the minute I saw a video of you I was struck by your beauty and confidence. You are unlike any female I have ever met – and believe me that is a good thing. I don't know if you are wed or promised to anyone or currently being courted, but I wanted to meet you for real and say that."

"Wow," Lois said, unsure what else to say.

"You can – and have – done worst," this was Cat in the background, making Lois turn to her friend. "Jimmy Olsen. William Dey. Do I need to continue listing? Although that John Irons guy wasn't bad."

Lois gave a nervous laugh at this.

"Well, Kal-El, son of Jor-El, I am currently single with no man in sight," Lois said. "And I think I would like to get to know you more."

"Really?" Kal asked with a smile.

"Yes," Lois said. "You… don't have money, do you?"

"Um… Not anymore," Kal said, having used up all the currency papers he and Zor had managed to find.

"Then I will pay. Meet me here tomorrow night at about 7. No flying. You can meet me in the lobby. And wear something without your family crest on it," Lois said.

"I'll dress him," Kara chuckled. "Cat, any other questions?"

"None at all. Lois, you and I are writing this up tonight for tomorrow's edition?" Cat asked.

"Let me look at your notes," Lois said, moving away but giving Kal a smile as Kara went to jump out the window. Kal followed.

"So… tomorrow? Aren't you supposed to be leaving?" Kara asked as they now flew.

"I will be there tomorrow," Kal said, determinedly and Kara gave a nod as they continued to fly.

….

Kal had requested Kara to see more of the world before going back to her parents and Kara had willingly become his tour guide. Kal also wondered if she was avoiding the gathering a little, but he couldn't help himself from having fun with her as they flew, not just over the country called the United States, but to others as well. Kara showed him her favorite places in the world and showed him what she called 'hero work' – using the powers they had thanks to the yellow sun to save people and stop criminals. Kara also helped him home in on how to use his powers.

He found himself having more fun with Kara than he had with anyone else in his life. Kaylar had been a grown adult by the time he was a kid, so the two didn't really connect on a personal level – especially since she had fallen in love and gotten married to Mon and had been Queen for most of Kal's life. His little siblings weren't much better, as they themselves were only maybe 10 years older than Kara was now and were jealous of his status as heir to the House of El. They also loved the attention being so powerful came with and almost treated him as if he was unworthy. Sadly, it had driven a wedge between the siblings.

Kara didn't see any of that, and even learning it she didn't care. She was just fun to be with.

"Bend your knees this time when we land so you don't create a dent in the ground. I don't need a pothole in my farm," Kara said to him as they approached Kent Farm again.

"Got it," Kal said as he followed Kara, letting her land first and then Kal did, bending his knees as she said.

"There we go. We'll make a Superman out of you yet – we just need the red and blue outfit and a cape," Kara said.

"Thanks," Kal said sheepishly, but then saw two legs under some type of vehicle. "Um…. Kara?" Kal pointed and Kara followed her cousin's finger.

Kara chuckled and moved over and picked up the vehicle with ease.

"Hi pa, what you doing?" Kara asked Jonathan Kent, who was lying on the floor.

"Fixing the tractor," Jonathan Kent said, getting up.

"Why?" Kara asked. "We have guests."

"Well, Barry is talking to your other father about his business and his inventions. Zor seems very interested, and I think you have his approval too, on your choice of mates. Your mothers are looking over pictures of you and telling stories. Rae is showing off her powers to your twin. We have a wedding here in a few days and the back needs some clearing up. I thought I would get it done, but this old thing is not working," Jonathan said.

"I'll get that done in a second," Kara said putting the tractor down and kissing Jonathan's cheek, running off before he could speak.

Jonathan shook his head and smiled. "She's very helpful," Kal said.

"She comes and helps here a lot. With her powers it's not too difficult, but she has a life of her own now," Jonathan said. "Mind picking this up yourself? It's easier to work on in the air," Kal shrugged and picked up the tractor and Jonathan started to work on the tractor again while it was high up.

"Do you not hire people to work here?" Kal asked.

"When there is an event here there are temp workers for the event. I thought of hiring a farm hand to help, but then Kara would not be free to come and go as she pleases – secret identity and all," Jonathan said. "Been considering asking Rae if she wants to board here for a bit and work the farm. Couldn't offer her much money, but lately her jobs are more hobby-focused than actually career with that billionaire partner of hers."

"Interesting…" Kal mumbled in thought as Jonathan continued to work.

….

After some talking, Kaylar had asked Rae about her powers and Rae had started showing her what she could do as a speedster.

"The lightning is impressive," Kaylar said; the two were in the fields and Rae was using dummies they set up to show off her powers. "How did you get these powers?"

"I was born with them. My dad got them through an accident. He was the first Flash, but never really showed himself. Did hero work more in the shadows," Rae said.

"And what about Barry? He's your cousin, you said?" Kaylar asked.

"Cousin… brother… what's the difference when your fathers are identical twins? Besides, we were raised together," Rae said. "Barry was in an accident as a kid – nearly died and was in a coma for months. There was nothing normal medicine could do. My dad investigated connecting him to the source of our power the same way he had been but saw it would be very dangerous to recreate the same accident – as in probably kill Barry, and if it didn't, he would lose all his memories. He instead transferred his own connection to Barry without harm. He became a normal human and Barry got his powers."

"That was very honorable of your dad," Kaylar said. "I'd like to meet him."

"You'd have to summon him from the dead. Back when Barry was 17, my parents and his died in a fire. We could have saved them if we were there, but Barry had some money and he asked me if I wanted to run to Maine and get lobster. I know, stupid reason not to be there when family needed you, but we were young and having fun," Rae said.

"Oh. I am sorry," Kaylar said.

"It's fine. Old news, really. Barry was amazing, though as he put off his life to take care of me. That was also when we started to use our powers to save others. Just the two of us until Barry met Kara and I met Ray," Rae said.

"It seems you both met the perfect match," Kaylar mused.

"Ray and Kara are great – well Kara had to be, considering you're her twin," Rae chuckled. "Still weird to think you and she are identical twins when you're old enough now be be… never mind," Rae went red as she stopped herself talking, changing conversation at speed. "Want to try your heat vision?"

"I used that by accident once," Kaylar said, knowing what Rae had meant before but not addressing it either. "I'm not sure if I could aim this heat vision."

"It's easy," the new voice was Kara, coming up to them. "Look, summon your power, focus it on your eyes and then let it go." Kara turned her head and summoned her heat vision, hitting it onto the target, it caught on fire. "And to summon freeze breath take a deep breath in, think of the cold, and then just blow." Kara put out the fire with her own freeze breath.

"How did Kal's meeting go with Lois?" Rae asked.

"Urm, I'll tell you later," Kara said with a smirk. "Kaylar, want to give it a try?" She indicated the training dummies she had just set alight and frozen moments later.

"Right. Okay," Kaylar said, looking at the burnt target and tried hitting it with her heat vision but missed and set a tree on fire. Kara was fast in putting that out.

"Let's not do this near any fruit trees…" Kara realized with a laugh. Rae joining in, finding the comment funny.

"Sorry," Kaylar said.

"It's okay. I once set the barn on fire as a kid," Kara said. "And I hear ma saying dinner is ready."

"Meet you there," Rae said running off.

"She is very fast," Kaylar said, watching Rae's speed trail fade.

"Sort of her and Barry's thing," Kara said. "It has it uses."

"It seems very good to help people," Kaylar mused.

"Oh yeah, but I meant in other ways," Kara said, and Kaylar tilted her head. "You know, other ways… they have more stamina and can vibrate..." Kaylar blinked, still not getting it. "Oh gees, Barry is good in the bedroom."

"Bedroom…? Oh!" Kaylar said. "You mean… I understand. Yes… um…" Kaylar went red at this.

"You're not that comfortable with girl talk," Kara mused.

"Well, I'm sort of a Queen, and even before than our family could have been consider nobility so…." Kaylar said.

"Got it, prim and proper. Sorry, let's go get dinner," Kara said, and Kaylar was a bit relieved as they walked to the house, being the last one to arrive. The table was set, and Rae was helping put a lot of food on the table, the Kryptonians curious about the human meal that Martha had cooked.

The group started chatting with each other while they ate – nothing too important until Alura spoke up.

"Martha was showing me pictures of you," Alura said to Kara. "She gave me an album."

"That's nice," Kara said.

"Alura was telling me about your family on… was it In'Dak?" Martha asked.

"Yes," Alura said.

"You have an Aunt and Uncle, Kal's parents along with his younger siblings. And another Aunt. You're mothers twin sister who works off world. Kaylar is married and has three kids," Martha said. "And grandparents in what I assume is retirement home…"

"Seg-El and Nyssa Seg-El," Zor nodded at that.

"Okay," Kara stated, wondering where her mom was going with this.

"Well, I was thinking they could all come to the wedding," Martha stated.

"We wouldn't want to overstep," Zor said at this.

"You're welcome to come as guests," Kara said, not bothered either way.

"Then we would love to come," Zor said. "Kaylar is Matriarch of the House of El. I know you will have a human wedding but maybe she could perform the blessing to Rao over the marriage."

"Rao?" Kara asked.

"Our sun god," Kal supplied.

Barry and Kara looked at each other at this. "I think I can say for both of us, a religious aspect for a religion neither of us are a part of is not something we want," Barry said for Kara.

"Understood," Alura said, a little disappointed but not showing it. "But maybe you would consider a welcoming for Barry into the House of El, our family?"

Kara and Barry paused for a moment. "That is something we would consider," Kara said; over the past few hours, she was starting to get how important being part of the House of El apparently was.

After that, dinner and dessert seemed to go by quick with nothing else big to talk about.

The sun was setting as the group was outside.

"We need to get back to In'Dak and then send a report to the Alliance," Kaylar said. "Now you are not a primitive world, you might get more friendly alien visitors."

"We'll let Argus know," Rae said. The group hugged each other good bye.

"Before we go Kara," Alura said and took her necklace off. "I want you to have this."

"I can't," Kara said.

"You can. You're my daughter and I never gave you much. Consider this a sign of my love for you," Alura said, putting it around Kara's neck and Kara didn't fight it – she hugged Alura again after.

"And this," Zor said, taking out a crystal. "It is Kryptonian technology. Find a place and bury it. It will make you a very special building – a palace of sorts. Inside will be information and technology, including a teleport device that will bring you to In'Dak. You are allowed to visit now, if you should wish."

"Nano technology, maybe?" Kara breathed, stunned as she took it.

"I'll show her how it works," Kal said.

"Good idea, you can take the teleport back. Be home before us," Zor said.

"No," Kal said quickly. "I'm not going back." The three Els moaned at this; all having wondered if this was coming. "I'm staying here on Earth. If Jonathan and Martha allow it, I will stay here and help on the farm. I know nothing about farm work, but I am willing to learn. And I can see Lois more. She... she is special."

"Kal you're…" Zor started, but Alura stopped him.

"Is this what you really want, Kal?" Alura asked. Alura had been thinking this over in the back of her head since Barry and Rae made comments about Kal being in love with this Lois. She had been preparing on what would happen if Kal wanted to stay.

"Yes," Kal said.

"And will the people of Earth accept him?" Alura asked, turning to the humans and Kara.

"He's welcome to stay," Jonathan said.

"And we could use a Superman," Kara said smiling at Kal. "Cat Grant's already called him that."

"Then we have no choice," Alura said having come to that conclusion a while ago. "Earth might not be primitive anymore, but it's not Alliance either. We can't force him off if Earth doesn't want to make him leave. Which you knew. It's why you came," Alura understood that now – Kal hadn't just come to help them learn English, it had been an escape plan.

"Kal, you understand staying here and forming a life here will forfeit your In'Dak citizenship?" Kaylar pointed out.

"I know, but I have never been happy on In'Dak," Kal said. "I feel… like I belong here."

"Then be happy my nephew," Alura said, and hugged Kal. Zor hesitated but hugged Kal as well and then Kaylar.

-Millma Verse-

Alura, Zor, and Kaylar walked out of their ship, back on In'Dak.

"Where is Kal?" Jor asked, having come to greet them to see how it went.

"Earth," Zor said. "He wanted to stay."

"For how long?" Jor asked.

"Forever," Zor told his brother. "He has forfeited his In'Dak citizenship."

"Congratulation, Gal," Alura said to the young man who was standing beside his father. "You will be head of the House of El now," Alura could see the smirk on the man's face, having always wanted this and decided not to say more to her nephew.

"Kara is happy and healthy," Kaylar said, following her mother as Jor stayed back with his son, taking in the fact that Kal had left them. "And we will see her again, hopefully form more of a bond."

"Yes, we will Kaylar," Alura said, and Kaylar gave a nod before going to find her husband "Maybe everything worked out how it was meant to..."

"Martha and Jonathan seem like nice people. I think Kara was destined to help them," Zoe agreed, knowing that things happened for a reason. It was a small universe, after all.

Post Chapter Note: And there you have it. An intriguing new world. Yes, Kal had to stay on Earth – and with the Kents too. It's a Millma verse rule you should know that he finds his way to Earth and to Lois and the Kents.
