Ch 12
I took Flash's car just as he was leaving and after some really terrible driving, I finally made it to Vulture's base.
I saw a computer with Avengers Tower on it and I saw a blueprint of a Stark cargo plane which was when I realized Vulture was gonna rob the Tower because it was moving day.
I went deeper into the dark building and I saw the man himself, firing a web that tied Adrian's hand to the desk.
"How could you do this to her?"
"I'm doing this for her. You don't understand how the world works."
"Yeah, but I understand that selling weapons to criminals is wrong."
"How do you think your buddy Stark made that tower? These people up there, the rich and the powerful, they don't care about guys like us. We have to pick up after them, even eat their table scraps."
"Why are you telling me this?"
Something told me he was stalling for something.
"I need you to understand and I need a little more time to get her airborne."
Then the howling sound of Vulture's wing suit rang out and I flipped over it before it could ram me and I kept dodging as it tried to ram me.
"I'm sorry, Petra."
"What are you talking about? That thing didn't even touch me yet."
"True, but then again, wasn't really trying to."
Then the wing suit flew through all the support columns, shattering them all and the roof falling down was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.
After a long time, I woke up and I was still pinned down.
I tried and tried with all my might but the thing just wouldn't move.
"Hey! I'm down here, I can't move! I'm trapped down here! I can't get out!"
Nobody answered.
Of course there was no one.
What was I thinking?
I was down here alone and trapped.
All because I never listened to Iron Woman.
And no one would be coming.
Vulture was going to rob that plane and I couldn't do anything about it.
This whole thing was helpless.
I was stuck here.
Forever.
Suddenly, Iron Woman's words came back to me.
"If you're nothing without that suit then you shouldn't have it."
Now I knew what that meant.
I wasn't Spider-Girl because of the new suit.
I was Spider-Girl because I chose to be Spider-Girl.
And no one was going to take that away from me.
"Come on, Spider-Girl." I said to myself. "Come on Spider-Girl. Come on SPIDER-GIRL!"
I screamed as the pieces of debris fell on me but I kept trying until eventually I pushed all of them off me and swung off.
Alright, Vulture.
Spider-Girl is coming for you.
