Spencer's POV

"You're late." I roll my eyes as Mia opens the door to her house.

"I had to watch Matt until my mom got home." I try to walk into the house but Mia blocks the door. "Sorry. Now move."

Mia frowns. "Gosh you are rude."

"Are you going to let me in or not?" I had to work early this morning and then my mom dumped me with my little brother for three hours while she went shopping with friends. I didn't get to take a nap because Matt was bouncing off the walls.

I tried to call Ashley but she didn't answer her phone. We made up a few weeks ago. We both apologize for going back and forth with the ignoring each other. We both agreed we were being petty and childish. We have been keeping our conversations light. I've been working a lot and Ashley has been talking about looking at Colleges. I don't know what schools she's thinking about going to because she avoids the questions and I let her because I don't want to get into another argument and risk not talk to her for days.

"I love you so I'm going to ignore the attitude." Mia steps to the side and I walk pass. "Plus you're going to be a screaming, crying little bitch in a minute."

I raise an eyebrow at her words and start to walk towards the living room. "What are yo…" My voice trails off and my heart starts to pound when I turn my face towards the living room.

Standing in the middle of the living room with the hugest grin on her face is Ashley. "Wha…how…" I can't get the words out. "Fuck."

"Hi Spencer." Ashley whispers and takes a step closer.

"Is this real?"

"Real cheesy." Aiden comes out of the kitchen with Jessica following behind him.

"Shut up!" Jessica pushes him. "Stop standing there Spencer. You've been pinning over this gi…" I tune out Jessica as I throw myself into Ashley arms.

Ashley's POV

Spencer and I have been held up in Mia's bedroom for an hour. We have just been sitting on the bed, holding each other and staring. We haven't even kissed.

It's funny because when I fantasized about this moment I always thought we would not be able to keep our hands off each other. And we haven't. We've been holding hands or touching in some type of, I just thought we would be making out and having sex. But this is even better. My heart fills so full right now. Just being in the same room with her is driving me nuts. I can't believe this is real.

"How are you…" Spencer shakes her head, raising her hand to push some hair from my face. "How? Why are you here?"

I roll my eyes playfully. "Are you not happy to see me?"

"Only if you're real."

"I love you." I grab her hand that's still on my face. Spencer's face breaks out into a smile. "Stop crying…gosh when did you get so soft?"

"Whatever." She wipes the tears from her face before looking at me again.

"What?" I ask when Spencer just stares at me. Before I know it, I feel a light pressure on my lips. it's gone before I can push back.

"I love you too."

"So you guys are going to be roommates?" Spencer stares at Jessica and me.

Spencer and I spent a few hours alone together before leaving Mia's house to go have dinner at a diner with the gang. I've been telling everyone about my plans to go to the University and how my mom and I are staying in a hotel for a few weeks until my dorm room situation gets taking care of. When we go on the tour next week, I'm going to see if I can move in early.

While I was away I kept up my friendship with Jessica and Mia. Even when Spencer and I weren't talking they still talked to me and kept me up on things that were going on in their lives. Spencer and Mia had always said that they didn't want to go to college. Mia has had the same job at a retail store for years. She's a supervisor there now and she has gotten Spencer a job there now. Aiden has already started summer classes at the community college. Jessica is the only one that actually wanted to pursue school further and go to a university.

One night we were on the phone and I was telling Jessica about how I applied and got into the school just outside of their city. She started screaming and yelling about how excited she was because she was going to that school too. Jessica is actually the one to suggest us living together.

"Yup!" Jessica grins.

"And you didn't tell me?" Spencer directs the question towards Jessica.

"Of course not."

"Why not?" Spencer frowns.

"It's called a surprise, hunny."Jessica answers in a duh type of voice.

Spencer rolls her eyes and grabs my hand. "You want some dessert?"

"No." I squeeze her hand. "I'm fine thank you."

"I'm glad you're back, Ashley." Aiden's smiles at me before stuffing some mash potatoes into his mouth.

I laugh at the look of disgust on Spencer's face before telling Aiden that I'm happy to be back. More than he knows.

Everyone finishes eating and we all go outside. After hugging everyone goodbye Spencer and I get into her moms car. I give Spencer directions to my hotel.

"I'm so glad your back." Spencer says as we stand outside of the room I'm sharing with my mom. "I thought you were going to leave me for that Andy kid."

I laugh and step into her arms. "Never."
