The weeks following the incident were stressful and unpredictable. As Tobias had stated he would, he went on live radio and told the country the entire truth. The truth about the Fuhrer's death and what he knew of his parents' death. He never did find out what truly happened. All that surrounded that was still a mystery. The whole story, with interruptions from the radio DJ, took almost five hours to complete. The country was shocked and some even outraged upon hearing the truth, many took sides.

Without a leader, the country was vulnerable and uneasy. Much of the population wanted Tobias to be the new Fuhrer, but he rejected the idea. He believed it was not his time to be leading a country and was not the one to be able to pull the country in the direction it needed to go. He also was found to have stated that becoming Fuhrer was his father's dream, not his, and that he was not his father. Eventually, the country held elections and a new leader was put into power.

The funeral of Brigadier General Riza Hawkeye was a noble and solemn event. Many of her students attended the service, including Tobias, Rachel, and the rest of his team. Riza received the proper military send-off with gunfire and a moment of silence. Many of the attendees had already left the burial ground when the cemetery workers started to lower the casket into the ground. The sun had already begun to set.

Only two remained.

"I figured she would have wanted to been buried beside my parents," Tobias told Rachel, who stood quietly next to him.

"I don't think she would have had it any other way," she replied reaching for his hand.

Tobias smiled. "Heh, yeah I guess so." He sighed. They continued to watch as the dirt was shoveled onto the casket. "It's hard to believe she is really gone. It was so sudden." His voice trailed off quietly and sadly.

Rachel hugged his arm reassuringly. "She's in a much better place, I'm sure of it," she said with a small, encouraging smile.

"I don't disagree with that at all," Tobias replied placing a small kiss on her head. "Come on, we should get going. Remember, the guys and I are taking you out for dinner to celebrate your last day of work."

"Don't worry," she replied walking beside him, "I certainly haven't forgotten. Max and Victor keep reminding me about it," she said with a laugh. "I'm not sure what they're really excited for though."

"Oh yeah? How do you mean?" Tobias inquired.

"I'm not sure if they're happy I'm leaving or they're just happy for us," she said smiling and wriggling her hand that now held a ring on her finger.

"Maybe both," he suggested playfully.

Rachel shrugged. "Who knows?"

They left the cemetery and went to their homes. After changing out of their funeral clothing and into something more casual, Tobias picked Rachel up and they both went to the café in the Plaza. They found Victor already sitting down in a booth; he waved at them to join him. Eventually Max and Lucas arrived when the "party" officially started. They informed Rachel she could buy anything she wanted on the menu (as long as it was within their price range) and get whatever dessert she wanted. The party lasted well into the night. The memory of the evening would be talked about for years to come.

Several months after the funeral, Tobias and Rachel finally married at the end of the summer. They decided not to have a large wedding, since neither of their family members held numerous amounts of people. Of either of their family, Rachel's father attended and so did Tobias's grandmother, Madame Christmas. Then Max, Lucas, and Victor each had their family come. Victor was accompanied by his wife and baby daughter. Max brought his two younger brothers and his parents. Lucas insisted he would bring the girl he had been seeing and eventually convinced her to come with him. Twelve people in all attended Tobias and Rachel's wedding.

Three others were acknowledged and accounted for, but they did not attend.

Let it be known that not even a year into their marriage, the Mustang's were surprised to find another person would be added to their family. Rachel would eventually give birth in the spring to a healthy baby girl they would name Emma Natasha Mustang. During Rachel's pregnancy, Tobias went to the courts and with much deliberation, the Mustang family name was cleared of every false charge, all before Emma was born.

Throughout the course of their nearly sixty years of marriage, Tobias and Rachel had four children, one girl and three boys, who each got married and had children of their own. Tobias never taught any of his children nor his grandchildren flame alchemy. He decided that the art of flame alchemy should die with him, even though it was never suppose to have been given to him in the first place. Jonathan Roy Mustang, their eldest son, insisted that Tobias teach him flame alchemy, but after he had seen his father go through war and saw the use of flame alchemy as a weapon, Jonathan never asked again. The other two boys who were twins, Sebastian and Stephen, were taught by their older siblings never to question their father about flame alchemy.

This does not mean that Tobias and Rachel discouraged their children from learning alchemy itself. Tobias only refused to teach them flame alchemy. After Rachel's death and months before his own, Tobias burned everything he had on the subject, including his father's notes and alchemic gloves.

Tobias Mustang died peacefully at the age of ninety three.

That concludes this story. Thank you to everyone who helped me write it and to all of you readers! I would have never gotten this story finished had I not had anyone to read it. I hope this was a happy ending. Tell me what you think of the conclusion. Were you happy with it? Need more?

There's still some ideas floating around in my head about writing a sequel and a prequel. (I just have to figure out how to start them haha)

And you may have noticed that I never gave Fuhrer Kalmin a physical description. I decided to leave his looks up to each reader. Because I knew it was Kimblee from the start, I saw him as Kimblee and not some random soldier that his soul found its way into (which is weird in and of itself). Hope you enjoyed that plot twist anyway. :)

Again, thanks for reading! (there will defiantly be more to come!) In the meantime, go ahead and check out some of the other stories I have written!
