While the heroes had spread out to confront the Venomous and Mahamayuri, the rest of them had remained behind to fight the Effigies summoned by Puppet Master. But Melek Taus and Pink Prominent had caught on to Puppet Master and were tracking him down. The weathergirl turned Miraculous wielder walked out in front, focusing her powers to get a lock. "He's close." She said to Melek Taus.
"I can feel him too." The Peacock wielder said too. Ringdealer, his Sentimentel was not so far behind. "But I don't know where he is and how close."
"Close enough for us to worry." Pink Prominent said. She tried to concentrate as hard as she could. Then her head snapped upwards and her eyes widened. "Move!" They two barely dove aside as a huge scythe cross shot towards them. Melek Taus and Pink Prominent avoided it, but Ringdealer wasn't so lucky as the Sentimentel was sliced in half and exploded.
"No! Ringdealer…Damn, our friends are going to be fighting the Venomous without the rings." Melek Taus said worried.
"They'll be fine, but we may not be…" Pink Prominent looked in the distance as they saw the Grim Reaper/Marionette Akuma/Sentimonster Puppet Master. It caught his weapon upon return. "So that's what she did to the butterfly and feather she stole."
"Let's try snapping him out of existence!" Melek Taus said. He and his butterfly-themed girlfriend snapped their hands and tried to erase it. However, it didn't affect him at all. Puppet Master just made a weird movement that may have been a soundless chuckle. "It's no use, she altered him too much for us to directly affect him."
"We'll have to do it the hard way then. No worries, we have trained for this." Pink Prominent said as she aimed her Umbrella/Cane at it. Puppet Master just looked at her and snapped his fingers. Nothing happened. "What is he doing?"
"I don't think whatever he did is aimed at us." Melek Taus said. "Our friends may be in trouble."
"Then we take him down, once we do everything in his power should also fade away as well." Pink Prominent said. Puppet Master raised his scythe/wooden cross again and charged it up with energy and threw it. It rolled across the ground leaving a purple/Blue trail of energy. The heroes jump aside, avoiding the weapon…but the trail it left exploded and the shockwave knocked them both back and onto the floor. "This may be harder then I thought." Pink said as she got up again.
At the battlefield, the remaining heroes fought off the Effigies alongside the Agency troops and the Butterfly Brigade. They were still holding strong as all of a sudden the Effigies started to simultaneously flinch and tremble. Suddenly they all turn into dark energy and start to flock together. "What the hell is going on now?" Greg/Strongarm wondered.
"I have no idea, but it cannot be good." Emilie/Nevermore said.
The remaining Effigies combined into a duo of black clouds of smoke which formed into new Effigies. However, it was shocking to see what they transformed into. The first was red and black and demonic looking, with vague dragon themes. However, to several of them the form looked very familiar. "Latombe!" Tom/Papa Wolf, Sabine/Mama Bear and Allegra/Mechitsune said in shock.
"It's Wyvern…I thought my old friends would remember my moniker with the Dragon Miraculous." He said, as he stroked the choker around his neck.
"Gabriel…" Nathalie/Agent Peacock growled.
"You should be dead." Nevermore said as she remembered on how the empty shell of Hawkmoth should be used as a host by a Venomous.
"Not in every timeline, my sweethearts." Gabriel said. He looked Like Hawkmoth but his white hair was now visible and…basically looked like someone threw up a mosaic over him and the various Miraculous and weapons scattered along his body. "And I go by Monarch, now!"
"They're just Effigies, though more vocal ones." Soldierbug/Marianne said.
"We may be Effigies, but we are not cheap copies. We are on par with the originals." Wyvern explained.
"And I don't mean our native versions, we are Effigies of another Latombe and another Gabriel Agreste whom have succeeded in their world. I got the Miraculous Box, and he got his Dragon Miraculous back."
"Feeling worried?" they both asked.
"Not really. That world is not ours. In this world…the heroes overcome all the challenges." Papa Wolf said.
"But you're not the heroes, not real wielders. You are just the back up and old has-beens." Wyvern said.
"We may be old, but we can still get the job done!" Mama Bear assured them.
"Then show us your strength!" Monarch said as they charged at the heroes.
Puppet Master spun his scythe/cross…let's call it his death pinwheel now, around in front of him as both a shield and as saw weapon, with Pink Prominent and Melek Taus both trying to strike with their cane umbrella and fan, but he deflects them. When they decided to attack at the same time, he deflect the fan with the pinwheel and grabbed the cane with the skeletal puppet hand. He then pushed off Melek Taus and threw the pinwheel. Pink Prominent thoughts quickly as she unsheathed the blade from her umbrella handle the threw the blade to throw the pinwheel off course, saving Melek Taus. But the rest of the umbrella was still held by Puppet Master whom used it to whack her in the face. The pinwheel came back and nearly cleaved the two of them in half. He caught the pinwheel back in his hand. Though Pink Prominent held out her hand and summoned her umbrella back, putting the blade back in the sheath. Though Puppet Master wasn't worried.
It summoned a bunch of white doll faces that floated in the air surrounded by ghostly flames. "That is creepy!" Melek Taus noted. Then the flaming doll heads shot towards them. "And that's bad!" The two zipped across the battlefield to avoid the flaming projectiles whom blew up as they hit the ground around them. It was like stepping through a warzone. As they dodged the attacks, they were snatched by something. They found themselves bound in ropes of light coming from the Puppet Master's hands, and now he was using these light ropes to throw the both of them around, against the, floor, against rocks and against each other before dropping them on the ground
"This is going to be harder then I thought…" pink Prominent said, as Puppet Master's deadly pinwheel started spinning again and it headed towards them.
Wyvern and Monarch were tearing through the Agents and the Butterfly Brigade. Wyvern created a tornado made of wind, water and electricity which swept them away, while Monarch had the various Miraculous copies' powers, trapping some of them with Shelter, others paralyzed with Venom, caught in a daze with Gift and more.
Mama Bear jumped in, claws out and grabbing at him, but he turned into water, as the swipe going through him. He raised his hand and zapped her with a lightning bolt, throwing her back. Mechitsune opened fire with her nine tail-like canons but he turned into a burst of wind, flying through the projectiles and slamming into her to blow her off her feet. Papa Wolf jumped at him as he became solid again but a burst of water knocked him out of the sky. Soldierbug opened fire, but he turned into water again and they went through him. "Is that all you got? Getting old?" he then soaked the ground in water that came from his being and electrified the battlefield, zapping the four heroes. "Pathetic. You have grown soft. Complacent."
"We aren't done yet…" Mama Bear said as she tried to get up. But the shock through her system still hurt."
"I think you are. Your children may have beaten my counterpart, as they have grown strong. But you never got the full power and the experience during your time as heroes like they had. You were never meant to be the heroes they are. What use do you still serve?" Wyvern mocked.
"They are better then us because parents are supposed to raise children to be better people then they are. And they succeeded at that." Papa Wolf said. "We put trust in them, because they trusted us as parents to guide them."
"I never had children, but I also still care for any of those kids as if they were my own!" Soldierbug said. "And I like to think I passed a lot of wisdom onto them."
"So what if I wasn't as good a hero as they were?" Mechitsune said. "I don't have to be, I just have to better then you."
Wyvern laughed. "All touching, but that won't prevent you from dying and see how motivated those kids of you are after I take away their parents and mentors from them!" Wyvern said, his eyes sparking with electricity.
"Bombarda!" Nevermore threw a powerful magic spell at Monarch, but he threw up a Shelter for protection. When the smoke cleared, Nevermore was hit by a chicken plushy and suddenly dropped from the air, onto the ground, her flight not longer working. She tried to cast spells, but only produced confetti. "Oh no…" She then felt a cane hit her face as she was knocked back.
"You leave her alone!" Strongarm said as he rushed in with his mechanical arm to cave Monarch's face in. However, Monarch's own fist glowed and it collided with his, and whatever Miraculous power he used, it overpowered and knocked Strongarm back.
Mammoth Express rushed in charging forward like a locomotive…which he kind of was, but a Voyage Portal opened up in front of him. And then another portal opened, horizontally, across the ground, where the robotic elephant train crashed into. "I never liked that toy. So juvenile."
"Then play with this!" Agent Peacock rushed in, lashing with her bladed weapons, but he seemingly dodged all of them, easily. It was like he could read her moves…and it had to do with the Snake Miraculous, that he seemed to fumble with all through it all. And while dodging most attacks, he countered with a single punch to the chest that knocked her back.
"It's a shame. In my world, you are either beyond reach, turned on me, or you don't exist. I wasn't as easily disposed off as my counterpart, I have been tormenting Paris for far longer, I'm far stronger and I have fifteen additional Miraculous boosting me. You are nothing to me."
"You don't have the ladybug or Black Cat on you. So it means that you still haven't defeated the heroes in the end." Nevermore stated. "Knowing that my Gabriel wasn't as smart as he believed himself to be, you probably needed help to get those Miraculous too, right? All that effort and you still won't get what you want!"
"That can soon change. I may be an Effigy, but with the real Miraculous I can become real myself and then I claim this world for my own to recreate." Monarch said.
"Even if you take us down now, you won't succeed. The other heroes will come after you and they are a lot more powerful then the ones from your world. Whatever version of you…you are always destined to lose." Agent Peacock said.
"So what if I don't exist in that world? I do exist here. And I am here, fighting. For what I care for. You don't care for anything but yourself, in every universe you'll always be a selfish twatwaffle!" Strongarm said.
Mammoth Express just blew his chimney, a puff of cloud appearing in the air, taking the shape of hand giving Monarch the bird.
"I will destroy you…I will destroy the heroes and I will destroy this world, I will destroy the multiverse if I have to get what I want. Nothing will stop me!" Monarch said as he unsheathed the blade form his cane.
"And that's why you fail. You always want what you don't have. You destroy everything you already had. Your family, your business, your life. All of that you destroyed for something you would never have." Nevermore said. "You had me at one point…But you really didn't 'have' me."
Monarch chuckled as he walked slowly towards her and kneeled down near her. "I will have you, or a version of you, when I'm done." He said as he tried to caress her cheek, but she tried to slap him. He caught her wrist though. "Oh, nearly got me. But you have no power at the moooooooooo…" he then was kicked in the balls. Then Nevermore tackled him down, but he threw her off. "Stupid bitch! What did you think to achieve? That blow stung, but you cannot do anything to hurt me in a meaningful way."
"You know, you shouldn't have get too close." Emilie said as she held up a few Miraculouses Monarch looked down at himself and saw several were missing on his person. "You always think in power or positions of power. You think like our native Gabriel. I knew that when I spoke up, I'd get your attention, and you'd underestimate me because you used Uproar. And I don't know if my native version of your world could do that too but…I know a bit of sleight of hand." She then threw the Miraculous towards the others. She herself kept the Rabbit, Greg took the Snake. Nathalie took the Horse. Tom took the Dog. Sabine had the Rat. Allegra had the Fox and Marianne the Turtle.
"No!" Monarch said.
"You moron! You couldn't keep coming on to your ex, could you?" Wyvern said.
"Oh, shut up lizard-lips!" Monarch said.
"We will even the odds now!" Emilie said. "Nevermore was not enough, but Lapina will be! Fluff, Clockwise!" she transformed, but if Nevermore had Raven inspiration, then Lapina was Zatanna, with a domino mask, bunny ears and tail and in the colors of the Rabbit Miraculous. "Your time's up!"
"Sass, Scales Slither!" Greg's Strongarm form shifted to have the colors of the snake, a snake hood and his arm now was a literal mechanical snake. "Snake-Arm at your service!"
"Kaalki, Full Gallop!" Nathalie's Agent Peacock form took on different colors, her hair turned white and she had horseshoe motives over her. "Agent Flying Horse is here!"
"Mullo, Get Squeaky!" Mama Bear combined with the Rat, her coloring becoming more monochrome as the rat motif blended with the bear. "Mamachrome, rolling out!"
"Barrk, on the Hunt!" Papa Wolf now looked like a dog/Wolf hybrid with the new collar, a pair of pants now with the colors of the Dog. "And a fine hunt it'll be for Papa Wolfhound!"
"Wayzz, Shell on!" Soldierbug shifted into camouflage colors, greens and browns, the shield on her back and the turtle pattern on her helmeted face. "War Turtle on board!"
"Trixx, Let's Pounce!" Mechitsune's colors shifted to the orange that the fox had, and her tank threads were replaced with mechanical fox legs. The tip of her cannon tails were now burning with foxfire. "Queen Mechitsune is here!"
"I can still handle any of you!" Latombe said as he rushed in. Monarch followed closely.
Puppet Master still gave Melek Taus and Pink Prominent problems. "We need a change of strategy and fast!" Melek Taus said. "How is it in the end of the others?"
"My Brigade is crippled, but they still send me a feed. The others manage to turn things around but it will be meaningless if Puppet Master can revive them again. We need to gather power." Pink Prominent said.
Melek Taus looked around and saw the remains of the destroyed Ringdealer on the Battlefield. He hadn't renounced the Compos Mentis, so the remains still lay there. He could summon a new Sentimonster but he had an idea. "I have a stupid idea but I don't know if it'll work because it hadn't been done before."
"Because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it cannot work. I have an idea too. The only limits on the Miraculous is the limit of what we consider a limit for their domain. We hold domain over Emotions, so let our emotions guide us!" Pink Prominent said. She took a huge breath. "Butterfly Brigadiers, to me!" she said. Form the battlefield nearby, the Butterfly soldiers turned into sparks of purple/pink energy and flew away towards her.
"Ringdealer, to me!" Melek Taus said as the remains of his Sentimental moved towards him.
The Butterflies' energy entered Pink Prominent as her outfit glowed and turned into a mix of white and pinkish purple. Butterfly wings made of energy sported from behind her back. "Pink Prominent, powered up!"
The rings from Ringdealer's body formed an armor around Melek Taus. Huge rings became armbands and legbands, segmented armor. Two larger rings which formed an x-shaped armor around his upper body, and large ring became a helmet for him. Smaller rings chain up into a large staff, to which he connected his fan to become a halberd. All the sigils of the ring glowed with the Peacock symbol. "Melek Taus, powered up!"
Puppet Master wasn't impressed. He fired more flaming doll heads. However, Pink Prominent's winged flared up and blew a gust of wind that blew them away, extinguishing their flames and rendering them useless doll heads. He threw his weapon at her, but Melek Taus deflected it with his halberd. The huge doll eyes of Puppet Master opened wide as he realized it was a lot different now.
Wyvern turned into liquid and tried to wash the heroes away. War Turtle grabbed her shield, spun it around rapidly and threw it inside Wyvern. Wyvern laughed. "I am made of water, what do you think to achieve!" The shield was still inside him, spinning rapidly. And was spinning faster and faster, until it started to disperse his watery form. Wyvern quickly pulled himself back together but he was dizzy and frazzled. As he became solid again, he soon found himself swarmed with an army of Mamachromes whom started to pummel him all over his body, bruising skin and breaking bones. He threw them off by turning into a burst of wind and raising to the skies. "You aren't getting one over me!"
"Mirage!" Queen Mechitsune said, creating an illusion that created countless duplicates of her and the others.
Wyvern grew angry and started blasting lightning at each of the duplicates, but it seems he never was able to hit the real one. He grew more frustrated, shooting water, wind and lightning galore. He blasted hundreds of them until he grew tired. He may be an adult but that doesn't mean he can't overuse his Miraculous magic. He then found there were no duplicates left. "Where are they?" he didn't find a trace of the originals as he flew down, turned solid again and looked around. "I can't have destroyed them, there would be more remains left."
"Psyche!" Papa Wolfhound, he and the others having turned invisible thanks to Queen Mechitsune's magic and was punched in the face, really hard, sent flying.
"Shellter!" he was caught in a green forcefield.
"Let me out!" Wyvern said. He turned to water, he turns to lightning and he turns to wind, but he was trapped inside of it.
"Gimme that." Papa Wolfhound said. "Earthquake!" he started to shake the shelter like a snowgoble. Which he found hilarious, but Wyvern not so much.
"I'm going to be sick!" Wyvern said as he was thrown around on the inside. Suddenly it stopped and he was dazed again, and solid. He then felt a flash of light. He blinked, and saw he was back to the form of Latombe. He felt around his neck, but there was no choker. He saw the ball weapon of the dog and the Dragon Miraculous in the hands of Papa Wolfhound. He had smuggled his ball inside of the Shelter so they could snatch his Miraculous. "I am going to be so dead!" The Latombe effigy whimpered.
"Run!" War Turtle said as she dropped the Shelter. The Latombe fell to the ground, scrambled upwards and ran for the hills. "Whom wants to do the honors?" War Turtle asks as she held out her gun.
"Allow me!" Queen Mechitsune said. She owed him for crippling her and taking the man she loved away. She fired a bullet and Latombe stopped in his tracks and fell down.
"Venom!" Monarch growled as he tried to hit Snake-Arm, whom just easily dodged him. It was like he knew all his moves. "No fair!"
"It was fair when you used it. Kind of weird that the Snake from your world is different, but I'm not going to question it." Snake Arm said. "Change arms!" he said as the robotic snake arm he had shot forward, absorbed the Venom and fell down. He then replaced his arm with a different robot snake arm, this time it looked like a cobra. "Showing real venom here!" the robot snake spat something in Monarch's eyes, whom screamed out in pain.
"For my next trick, I'll make a bastard disappear." Lapina said as she opened a portal through which Monarch stumbled. Then another portal opened courtesy of Agent Flying Horse. And now there were a series of portals opening through which he was thrown and flung like a pinball, stuck in a never-ending fall.
"Makes you wonder why in his world there are two Miraculous that make portals. Feels redundant, don't you think?" Agent Flying Horse wondered.
"Who cares, I'm having fun!" Lapina said.
"Let…me…out!" Monarch said, with each time he popped out of a portal before falling into the next one, he muttered a word.
"Ok!" Both Lapina and Agent Flying Horse said as they dispersed the portal and Monarch fell from the sky. Before he hit the ground, he was run over by a giant-sized Mammoth Express, which made sure he was a crap-ton of pain.
"Oh, my head…" Monarch said.
"You forgot to get rid of something." Snake-Arm said as he grabbed Monarch's arm, and twisted it so the still active Venom was redirected towards him…with the stinger up his nose. He was not a sitting duck.
"Snake-Arm shift! To Rocket-Arm!" now Snake-Arm's arm became a black mamba. He fired its head like a rocket fist.
"Time-out!" Lapina summoned the projection of a clock. The numbers and clock hands detached, became engulfed into magical energy and shot towards Monarch. Agent Flying Horse threw her horseshoe and blade weapons while Mammoth Express shot steam at Monarch.
He was bombarded by all of the attacks and he went up in an explosion of energy, and without a chance to activate any other Miraculous to defend himself.
Puppet Master was now struggling against the empowered Pink Prominent and Melek Taus. With their new boost they shot rapidly around the battlefield, and he was barely keeping up to fend off his attacks, sweating as they lashed rapidly at him. He tried firing flaming doll heads but they were too fast. He was knocked around by a charging Pink Prominent and knocked into a wall. Then Melek Taus rushed in, feet forward and buried him deeper inside the wall. He barely jumped aside to avoid when he returned for an encore.
Puppet Master threw the pinwheel again and it missed Pink Prominent. However, it started to chase her around like a heat-seeking projectile. Puppet Master thought this way he would eventually get them. But while she was occupied, the Peacock wielder wasn't. He shot at the Akumatized Sentimonster, whom summoned his light ropes form his fingers again, and wrapped around him. Melek Taus wasn't going to take it lying down and shot off, dragging the Puppet Master along for a ride. If he could scream, the evil puppet creature would.
He was dragged across the battlefield, along the floor, into walls and rocks. Meanwhile, Pink Prominent still stayed far ahead of the pinwheel that has locked on to her. She and Melek's eyes met mid-air as they passed. They nodded, as they made a maneuver. They at first flew around some more creating enough distance. Melek Taus did enough turns and twists to the point that the ropes snapped and Puppet Master wouldn't be dragged along anymore. Though the creature was still dazed by the wild ride.
Then Pink Prominent shot towards the Puppet Master at full speed. Puppet Master wondered what she was doing until she pulled up. And then he saw his weapon coming for him. At high speed. He didn't have enough time to raise his hands and stop the weapon, as he was bisected, clean in half. The light in the Puppet Master's doll-like empty eye sockets died down as both his halves fell apart, towards the ground, fading away in blue and purple energy, being completely gone before they hit the ground.
Melek Taus and Pink Prominent flew towards the ground. Their power-up died down, returning to their normal hero suit, as Melek's armor faded away in blue energy. They looked exhausted. They laughed, looking tired, as they fell down in each other's arms, and just looked at the sky. The rest was up to the others now.
Latombe and Monarch stood there. Latombe holding his chest, which was bleeding blue and purple energy and Monarch's suit ripped and his skin covered in burns. "It means nothing." Latombe said. "Puppet Master will recreate us and we will start anew and fresh. While you are still tired."
"And I'll have all my Miraculouses back, so the effigies you have now will no longer make a difference in our next fight." Monarch said as he suddenly saw energy leaking from his body. "Er…anytime now? I'm fading away. Puppet Master!"
"No, I can't die here! Puppet Master, heal us. No, it can't be…" Latombe starts to panic as he and Monarch start to fade.
"It seems our Butterfly and Peacock destroyed Puppet Master. Which means…it's lights out for you!" Queen Mechitsune said.
"We told you…there is no world where you come out on top." Lapina said.
"No, save us, Emilie…Nathalie!" Monarch said as he faded from existence with a scream.
"We're old friends, do something. I don't wanna go…" Latombe followed soon after, the two effigies dying with their creator.
The Miraculous effigies the heroes used also faded away, as well as their Akuma forms as they turned to normal. "We still…Got it." Tom said panting.
"Now all that's left is…the kids…" Sabina said.
"They'll be fine." Marianne said. "They always are."
"I'm just glad that we were able to do our part. Go get them, kids!" Greg said.
"Mahamayuri…The Venomous, none of them have an idea of whom they are truly up against." Allegra said.
"Those are our kids." Emilie said with a smile.
Mr. Choo-choo just let out an adorable 'choo-choo' with puffs of smoke from his chimney.
Around the time that the Puppet Master fell, the Venomous had fallen. And all that was left was the leader herself. Mahamayuri…going up against Ladybug and Chat Noir.
