Daniel almost got a heart attack when the toast popped out of the toaster. Fortunately Regina wasn't around now, she would surely laugh at him for his ability to still, after more then 6 months, almost jump out of his skin whenever the toaster would launch another slice of bread. In the beginning he had tried timing the moment when the bread would pop out, but it seemed that the toaster was out to get him, because it never seemed do it at the exact same moment. So he had eventually given up.

The grabbed the hot toast and quickly threw it down in his plat. He rummaged through the fridge trying to find the butter. He pushed aside the cheese and the strawberry jam, expecting to see the blue cup. But it wasn't there.

Daniel sighed and closed the fridge again with an annoyed huff. He walked out of the kitchen and into the living room. Regina was watching television and he walked up behind her.

"Regina, do you know if we have some butter le-"

He was interrupted by a soft sob coming from Regina. He quickly rounded the couch and saw that Regina was softly crying. He sat down next to her.

"Shhh, what is is darling?" He asked in a soft voice.

Regina shook her head and pointed at the television.

Daniel followed her line of sight. He still didn't understand was was upsetting her so he tried again. "Could you maybe tell me what is happening."

"There, there was a commercial about.. mou-mousetraps." Regina sniffled. "They were killing a mouse. It's so unfair. That mouse had a family." She sobbed into Daniels chest.

Oh boy, hormones again.

Henry came walking into the living room but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw his mother sobbing into his fathers chest. "What's going on here?"

"Oh, your mother saw a commercial about mousetraps and they were killing the mouse."

"It's so unfair!" His mother's voice wailed, but it was muffled by Daniel's shirt. "The mouse had a family, Henry! A family!"

Henry wanted to burst out in laughter, it was so weird seeing his mom like this, he always knew her as Regina 'don't show emotion in public' Mills. And now she was crying, well sobbing actually about a mousetrap. But he didn't want to upset his mother so he held his tongue.

"I suddenly remember I have tons of homework." He said and he quickly scrambled out of the room again.

Daniel didn't really know what to do so he just rubbed Regina's back in a comforting manner. After a while Regina finally lifted her head from his chest. She looked at the wet and mascare stained spot on his blouse.

"I'm sorry I ruined your shirt, dear."

He looked down and then up again. "It's alright, don't think about it."

She leaned against him, her head resting on his shoulder and the two of them watched some tv, a weird celeberity quiz thingy.

The comfortable silence was interrupted however by a soft wince coming from the brunette next to him.

"She's kicking again?" Daniel asked with a smile.

Regina nodded and rubbed the spot her little girl had just kicked her painfully hard. "She hasn't stopped ever since I felt it the first time."

"Can I feel?"

"Of course." Regina said with a smile and she grabbed his right hand and placed it on the left side of her stomach.

When he felt the soft motions behind his palm he smiled brightly. "I feel it."

He scooted of the couch and dropped to his knees. Daniel seated himself between Regina's legs and kept his eyes trained on her belly. Regina smiled at him and pulled up her shirt until it rested just under her breasts. His warm hands made contact with her skin and Regina felt the child inside of her react immediately. It brought a warm smile to her face and she listened to Daniel, who was telling their child a story. A story about a stable boy and a princess.

Daniel smiled when he described how beautiful the princess was.

His toast completely forgotten.

...

Regina was walking with her head held high. Her heels making the familiar clicking sound on the hardwood floor of Town Hall when she walked towards her office. She smiled at her secretary, who smiled back at her.

"Good morning, Susan." Regina smiled and she opened the door. Regina took a deep breath, inhaling the familiar smell of paper and her perfume.

Regina dropped her purse next to her desk and seated herself in her leather chair. The chair made a soft creaking sound when Regina leaned back into it. She weaved her hands together and rested them on her stomach. To be honest, Regina didn't feel like working at all. She was tired and nauseous.

"Madam mayor, your fiancé is here to see you." Susan said over the intercom.

Regina smiled to herself, she pushed the button. "Let him in."

The door creaked open and Daniel walked in with a grin. "Hello there, beautiful." He said and he pulled out a bouquet of flowers form behind his back. "I brought you these."

"Why thank you, my handsome stable boy." She said and she reached out and took the flowers. Regina grabbed and empty vase and filled it with water.

"They look wonderful." She said and she placed the flowers on her desk.

"I was also wondering, if you would like to go on a stroll with me."

Regina thought about it for a moment, she wasn't going to get any work done now anyways. Maybe some fresh air would do her good.

"I would like that." She answered and pulled on her coat.

...

The couple walked hand in hand down Main Street. Form time to time they would still get an angry look from the towns people but most of the time they were left to their own devises.

"So, have you thought about a name yet?" Daniel asked and he squeezed her hand a little.

Regina walked closer to him and he couldn't help but let go of her hand and instead put his arm over her shoulder so he could pull her even closer.

Regina put her arm around his waist. "Mhmm. I don't know yet. You?"

"No not really." He smiled. "But fortunately we still have 4 months."

There was a sigh coming from his right and he looked at her with a questioning gaze. "4 more moths and I'm only going to get even bigger and more uncomfortable!" She groaned.

A chuckle escaped his lips and he kissed her temple. "Don't worry, darling. I'll help you, and Henry will help you."

"I'll hold you to that."

They walked in silence for a moment.

"Do you want to go to Granny's for a drink?"

"Yes, that would be nice."

The couple entered Granny's and it was as if the whole crowd suddenly went mute. Everyone stared at them, they still didn't understand how someone could be with the Evil Queen.

"Alright folks! Shut your mouths before you'll catch a fly!" Granny's voice boomed through the diner.

They took the hint and returned to whatever they were previously doing.

Regina and Daniel sat down in a booth and Granny came walking over to them with a notepad to take their orders. "Thank you, Granny." Regina said with a smile of gratitude.

Granny was one of the few people who had forgiven Regina, even though it had cost her some time. Which was understandable.

"Of course. What can I get the..." She looked at Regina's belly and smiled. "three of you, I guess."

Regina smiled and rubbed her stomach, to which her little girl immediately responded by giving a hard kick. "I would like a tea."

The old woman scribbled it on her notepad and looked at Daniel. "And you, Daniel?"

"A coffee, please." He answered with a polite smile. Ever since he had first tasted the bitter liquid he was completely hooked on the stuff. The first time, he drank 15 cups in one day and he was litterally bouncing around the house all day. That little slip up caused Regina to give him a 'coffee rule' as she liked to call it, which basically meant he couldn't have more than 4 cups a day.

"It'll be right up."

"You realize that this will be your forth cup of the day, don't you dear?"

Daniel pouted. "Yes." He said with a whine. "That rule is ridiculous."

Regina let out a throaty chuckle. "No, it's not. You need to learn how to handle it."

"Fine."

Granny placed the cups on the table.

"Thank you." Daniel said and he gave her a few dollar. "Keep the change."

She took a sip of the scolding water, loving the way it burnt her throat a little and made her feel all warm inside. "Not that I want you gone, dear. But isn't your break long over by now."

Daniel slammed his cup down and looked at his watch. "Damn." He muttered and looked at her apologetically. "I'm so sorry."

She smiled at him. "It's alright, dear."

He rounded the table and kissed her on her lips. "I'll see you tonight." He said and stormed out of the diner. Regina rolled her eyes, it was so typically Daniel.

...

Regina pushed her hands further into her pockets when she walked into the frigid Maine air. She carefully walked down the steps and turned left, towards her house. She didn't feel like going back to work, one of the perks of being the mayor, she supposed.

Regina was so lost in her thought that she didn't notice the figure that was emanating from the alley next to Granny's. The figure followed the unsuspecting brunette for a while, building up her courage.

Regina was turning the corner on Mifflin Street, when she heard it.

"Regina?"

She stopped dead in her tracks and snapped her head up. No, that couldn't be. There's no way.

Regina turned around slowly, still not believing that this could be real.

The woman gasped when she saw Regina's stomach. "You- you're pregnant!"

It was real. Regina's biggest nightmare was now standing in front of her.

"Mother." She said in a cold voice. "How did you get here?"

...

Haha, yes it's Cora! Leave a review! ;)
