(BEN)

I stumbled backward a few steps. Gold was out of his mind, he'd gone psychopathic, and his first victim was me.

The lake was huge. Huge I tell you!

…okay, maybe I was overreacting. But when you're confronted by your worst fear ever, it gives you permission to freak out.

"Come on, don't worry," Gold smiled, grabbed my shoulder, and shoved me closer the edge, "This'll be fast."

'KILL HIM, KILL HIM, KILL HIM!' I screamed at myself mentally, but in my fear I just whipped around and shoved him into a wall. He fell, limp, onto the rock floor.

I slumped down to the ground and just watched him for a second. He wasn't moving, so it was reasonable to think he had passed out. Made sense; that would probably crack a normal person's head. I sat in silence for a while.

I grinned to myself; this would be a fun story to tell to the others when I got back.

Then, it hit me. Was the reason Gold acted like this because of Creepypasta? Sure, if he wasn't exposed to all the insanity he was he wouldn't be quite as…psychotic…as he was before. He adapted to his surroundings like a chameleon - he could be timid, angry, antisocial, or depressed, and it depended on what was going on.

So possibly, focusing so much on…?

…Okay, I hated myself now.

I broke out of my thoughts when I heard a groan come from Gold.

*Lost Silver*

I groaned and shook my head. "What happened…?" I said to no-one in particular. I looked up to see Ben, who was on his knees, staring at me angrily, and had smoke rising from his fingertips.

I scrambled further up against a wall and held up my hands defensively. "D-don't hurt me…"

Ben froze for a second, and then let his hands fall to his sides.

"LS?"

"Y-yeah?"

"YES!" He exclaimed, rushing over to my side. "I THOUGHT I LOST YOU!"

I raised an eyebrow at him.

"…no pun intended," He giggled.

"Okay…?"

It got silent for a while, before, for once, I started the conversation.

"What's with the pond?" I asked, pointing at the crystal clear water. It was actually sort of pretty, not that Ben got that out of it at all.

"Oh, you didn't know?" He questioned, sitting up against the wall with me.

I shook my head, staring up at him.

"Okay, well, the other you took over your body, harassed me a bit, and then tried to kill me."

I scowled. "You see?" I stood up and began to pace around.

"This is what we do. We use people's fear against them. We do nothing but pick on them and scare them and…I don't know, give them reason for them to be paranoid their whole life. You got front row seat of that, didn't you? What's so fun about it? Sure, being scared can be enjoyable for some, but making a life out of it?"

"Gold, stop it. You're ranting."

I glanced over at the blonde-haired boy.

"…I understand completely, and I agree with you."

He sighed.

"It isn't fun. I quit too."
