(BEN)
Well, I'm pretty sure he wasn't expecting that. I don't think anyone would expect that, really. Of course, I'm not the most predictable guy, so with me you had to predict the unpredictable.
Gold was quiet for a moment, processing what I said, then said in a quiet voice, "Y-you don't have to…I just-"
"Gold, I want to. It's stupid to make people suffer for no reason. What am I punishing them for anyway?" I said, staring at the rocky floor.
"…in all honesty, it's pretty stupid to play a game you got from an old man for free at a garage sale…" Gold pointed out, smiling slightly.
"Yeeaaahhh…I can't argue with that," I laughed. "Still doesn't make it right to give them nightmares, though."
Gold, still grinning to himself, looked over at the cursed lake, a thoughtful look in his eyes.
"What?" I asked, tilting my head like a confused puppy (it was an action fangirls can't deny, so I did it often just to get people to do what I wanted them to).
"I don't know. Just thinking," He murmured. He sat down at the water's edge and ran his fingers through the liquid.
I frowned. "Thinking about what?" I repeated.
"What do you think I'm thinking about-"
"Gold, no. That's my line."
"…sorry." He looked back at me. "Anyway, guess."
I rolled my eyes and thought for a minute. He had quite a few things on his mind lately, so it would be hard to guess what he was thinking about.
"Erm…do I have to?" I asked.
"Yes."
I pouted at him. He looked back at the water, and I swear I heard him laugh a little bit.
At least he was enjoying himself for the first time since this started.
"…I can give you a hint," Gold offered, blood-colored eyes locked on the rippling of the water's surface as he dropped a pebble in. I wasn't even going to question what the heck he was doing. It was like the water was hypnotizing him or something.
Then again, he seemed easily impressed by things like this. Wind blowing, dewdrops falling, sunrise and sunset: it was like he didn't even know that these things are natural. I always wondered if his Pokémon, Celebi, had anything to do with it, being part of the whole time-space program of the Pokémon world.
PokéPastas were pretty screwed up anyway.
"Did you hear me?" Gold asked, looking slightly annoyed.
"Huh?" I blinked at him. I must have been too lost in my own thoughts to hear what he was saying.
Gold sighed, "Really, Ben?" He flicked a few drops of water on me in frustration.
"H-hey! What was that for?!" I screeched, "What'd I do?"
"Nevermind, I'll tell you later," He said.
"…oh, yeah. I agree with you, the others can be pretty screwed up."
"Wh-what?"
*Lost Silver*
It appears I was the only one who learned anything from the past experience.
The first thing I learned was that I really need to control myself.
The second was I needed to stop being a freaking stick in the mud…
…maybe playing with people's heads was a tiny bit fun…
