...

Cora's eyes shifted from her daughter, to Daniel, then back to Regina's pregnant stomach and then back to Daniel again. All the puzzle pieces suddenly connected.

"Oh my..."

"Snow! What did you do?!" Regina asked as she gripped the doorpost tightly, her knuckles turning white with the force.

The pixie harder woman just stood there in the doorway without giving any kind of response. The pure devastated shock she'd just witnessed on her former stepmother's face, actually made her feel like she'd made the wrong decision. Like she'd ruined everthing yet again.

But that is who she is, isn't it? The real Snow White behind the mask of the pretty, pure and kind princess. She just couldn't help herself, always meddling in everyone's lives, thinking she knew best. That she knew what to do.

What a lie.

"Is that- is that really you, stable boy?" Cora finally asked. She needed the reassurance that this wasn't some cruel kind of karma, that she wasn't losing her mind.

Daniel took a few steps backwards so he could stand next to his fiancée. Regina was pale and looked like she was going to faint any moment. "It's me, Cora."

"But I killed you. How?"

"That's not important right now." He cut her off as he let Regina lean on his shoulder.

"It's yours?" Cora asked softly, though it was unnecesary seeing that she already knew the answer by the way Daniel was protecting her daughter from her. But she couldn't hold that against him, she killed him for gods sakes.

"I think.. I need to sit down for a moment." Regina whispered. The shock of her mother showing up at her door was becoming to much on her already exhausted body.

Daniel nodded in understanding. "Let's move this to the living room."

They moved towards the living room where David, Henry and Emma where still sitting in oblivion, unknowing to the thing that had just occurred in the foyer of the big white mansion.

"Mom?" Henry asked as he noticed his mother who was as white as a sheet. He put the controller down and stood up to take a seat on the couch next to Regina.

"I'm fine Henry." Regina said softly, trying to put on a comforting smile but failing miserably.

"Why did you free Cora, Snow?" Daniel asked.

Snow opened her mouth to reply but Regina cut her off. "No, I don't think this conversation is appropriate for everyone's ears." She said giving a pointing look towards her son.

Emma noticed and stood up, dragging her father with her. "You're right, Regina. David and I will entertain Henry." Emma said and she received a thankful smile.

Once the trio had left the living room, Snow spoke up again. "Look, Regina. I know you and your mother have a... difficult relationship." Snow ignored the snort she heard when she described it as difficult. "And I also knew that you're stubborn, so I thought that bringing Cora to you would be the only way to start mending your relationship."

Regina's fists itched. She wanted to reach forward and snap the princess her fragile neck. "First of all, dear. It was not your place to think and second, why would you think I want to mend the relationship with my mother?! This is so typically Snow White, always thinking she knows best. Well, you know nothing!" Regina spat as sat back against the cushions. She suppressed the urge to rub her aching back. It would be no good to show weakness now.

"Regina, I want you to know that I really want to change for you. Please believe me darling."

Regina was shocked to notice the salty tears that began to form in dark brown eyes so much like her own. She had never seen her mother cry, or show any other emotion than anger. And the anger that she then saw had almost always been pointed towards her.

When Regina didn't answer, Daniel sat up to face the woman who had ruined his true love's life, the woman who had robbed him of his life once and the woman who would soon be his mother in law. "Cora, I think you need to leave. If you really want to be better, to be a good mother then you need to give Regina her space."

But the old sorceress didn't seem to hear him, her eyes still trained on her pale daughter. "I want you to know that I am so, so sorry that I killed your stable boy. For forcing you to marry the King even though you pleaded for me to call it off. I want to make amends, I will do anything darling, just please give me chance."

"I, I will." Regina saw her mother was genuine. "But I don't know if I can ever forgive."

Cora nodded, already glad that Regina had given her another chance to do right, to be the best mother and grandmother she could possible be.

"But if you hurt anyone, may it be Henry, Daniel or even the Charmings." She said in a low voice, making sure everyone in the room knew she was dead serious. "I will hunt you down."

"Of course, I have no interest in hurting anyone, sweetheart. I just want you back in my life."

Regina turned to Snow. "And you, you need to stop meddling in my life because I promise you, you'll wish for another sleeping curse when I'm done with you."

Snow visibly swallowed at the threat. There was no doubt Regina was meaning every word.

"Now, I would like to start with dinner. I'll get you a plate, mother."

...

Daniel was wearing only a boxer when he stepped into their bathroom. He stopped for a second taking in his beautiful fiancée that was seated in the large bath, the bubbles were covering her modesty but her large belly that housed their child stuck out from the water a little.

"You made the right decision today, Gina." He said as he sat down on the closed toilet.

She opened her eyes too look into his piercing blue ones. "You think?" She asked through a yawn.

"Yes, I think so. I know that you need your mother during this period of your life Regina, even though you try to deny it. It's natural, you're pregnant, of course you want your mother to help you and give you advice."

Regina stared at him for a long time. "I'm so glad you're back."

"Me too." He grinned and stood up from the toilet. His hands reached for the hem of his boxers to pull them down. "Scoot over."

Regina did as told and moved forewards so Daniel could take place behind her back. She leaned back against his broad chest and sighed. His hands covered her own on her stomach, feeling the child kick. "You know, I'm actually kind off happy. I have everything I ever wanted."

"I know." He whispered as he used his nose to push some wet and dark strands of hair to the side to press a lingering kiss on Regina's shoulder. She smelled of apples, which was no surprise.

Another kick brought both of their attention back to the child inside of Regina's stomach. As of the little girl was worrying about being forgotten. Daniel couldn't control the grin that spread across his face. His fingers moved over the stretched skin and he gently began to massage it.

Regina let out an appreciative moan in response to the gently touches of his fingers. "Maybe this is a good time to start about names." He said, his fingers never stopping the gentle massage. "Only two more months, I think it's about time."

Regina nodded and lowered her head in his shoulder. "You're right."

"Have you thought of something yet?"

"Yes I have." Regina said with a small smile.

"And?" He asked in anticipation."

"Aiden."

There was a short silence and Regina thought it meant that he didn't like it. "But, if you don't like it we ca-"

"No, no that's not it." He quickly interrupted. "I love it actually."

"Really?" She asked as she looked up.

"Yes, really."

"It means little fire, and I just thought it suited her." As in confirmation the girl kicked again, causing both parents to grin.

"Aiden Reyes."
