Hey everyone, I hope you all have been well. I do apologize for the delay in this chapter, i Have given my reasoning below explaining what has happened. I won't keep you here for long so I hope you all enjoy the next chapter.

Last-Time

"What do you mean by 'when you meet them', are we supposed to go meet the sovereigns, and if so when?" He asks Blk Agumon was able to explain this one rather quickly.

"You see, the sovereigns have set up a meeting with you to take place in 2 days. They wanted to give you some more time to adjust to life here … well all but Zhuqiaomon, He wanted to hold the meeting with you at the start of your second week here." He states, before checking the clock that was hanging on the wall behind him and subsequently jumping up.

"Oh shit, I'm late. I am sorry but I must end this discussion here, I have a meeting that I am currently running late to. I'll come back tomorrow or the day after to take you to your meeting with the sovereigns. Have a good day now," He says, before making a mad dash to the door leading into the lounge area and going through it but not before saying 'thanks for the drink and pastries'. Everything had gone silent after he had left for a few moments before everyone decided to do their own thing (Takato training both Salamon and Rena, Dorumon cleaning up the living room) for the next couple of hours before calling it a day and going to sleep.

Now

The following two days went by in a flash, and now both Takato and Rena are standing in front of the Tamer Union/HQ. Takato had thought that it would be best to leave Salamon home, while her digivolution to her Rookie stage seemed to have Matured her a bit, she was still unable to sit still for more than a few minutes. If he had brought her along with them to the meeting it would lead her to create some chaos to entertain herself and distract everyone. So she was currently training under Dorumon, mainly just strengthening her defense and agility. Looking up at the building in front of them, Takato took a deep breath before turning to face Rena.

"Ready to face off against the sovereigns and the overgrown chicken again Rena?" he states, smiling as he hears the fox Digimon snorting in amusement.

"As good as I can be, though am a bit disappointed that Blk-Agumon couldn't join us today, we could've really used him as a mediator, especially after our previous experience with said 'Overgrown Chicken'," she responds, before the both of them made their way into the building. You may be wondering what happened to Blk-Agumon,

Flashback - Yesterday

Takato was currently preparing some dough for tomorrow's breakfast, even though he hasn't felt any type of hunger since coming into the digital world (perks of having a digital body) doesn't mean that he sometimes craves something to eat, the same goes for his partners. Just as he was setting his dough to proof, his digivice began to ring.

"Answer call" Takato states, glad that his upgraded digivice had a lot more functions than his D-Ark, one of them being able to call other Digivice users or phones. Just after he spoke, the screen lit up and revealed Blk-Agumon.

"Hey Blk-Agumon how are you doing, I just finished preparing some dough for tomorrow's pastries, do you have any requests?" He asks, snickering slightly as he sees the mini black dino drool slightly. Said dino quickly wiping his maw from the drool, before speaking.

"I would love some of that jam-filled pastry you had last time, though i think that may have to wait sadly. I just got some new orders. They are having me lead a team to try and restore the Darkmoon city network bridge and to help repair any damage done to the city. The team will include Nanomon as he is one of the heads of programming at the Union, I wanted to call you now as they will be sending us out in the next few minutes." he explains, causing takato to nod, before stilling softly.

"But what does this mean about tomorrow's meeting with the Sovereigns?" He replies to which Blk-Agumon rubs his head.

"That's the reason why I am calling, this undertaking is going to take a couple of days, maybe even weeks, and that's a best-case scenario worst case is it becomes indefinite. I'm sorry Takato, but it looks like i won't be able to join you guys for that meeting and mediate between you and the sovereigns," Blk Agumon responds, and before takato could say anything, there was a loud shout from Blk Agumon's side of the call, causing said Black dino to curse.

"Shit, sorry Takato i gotta go. Head to the reception of the Tamer Union, someone there will be able to bring you to the sovereigns," the video call then dropped. No sooner than that, both Rena and Salamon re-entered the house, salamon asking/talking takato down looking for food.

Flashback Over

Once inside the building, both Takato and Rena went to the reception area, seeing both Agumon and gabumon behind the counter again. Though Agumon was currently chatting with Clavis-Angemon.

"Morning Agumon, Gabumon." Takato says, waving at the two receptionists, who proceed to wave back at them.

"Morning to you too young tamer, anything either of us can help you with today?" The gabumon responds while Agumon continues to keep his attention on Clavis-Angemon. Takato and Rena head towards Gabumon's side of the desk, and then explains that he has a meeting with the sovereigns today and he wanted to know where to go. Before Gabumon could respond, Clavis Angemon spoke up.

"Ahhh, You must be Takato, don't worry Gabumon i can take them to the sovereign's meeting room," he interjects and does a follow-me motion with his hand towards them. Clavis proceeds to lead them to the back of the building and stands next to a teleporter tile.

"Here we go, I'll head in first to make sure that they are all there and ready for you, one moment please." he then steps onto the tile and disappears in a flash of blue light, and re-appears a few seconds later.

"The Sovereigns are all there and ready for you both, just step on this tile and you'll be brought to them." He states before stepping away from the tile, Takato looks over at Rena who nods at him. Takato steps on the tile and digitizes Rena before they get transported to the sovereign's meeting room.

Sovereigns meeting room

Takoto reappears in a flash of blue light inside the meeting room and quickly brings Rena out of the digivice before facing the sovereigns who were currently all around them (it is the main room where you go to collect quests from the game). All 4 of them were present, Zhuqiaomon, Azulongmon, Ebonwumon, and Baihumon.

"Hello again young tamer, it has been quite some time since we last saw one another." Azulongmon greeted, bowing his head slightly. Both Takto and Rena bowed their heads back in greeting and proceeded to greet the other sovereigns, excluding Zhuqiaomon.

"It has been quite a long time, last time was only for a brief moment and we couldn't really speak more due to the D-reaper threat, though I am glad that you all seem to be doing good," Takato states.

"So true, it is sad to say that we couldn't interact more after the threat was extinguished but the digital world needed rebuilding and it needed tamers to help with it. We have tried to reach out to both you and your… fellow tamers but the connection between your world seemed to have been severed." Azulongmon states, causing Takato to explain what had happened on their side. How the D-Reaper had used Jeri as their Host, and then how Henri's Father had installed some kind of program into terriormon that once the D-reaper threat had left the world, all Digimon would be forcefully degenerated and sent back to the digital world. This program also created a barrier that prevented Digimon from coming over and vice versa, He then stated how glad he was that it wasn't permanent like Janyu had planned.

"I see, I am glad that it wasn't permanent either, I am impressed that that human, Janyu, was able to write such a program in such a short time," he replies, just as Zhuqiaomon scoffed.

"And what makes you think that we could believe that one single human was able to create such a program," Zhuqiaomon Sneered.

"Well he was part of the original team that created the D-reaper, but that was mainly because they thought that this was all a game. They created the D-reaper as a fail-safe in the event that the game became overpopulated with Digimon, or if an actual virus started to infect the game." Takato explained, which caused Zhuqiaomon to growl back, before being silenced by the other three Sovereigns.

"Hold your tongue Zhuqiaomon, before we decide to kick you out of this meeting." Ebonwumon states, before turning both of its heads back towards Takato and Rena.

"Am sorry about him, he is still not the greatest at dealing with humans, he hasn't changed much since the incident." he apologizes to them both, before letting Azulongmon continue with the main reason the meeting was set up.

"Apologies young tamer, We also would like to offer our condolences for your loss. We tried to do our best to prevent Grimmon from entering the human world, but it seemed all in vain."

Azulongmon states, bowling his head. The other sovereigns did the same, except for Zhuqiaomon. Takato Accepted their apology, just as Rena had put one of her paws on his back to help comfort him. Since being in the digital world the pain of guilmon's death seemed to have faded, but it still stung whenever his best friend was brought up.

"Thank you, all of you," he says, all the sovereigns who bowed their heads lifted them up and Baihumon spoke this time.

"He was a brave fighter from what I saw, you both made a powerful team. Sadly though, we need to ask you a favor," Baihumon states, causing both Rena and Takato to mentally snort, expecting this.

"I'm guessing you guys need help Dealing with Grimmon?" Takato responds, receiving multiple nods from them.

"Yes, you see we are still recovering from our battle against the D-reaper, and while we are currently regaining our strength we are still only at half of what our full power used to be," Baihumon states, Rena then speaks up.

"While that is understandable, why just Takato, why not include the rest of the tamers. While I can't possibly forgive them for the harshness that they treated Takato with, wouldn't it be more viable to have all of them fight together?" She questions, Takato nods his head, wondering the same thing.

"While we could use all the help we can get the main problem is that we were only able to bring one of you down at a time, as to not let Grimmon notice you all. Though we do not plan on bringing the others down, as that could leave your world completely defenseless to any/all incoming digimon attacks." Azulongmon states.

"But isn't it possible for us to go to and from both worlds whenever possible?" Takato states, remembering the conversation he had with Nanomon and BLK-Agumon.

"While that is true, there is another reason for us to only have you come to the digital world, and that is that you won't try to attack everything. We have all decided that Rika, Ryo, and Kazu were immediate no's because they seem more interested in fighting everything while Kazu has a calm digimon for a partner it doesn't take away that he will still try to fight many of the denizens here. As for Henri and Kenta, they both were on the fence, mainly because they seemed to be side-line fighters Kenta as his Mega, while powerful, is more so a healer than a fighter. Henri is a great defender, but that does come with its own problems. The rest of the tamers are children, Young children, so it would be best to not throw them into a new world without any sort of guidance or parental figures to look out for them. Those are just some of the reasons why we didn't choose them." Ebonwumon explains, letting that information sink in, before continuing.

"You, on the other hand, had many prevailing qualities that we believe suit both the needs of the digital world and of its citizens. You have always cared for Digimon, that is something that makes you capable of dealing with the issues that they face, the others would try to fight anything and everything that would increase their power or their belief in what's right. While you on the other hand would help not for the sack of power or your own belief, but to Actually help them get through the problems. You have a strong spirit, which makes you a great warrior, you have a big heart that shows you care deeply for those you love and are willing to help those in need. And from what we have learned during your fights both before, during, and After the D-reaper, you are the only one we could see as the perfect choice for this." He continued, as the other sovereigns nodded their heads, including Zhuqiaomon, much to the giant chickens' annoyance. Before anything more could be said, Azulungmon coughed, regaining all the attention.

"That is the truth young Tamer, we chose you as you are the one tamer that meets what the digital world needs. When we started bringing in tamers, we made it a rule to invite only tamers who meet the requirements we have set which are the exact qualities you possess. Now back to the matter at hand." Azulongmon straightens himself, and the other sovereigns do the same.

"We have called you to this meeting to request your Aid in defeating the one known as 'Grimmon', he has caused immense damage to the digital world, almost on the scale of the D-reaper. He has attacked both Darkmoon and Sunshine City, degenerating and deleting most of the Digimon within the city, as well as killing quite a lot of tamers. Grimmon has destroyed the connection between both cities and has severed the connection we have with them. Once we learned what had happened we went and tried to fight off Grimmon in an attempt to avenge those who had fallen and to prevent a future loss. Sadly though he managed to overpower us. At that time he was only a floating purple egg, but it seems that he was able to evolve himself into the Grimmon you fought not long after our battle with him." Azulongmon states, taking a few moments to let the information sink in, before continuing.

"We know for a fact that Grimmon is not a Digimon, in fact, we believe that he is a remnant of the D-reaper virus that has survived the battle," he explains, causing both Takato and Rena to stiffen. Another D-reaper agent, it should be impossible and when Takato stated as such, Ebonwumon shook his head.

"I am afraid so young tamer, we were and still are as shocked as you on this matter. We made sure that any/all remnants of the D-reaper were deleted from the digital world, though it seems as though there was either a backup or the D-reaper was able to hide itself even from us." the twin-headed turtle stated, before letting Azulongmon continue his explanation.

"As they have stated we do not know how it is possible, only that it has happened and he now exists. We need your help in fighting off this new threat and possibly ridding this world of the D-reaper once and for all. Takato Matsuki, Vulpamon, we along with the entire digital world need your help, will you help us once again." He asked and proceeded to bow his head deeply, the other sovereigns did the exact same, all asking for their help, including Zhuqiaomon. Takato looked over at Rena to see that she had a slight look of shock on her face, just like he knew he had as well. After a few moments, Takato regained his voice and spoke.

"I-I will help, if my partner thinks we can," he states, which woke Rena from her shock, and she agreed to help as well. The sovereigns proceeded to raise their heads and thanked them both. The meeting continued, but it became lighter as it was now more so a standard induction. Welcoming Takato, telling him about the duties of a tamer, quests, and so on and so forth. Once all that was done, Takato and Rena were free to go and to let them know that they will be in touch soon.

Both of them said their goodbyes and left the meeting room and made their way back to Takato's house and started to make more plans for training and to treat dorumon to some bread.

Hey everyone, am sorry for the long wait for this chapter, if some of you follow Raised in the Shadow some of you may have learned that my tablet got stolen, on it was completed chapters for this story, 2-3 for Raised in the shadow, as well as the start of the next chapter for my other stories. So I had to spend a lot of time re-writing a lot of the chapters due to this. I hope you all enjoyed this Chapter. If any of you have suggestions on what should happen for the next chapter please do let me know, as I would love to hear them.
