Authors note: Oops a little late, I was busy writing On The Face Of It. Anyways, we're getting to the end of this story.
...
"Henry, sweetheart?" Regina asked softly as she knocked on Henry's bedroom door. She bit her bottom lip. Regina should've known that he would react this way, but yet she had still tried to convince Emma that he wouldn't be angry with her. "Henry?" She tried again when her first request remained unanswered.
There was a soft grumble that sounded like 'come in' so Regina reached for the door handle and pushed it down. Henry was lying on his bed, reading a comic book Regina knew he had already read for more then a thousand times. He rolled a little to the side, making place for his mother to sit.
"Will you tell me why you are mad at Emma?" Regina asked softly once she was seated.
"She lied to me, and she knows I hate it when people lie." Henry grumbled as he closed the comic book and threw it on the ground next to his bed.
"But darling, you do know she did it to protect you, don't you?" Regina asked carefully.
Henry seemed to think about it for a moment before he begrudgingly nodded. "Yeah, but why did she tell me he's dead. I mean, I met him and he seems nice so I don't understand why Emma would want to protect me from him."
"You know that appearance says nothing, Henry. I mean, do I look like an Evil Queen?" Regina asked with a grin as she pointed at her belly.
The quip brought a small smile to Henry's face. "No."
Regina nodded. "Emma probably had very good reasons why she lied to you. She loves you henry."
"Yeah I know." Henry sighed. "Now I feel bad."
"Let's call Emma to say that you're not mad at her, alright? She wasn't happy that you just stormed out." Regina suggested.
Henry nodded. "Yes. I love you mom." He said as he stood up.
"I love you too Henry." Regina said with a smile. "But can you first help me off this bed, please?" She asked with a grin as she stuck out her arms for Henry to grab.
...
"So darling, I heard you smoothed everything over between Emma and Henry." Cora said as she sat down on the couch next to Regina.
"Yes, he's now at Emma's to talk." Regina said as she crossed her arms and then uncrossed them again. She shifted a little and then sighed aloud.
Cora raised her eyebrow at her daughter's behavior. "Is something the matter, dear?"
"Yes." Regina grumbled. "Is it normal that I just can't seem to get comfortable." The brunette sighed as she dropped her hands on her stomach. It was a lost battle. She would never be comfortable again until this baby was out.
Cora chuckled as she grabbed a pillow next to her and beckoned her daughter to lean over so she could place the pillow behind Regina's back. "I'm sorry to say but it is, darling. You'll just have to live through this for the upcoming three weeks or so."
"Great." Regina grumbled as she sat back. Relief flooded her system and showed obviously on her face. "Oh god, thank you so much."
Cora chuckled as she sat back also. "It's quite alright, dear. I remember exactly how it was."
...
"So Henry wants to meet his birth father?" Daniel asked as he dropped down on the bed next to Regina.
"Yes he does." Regina said as she looked up from the book she was reading. She closed it and let it rest on her stomach. "Emma and I will both be there to supervise, that way I can meet the man too."
"Keep me updated okay? I want to know with what kind of douchebag we're dealing with." Daniel grumbled as he moved closer to his fiancée. "I swear if he hurts Henry- or even so much as dissapoints him, I'm going to kill the guy."
Regina's heart swelled at Daniel's words. It showed he really loved Henry as his own son. "I love it when you get protective." She purred and laid her head to rest on his shoulder.
"I just don't want him to get hurt. Who knows what this Neal person wants."
"Henry just wants to get to know him a little and even though I'm not exactly sure about that, Henry wants it. I promise you dear, I despise the idea as must as you do but in this case, it's Henry's choice." Regina said with a sigh as she breathed in the smell that was typically Daniel.
"You're right." Daniel said after a small silence. "When did you get so wise?"
Regina scoffed as she playfully slapped him on the shoulder. "How do you mean, 'get'? I was always this wise."
Daniel laughed as he slowly turned his head and kissed her on the lips. "I know, I'm sorry my Queen."
"You'd better be."
Daniel was grinning as he placed another kiss on her lips and moved his hand to slowly stroke her stomach. "I can't believe our little Aiden will be with us in less then a month."
Regina smiled as she nuzzled her head in his chest and leaned into him. "I can't either. And I think she can't wait either seeing that she has been kicking me in the kidneys for the last two weeks."
"Ah, I'm sorry darling? How can I make it up to you?" Daniel asked with a grin as he moved closer. His lips were so close to her, Regina could feel his hot breath.
"Oh, I can figure something out, dear." Regina chuckled as she leaned in and pecked him on his lips.
...
"I'm glad you said I could meet him, mom." Henry said with a small nervous smile, they were walking towards Granny's where the would meet Emma and Neal.
"Of course, sweetheart." Regina said softly. "It is normal that you're curious. So if meeting your father is what you want, then you will."
Henry nodded in thought and furrowed his eyebrows. "Thank you, but I don't really think about Neal as my father. It's what you said, blood doesn't make a family. And you and Daniel are my parents, and Emma of course too but that's just... different, I guess."
The words brought tears to her eyes." He thought about her as his mother and Daniel as his father. This what everything that she had always wanted, but never thought she could have. "You're an amazing son, Henry. I love you so much."
"Mom." Henry groaned but with a grin on his face. "Don't start crying on me please."
Regina chuckeld through her tears. "I'm sorry dear, I just can't seem to help myself."
The little bell ringed as Henry pushed the door open. Regina's brown eyes immediatly found the table Emma was sitting at, together with the man that was about to change her life forever, again.
"Hey kid." Emma said with a small and clearly uncomfortable smile.
"Hey, Emma." He said softly as he sat down facing the man that was his birth father. Seeing that Henry had taken the chair next to Emma, it was up to Regina to sit next to Neal. Maybe it was better this way, at least now she could thoroughly interrogate the man.
"So..." Emma said after a minute of awkward silence where Henry was staring at Regina, Regina was intently staring at Neal, whose eyes were trained on Henry and Emma's eyes were watching the ceiling.
"Ehm, so you didn't know I existed?" Henry tried carefully.
"No." Neal answered with a sigh. "I did not."
"Because you let Emma take the fall and walked away." Henry stated matter of factly.
"Henry." Regina softly scolded, but then turned to Neal, wondering how he was going to react on this accurate accusation.
"Yes. That's why."
Well, at least he's honest.
"Why did you do that, it's not really nice."
"Ehm." Neal started hampering. "Pinocchio ehm, he came to me and told me to leave Emma behind. All so she could eventually break the curse."
"So because some stranger told you to leave my ma behind, you just did." Henry was starting to feel anger rise in his chest. Maybe this we was why Emma was trying to protect him from Neal.
"Well, it didn't went like that exactly."
"But it still happened."
"Yes it did."
"I think that is enough, Henry." Regina said softly.
"So you're the one who raised him." Neal more said then asked as he desperately tried to change the subject.
Regina scoffed as she weaved her finger together and rested them on her stomach. "If you meant to say that I'm his mother, then yes, I am."
"He turned out quite good for being raised by the Evil Queen." Neal regretted it the moment he said the words, that came out completely wrong.
Regina's eyes darkened with anger, stopping Emma's movements as she wanted to slam the man's head in for being so insensitive. Apparently Regina's coal black eyes did nothing to stop Henry.
"Don't call my mom that, she is not the Evil Queen!"
Several heads turned at Henry's outburst.
"Henry, I didn't mean to say it like that." Neal tried.
"Yeah? Well you did, and when you say something like that you can't take it back. Believe me I know." Henry was fuming as he abruptly stood up from his chair and rounded the table.
His eyes were still trained on his birth father as he stuck his hands out for his mother to grab. "Come on, mom, ma. I wanna go home."
Regina nodded and looked at the man next to her with an angry glare as she grabbed her son's hands and he slowly pulled her up. "Goodbye, mister Cassidy."
Emma stood up also and waited until mother and son were almost at the door before speaking up. "Why the hell did you do that, Neal? How can you be so insensitive?"
"I- I didn't mean to Emma, it just came out." Neal said with a whimper.
"Yeah, well you really fucked up this time."
