"We have the fitting next week and then rehearsal on the sound stage the day after that and then we film the day after that. Oh and did I mention that the performance is going to be live now as well?"

Maya looked up from her book and glared up at Josh. "Live? Honey we never discussed a live performance! I haven't shifted the choreography for a natural flow between numbers! I planned it with the idea that we'd be able to do frame by frame transitions. I'm not prepared for this!" Maya slammed her book shut and stood up. "Josh! Why did you not tell me this before?"

Josh cocked his head to the side and threw his hands up in the air. "Well how about the fact that I'm just finding out this news myself as well!" Josh took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Look we're both under a lot of stress right now. Let's not take it out on each other okay?"

Maya sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. "You're right. I'm sorry. You wouldn't spring stuff like that on me. I'm just-" She shoved her hands in her pockets. "I'm just really concerned about this Andrew stuff. It's weird and I'm on edge and I don't want everything to get screwed up here too. I just want everything to work. I want to dance and be married to you and have our family when we're ready, but I also want it to be a safe world that we'd have our family in."

Josh walked up to her and rubbed his hands up and down her shoulders. "I know. Me too. We deserve a safe world for ourselves. A lot of it is out of our hands right now so let's just focus on what we can control right now. We've doubled down on security, Joe has the clearance list, we're safe Maya."

They shared a deep breath praying to god that Josh was right.

.:.

Raindrops ran down the car window as Maya felt Josh's thumb rub over her hand. "It's the first rainy day in Los Angeles," she whispered.

Josh stared out the windshield, taking in the silence and the comfort the sound of the rain brought him. "Our first one since moving here." He glanced over at Maya, she just continued to stare.

They sat in their driveway, enthralled by the weather. Suddenly, Josh cranked the car and turned the volume up and opened his car door to step out. "Josh what are you doing?"

Maya watched as Josh stood in the middle of their driveway, looking at her expectantly as he got wet from the rain. He held out a hand towards her. "Come on!" he called out. "You can't expect me to dance out here all by myself!"

Rolling her eyes, Maya stepped out of the car and slammed her door shut. The rain instantly drenching her. "Josh it's pouring out here!"

"Maya you can't let me dance by myself!" He just wanted to escape. He wanted to release his stress and just dance with the love of his life but for some reason she wasn't budging. "Baby come on! Let's just forget about everything for like two seconds."

Josh started to dance around in the rain, hoping that she would join him but she couldn't. She had so much on her mind. "Josh," she whispered.

"Maya please! I know we have a lot going on with the show and the house but we film this week and I promise you we will figure it all out." Maya didn't move. Josh grew tired and stopped dancing. He walked over to her and frowned. "Maya is everything okay? I know we're both stressed but the show will be over after this week. We've tightened our security at the house and we're okay. Right?"

Josh placed his hands at her side and focused in on her. Maya sighed and crossed her arms over her body, protecting it. She took a deep breath and let the rain hit her face. She felt Josh grab her chin and tilt it upwards. "Maya?" Josh whispered. "Talk to me baby, what's going on?"

Maya looked up at him through her eyelashes. Her normally bright eyes were dull. "Josh I'm pregnant."

Josh's hair lay flat on his head as it was soaked from the rain. "What?"

"I was feeling weird so I took a test this morning. It was positive."

A smile started to creep up on Josh's face. "Oh my god. Oh my god!" He picked Maya up by the waist and twirled her around. "Maya this is amazing!" He gave her a firm kiss on the forehead. He noticed the sullen look on her face. "What's wrong?"

"What if this isn't the right time?" She looked down to the ground, puddles of rain sat by her feet. "What if the same thing happens again?"

Josh paused, he thought back to that painful time. He shook his head. "It won't and I'll be here every day. No leaving for a month, hell even a week. We are going to have this baby. We are finally going to get our family." He took Maya's head in his hands. "This is good baby."

Maya held back her tears. "Really?" she choked. Josh began to nod frantically, Maya nodding with him. She wrapped her arms around him, the rain hitting their bodies gently. He grabbed her and kissed her intensely, the amount of happiness in him couldn't be hidden. "I love you," she whispered against his lips.

"I love you more."

.:.

Josh sat back in his chair as he stared at himself in the mirror. Rustled, messy hair with a v-neck and loose jeans. He took in a satisfactory deep breath and focused his mind as he prepared himself for everything he's been working towards to come together today. Right in front of the camera while being streamed live across the nation. "Nervous?"

Maya had came into the dressing room and stood behind his chair. She placed her hands on his shoulders gently and smiled at his reflection in the mirror. Josh reached up and grasped her hand that lay on his shoulder. "Nope. Just hoping it all goes well." He stood from his chair and turned to face her. Maya's longe blonde hair was bouncy with volume and shine, and her makeup just enough to compliment her already pretty features. Josh took a deep breath and kissed her pink lips gently. "You look beautiful." He looked down at her abdomen and placed a hand just over stomach. "How are you feeling?"

A smile graced Maya's face as she felt Josh's warm hand touch her. "Good. Excited to dance." She laughed softly. "Happy that we're filming now instead of a few months from now."

"You're going to dance beautifully. I mean it. The choreography, the arrangements, it's all perfect Maya. You truly do have a gift."

Maya placed her hand over Josh's and looked down at her stomach. She was flat, but it felt like their little secret. Their little gift. Something only the two of them had the privilege to know. "I wonder if they'll like to dance."

Josh scoffed and laughed. "If they're our kid I sure as hell hope they do." The lights flashed twice in the room, letting them know it was time to perform. "One last dance?"

Maya shook her head. "Nah. I think we both know this won't be our last dance. We have a lifetime worth of dancing left to do."

.:.

The show was amazing. From beginning to end, everything went better than expected. Everyone danced beautifully and told Josh and Maya's story perfectly. Maya bounced away outside as she headed towards her car. "Oh my god Riles did you see it? It was amazing! Oh! And then did you see that part where I-"

Riley's bubbly laughter filled the other end of the phone. "Maya slow down! I saw the whole thing. You guys were great. Look, I have to go in just a second. I'm getting another call and then-"

Maya opened up her car door and threw her bag in the passenger seat. "Don't worry about it! I'll let you go. Josh is right behind me anyways and we need to head home. I'll call you later. Okay?"

She slammed the door shut and turned over her shoulder to see Josh walking to his car right next to hers. "Hey baby I'll meet you at the house, okay? Drive safe, drive slow, and I'll see you there?"

Maya nodded and hopped into her car, watching Josh pull out ahead of her. As she exited the lot and drove down the road, she saw Josh's taillights fly down the road ahead of her. She ended up stopped at a red light and watched as Josh streamlined ahead of her. Maya leaned her head against the window as she waited for the light to turn. The light turned green and Maya continued on, heading towards the ramp to get on the highway, just to see that it was now blocked. "You've got to be kidding me."

Hand over her hand, Maya turned the wheel and quickly used the GPS to find another route but it kept leading her in circles and circles around the original ramp. Getting frustrated she pulled over and moved to call Josh when she was rocked forward by someone hitting the back of her car. "What the hell?"

Maya looked up in her rearview mirror to see the car immediately turn their hazard lights on. She turned hers on and muttered many expletives under her breath before hopping out the car. She closed the car door and walked towards the other vehicle as the other driver stepped out. "Did you really not see me there? I had my lights on and you literally just ran into the back of my car! What is wrong with you?"

The other driver closed their door and turned to face Maya, causing her to stop in her tracks. "What the fuck?"

Just as tall as she last remembered, Andrew Adams stood in front of her in his six foot three glory. With dark brown curly hair and a smile to match. "Good to see you again." He took a moment and looked her up and down. Maya felt her breath hitch in her throat. "You look absolutely radiant." Andrew started to talk with his hands. "I saw the special. Made me a bit sad to see that I was left out. But hey, next time right?" He reached out to touch her and she stepped back. "Maybe we'll even get to do that dance we were working on before, you know."

Maya's chest heaved up and down as she grew nervous. "What are you doing here?"

Andrew ran his fingers through his hair. "I just feel like we were cheated Maya. If we had just had a little more time, everything would have been perfect. I mean everything was working out for us." He took a step towards her. "We got along, we started to dance together, hell even the universe wanted us together so bad that they made sure you had no ties left to Josh. They were making sure we had our chance." He got closer. "Now I know he made you send that text back in Atlanta so I backed off. But then I got to thinking about you and I and us and the life we could have together. And I understand now that he was just in our way."

Andrew reached up and brushed a hair out of Maya's face and smiled softly at her. She swatted his hand away. "You're delusional."

Maya backed away until she got closer and closer to her car. She placed her hand on the door to open it when Andrew said one last thing. "It's okay. You can go home to him now but just know that I know its meant to be us in the end. You're just conditioned to him. That'll change." He tapped the back of her car with his hand. "I'll see you soon gorgeous." Andrew walked back to his car and turned around to smile at her. "I'll get that damage fixed for you soon. And be sure to tell Josh I said hello."

Andrew got into his car and drove away with ease, leaving Maya staring at the ground trying to figure out what the hell just happened. She quietly got back in her car and closed the door shut before locking it. Josh's words echoed in her head. We're safe Maya.

Safe her ass.
