Francis pulled into the driveway of Gilbert's house and quickly ran up to the door. He nearly tripped over his own feet in his mad dash to the door. He knocked on the door loudly and tapped his foot as he waited what felt like an eternity, but was only half a minute, for the door to open. He nodded to Ludwig and quickly pushed past the tall German teen.
Ludwig shook his head in exasperation and shut the door before trailing behind the nervous French man. "Where is mon petit chou?" Francis asked walking into the kitchen then into the living room. The blonde shrugged. "Probably with Gilbert. He hasn't left meines bruders side since you left." Francis stared in shock at the teen. "Really?" Ludwig nodded then made his way to the albino's bedroom, Francis slowly following behind.
Ludwig stopped at the open door and gestured for Francis to go on in. The Frenchman hesitated only a moment in confusion stepping into the room. "Bonjour," he announced with a grin. His son sat on the floor, cross-legged, Gilbert across from him in the same position. The two were in the middle of playing a card game.
"Hey," Gilbert waved, not looking up from his cards, "what's up Francis?" Matthew grinned up at his father but quickly looked down at the four cards in his hands.
Francis walked closer to where the duo sat. "Ah what are you two doing?" "Playing Go Fish, Papa," Matthew said not even looking up this time. Gilbert nodded in agreement. "Kid is kicking my ass too." He didn't notice the sharp glare Francis shot him. "Got any two's kid?" Matthew shook his head. "Go fish!" Gilbert swore under his breath but reached for the deck between them.
Francis sat on the foot of Gilbert's bed and watched the two until the game was over. Matthew grinned and giggled as Gilbert scowled and crossed his arms. "I don't know how you did, but I know you did, you cheated!"
"Nuh uh!" Matthew responded, sticking his tongue out at the albino. Francis rolled his eyes at the two. "Mon cher, why don't you go gather your things and say good bye?"
"Awh! But why?!" Gilbert and Matthew whined out in unison. Francis took a step back as they both tried to do the puppy eyes on him. "We need to go grocery shopping and I need to do teacher things?" He trailed off.
Gilbert rolled his ruby colored eyes. "Oh please, teacher things can wait. Trust me." Francis sighed. "Fine. A few more hours can't hurt I suppose." Gilbert picked up Matthew and the two fist pumped. Francis shook his head and walked back to the kitchen as his son and new best friend cheered in victory.
*With Arthur*
The blonde ran a hand through his messy hair as he made his way into the kitchen. He ignored the faint smell of burning toast as he made his coffee. "Breakfast?" Ian asked from the table. Arthur glanced and saw that his brother hadn't even looked up from the book he was reading, just held out a plate with charcoal on it.
The English teen shook his head. "No thanks. I'm not that hungry really." 'And I don't want to know what that bread tastes like.' He stirred up his coffee and thought back to his date with Francis. He felt like bashing his head into a wall as he thought back to how he had nearly burnt down the Frog's kitchen.
Ian placed a book mark into the paperback before closing it. "I think I'm going to clean up a bit today." Arthur watched as his elder brother threw away the charcoal. "I may go for a walk."
The red head turned to face his youngest brother so fast Arthur was afraid he'd given himself whiplash. "You're actually going out?! Without me having to push or drag you out of the house?!" Ian placed the back of his hand to Arthur's forehead despite his brother's scowl. Arthur swatted at Ian's hand. "Oh buggar off! I just want to go for a walk!" He began to make his way out of the kitchen.
"Does it have anything to do with the fact that you were out so late last night?" Ian called out. He saw Arthur's ears turn crimson before the teen ran off, careful to not spill his coffee. Ian snickered to himself. 'Now I wonder who he could possibly be going out with...'
Arthur shut his door, loudly but not loud enough for it to be considered slamming, and scowled as he drank his coffee. He began to pull some jeans and a t-shirt from his dresser. He decided he would skip the shower and just take one later that night; not like he was going to go anywhere important or see anyone important. He decided he looked presentable enough for public, worn jeans and a band t-shirt with his black converse, and took his coffee cup back to the kitchen. He paused in the door way as he listened to Ian hum a lullaby their mother used to sing to them and their brothers. Arthur sighed but walked into the kitchen noisily. Ian stopped humming as soon as he heard Arthur's footsteps.
"Don't stay out too late yah brat." Arthur rolled his eyes but nodded. "I won't." And he walked out of the house. A few moments later and Ian continued humming to himself as he finished the dishes.
Arthur walked down the sidewalk and watched as some squirrels ran up into tree to hide from him. He smiled softly but continued walking. He thought about Francis and Matthew and suddenly he was on the concrete ground. He winced as he sat up slowly. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! Are you okay Arthur?!" He heard a familiar voice screech out. He looked up into the warm, caramel colored eyes of Chelle.
"Huh? Oh! Yes, I'm fine. I'm so sorry. I should have been paying more attention. Are you alright?" Arthur asked the now giggling Chelle. "Oh I'm perfectly fine. You cushioned my fall quite well." She winked at the pink faced Arthur. "Ah, right. Sorry again." Chelle giggled and shook her head. "It was my fault Arthur! Stop apologizing."
Arthur grinned sheepishly."Right. So what're you doing anyway?" "I have to get more fish food for Tuna. Would you like to go with me?" She asked with a grin. Arthur shrugged. "Sure." The two walked in a slightly awkward silence. "So what were you thinking about that made you a space cadet?" Chelle asked as they neared a store. Arthur paled, "Oh not much. The French test."
Chelle nodded in understanding. "I love Francis but he made that test too difficult. I hope he gives us an assignment or something for bonus points. My parents will not be happy with me if I don't pass," Arthur held open the door for her, "Thank you." "No problem. So what kind of fish is Tuna exactly?"
The brunette girl picked up a bottle of fish food. "Tuna is a goldfish." She said this as if it were common sense. "So you have a goldfish-" "Oui." "-named after a type of fish?" "Oui~""...well alright then." He followed her to the counter and watched as she purchased the fish food.
"Good afternoon Chelle." The elderly woman at the cash register said with a warm smile. Chelle grinned back, "Hello Mrs. Williamson. How are you today?" Arthur watched as the two greeted one another and zoned out a bit. "Have a nice day!" Chelle waved goodbye, pulling Arthur with her. The white haired woman waved back. "You too dear."
Now unknown to the two teenagers Ian had gone to get groceries and he was curious as to who his younger brother's girlfriend was. Just out of curiosity and big brotherly nosiness. So when he was driving and saw Arthur and a very pretty girl walking and talking and laughing together he immediately thought that girl was his brothers girlfriend.
A/N: ugh! I'm so sorry for the late update! Like you have no idea! And I'm so sorry it was mainly filler! But guys! I'm done with half of the school year! And 2013 is nearly over! I would have had this chapter out a week and a half earlier but my dog, who is basically my baby, got diagnosed with lymphoma. She had a bump on her side that had turned pitch black and a huuuuge bump on one of her dog boobs. The bump on her doggie boob the vet said it was a non malignant tumor(why he couldn't just say benign is beyond me) and he sent the black spot out to a lab to see if it's benign or malignant. I don't think I'll know until the end of this week or next. So here's hoping for the best! Merry (late) Christmas you guys! And thanks for being patient!
