A/N: Sorry about taking so long to update, I've just had a bit of writers block. So here is the new chapter…
Chapter 3 - Where Do I Sign Up?
"NO! You are not joining Annie!" yelled, not Lily, who looked thoughtful and shocked, but Sirius.
"Yes I am Sirius! Nothing you say can stop me," Annie told Sirius while trying to keep her temper in check.
"No, you're not! I will stop you," Sirius replied.
"You're not our mother Sirius!" Annie yelled at Sirius.
"Yes I'm not our mother because I actually care whether or not you die," Sirius replied scathingly. Before anyone could stop her, Annie was out of her chair and had slapped Sirius around the face.
"That was low, even for you. I'm joining and you can't stop me," Annie replied in a dangerous voice.
"Fine, then I'm joining too," Sirius said while sending a scathing look to Annie, who had just sat down.
"Anyone else wishing to volunteer?" asked Dumbledore.
"I will," James, Remus and Frank spoke up at the same time.
"I guess we will," Lily said speaking for both herself and Alice. Everyone turned to look at Peter who shrunk away under everyone's stares.
"I…I g-guess I'll j-j-join up t-too," Peter stuttered.
"Excellent. Now you must not speak of this outside of the meetings lest we want this to reach unwanted ears," Dumbledore looked at everyone in turn, "your training will be every Saturday until the end of the year, excluding holidays, and you will be training with a member of the order. You will all be training separately until the trainers decide whether or not you are ready to work together, you will be sent a note telling you who your trainer will be, the time and what room it will be in. It will stay the same unless it needs to be changed. No more questions? Good now off to class." Dumbledore told them before standing up and sweeping to the office door, opening it and holding it open for the teenagers. They got up and left the office.
At lunchtime they all sat down looking slightly dishevelled, all of the guys and Annie had just come from Herbology, while Lily and Alice came from Care of Magical Creatures. They had all filled their plates before a large tawny owl fluttered down and landed in the middle of the table.
"They must be the letters from Dumbledore. Wow, they came fast. It's like he knew we would say 'Yes'," James said as he passed the scrolls that were tied to the birds leg along to the others.
"Hey look, I'm in the Defence Against the Dark Arts room at noon," Annie told the others as she read through her scroll.
"Aww, lucky you, I'm in the History of Magic classroom at 9 in the morning," James said looking downcast at the thought of an early rise.
"Hey Annie, does yours say whose your teacher?" Lily asked.
"Ah, yeah. My teacher is Gideon Prewitt. Is that a relation of yours Alice?" Annie asked Alice.
"Yes, he's one of my cousins. Do you remember Molly who married Arthur Weasley? He's one of her younger brothers. He and his twin brother, Fabian, are only a couple of years older than us so they must be good, though I haven't heard about this until now," Alice trailed off mostly talking to herself.
"So who do you have Lily?" Annie asked, changing the subject quiet abruptly.
"I have Emmeline Vance in one of the unused classrooms on the third floor at 3 o'clock," Lily answered automatically. Everyone shared who they had, ate, then departed for afternoon lessons.
The rest of the week continued much the same. On Friday Professor McGonagall approached the group of friends in the Great Hall at breakfast.
"Miss Black, here is the list of all those trying out for the Quidditch team this year. You will need to decide the date and time for the tryouts. The new season starts middle of October and I expect a team that will win us the cup again this year," McGonagall said briskly then without a glance strode out of the Great Hall.
"Cheerful women, isn't she?" Annie asked Remus conversationally, causing him to chock on his pumpkin juice.
Once Remus had recovered he replied, "Yes, very lovely to one might add. Don't you think so?" This caused them to erupt into laughter while everyone else looked on confused, because they hadn't heard what the two had said.
It was Saturday, finally, and all Annie wanted to do was sleep until 11 then get ready for the lesson at noon, but Sirius and James had other ideas. They had been given the early times and were very annoyed about it so they decided it would be funny if they ruined the others peaceful morning of sleeping in. So once their plan, which involved a howler, a couple of dung bogs, a few silencing charms and an owl, everyone was up and annoyed. In the Great Hall, James and Sirius where cackling over their success, while the girls shot murderous looks at them and the other guys looked like they would fall asleep right there at the table. As noon came closer, someone in the group of friends would disappear for an hour or two then come back before the next person left.
It was ten to twelve when Annie left her spot by the lake, quiet happily seeing as she was sitting next to Peter, and walked through the castle towards the Defence Against the Dark Arts room. It was empty when she got there but all the desks where already pushed out of the way.
"Hello, you must be Annie," said a voice from behind her. She spun around, drawing her wand as she went. Behind her was a young man, about twenty years old, who was very good-looking, in Annie's opinion.
"Who are you?" Annie asked the stranger still not lowering his wand.
"I'm Gideon, your trainer. Sorry about the scare, I just wanted to test your reflexes, which are very fast," Gideon said as Annie lowered her wand.
"Well you have to be fast when it involves my family," Annie replied with no humour in her voice.
"Oh yeah, you're a Black. Bloody Pure-Blood fanatics, no offence," Gideon said quickly.
"None taken. You get used to it after a while," Annie replied good-naturedly. Gideon laughed then started teaching Annie about the Order of the Phoenix then some hexes and jinxes. After two hours Annie left the classroom and walked to the Gryffindor common room to start planning the Quidditch trials.
