Chapter 10

"Trapping her in her room would just make her more mentally unstable." Awashima mocked Kubinashi's suggestion on what they should do with Kana. The way they thought was just plain absurd. Suggesting trapping her in her room just to make sure she didn't attack Rikuo? Psh, yeah right. She was a human being, not some animal! They are treating her like some sort of a wild animal that needed to be tamed.

"We are not trapping her! We are being precautionary here. We don't know when she will attack next so we might as well keep her under surveillance. It will be easier to keep a close eye on her if she stayed in her room." Kubinashi argued.

"Sounds the same as trapping her to my ears." He spread his hand within his eye sight and blew on his freshly done nails to piss Kubinashi off. He remembered that Kejoro proposed to do his nails but he flatly rejected it. Somehow, Kana's puppy dog eyes tempted him to do it. Much to his horror, he actually enjoyed it. He felt like he could make anyone angry by doing this over and over again.

Kubinashi couldn't help but feel provoked by the newbie. Just what did Rikuo-sama see in him?

"You have been quarreling with each other longer than needed now. What is going on that made you guys tear at each other's throats?" Kuromaru asked, feeling very bothered by their argument. Both his siblings were next to him, looking as confused as him. They started explaining the situation to them and what happened when they were away.

"She attacked Rikuo-sama?" Tosakamaru let out a surprised gasp.

"That explains his injury but why?" Kuromaru was still confused. They then explained their theory.

"That seem possible but it's just a mere assumption!" Sasmi didn't hesitate from breaking the truth to them. They looked like they were shot with an arrow at their heart. An arrow of truth.

"It still stands!" Awashima pressed the subject. Sasmi raised an eyebrow on this but then she let out a sigh in surrender.

"One of you could be right." She admitted. "So how about we prove it?" She recommended.

"Wait, we can actually prove this now?" Kubinashi asked, surprised. "How?"

"Don't we have that disgusting guy who broke into a women's bath? We can use him." Sasmi pushed her glasses up from the tip of her nose with her index finger.

"You mean Mezumaru?" Tosakamaru sweatdropped.

"Yes, he can help us." She said and signaled to them to walk with her. They all did and soon enough they found him with Gozumaru. Mezumaru looked at them in confusion while the other one was glaring at them.

"What do you want?" Gozumaru asked cautiously.

"We need Mezumaru's help in something." Kuromaru replied.

"What do you want from him?" He held Mezumaru by the collar from rushing to help them. He was excited over getting something to do after a long time but Gozumaru wasn't.

"We need him to confirm whether someone is being controlled or not." Gozumaru was lost in thought over what they said. He have heard the rumors that floated around about a girl attacking the new supreme commander and the fact they asked him only proved that the rumors were true. He was about to answer back just to find out that everyone were gone including Mezumaru. His shoulders fell down in defeat, not at all surprised that Mezumaru would help them so, decided to check out what they were doing.

He kept his distance when he saw the group of people who were talking with him just a few minutes ago, peeking through a certain room.

"Nobody is controlling her." Mezumaru voiced out what he was seeing.

Kubinashi smirked at Awashima in victory while the other fell down to the ground on all fours with a defeated look on his face.

"At least not now. I may found out whether she is controlled or not when she attacks." Awashima leaped up from his position, displaying a peace sign with a smile on his face. The Sanba Garasu trio sweatdropped at the duo's antics. This turned into a competition when they weren't looking.

"Locking her isn't an option now. We need her to attack Rikuo so we can find out the truth." Awashima declared, waiting for an agreement. Mezumaru seemed excited about it while Kubinashi pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. He was right, they could wait for her to attack so they can prove whether she was innocent or not. He may not be on her side but he wanted her to be innocent as well or there would be trouble from the Nura Clan Executives.

"We will go with what you said but we have to keep a close eye on her." Awashima nodded his head in understanding. They had to keep a close eye on her to stop her in case she attacked a defenseless Rikuo.

"So, where is Kejoro?" Kubinashi asked now that everything was settled. Awashima pointed his thumb behind himself to where Kana and Kejoro were talking together.

"We are getting the hang of this." Both girls giggles were heard.

"I didn't think it would take us an hour to study sign language." Kejoro remarked. They managed to remember them even though they were rather slow in making them but they were proud of their achievement either way.

Kejoro glanced at the two pairs of eyes that were watching them. Awashima gave her an 'Ok' sign to signal to her that she got everyone's approval to let her out.

"Kana-chan, do you want me to show you around? It is not healthy to stay in this room for long." She hated doing nothing and for some reason this room was suffocating her. Kana made some quick hand sign in response.

'Is it okay to leave?

"You took 15 seconds to do this." Kejoro clapped her hands at her accomplishment. Kana smiled shyly at being complimented. "Of course it's okay." She took her hand and dragged her out. Kana let her drag her to whatever they were going too.

Kejoro let out a sigh in relief when she got out. I didn't know that staying in one room for so long could be this suffocating. She brushed it off like it was nothing. She opened a random room with an idea of introducing her to the house. The room she opened was filled with different kind of items. From garden ones to house items. Some were really dangerous, some were not.

"This room is for household goods." She came here very often. She usually only came to get some necessary kitchen items when one of the guys broke them while they were fighting and everybody knew that they fought like, every day. One of the items mesmerized Kana. It looked very dangerous and the way it glinted to her as if it wanted her to use it made her feel uncomfortable.

"Come on, there is more to see." She pulled her away from the room causing Kana to break out of the hypnosis of the item. They eventually checked out the entire house and were now inside Rikuo's room. Kejoro waited patiently for the girl to finish her hand sign even though she already knew what she was going to ask.

'Why are we here?

"Don't you want to see him? Don't you want to know whether he is fine or not?" She asked. Kana shook her head with unexpressed guilt. Kejoro tsked at her behaviour.

"Don't run away from your problems, instead, face them." She gave her a piece of advice before pushing her gently inside the room. Kana sent her a panicked look but Kejoro waved it off and gave her a smile in encouragement. She averted her gaze from Kejoro to the sleeping form of the boy in front of her. She sat down and stared at his peaceful face. She reached a hand out with hesitation toward him. She wanted to hold his hand but she didn't know if she was allowed to do that or not. She was aware that she was being watched so she tested how far she could go by reaching out slowly. She halted her movement when he stirred in his sleep, mumbling something.

"D-don't kill me, Kana-chan." His furrowed his eyebrows with a pained expression on his face. Sweat could be seen on his forehead as he moved his head left and right rapidly as if he was having a nightmare.

Her entire body froze when she realized that he was dreaming of her killing him. She withdrew her hand, feeling tears build up in her eyes. She tried to hold them back but they were stubborn enough to drop down her face to the floor. She clamped a hand over her mouth to stop herself from choking her sobs. She wasn't mad or sad. In fact she didn't blame him for thinking that either. I'm scared of myself too. When did she become so afraid of herself? She was terrified by what she would do next. She was bringing terror to a happy family by just being here. She was guilty for what she did and forever would be. It was not something that she could easily forget. Even though she was controlled, it was her body that did that to him. I'm sorry… She couldn't hold herself from sobbing. I'm really sorry. She repeatedly apologized and asked for forgiveness. I'm so sorry. She couldn't stop being apologetic.

"I know you didn't do it." She heard him mutter the words she wanted to hear the most. She froze in shock and looked at him with tearful eyes. He was still asleep much to her surprise. His lips stretched out into a serene smile. Why? She pushed herself from the floor and ran out of the room crying. Why? Why did he believe in her? Why are you so foolish? She didn't understand how he could still believe in her after all she had done. Why doesn't he hate me? His trust in her can get him killed someday. She wiped her tears furiously and accidentally bumped into someone. She fell backward ungracefully and looked at who she bumped into.

Kejoro stared at the crying girl in worry. She held herself from asking what happened and instead reached out a hand for her to take. The girl leaped to her feet and hugged her. Kejoro was taken aback by the sudden movement but hugged her back. She patted her back in a soothing manner.

"Shh, everything will be alright." Kejoro tried to ease her heart but the girl just shook uncontrollably. If she ever had some doubt about Kana before, then it all went away from seeing her like this. Nobody would cry this much for someone they didn't care about.

They stayed like that for 30 minutes as Kejoro comforted Kana to the best of her abilities. "Are you okay now?" She passed her a glass of water that Awashima- who seemed to have witnessed what happened- gave her. She nodded and drank the water. She was calm now after crying so hard. She gave a grateful smile to Kejoro.

"You scared me there for a second." Kejoro let out a sigh of relief and smiled back. She joked around, in hopes to cheer her up and complained about all the hard work she had to do because of the guys to steer the subject in a different direction. They were interrupted by Awashima and Kubinashi arguing again.

"They have been like this since this morning." Kejoro sighed and didn't realize she was staring at Kubinashi, who walked away with Awashima following him. Kana tugged her kimono to get her attention back to her and made some signs.

'Do you like Kubinashi-san?'

"W-what? N-no!" She stuttered while blushing. Kana hid her devious smile behind her sleeves. She just asked that to see how she would react but she didn't expect her to actually like him.

'You do like him!" Even though Kejoro couldn't read or hear the exclamation mark in that sentence, she could feel it. She panicked, thinking of other ways to change the subject.

"I heard you were in the male bath yesterday!" She pointed out hurriedly and got a satisfying reaction from Kana. She smirked at all the ways she could black mail her. Kana flapped her hand around, clearly in disadvantage for being mute.

"Rikuo an-" Kejoro was about to say something just to be cut off with a hand clasped firmly on her mouth by Kana. They had a conversation with their eyes before Kana let go.

"You spoiled all the fun." She whined, receiving a pointed glare from Kana.

"EVERYONE! I got good news!" Tsurara ran around, shouting this over and over again. Almost everyone around did a double take after hearing that. Their attention was all on Tsurara now.

"Zen-sama is coming back!"
