Chapter Eight
Game Plan
Musutafu City, Beach
The morning sun rose above the city of Musutafu City as stores, businesses, and small shops began opening up for the morning routine of their everyday life. Off near the beach side of the city, Nelsha was currently outside of the cave she claimed as a base with a portable kitchen as she was currently cooking food that she bought last night. Off on the side was Izumi who was currently guzzling down protein shakes like no tomorrow as she waited for Nelsha to finish cooking.
"Okay, game plan. Seeing how you passed out last night, which is understandable seeing how you went through a traumatic experience. We're going to get you filled up before heading off into town for some fun." Nelsha said as Izumi raised an eyebrow at her. "Hear me out, we know your mom is alive and well. So why rush to meet her when we can have some fun? I mean, come on. You have been locked up for two years, so why not have some fun at the mall or something? We can play games, try out some of the clothes that we can add to our clothing attire, we can even buy stuff that you couldn't get back at the facility."
"Well…It would be nice to have something that didn't get destroyed or burned."
"Plus, you might get pieces of your memory back if we go around town. Maybe someone might remember you or something." She said, which caused Izumi to think for a moment before speaking.
"Alright, that sounds like a decent idea."
"Wonderful. Afterward, we head over to your mom's place to give her the good news that you're alive." She said before placing the cooked bacon on a plate while cracking a few eggs into the pan she cooked the bacon in
"I'm going to assume that you're going to go after you get me home?" Izumi asked with a slight tone of disappointment in her voice.
"Of course not. There are a few reasons why I can't just up and leave. Reason one, I still can't get in contact with Kronos. Reason two, I can't just wander around space without a map. It'll be like riding a boat without a map, only there's nothing in space to feed off of. So yeah, I'm gonna be stuck here until Kronos comes here."
"A-And if they do find you here?"
"Then they'll make contact with the planet's leaders to try and establish a deal with them. Of course, they're gonna get me to be the peace breaker between…Shit that means I'm gonna have to get hands-on with how this world works."
"Hands-on?"
"It means for her case. She would have to pretend to be an inhabitant of this planet. Which isn't that difficult seeing how this planet has people with mutation quirks based off of animals and such." Vi said before appearing next to them. "If you want a more hands-on approach, might I suggest joining U.A. High School?" He said before showing images of the school along with a couple of heroes.
"But I'm not planning on becoming a hero anytime soon. Especially in a place like this where killing is against the rules."
"True, but you don't have to join them to become a hero."
"Explain?" Nelsha asked while pulling up the rules and laws of hero society.
"On a fundamental scale, you would make a horrible hero by this planet's standards. But, your skills can be of use as a bounty hunter." He said as Nelsha looked over the information she was given. "I can make a profile for you in this planet's database over in America. Mainly because that's where you got your bounty hunter license from a shady person by the name of Bob Jones."
"Well you're not wrong about the whole hero thing, but with the bounty hunter thing. Wouldn't they call this Bob Jones person and I get found out for not being a bounty hunter?"
"I doubt they could do that seeing how he's dead," Vi said before pulling up an image of a bald overweight man. "The man died about two years ago due to heart failure. Though his business wasn't much, it still counts as a place to get your license legally. So if you were to say where you got your license from, then they'll understand and you won't get in trouble for the most part."
"For the most part?"
"You can't kill them unless they're on the death row list, and even with that, you'll have to be careful when doing that. Most people in Japan are not huge fans of people getting killed out in the open. Especially heroes. You'll have to buy or make your weapons and gear, and no fighting against other heroes unless they assault you first or are controlled by a person with a mind control quirk. If a hero is willing to cooperate with you, you must split the profit you get from the job you're on by fifty percent."
"Hm, not a bad way to make money…and to kill time until Kronos finds me." She said before looking at Izumi. "As I was saying, they'll make contact with this planet's leaders after I give them the information about this place, try to form a contract with them, and I'll be stationed here for a good few years or so."
"Oh, okay. Well, that's good that you'll still hang around here."
"Aw, I didn't know you care that much about me~," She said, which caused Izumi to stammer a bit.
"W-We're just friends! That's all. Plus it wouldn't be nice for you to up and leave without me being able to pay you back for saving me."
"I suppose that's fair. But I think the battle I had with One For All is payment enough for you to pay me back." She said before placing the sunny-side-up eggs on a plate. Once she was done, she walked over to Izumi with a plate stacked with eggs, bacon, toast, and a stack with the fat still on it. "Try not to eat too fast. Don't want you throwing up or choking due to not pacing yourself."
The moment Izumi saw the food that was on her plate, her mouth began to water at how tasty the food looked along with the smell. She licked her lips before digging into the meal presented to her as moans of pleasure escaped her lips from the taste of eating something that didn't taste foul, rotten, or caused her to throw up.
"God, it's been far too long since I had something this good in my mouth," Izumi said before pausing due to what she said. She looks over at Nelsha who was trying her best not to burst out laughing, which in turn caused Izumi to blush red from embarrassment at her wording. "T-That's not what I meant to say!"
"You can't expect me not to laugh at that, but it's nice to see that my cooking skills are to your liking." She said before walking back over to the stove to cook her meal.
"If you don't mind me asking, what kind of planet do you come from?" Izumi asked, which caused Nelsha to pause in her cooking as looked over at the human girl.
"What makes you bring up a question like that?"
"Well, you are an alien from space. Who wouldn't want to ask you questions about space, or where you came from…right?"
"I…suppose you're not wrong about that. Just never had anyone ask me something like that before that wasn't on a sheet of paper or something like that." Nelsha said before returning her attention to cooking. "I come from a planet known as Kalahan. It wasn't a highly developed planet in terms of technology like Kronos, but it was advanced when it came to magic where you would think it was a futuristic planet." She said as Vi showed her an image of Nelsha's planet and civilization via a digital screen.
"Huh…it almost looks like the medieval era," Izumi said while pulling out her notebook and started writing down some notes.
"Yeah, though unlike the human version of that era, we have dragons, fairies, and magic." She said as Vi showed Izumi images of the creatures from Nelsha's planet. "There wasn't much land mass on the planet, but it was divided into three kingdoms. I hail from the Kingdom of Darkness, Kamelot. Kamelot with a K, not a C. Don't ask me why it was named like that, I wasn't around during that time when the name picked out the name for the Kingdom."
"The other two Kingdoms are called Ojin and Gimir. Ojin the Samurai Kingdom of the Nedian, and Gimir is the Viking Kingdom of Foxtails." She said before Vi showed Izumi a picture of a male humanoid with elf ears and a female with a fox tail.
"And what is the Kingdom of Kamelot consisted of?"
"Fellpools and bunnymen. I was born and raised in the dark Kingdom of Kamelot."
"Dark Kingdom?"
"Each kingdom has certain elements that they excel in. Gimir has Wind and Ice, Ojin has Light and Lightning, and Kamelot has Darkness, Fire, Water, and Earth. A lot of the tribes in the Kingdom excel in one of the four elements, be I excel in all four given how my mother had that genetic trait to master all four elements."
"Interesting. That would explain that dark octopus-like creature you were able to summon at the facility. I can assume that there's a certain hierarchy in this Kingdom. Like rich, middle, or poor class?"
"Not really. I mean we do have a bit of a class system, but we don't view people like that. We treat people that we wouldn't mind having a drink with after work or something like that. The entire kingdom sees each other as one big happy family given how it started with nothing. So we know what it's like to struggle. Hence the reason why we work together to live long."
"Very interesting, so it's like forming a community of people having something in common and working together for a common goal. And this is only your kingdom that does this?"
"Seems like it," Nelsha said as she walked back over to Izumi with a plate full of partly cooked steaks and began to eat it. "Never really paid much attention to what the other kingdoms were doing. I was more focused on learning Symbology and training. Speaking of training, I'm gonna have you on a workout schedule to help return you to normal. Eating a good meal is all well and good, but you still need to work and not let yourself go like most people."
"Interesting. That would explain that dark octopus-like creature you were able to summon at the facility. I can assume that there's a certain hierarchy in this Kingdom. Like rich, middle, or poor class?"
"I figured as much…does that mean you'll teach me how to use that Symbology thing you used at the facility?"
"You want to learn Symbology?" Nelsha asked as Izumi nodded. "Vi, will it be a problem if we teach her Symbology?"
"It might…unless you can do what you usually do when you're in trouble. Which is to lie your ass out of trouble and get into more trouble like before."
"You've done something like this before?" Izumi asked.
"Well not the teaching the Symbology to someone else part, but saying that I was a scientist from a different country on an underdeveloped planet, that I have done…which took me a while to get off seeing how they needed Vi's assistance in curing some troubling ailments that are common in space," Nelsha said before turning her attention onto Izumi. "But it shouldn't be a problem seeing how we can just say it's your quirk or something." She said before noticing a grin appearing on her face. "We'll start your training after a day or two after we get you home. Sounds like a plan?"
"O-Of course! Not only will this be informative, but I get to learn something from another world! This is the best day of my life as far as I can remember!" She yelled before covering her mouth due to how loud she was. "S-Sorry didn't mean to yell like that."
"It's fine and understandable that you would be excited by this. Now, finish eating so we can head into town. I want to have a look around town and see what they have."
