Yep, I said it, Tuesday is here and to finally repay you guys, I'd upload my newest chapters based on Speckles. So, after quite the anticipation, let's get on to Chapter 5! Before I start, let me say that I am truly sorry that I had to put you into this kind of wait, I really mean it. In this new chapter, Speckles and Speckles Junior are suddenly attacked by a group of raptors on their way to the Great Lake. Yeah, I know, raptor pack cliche, what else do I have to say? But please, just give me a chance and eventually, I'll make it up to it. Either way, let's get down to it!
Chapter 5
Raptor Raid
The lush conifers of the jungle brushed away as the mighty strength of Speckles forced it's way through. Along with him was Junior who immediately passed through, with a dead rat on his mouth, saliva dripping down it's gums. Speckles trampled his way towards a bleak light across as he sniffed. Every time minute or so, Speckles would always sniff at the air as he is concerned of danger. He knows how much Junior means to him as he was the only member of his family left. As Junior was only an infant, Speckles was very protective of him, threatening to even kill anything if things go too far. As he traveled, all he could hear was the cries of a happy Junior. Speckles cannot do anything but remind him of his past. He used to be an overexcited, curious runt who lived with his original family prior to his separation by One Eye.
After Speckles and Junior make their way to the exit, they find themselves at a large meadow, full of flowers. There were also some magnolia trees besides them. Amazed, Junior gulps up the rat corpse and heads into the flowers to play. But before Speckles could lay down and relax, he was interrupted when he heard the sounds of a screech. Speckles stood up instantly and growled ferociously, knowing that these were none other than Velociraptor's, small meat-eating dinosaurs that worked together as a pack in order to take down prey much bigger than themselves. To top that off, they are also smart, smart enough to remember a certain dinosaur and to recognize their own pack. Each pack was led by a patriarch who led them into battle and dominance. Speckles then ran towards Junior, now frozen in shock as he stood defensively, his teeth baring angrily towards a small opening.
Suddenly, several shadows brushed into the grass in an instant. They were Velociraptor's, but they were different from the ones Speckles saw. They were fully covered in feathers and with their bright coloring and incredible speed and cunning, they were difficult in tracking down. Their feathers came in two variation: a white colored variant and a brown colored variant. However, before one of the raptors could harm, he was unfortunately tossed aside back to the ground by Speckles who then roared furiously. Speckles new the raptors were aiming to snatch Junior away from him for an easy meal, but he wasn't going to let it happen. Determined to protect his only protecting child, Speckles goes berserk, slamming his head against the raptors. One of the raptors took advantage of a distraction and manages to cling itself onto Speckles's shoulder, causing him to lose his focus and start roaring in irritation as he keeps stumbling, to the horror of Junior. One of them recklessly tried to kill the helpless infant, but unfortunately, Speckles's feet eventually trampled the poor raptor, killing it. Speckles also used his strong tail as defense as he managed to swat many of his smaller adversaries. After quite some time struggling, Speckles finally caught the clinging raptor with his terrible jaws. The raptor howled in agony as it tried to escape, but however, it was no use as Speckles wasn't going to give it a second. Instantly, Speckles used his jaw to ruthlessly crush the raptor before he tossed it to the flowers below.
Speckles continued to defend Junior from the raptor onslaught, though he himself was starting to tire out. As saliva drooled down his moth, Speckles's movement started to more sluggish, though he was still managed to get many raptors off-guard. Just as Speckles was about to kill a raptor due to his increasing anger, he was halted by another screech, only this time, it sounded a little different. Frightened, all the other remaining raptors backed down an ran off to the direction where the voice came out. A few raptors turned around to face Speckles once time before they disappeared into the conifers. Speckles backed down a little before he took a breath of relief. Junior later approached him, worried, but Speckles later crouched down to him and nuzzled him. Junior later hugged him. Speckles walked towards the meadows and later grabbed a raptor's corpse before he devoured it. He took another dead body, but dropped it towards his son, for him to eat. As Junior took bits and chunks for himself, Speckles later grabbed him with his jaws. For every single animal in the world, those jaws were the terrible weapon they ever endured. But for Junior, they were the ultimate source of protection as he was just a newborn.
Speckles growled as he continued his way to the Great Lake. A swarm of butterflies and honeybees start to infest the flowers for nectar as father and son trample their way into the lush jungle ahead of him. As Speckles walked his way, he started to think about Blue Eyes's death. Sometime later, he also started reminiscing about his daughters. Due to these events, he was very concerned about his son's future. Along the way, Speckles makes a vow that he would always be there to protect and support Junior, no matter the cost and to avoid death itself to prevent Junior to prevent the lonely childhood he suffered for the past 20 years at the hand of One Eye. But for now, they were currently heading to the lake to satisfy their thirst and to take a rest, as evening soon starts to rise.
Meanwhile at the other side of the conifers, the raptors whom Speckles fended off against were in the middle of a massive lush of vegetation, confronted by another raptor. He was completely covered in grey feathers, but he also had some black plumage's that formed a few stripes on his back. This raptor was in fact, the patriarch of the pack that tried to kill Junior. Disappointed, he roars aggressively towards his pack members, frightening them. They immediately growled and bowed down for forgiveness, but still, the patriarch was not pleased. But however, he forgives them, but this would be for the last time. He also promises that if they fail one last time, he would instantly eliminate them, whether if future situations were dire or not. The patriarch then dashes off somewhere else, later followed by his pack, determined not to fail at any cost...
(ATTENTION! I have announced a new story, featuring Blue Eyes as the protagonist. It would mostly be an Origin Story, detailing her journey before her meeting with Speckles as teenagers. If you say so, I could also give more focus, even expanding the source material to making new story if she and her daughters actually survived the eruption and how would it affect the story of Speckles and Junior. Till then, provide me with few good ideas and eventually, I would announce a release date of my new Blue Eyes story.)
That set and done, I have to say thanks to anyone who have given me enough encouragement to continue writing this story. Thank god none of these were death threats (just kidding) :P. I am very sorry for a time span that lasted almost a year, but thank god, I finally released it in order to please you fans. And plus, I've been wondering how this one got to be the most popular out of all my stories. Whatever it was, I guess I just got lucky. I would also try to expand the characters of Streaker and Tyrant, similar to "Origin Chapters" in "A T. rex's Journey in order to provide depth to the plot. But hopefully, try to give me as much support and ideas as possible and eventually, I could keep this series alive until it finally ends. With that said and done Rate, Review and Comment (A usual trait for my second paragraph in feedback) and look out to the newest chapter of "Speckles the Tarbosaurus: A New Journey" every Tuesday. Also, you catch up to updates and new chapters of "The Life & Origin of Zak" and "A T. rex's Legacy every Monday and Wednesday respectively. And lastly, thank you so much guys for giving me so much praise and support (YOU ARE AWESOME!) and please look out for my latest updates. With that said and done, I'll see you again tomorrow, so take care of yourself ;)!
