Hey everyone!

One week later and actually on time, you get the next chapter to this story! Hooray!

I'll try to keep it at this even once a week pace if possible, so look out for a chapter every Monday. Or whatever day it is for those in different time zones. I suck at telling time zones. Sorry.

Anyways, I'll just quickly reply the the reviews and the give a disclaimer, before allowing the story to start.

piggythelaw: Aww, thank you! Your reviews are the ones that always make me smile! Oh and as for that feeling of happiness being shattered, let's just say that your prediction is quite good... Oh and thanks for the cookies! I'll share if you want :D

Bdnboy1 (Guest): Thank you! I was worried if it would come off to weird, sappy or just a poor attempt, but your review shows me that I was wrong. Thanks for reviewing yet again! I hope to see you on my story again soon!

That's it for the reviews but I want to give a shout out to everyone who's followed or favorited either my story, me or both, it means a lot to me guys! Thank you!

DISCLAIMER: Why would I bother being on fanfiction if I could just make the story into a comic book and have Morgan be a real DC superhero?

I wake up in the middle of the night to something strange. I can hear a strangled sound from somewhere.

Slowly, I get out of bed and creep down the hall. The sound gets louder as I approach the kitchen. Suddenly, it cuts off.

I enter the kitchen and promptly scream.

Slade is standing over the body of Alfred. His eyes are opened wide, but they are vacant and dead.

He's… he's dead.

Bruises are already appearing on his neck. He was strangled. But obviously he was making too much noise if the slit throat means anything.

"Did you really think that he would be safe Morgana?" Slade practically purrs.

He then slowly circles my frozen body.

"I know where you live, who you love, your closest friends. I know everything about you Morgana. You came back here knowing fully well that I could come and kill all of you. Let's face it Morgana…" He stops behind me and whispers into my ear. "…It's your fault that he's dead."

"No!" I choke out but I know he's right.

"Slade! Get away from her!" I hear Bruce growl.

"Now why would I do that?"

Slade then whips out a gun and before I could even think of screaming no, the gunshots crack through the air.

Bruce falls to the ground, blood pouring from the twin bullet holes in his head and his heart.

"Dad!" Dick shrieks as he screeches to a halt beside Bruce's body. "No! Nonono!"

"Step away from the body Richard, or I'll shoot her." Slade says, the gun resting lightly against my temple.

He looks up, tears filling his eyes. But he steps away ever so slowly.

"I want you to come here Richard and face your death like a man"

Dick's chin raises slightly and his eyes harden. He knows that there is no escape this time, but he's going to die bravely. He walks towards Slade and looks him in the eye. He doesn't say a word, just looks at him.

"Turn around" Slade orders, a perverse pleasure evident in his voice.

Dick turns around and Slade pulls the smaller boy against his body. A shiny steel blade lightly touches Dick's neck. It's still dripping with Alfred's blood.

"Do you know what I'm going to do Richard?"

"You're going to slit my throat" he says, his voice void of emotion.

"Correct" Slade says.

The next thing I know, Dick is slumped on the ground, face pale and eyes dull. Crimson blood is seeping out of his neck and I know he's dead.

"No!" I shriek. I try to run towards him but it's like my legs are stuck to the floor and I can't move.

"No" I say and collapse, tears streaming down my face. I curl into a ball and whisper no again.

"Get up, we're going." Slade says.

I'm suddenly able to stand and I glare at him.

"You MONSTER!" I scream and before I can recognise what's happening, I can feel my magic rushing through my veins.

I scream like a wild animal and shoot the black magic writhing in my palms at him.

I wake up screaming and crying, unable to breathe.

"Shh. It's ok now. You're safe, we're safe, everyone's safe."

I throw my arms around Dick's body and sob into his arms.

I feel two other sets of arms enveloping me and I know that Alfred and Bruce are safe too. They're all safe.

I compose myself and whisper an apology.

"There's nothing to apologise for Miss Morgan"

I sigh sadly and shakily get out of bed.

"Where are you going?" Bruce asks.

"I need some fresh air."

"Me too, I'll come with you" Dick says and then smiles gently at me.

I smile back and we both walk down the hall and head out the doors that lead to the balcony. The cool breeze that plays with my hair and the feathers on my wings helps me to calm down and not lose control of the magic so close to my fingertips.

"Let it go Morgan. I know you want to, just let it go" Dick whispers, obviously able to see my struggle with myself.

I reach inside myself and let my magic go. To my surprise, it comes out a beautiful silver. A beautiful and very powerful silver.

"Wow" I whisper.

"Wow indeed. I knew you would be able to do it" I hear Slade purr from the shadows and I don't even hesitate before I throw the silver orb at him. He tumbles to the floor, breathing heavily.

"Stay away from her." Dick hisses angrily and I see him subtly press a button on his belt. When he threw a belt on? I wish I knew.

Slade's eye narrows.

"You think a mere threat is going to keep me away?"

"No, but this will!" I say and then I reach inside myself and mix my anger with control. Another silver orb appears in my palm.

"You taught me how to harness my anger too well Slade. Now look at what I can do!" I say and then fling the orb at him as hard as I can.

The orb smashes into his chest and flings him over the railing. I see terror in his eye for a split second before it turns into malice. Huge, terrifying, black wings suddenly burst out of his back, through two hidden slits in his metal armour.

"Until next time" he says before he shoots away at a terrifying speed.

"He- He's the Thanagarian that did all that" I stutter before I slump against the stone barrier around the balcony.

Bruce suddenly bursts through the door, closely followed by Alfred.

"Morgan? Dick? Are you alright?"

"Yes"

"No"

"Morgan?"

"Slade's the evil Thanagarian Shayera was talking about! How am I supposed to be ok after finding that out? And I used so much power, just to get rid of him!"

"But now you know you can do it!" Dick suddenly interjects in excitement. "You can beat him, we both saw it. You know you can do it now!"

"He'll be prepared now though Master Dick" Alfred says, ever keeping the level head he's become famous for.

"So we have to surprise him again! We need to train Morgan to use her powers. We need to push the limits, find out what she can and can't do. If we learn enough, maybe we can take him down!"

"Only if Morgan agrees to it though. It'll be hard work." Bruce says, not wanting to hurt me any more than I had already been hurt.

I make up my mind on the spot. I don't need time; I know exactly what I want to do.

"When do we start?" I ask.

"Not now. Right now, we all need rest, proper rest." Alfred says, shutting down any thoughts anyone had of immediately beginning training. Good old Alfred.

"Well unless you can tell my dreams to go screw themselves, I'm not going to get much more sleep tonight" I reply.

"Morgan, language." Bruce warns.

"Sorry." I mutter and then glare at Dick when I hear his muffled snickers.

"I have a little something that can temporarily cause the body to fall into a dreamless sleep. Master's Bruce and Dick have both used it on several occasions, especially after a couple of run-ins with the Scarecrow."

"And Slade" Dick adds quietly to let me know that he understands.

"It works quite well Morgan." Bruce says.

"I'll try it." I decide.

"You cannot use it too much though, Miss Morgan, otherwise your body may become addicted to it."

"I understand."

"Follow me then" Alfred says, smiling.

We head down towards the Batcave and Alfred pulls out a vile of clear liquid from one of the many drawers. He pours out a measure of it and I swallow it quickly.

The taste is fairly bland but to be honest, that's much better than something disgusting like cherry flavoured medicine. Whose idea was it to make cherry flavoured medicine anyway? It tastes disgusting!

As we walk back to my room, I can slowly feel myself becoming more and more drowsy. Luckily, by the time I reach the point of me falling asleep, I'm already in bed.

I hear three soft goodnights before a cool darkness claims me. I'm not plagued by a single nightmare or dream that night. A vision, however, is not the same as a dream.

I watch an unfamiliar Thanagarian slowly become angrier and angrier as year after year he and his people are ruled by Angels. He hates how everyone is so out of their league, hates how no one has a chance at the throne. Eventually, he decides to put a stop to it.

I watch as he starts a revolution and kills every Angel in sight and then some until there is not a single white feather left to be found.

I watch as he declares himself ruler and the Thanagarians heartily agree, not realising the evil that is slowly poisoning their new ruler.

I watch as year after year more and more Angels are slain and the Thanagarians slowly realise what a huge mistake they made by killing the Angels.

I watch as the ruler, a Thanagarian by the name of Slade Wilson, slowly gains more and more power from the evil he experiments in. I watch as his once grey tinged wings slowly bleed into black as he becomes more and more corrupted.

I watch as the Thanagarians try and fail to defeat him over and over again.

I watch as he leaves his clone made out of evil magic to rule over the Thanagarians as he heads towards earth to search for the hidden Angel.

I watch as he finds the perfect girl to train to find and assassinate the Angel when they appear.

I watch as he stalks and eventually kidnaps a boy called Robin because he believes him to be the hidden Angel.

I watch as he discovers that the girl was the hidden Angel.

I watch as he fights her and tries to hinder her growing in her powers.

I watch as the girl finally discovers who she is.

I watch as she names herself Halo and I watch as she defeats Slade.

I wake up gasping for air. This time though, I'm not upset or afraid, I'm alive.

I finally know my purpose, who I am.

My purpose is to defeat Slade.

I am a hero.

I am Halo.
