April 17th 9:23pm- S.T.A.R. Labs with Virgil and Krypto
Virgil and Krypto were just on the verge of sleep when three angry bangs on the door made them shoot up from the bed. Virgil quickly ushered Krypto into his hiding spots all while the bangs resumed. He ran over to the door before the person on the other side could bag again. All Virgil wanted was some sleep and it seemed like every person in this vicinity didn't want him to. Last night he was woken up by the intercom at two in the morning for a new experiment exercise.
Virgil's bleary eyes met with a orange tiger print suit that masked the figure of a young woman. After this registered in his mind he proceeded to rub his eyes of some of their tiredness.
"Emergency room check," the woman barked at him. Virgil's face turned white in fear. They're going to find Krypto, Virgil thought, they know that he is in here.
"W-Wh-Why would you want to do that at this hour?" Virgil asked as a cold sweat started to come across his body.
"Emergency room check," the woman sneered again adding emphasis on the word 'emergency'. She pushed him aside a flicked on the bedroom light as two men that looked like Storm Troopers except they had black instead of white on, followed the woman inside. The three turned Virgil's room upside down as Virgil nervously watched from the doorway.
"Everything checked," the woman asked the two men.
"Not the bed," the one by the closet answered. Virgil became stark white as the woman went to the bed and searched under the mattress and sheets. Virgil nearly died of nervousness and anxiety when the woman bent over and searched underneath the bed with a flashlight. Virgil knew he was a goner right then and there.
April 17th 9:33pm - S.T.A.R. Labs with Artemis
Artemis and Dax's men were searching rooms trying to find Krypto. Artemis just wanted to locate the dog to tell Kaldur, Wally or Dick for when the team comes they will know where to find the Dog of Steel.
This kid's, Virgil she thought, was the last room to be checked in the northern part of the building. She was searching the last place in the room, the bed. Artemis checked under the sheets even though it was unlikely, but over the past five years she has learned to never leave a stone unturned. She then lifted the mattress and saw Krypto through the bed boards on the floor in the farthest corner from the door. Artemis let the bed flop back into place as she grabbed the flashlight off of her belt and kneeled down to look underneath the bed. She flashed the light at Krypto earning his attention and a feared look in his eyes. Artemis gave the dog a short nod in acknowledgement before setting down the feather of an old arrow in front of Krypto using her other hand. She pulled away and stood back up hoping that Krypto would remember her sent from the artifact she gave him.
"Nothing's here. Let's move on," Artemis announced to the room's occupants. Dax's men left first, so much for lady's first, and Artemis followed behind and gave Virgil a wink that she knew that he saw even if you was wearing a mask.
April 18th 7:45am - Mount Justice with the team and Dinah, Ollie, Kara and Ace
Kara and Wally sat half asleep on the couch as Dick gathered everyone together and started handing out assignments.
"Wally, Kara, are you guys even listening?" Dick stopped and asked the two dozing young adults.
"Yes," Wally replied his voice heavy and annoyed from Dick waking him up so early.
"Not really," Kara replied honestly as she rested her head on Wally's shoulder.
"Hey, where's Barb?" Wally asked halfheartedly scanning the room.
"Right here," Barbara replied behind them, pouring herself a cup of coffee. She was still in her pajamas because she rolled out of bed a minute ago.
"Nice of you to finally join us," Dick told her dryly.
"Yeah, well, I'm allergic to mornings," Barbara retorted.
"Amen to that!" Wally, Kara and Ollie exclaimed.
"Moving on," Dick started, "Babs, you're the damsel in distress."
Dick handed her a script, as she took it Barbara coldly said, "I hate you."
"I'm sure you do," Dick replied in an unbelieving tone. Barbara just took a sip of her coffee.
"Dinah and Ollie, you guys are a lovely couple walking by," Dick handed them a script. "Wally-"
"Ooh, can I be the bad guy or one of the superheroes?" Wally asked eagerly.
"No, you are our camera guy."
"I hate you," Wally halfheartedly grumbled.
"You're not the only one," Barbara mumbled into her Nightwing mug before she sipped her coffee again.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, Dick sighed and gave in to his closest friends' hidden requests.
"Fine. Wally, you can be the idiot that gets kidnapped and Barbara, you can do editing and camera work."
"Hallelujah!" The two exclaimed and Barbara threw her script at Wally's face, to which he caught it due to his speed.
"Moving on, Conner and Kara, you will be yourselves. Karen, you're going to be a bystander. Last but not least, M'gann will be our villain," Dick finished with all the scripts handed out.
"Okay, so what are you going to do? And where are we going to film?" Kara asked looking over the script.
"I'm the director and we are filming on Martha and Jonathan's farm. I already asked them if we could film there," Dick answered.
A quiet moment went by, Karen and M'gann looking over scripts, Dinah and Ollie cuddling on the chair, Kara and Wally falling back to sleep again, Conner walking towards the kitchen to make coffee, and Barbara taking her last sip in her mug before following the clone.
"Let's get moving people we are burning day light," Dick yelled as he picked up a throw pillow and threw it at his two dozing friends on the couch. The two glared at him before Kara threw the pillow back much harder. Dinah got up to get some coffee, and everyone else slowly started to get into their morning routine.
"I hope he knows that the sun hasn't come up in Kansas, so there is no day light to burn yet," Conner said to Barbara and Dinah quietly as the three took a sip of coffee from their respective mugs simultaneously.
